Old Jarhead's Political SitRep for October 24, 2012

Old Jarhead's Political SitRep for October 24, 2012
Robert A. Hall

I voted Tuesday
In early voting here in Crook County, IL. And would you believe the racists asked me for a photo ID? Probably they don’t care who votes here as long as they get to do the counting.

My take on the Debate
I'd say no knockout, but Romney on points--though that may be my bias talking. I'm not sure why Romney let him off the hook on the administration's obvious lies about Libya. The moderator was probably the best so far, though it seems like Obama got more time--again--and he allowed Obama to interrupt like "Rude Joe" Biden. I'm writing immediately after the debate, though I tuned in a bit late due to a business conference call, and have been checking Twitter during it while listening, as I couldn't sit still. The media, of course, will be desperate to call anything short of an on-stage suicide by Obama a "win," so it will be hard to judge. Except on November 7th.

Undecided voters?
Caught a TV interview with a group of supposedly "undecided" voters the morning after. A couple were so vehemently attacking one candidate or the other, especially one woman going after Romney, it was pretty hard to believe that many of them didn't go in as strong partisans and shamelessly lie about being "undecided" to get on TV for their candidate.

Bayonets?
Actually, there was a successful British bayonet charge in Iraq. Every Marine still gets bayonet training, but one wouldn't expect this commander in chief to know that much about the military he "commands." And I have a bayonet for my M1--once Obama guts both our military and our ability to defend ourselves, it may be all I'll have for a last stand. See:
Trending on Twitter as #bayonetsandhorses. (And with Obama’s energy policies, the military will need horses again, too.)

Fix bayonets.
Excerpt: Not long after giving that order, 1st Lt. Arthur Karell was hunched in a dirt trench crowded with Marines. The hushed darkness bristled with eight-inch blades fitted beneath the barrels of dozens of M-16 assault rifles.

BARACK OBAMA RIPPED By Bayonet Co. We're Still Relevant!!!
http://www.tmz.com/2012/10/23/barack-obama-bayonet-company-relevant-debate/#ixzz2A90IEX8G
Excerpt: We spoke with Dan Riker from Bayonet Inc. -- a leading military surplus outlet that specializes in bayonets -- who tells us he believes Obama's comment was "ignorant ... because our soldiers still use bayonets."
Tweets on the Debate
Obama: Israel is our greatest ally in the region. This is why I choose Letterman over Bibi.

Obama has no regrets about the Arab Spring....uh lots of Arabs do.

"Putin will not see more flexibility if I'm elected, he'll see more backbone" Mitt Romney

Hmm...President taking a victory lap on Libya right now, like nothing at all went wrong. At all. - JB

Our president doesn't seem to grasp the concept of "lesser of 2 evils." I.e.: Qaddafi bad; Muslim bro-hood worse.

Romney's answer on Iran is awesome. No wonder Ahmadinejad has endorsed Obama

Romney: When the president said he was going to create daylight between ourselves and Israel, they saw that.

Obama's points on Iran are the exact same ones he had in the debate against McCain circa 2008. Signs of failed policy: saying same in 4 yrs!

FACT CHECK - Obama has granted waivers to “all twenty of Iran’s major trading partners,” including China http://on.wsj.com/MPWuQo

Obama you need to know that my son is a Marine and the Military thinks your a joke, that's why you want to suppress their vote.

Worth Reading: What Mr. Schieffer, President Obama, and Mr. Romney Failed to Mention. by Andy Weddington
Excerpt: After the debate I did a rough calculation. President Obama has had some 2,100,000 (2.1 million) minutes to prove he's president material. He's failed - foreign and domestic. Crushed during the first debate, he made a better showing in the last two but to say he won anything is a stretch. On the other hand, Mr. Romney, in 270 minutes (three 90 minute debates) clearly proved he is what presidents are made of - success as a business man and as a governor his foundation and evident. He looked and sounded like a president.

Worth Reading: Libya and Lies. By Thomas Sowell
It was a little much when President Barack Obama said that he was "offended" by the suggestion that his administration would try to deceive the public about what happened in Benghazi. What has this man not deceived the public about? Remember his pledge to cut the deficit in half in his first term in office? This was followed by the first trillion dollar deficit ever, under any President of the United States -- followed by trillion dollar deficits in every year of the Obama administration.

Ohio Focus Group Picks Mitt Romney As Winner Of Last Night’s Debate

Excerpt: On the looming defense sequestration cuts, Obama claimed “The sequester is not something that I’ve proposed. It is something that Congress has proposed.” But according to no less than investigative juggernaut Bob Woodward, sequestration was the brainchild of White House chief of staff Jack Lew and White House Legislative Affairs Director Rob Nabors, who talked Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid into supporting it. By blaming Congress, Obama is eliding his own role in the failed negotiations that resulted in the U.S. credit rating being downgraded. (You and I know Obama lied repeatedly. But will the low-information voter ever know? Not from the media. ~Bob.)

Excerpt: But I'll tell you one thing I learned after watching an hour and a half of split-screen -- Obama has one angry looking jaw. I think that in the next Presidential election the Democrats will forbid split-screen.

Excerpt: Well, we've had our last debate. We'll not see anymore post debate pundits spinning their respective party lines. One of the first thing I noticed was that Obama made it clear he was coming in with gloves on, ready for the Chicago thuggery that is his style when feeling threatened...and those poll numbers certainly have Obama's campaign running scared. Mitt Romney tonight countered with a calm and serene air, totally in charge of his personal political philosophy. He looked Presidential and far above the pettiness and demagoguery that Obama personified.

The Third and FINAL Debate: Romney Won. By Rich Galen
Excerpt: Incumbent Presidents are expected to know more about foreign policy than their challengers, but the challengers' … challenge is to show that if they get the daily security briefing in the Oval Office they can handle the job. If that is a fair measure, then Mitt Romney won this debate.

FINALLY – MSNBC Fact Check: Romney Was Right And Obama Was Wrong On Auto Bailout

Excerpt: Cumulatively, over the span of the three debates, Obama received 8 minutes and 8 seconds more time to make his case for re-election to the American people than Republican nominee Mitt Romney, or 128 minutes and 36 seconds to Romney’s 120 minutes and 28 seconds.
http://www.bernardgoldberg.com/debate-3-how-much-does-foreign-policy-matter-if-you-cant-find-a-job/?utm_source=BernardGoldberg.com+Newsletter&utm_campaign=ec73b1c3f2-NEWSLETTER&utm_medium=email
Excerpt: When more than 20 million Americans are out of work, or working only part time because that’s the best they can do, or are so discouraged that they’ve stopped looking for jobs, I’m not sure how much a foreign policy debate matters to voters. President Obama came off, well, as presidential in debate number 3.

The Truth About Libya
Two powerful videos.

Worth Sharing: Not Optimal

'Annex' hit in Libya terror attack was CIA post, officials say. By Justin Fishel
Excerpt: The Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi targeted more than just a State Department consulate. One of the buildings hit was a covert CIA installation, U.S. officials told Fox News. ... In reality, CIA agents and other intelligence officials were operating out of Benghazi conducting delicate missions, including the search for over 20,000 deadly shoulder-fired missiles previously owned by Muammar Qaddafi's Libyan forces. (Military support was one hour away. Provided the Islamists the MANPADS and all the strategic data…Barb)

Excerpt: A new ad from the super PAC backing House Republicans invokes President Obama's 2008 comments about "bitter" small-town Americans clinging to guns, religion and their prejudices against outsiders. …The president made those hidden-camera comments, during a 2008 fundraiser in California, in reference to Pennsylvania voters. Obama said at the time that, as jobs disappear in the area, "It's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." (My theory why TLC is pushing Honey Boo—to ridicule “rednecks.” ~Barb.)

Obama draws praise from Chavez, Putin -- and Castro family

Excerpt: Venezuela President Hugo Chavez, after winning a fourth term earlier this month, reportedly said he would vote for Obama and that the president would likely vote for him….His support follows that of the Castro family, which has ruled Cuba under a communist dictatorship for more than 50 years.…And Russian President Vladimir Putin -- who is back in Moscow's driver's seat after a stint as prime minister -- has said the reelection of Obama could improve political relations between the two countries. (Anti-American? Then pro Obama! What’s wrong with this picture? --Barb)

Excerpt: For some months, I have been predicting that Romney would not only win but win big. I have a number of lunches and other small wagers riding on the outcome, so I have been cheered by Team Romney’s meteoric rise in the polls recently. I understand the wisdom of Yogi Berra’s observation that it’s not over till it’s over. Harold Wilson was surely right that a week is a long time in politics. (I wish I was half as confident. ~Bob.)

Excerpt: August 10, 2012, marked the 1,200th day that the Obama administration has been running the United States of America without any approved budget and without any coherent foreign policy. It is no wonder that last September, when terrorists assassinated our ambassador to Libya and three of his subordinates, the White House scurried for cover behind Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice. Both initially went out of their way to persuade the country that we were not dealing with terrorism, and when that didn’t fly, blamed the intelligence community.

Obama Provides Putin ‘Flexibility’ On Ukraine. By Ben Shapiro
Excerpt: Back in March, President Obama told outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he hoped Russia would give him “space” until after the election – at which point Obama and the United States would provide Russia with “flexibility.” So much for waiting; the Obama administration is already providing flexibility, with Russian quasi-dictator Vladimir Putin presiding over Russia’s latest nuclear arsenal tests. ….But the Obama administration does speak up when it comes to regional leaders who could fall into either the Russian camp or the American camp.

Team Obama Signs Up Foreign Donor For Volunteer Events--Without His Knowledge. By Tony Lee
Excerpt: A British national who donated $10 to the Obama campaign, despite laws prohibiting the acceptance of foreign contributions, told Breitbart News he is now receiving e-mails from the Obama campaign thanking him for signing up for "get out the vote" and phone banking events for which he never volunteered….Because of the Obama campaign's lax online security measures, which the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) has thoroughly detailed, those donations got through. After he made those donations, Walker said he received three e-mails this weekend from the Obama campaign thanking him for signing up for phone banking events in DodgevilleIowa, and City of Industry, California. (Who needs laws? Down and dirty, any way they can. --Barb.)

Spinning Benghazi. By Thomas Joscelyn
Excerpt: On September 26, during a speech at the U.N. , Secretary of State Hillary Clinton connected the attack to al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and its allies inside Libya. AQIM and “other groups” have a “larger safe haven” and “increased freedom to maneuver,” Clinton warned. This allows them “to extend their reach and their networks in multiple directions.”

Destroying Obama’s foreign policy credibility in three easy steps. By David Cohen
Excerpt: For two weeks, Obama and his subordinates peddled the nonsense that the September 11 attack on our Benghazi consulate — which killed our ambassador and three other Americans — was the result of a spontaneous demonstration over an anti-Islamic video…. That fig leaf can be concisely blown away: The State Department, according to sworn testimony, was in real-time communication with the Benghazi consulate during the attack. (As I suspected from a post in Comments on Breitbart a couple weeks ago….Barb)

Islamist radicals find warm welcome in Obama White House, By Neil Munro
Excerpt: Members of CAIR were invited to the White House, even though an April 2009 FBI statement said the bureau “does not view CAIR as an appropriate liaison partner” because of its ties to the Hamas jihadi group. Administration officials also invited Syrian-born Louay Safi to the White House twice in 2011, even though he had been named an unindicted co-conspirator in two terrorism cases, and had been barred from Fort Hood following the 2009 jihadi attack by a Muslim U.S. Army major. In contrast, White House officials have not invited Zuhdi Jasser, an Arizona-based, American-born moderate Muslim and former Navy officer.

Clinton Guru Helping Labor Unseat Netanyahu: Democratic strategist Stanley Greenberg, reportedly behind "social protests," hired for Labor campaign. By Gil Ronen
Excerpt: The Labor party has hired Stanley Greenberg, a leading Democratic political strategist, to direct its campaign in the upcoming elections for Knesset. The move may be part of a Democratic plan to topple Binyamin Netanyahu's government and replace it with a leftist one, although there is no proof that Democratic politicians are involved.

My son is schizophrenic. The 'reforms' that I worked for have worsened his life. By Paul Gionfriddo

Excerpt: Tim is homeless. But when he was a toddler, my colleagues in the Connecticut state legislature couldn’t get enough of cuddling him. Yet it’s the policies of my generation of policymakers that put that formerly adorable toddler — now a troubled 6-foot-5 adult — on the street. And unless something changes, the policies of today’s generation of policymakers will keep him there.

Humanitarian aid is part of the reason US exports to Iran rise as sanctions stiffen. Aid includes Coca-Cola, Kraft cheese – and popcorn. By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
Excerpt: What is defined as humanitarian aid? Apparently, cigarettes. Rohrlich wrote that Phillip Morris received a license to sell cigarettes to Iranians, and Kraft Foods was given permission to export, among other items, cheese, cake mix and mayonnaise. Last, if not least, Iranians can munch on Jolly Time popcorn, thanks to permission to the American Pop Corn company to export the snack as a humanitarian food exception.

Obama to Appeal to Voters on 'Tonight Show.' By Rachel Hirshfeld
Excerpt: President Obama is set to appear on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” later this week, in yet another attempt to appeal to undecided voters. The president will head to BurbankCalifornia on Wednesday to tape his fifth appearance on the popular NBC late night talk show—his third since taking office. NBC News Anchor Brian Williams is also set to spend two days following the president on the campaign trail and, according to the network, will conduct multiple interviews with Obama and get "rare, exclusive access."

Saudi Arabia Arrests 14 Iranian Infiltrators. By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
Excerpt: The Saudi coast guard has arrested14 Iranians trying to infiltrate on an Iranian boat. …. “Coast guard boats chased the boat that dropped them and his driver was arrested. ….Saudi Arabia has thwarted several attempts by foreigners to carry out terrorist attacks, and the oil-rich kingdom is known to be highly concerned over the prospect of a nuclear Iran. The Islamic Republic has repeatedly stated it wants to establish an Islamic state throughout the Middle East.

How to Abandon Our Bravest Citizens in a War Zone Hugh de Payns
Excerpt: Watching a video of a consulate being overrun while a credible defensive response is almost immediately available is criminally negligent. Late last week, CBS News reported that several significant military options were available and very, very nearby.

Job Benefits Growing Faster than Wages
Excerpt: While employees complain that their wages remain stagnant, they fail to realize the increase in benefits their employers have begun to offer, says USA Today. ... The primary reason for why benefits are rising faster than wages is because of taxes. Wages are heavily taxed for both the employee and the employer, while benefits are not. Since the financial crisis in 2007, employers have reacted by slowing the growth of wages so as to keep taxes lower.

Gas Prices Doubled, Obama Locks Up National Reserve
Excerpt: As the administration fast-tracks solar projects on public lands, it has locked up more than half of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska, preferring to continue outsourcing energy jobs and dollars. The price of gasoline, which was $1.84 a gallon the day President Obama took office, has more than doubled since, willfully aided and abetted by an administration that claims we can't drill our way to energy independence as we ignore vast reserves of North American energy that dwarf OPEC's and we sit on 100 years' supply of petroleum.

Excerpt: The text of a 2008 op-ed on the auto-bailout by Republican nominee Mitt Romney debunks attacks by President Barack Obama, who accused Romney of changing his position during the third and final presidential debate on Monday night.

Worth Sharing: The Ties that Biden. By Charlie Gasparino
Excerpt: Since November 2010, James Biden has been the executive vice president of Hill International’s housing subsidiary despite little if any documented work history in residential construction. And if the company’s projections are accurate, both Hill and Biden are on the verge of a huge payday, beneficiaries, some analysts believe, of James Biden’s connections to the Obama Administration through his older brother. (Show me your shocked face. ~Bob.)

Obama: ‘This Nation. Me.’
Excerpt: "So across the board we are engaging them in building capacity in these countries and we have stood on the side of democracy. One thing I think Americans should be proud of: when Tunisians began to protest, this nation, me, my administration, stood with them earlier than just about any other country."

Community Organizing Foreign Policy. By Sonnie Johnson
Excerpt: If you look at the poverty, unrest, violence, and social breakdown in Obama's "community organized" Chicago, is there any wonder why the Middle East is on fire with him in the White House? The same policies that have led to more deaths on the streets of a single American city than a warzone abroad are now being used to assist the overthrow of American allies in the Middle East and to negotiate with our enemies--as in the recently announced, and denied, one-on-one talks with Iranian president Mahmoud Amedinajad, and Obama's promise of more "flexibility" with Vladimir Putin in Russia on missile defense. Four years after Obama left Chicago, there is no real hope and change. (Hey, all of America’s enemies—we thought—like him and would vote for him: Chavez, Castro, Putin, Ahmadinejad…Barb)

Study declares Obama winner of 'interruption debate'
Excerpt: “President Obama may have benefited in the short run by adopting a much more aggressive style,” said Robert Lichter, president of the nonprofit, non-partisan organization. “But so many interruptions push the boundaries of civility in political debate.”
Is Al-Qaeda Defeated? By Clifford D. May
Excerpt: At the Aspen Security Forum this past summer, Peter Bergen, CNN’s intrepid national-security analyst and a director at the New America Foundation, gave a talk titled: “Time to Declare Victory: Al Qaeda Is Defeated.”
Since then, AQ and/or its affiliates have launched lethal attacks on American diplomatic compounds in Libya and Yemen, hoisted an al-Qaeda flag above the U.S. embassy in Cairo, resurged in Iraq, and put boots on the ground in Syria. (But, but, Obama said al Qaeda was “on its heels” and “on the run.” ~Bob.)

Excerpt: Why is it that when the Obamas made one of their frequent visits to “The View” and Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked Barack a legitimate question, instead of replying, he turned his back on her and gave Barbara Walters a kiss and wished her a happy birthday, and the audience, instead of booing his rudeness and arrogance, gave him a rousing round of applause?

THUGS ATTACK: Young Romney Supporter Brutally Beaten in Wisconsin
Excerpt: The son of a Republican state senator in Wisconsin was brutally attacked and beaten on Friday morning by two thugs attempting to steal his Romney-Ryan yard sign in Whitewater, Wisconsin. In a statement released on Monday, Sen. Neal Kedzie described his son’s ordeal in horrific terms. Sean Kedzie, the senator’s son, spent Friday night in the hospital suffering from serious injuries to his head. (Show me your shocked face. In 2004 in Madison, they were stealing Bush lawn signs and burning swastikas into the lawn with weed killer [Source: Wisconsin State Journal] and keying cars with Bush bumper stickers [Source: our car.] All the while complaining that bush was trashing the Constitution. ~Bob.)

Excerpt: Probably the culprits are the Obama-backed democracy-loving Syrian rebels.

Didn’t get the memo. ~Bob.

Pakistan: Christian teenager held for blasphemy after Muslim mob ransacks, destroys his home
Excerpt: A Muslim mob ransacked the home of a 16-year-old Christian boy accused of sending a blasphemous text message; he has been charged with Pakistan’s most serious “blasphemy” offence, which carries the death penalty.

Egyptians: We Want Nuclear Bombs and to Break Treaty with Israel. By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
The results of the Obama-supported “Arab Spring,” even as he says he “stands with Israel.” ~Bob. Excerpt: Eighty-seven percent of the respondents want Egypt to have its own nuclear bomb, and Iran is more than happy to lend Cairo a hand. "We are ready to help Egypt to build nuclear reactors and satellites," Iran’s deputy defense minister said when Muslim Brotherhood Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi visited Iran last month.

Afghan 'Woman of Courage' hailed by Michelle Obama for defending women's rights has actually JAILED 100 wives for 'adultery'
Excerpt: Ms Bashir has been lauded by both Michelle Obama and Hilary Clinton - and she was one of ten women to receive a 'Women of Courage' Award in Washington last year. But Maria Bashir's reputation is now in doubt after the Times revealed that Ms Bashir is also the most prolific prosecutor of women for Afghanistan's so-called 'moral' crimes, such as adultery. (But she apparently she didn't have them stoned to death in accord with Islamic law. So relax: she's a "moderate." --Robert Spencer, JihadWatch.com.)

Report: Obama Recognizes Iran’s Right To Go Nuclear, By William Bigelow
Excerpt: The FARS News Agency (FNA), which has semi-official ties to the Iranian government according to Reuters, reported on Saturday that Swiss Ambassador to Tehran Livia Leu Agosti acknowledged during a meeting with senior Iranian foreign ministry officials that Barack Obama recognizes Iran's right of access and use of nuclear technology. (This has been regime agenda all along. –Barb.)

Big Business Is Not Conservative. By Dennis Prager
http://jewishworldreview.com/1012/prager102312.php3#.UIbDH2883Kg
Excerpt: Stephen Moore, of the Wall Street Journal's editorial board, reported Friday that the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Arizona, Congressman Jeff Flake, has little support among some powerful big businessmen in Arizona: (Too much corporate welfare. ~Bob.)

http://www.businessinsider.com/south-africa-unemployment-crisis-strikes-2012-10?op=1#ixzz2A8qSY0q6
Excerpt: South Africa, which emerged from apartheid as one of the most exciting economic stories on the African continent, has lately descended into crisis. (Well, they are also losing their most competent people, as educated whites and educated blacks flee the country to avoid the violence that followed black rule. More would flee if they had a place to go, or the cash to get there. ~Bob.)

Worth Reading: Mitt Romney’s ‘peace’ strategy. By Kathleen Parker
Excerpt: The real point of Romney’s rendition of commander in chief was to reveal himself as the stalwart of this nation’s power to promote peace and freedom through strength, character and an unyielding defense of American principles.

NOW SUDAN advocates GIRL CHILD MARRIAGE! (not to mention the 2009 Fatwa endorsing female circumcision!). By Greta Van Susteren
Now, now, don’t get Islamophobic. Remember that “all cultures are equally valid” to good progressives. ~Bob.)

City of Milwaukee Disregarded Ineligible Voter List on First Day of Early Voting
Excerpt: During early voting on Monday, Milwaukee election officials did not check newly registered voters against a Department of Corrections list of felons who are ineligible to vote, the MacIver News Service has learned. (Felons for Obama is another reason we must win by 5%. ~Bob.)

Pension Showdown Brewing in California. By Walter Russell Mead
Excerpt: The Wall Street Journal reports that San Bernardino, which filed for bankruptcy two months ago, has missed a $5.3 million payment to Calpers, the state pension fund, and is projected to miss further payments in the future. This is the first time a California city has refused to make its payments. Amid the subsequent confusion, both sides are digging in their heels:

Romney graduated 1st in class with a 3.97 GPA in '71, BHO no one knows.

Election Prediction
I have been predicting a convincing win for Romney for some time. I can now provide quasi-scientific evidence that this will happen. (My methodology comes from Peter Lynch--investing in what you see around you). Amazingly, here in the 9th congressional district of Illinois, otherwise known as Schakowsky SSR, I have seen but a handful of Obama 2012 yard signs, where there was a forest of such signs in '08. I can only conclude that former supporters and voters are disaffected and/or disappointed, if not Romney enthusiasts. Some will vote quietly according to their belief that Romney is another Bush and vote for Comrade Jan and her Madigan minions down ballot. I suspect many others will stay home. I have actually seen more Obama signs in the 10th, now represented by Republican Congressman Bob Dold. (Is guilt directly proportional to wealth?) However, one yard sign for Obama '08 that has weathered the weather and other elements for 4 years, still stands and has not been replaced. Given the lack of enthusiasts for Obama in the ecosystem where he is presumably dominant, I conclude that the 55-36 drubbing of Romney predicted by the Chicago Tribune for Illinois is bad sampling and bad judgment. I think Romney will swing most of the swing states and will more than 300 electoral votes. Cordially, Larry Greenberg. (I hope you are right, but I’m worried. ~Bob.)

Feds to probe possible voter fraud in Florida
Excerpt: Officials in Florida have issued a warning about a new trick trying to prevent voters from going to the polls. Voters are getting letters that look like they are from local elections offices, questioning their citizenship. But Local 6 has learned the letters are fake, and they are going out across Central Florida and other parts of the state. Officials said the voters who have received the letters thus far are white, registered Republicans who consistently vote in elections. (Sure Eric Withholder’s DOJ will investigate this. ~Bob.)

Democratic Polling Firm PPP: Romney 49, Obama 47
Excerpt: A few notable things here beyond that. Obama's favorable/unfavorable is underwater, 47-49. Romney's is above water and ahead of Obama's: 50/45. With women he's 47/47. Obama's well underwater with men, though, 41-55.

Allen West: Everything is at Stake in This Election. By Katie Pavlich
Excerpt: The NRCC is out with a new video as part of their "This is Our America" campaign which spotlights stories from conservative candidates around the country. The most recent release features Lt. Col. Allen West explaining the exceptionalism of the American Dream and how it needs to be protected for future generations.

Excerpt: Today the U.S. Navy must prepare for two major wars–one against Iran in the Persian Gulf, the other against China in the Western Pacific–while also combating piracy off the coast of Africa, dealing with unexpected wars such as the one in Libya last year, supporting ground operations in Afghanistan and other theaters, combating drug runners in the Caribbean, and showing the flag in the Mediterranean, Indian Ocean, and other seas. The operational tempo dictated by these requirements is terrific, as I have seen for myself in the last few years in visits to the 5th Fleet in the Persian Gulf and the 7th Fleet in Japan.

Actor Rob Schneider Can't Support Obama Again
Excerpt: "As a Democrat," he said, "there is no way I can support Obama for a second term."

Voter tells Biden he's a 'good guy' but bad VP
Excerpt: "Before that, I told him to enjoy his last couple of months," the man, who declined to give his name, said. "Just because you're a good guy doesn't mean you're a good vice president."

Thinking Iran — It’s the Regime, Not the Nukes
Excerpt: The potential that Iran could get nuclear weapons adds urgency to the problem, but it is not the problem per se. The Pakistanis have nukes — we’re not thrilled about that, but it does not keep us up at night. The problem posed by Iran is the regime, not the nukes. (In my opinion, regardless of what we in the USA choose to think, Iran HAS BEEN AT WAR WITH US since November 5th, 1979. I have no expectation that this will change unless the Iranian government is changed radically, perhaps by surgery. We had an opportunity to move in exactly that direction with Iran’s Green Revolution in 2009. Not only did the administration not support the Greens, we announced loudly and firmly that we wanted no part of helping them. For that reason alone—as if I had no others, HAH!—I would vote AGAINST OBAMA and/or Hillary Clinton. I may even do it by “early voting” on the 33rd anniversary of their seizure of our embassy in Tehran. On second thought, I’d better do it sooner; I could get hit by a bus before 5 November. Ron P.)

Excerpt: "We know that Pakistan has arrested the doctor who helped us catch Obama bin Laden," Schieffer said.

Worth Sharing: Crossroads GPS: "Mitt and David"

Despite the issue garnering a significant amount of media interest as well as the attention of the Secret Service, Obama supporters continued their threats to riot and assassinate Mitt Romney if Obama loses in the aftermath of last night’s presidential debate.

ObamaCare IPAB 2017-Only Repeal Seen Unconstitutional. By David Hogberg
Excerpt: Mitt Romney has vowed to repeal ObamaCare should he win on Nov. 6 and if Republicans control the House and Senate. But the health law makes it virtually impossible to get rid of its Independent Payment Advisory Board — so much so that critics say that the wording violates Congress' constitutional powers.

Obama Aides ‘Pissed Off’ About Anita Dunn. By James Warren
Excerpt: White House and campaign officials privately are voicing chagrin and surprise over the extent of presidential confidante Anita Dunn’s extensive consulting work for firms lobbying the administration on policies and regulations at the very time she is a key reelection adviser. (Just once more, show me our shocked face. ~Bob.)

Stop Slavery: halt US support to the Mauritanian government. By Dr. Mamadou Sy
Excerpt: The West African country of Mauritania has recently been back on the spotlight because of the recent CNN report on the continued practice of slavery and human rights violations. Mauritania is the last place on earth where you can still buy and sell a human being. An estimated 10-20% of the population lives in slavery. (Probably not true. Girls trafficked for sex slavery in many countries—sometimes in the US. ~Bob.)
