Request for PDF of Collapse from a Bootneck
I received a request for a PDF of my book, The Coming Collapse of the American Republic, from a Royal Marine vet, who now does a lot of military training. He responded, “Roger that brother, will hopefully get some downtime this weekend and read it, currently on a Anti-Piracy gig off the coast of Somalia... shithole..... but pays the bills.... My Unit’s motto was 'By Stealth and Guile.' Cheers. –Doc.”

Important: Signs Suggest Iran Is Speeding Up Work on Nuclear Program
Excerpt: International nuclear inspectors will soon report that Iran has installed hundreds of new centrifuges in recent months and may also be speeding up production of nuclear fuel while negotiations with the United States and its allies have ground to a near halt, according to diplomats and experts briefed on the findings. (Weather forecast for Tel Aviv, New York City and Washington, DC: 10,000 degrees and bright. ~Bob.)

Worth Reading: For how much can you now buy Iran's nuclear warhead? By Joseph Zaalishvili
Excerpt: With each passing day Iran and the Islamic world come closer to developing nuclear weapons. Is this so hard to see? Is it not clear that Iran's nuclear program was not created for peaceful purposes?

Why an Israeli Strike on Iran Will Happen Before the Election. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: If Israel jets show up in Iranian airspace, it will most likely happen while Obama is too busy accusing Mitt Romney of secretly storing all his money in a giant cave in the Rocky Mountains to do more than dispatch a flunky to chew out Netanyahu over the phone. The election is the perfect window for a strike on Iran’s nuclear program, because Team Obama will be too tied down on the Romney Front to do much damage to Israel. (Could change the election outcome—but I have no idea which way. ~Bob.)

Israel Contemplates: What If America Doesn’t Come Through? By P. David Hornik
Excerpt: In Israel’s internal debate for and against attacking Iran’s nuclear program, the basic dividing line is between those who put their trust in the United States/international community to take care of the problem and those who do not. (That is, between Pollyannas who trust Obama and realists. ~Bob.)

As UN Head Travels to Iran, Abbas Pledges No Jews In Jerusalem. By Ronn Torossian
Excerpt: “Jerusalem is a Muslim and Christian city, and there will be neither peace nor security until the Israeli occupation, settlements, and settlers leave the city,” Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Tuesday. “Jerusalem’s identity is Arab, and the city’s and Christian holy sites must be protected from Israeli threats.” He added that Israeli excavation work in Jerusalem and in the Western Wall tunnels beneath the mosque “will not undermine the fact that the city will forever be Arabic, Islamic and Christian.” Abbas concluded that “there will be no peace or stability before our beloved city and eternal capital is liberated from occupation and settlement.” (Once they solve “the Jewish question,” count on them extirpating the Christians as well. Then other Muslims who don’t believe exactly right. ~Bob.)

Immigration agents sue to stop Obama’s non-deportation policy
Excerpt: Saying they’re fed up with being told they can’t do their jobs, 10 immigration agents on Thursday sued the Obama administration to try to halt the president’s new non-deportation policy and an earlier memo instructing them not to go after rank-and-file illegal immigrants.

'Outraged' judge frees veteran Raub from Virginia psych ward
http://times247.com/articles/32virginia-veteran-raub-freed-from-psychiatric-ward7
Excerpt: A former Marine who was forced into a psychiatric ward for anti-government Facebook postings has been freed from the hospital by a Virginia circuit court ruling handed down Thursday. Judge Allan Sharrett dismissed the case against Brandon Raub, 26, who had been detained by government officials in Richmond, Va., and transferred to a VA hospital in Salem, Va. The judge called the petition to continue Raub's forced detention “so devoid of any factual allegations that it could not be reasonably expected to give rise to a case or controversy.” (I don’t agree with his views, and I’m not a big law suit guy, but I hope he takes them to court and it hurts. If he’d been a member of the NBPP, he could have called for all kinds of violence and revolution, and been protected by everyone from the DOJ to the ACLU. ~Bob.)

Excerpt: Unless growth in the economy exceeds credit expansion plus population expansion (since GDP is reported gross and not “per-capita”) such credit expansionary policies in fact move the common man’s standard of living backward, and the more “accommodation” you provide the more backward movement takes place! This is a function of basic arithmetic, and yet there is no evidence — anywhere — that The Fed’s policies up to this point have done anything except replace private unbacked credit emission (that is, mathematically counterfeiting) with government credit emission. (I don't know enough about this stuff to judge. I worry that no one does... ~Bob.)

Will Obama Keep Power 'by Any Means Necessary'? By Stella Paul
http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/08/will_obama_keep_power_by_any_means_necessary.html
Excerpt: Let's go there: if Obama thinks he's losing, will he allow safe and fair elections on November 6? And if he does lose, will he peacefully turn over power to Mitt Romney on January 20, 2013? Or will he cling to power "by any means necessary," as a highly placed insider alleges? (This is, I think--or at least hope--unfounded alarmism. But I didn't include the first few items I was sent about Fast and Furious, because I thought they had to be bull--no government agency of ours could be both that evil and that stupid, even under Obama and AG Eric Withholder. I was wrong. Really wrong. So now I'm skeptical of my skepticism. ~Bob.)

Interesting: Syria: Why al-Qaeda Is Winning: Unnoticed by the West, al-Qaeda is seizing a golden opportunity. By Ed Husain
Excerpt: The territory in the Middle East that al-Qaeda covets most is of course Saudi Arabia, but Syria is next on the list. Now, Syria is not Syria to jihadis, but part of Bilaad al-Shaam, what the region was called when borders did not divide the lands we now call Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and, crucially, Israel and the Palestinian territories. To al-Qaeda, these modern-day countries are based on artificial borders created after the First World War by the British and French, descendants of the eleventh-century Crusaders who occupied Jerusalem.

Ed Husain is corrupt and a charlatan. Anyone who takes him seriously (or offers him a platform) is not serious. @ChallahHuAkbar Retweeted by Robert Spencer (Spencer runs the very valuable JihadWatch.com. You should follow it. ~Bob.)

Excerpt: General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, has spoken out in criticism of various retired officers, many of them from special forces, for drawing on their military bona fides in voicing displeasure over the Obama administration’s serial leaks (the details of the Osama bin Laden raid, the drone protocols, the cyberwar against Iran, the Yemeni double agent, etc.).

How I became George Obama's 'brother.' By Dinesh D'Souza
Excerpt: Actually, George has a real life brother who just happens to be the president of the United States. (George Obama is the youngest of eight children sired by Barack Obama Sr.) George’s brother is a multimillionaire and the most powerful man in the world. Moreover, George’s brother has framed his re-election campaign around the “fair share” theme that we owe obligations to those who are less fortunate.

Lawyer for MF Global Victims: Holder's DOJ 'Biggest Enabler Of Financial Crime In U.S. History'
Not to mention immigration crimes, voter intimidation crimes, voter fraud crimes, gun sales crimes, racial discrimination, perjury before Congress and murder of foreign nationals and US agents. ~Bob.

Obama policy could put solar 'poster boy' out of business
Excerpt: Today, Keith's solar star appears to be on a collision course with another Obama policy that may put him out of business. The irony is not lost on Keith: A man whose profile and company soared because of the administration's energy policy is now falling apart because of a new Obama anti-dumping policy involving China. (Interesting for CNN to cover. ~Bob.)

Plastic Bag Bans Lead to E-coli Deaths. By Walter Russell Mead
Excerpt: One green pet cause du jour is the banning or taxing of disposable plastic bags at supermarkets and other grocery stores. These measures, which are designed to encourage shoppers to use their own reusable tote bags, have been spreading widely in recent years, and have already gone into effect in cities like San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. (So? results don't matter as long as liberals get to feel good about their good intentions to save the environment. What's a few dead next to that? ~Bob.)

Pew: 71% Of Romney Coverage On Network News Is Negative
Excerpt: Pew found that "42% of the character narrative" about Obama was positive on mainstream media networks (ABC, NBC, CBS) while 58% was negative. For Romney, only 29% of the narrative was positive compared to 71% that was negative. (Surprising. Only a 13 point gap in negative coverage in the Leftist Media. We're doing good. ~Bob.)

Hope and change evaporates: Four years after he was swept to victory, how Obama's election campaign is a joyless slog. By Toby Harnden
Excerpt: What a difference four years makes. Obama is campaigning ferociously for a second term – and he is a candidate who would have probably have been disdained by the Obama of 2008. (Not really. Just the Chicago Way has had to come out from behind the mask of 2008 a bit, as things have gotten screwed up. ~Bob.)

Bad news Barack: Electoral College computer model that's correctly predicted presidential elections since 1980 shows big WIN for Romney
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2192464/Bad-news-Obama-Electoral-College-model-correctly-predicted-presidential-elections-1980-opts-ROMNEY.html#ixzz24QNp50Xw
Excerpt: Political science professors Kenneth Bickers and Michael Berry’s study predicts 218 electoral votes for President Obama and 320 for Romney with the Republican candidate winning every seat currently considered to be on the fence.
Excerpt: U.S. Anti-Doping Agency chief executive Travis Tygart says the agency will ban Lance Armstrong from cycling for life and strip him of his seven Tour de France titles for doping. Armstrong on Thursday night dropped any further challenges to USADA’s allegations that he took performance-enhancing drugs to win cycling’s premier event from 1999 to 2005.

Worth Reading: Saving the American Dream
Excerpt: Health and retirement benefits were created to provide a generation of Americans a safety net by which they live comfortably today. Entitlement programs such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are popular programs, but politicians promised them with no way of paying for them. These programs are at risk given the condition of the economy, says the Heritage Foundation. U.S. debt held by the public is nearly 70 percent the gross domestic product. Medicare and Social Security face $40 trillion in unfunded obligations. That amounts to about $200,000 per person. (Have I mentioned that a collapse is coming? I did? Oh, sorry, go back to sleep. ~Bob.)

Greenpeace activists storm Russian oil rig
Excerpt: Greenpeace activists have stormed a floating oil rig in Russia's Pechora Sea, hundreds of miles (kilometers) from the nearest port, to protest oil drilling in the Arctic, the environmental organization said Friday. (More balls than brains. There is no “Russian Civil Liberties Union” and they do not play nice. ~Bob.)

Drone attacks kill 16 in Pakistan: officials
Excerpt: The attacks targeted three walled compounds in the Shawal Valley, which is in the South Waziristan region on the border with Afghanistan, the officials said. The area has long been known as a sanctuary for militants.

Worth Reading: Strassel: The Silent Second-Term Agenda
Excerpt: President Obama has a reputation for talking, but not necessarily for saying much. He has achieved new levels of vagueness this election season. Beyond repeating that he's in favor of making the "rich" pay for more government "investment," he hasn't offered a single new idea for a second term. This is deliberate. The core of the Obama strategy is to make Americans worry that whatever Mitt Romney does, it will be worse. (If you hit a pay wall, Google the title. ~Bob.)

Christian boy (11) tortured and killed in Pakistan
Didn’t get the “Islam is a Religion of Peace” memo. Or maybe it was spelled “pieces.” ~Bob. Excerpt: Human rights campaigners condemned the killing of Samuel Yaqoob whose burned and tortured body was discovered on Eid, the celebration which marks the end of the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan. His lips and nose had been sliced off, his stomach removed and there was evidence that his legs had been mutilated too.

Going beyond ‘Air-Sea Battle.’ By Michael O’Hanlon and James Steinberg
Excerpt: The new concept of American overseas military operations known as “Air-Sea Battle” has come under scrutiny and criticism. Popular with the Air Force and Navy, it has been construed as an aggressive policy, and some in the Pentagon see it as a way for those two services to grab budget share away from the Army. Across Asia, especially in China, many view it as a way for the United States to challenge a rising People’s Republic.

Fox News poll of likely voters: Romney 45, Obama 44
Excerpt: Romney leads by nine points among seniors and by 10 points among independents, and Romney voters are 11 points more likely to be “extremely” interested in the election than Obama supporters and 10 points more likely to say it’s “extremely” important that their candidate wins. Second look at optimism?

Obama's Risky Convention Gambit: Four days of slash-and-burn attacks on the GOP and an emphasis on abortion in Charlotte could quickly be overshadowed by a bad unemployment report. By Mark Hemingway
Excerpt: Now let's look at the calendar. The Democratic convention is being held in Charlotte, September 3 through September 6, with Obama accepting the nomination that final night. Unemployment reports are released the first Friday of every month, so next unemployment report comes out... the morning of September 7. If it's another dismal report—and again, the odds are that it will be nothing to celebrate—it could step all over the news coming out of the convention. (The media Obots will just ignore it. ~Bob.)

Excerpt: While liberal activists like the Rev. Jesse Jackson are calling for more gun laws in response to the spike in violent crimes in Chicago, a poll indicates that residents are largely not blaming the violence on the notion there are too many guns on the streets.
The main reason for the spate in crime, they say, are gangs. (And the gangs are a product of inner-city culture, which we can’t talk about because it’s “racist,” even though a black spokesman for Chicago Ceasefire pointed out on the local news that 85% of the Chicago murders are blacks murdered by blacks, not be “white Hispanics” or anyone else. Speaking as a Chicago area resident, I wish I had access to a gun when I’m outside my home. Taking my oxygen tank and the folding knife I carry to a gun fight would be an embarrassing social lapse. ~Bob.)

Media "Fact Checkers" Promote Obama's Gutting of Welfare Reform
Excerpt: Since Heritage's Robert Rector and Kiki Bradley broke the story on July 12 that the Obama Administration had gutted the work requirements from the 1996 welfare reform law, the Administration has denied it. In recent weeks, media "fact checks" have popped up all over declaring The Heritage Foundation's scoop "False." Major media—most recently, CNN—have carried water for President Obama's defense of rewriting the welfare reform law. Since these supposed government watchdogs are playing the lapdog, Heritage will continue to provide the facts and do the investigative reporting.

Reckless Lunacy. By Oliver North
Excerpt: Americans following this year's presidential campaign would never know it from mainstream media coverage, but the commander in chief we hired four years ago has set the United States on a course for unilateral disarmament. The following people hope you won't notice until after Nov. 6: Vladimir Putin, Liang Guanglie, Kim Jong-un, Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Sayyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, A.Q. Khan and of course, Barack Obama.

"Clean Energy" Is Obama-Speak for Crony Government. By Michelle Malkin
Excerpt: Breaking news: The Fishwrap of Record has finally discovered that the Obama administration gives its Chicago corporate pals special access to power and regulatory favoritism. On Thursday, The Not-So-New York Times published an A1 story titled "Ties to Obama Aided in Access for Big Utility." Everyone, put on your shocked faces!

Obama’s Dirty Campaigning Takes Unprecedented Turn. By Jacob Laksin
Excerpt: Presidential nomination conventions traditionally have been governed by a ceasefire: Out of courtesy and tradition, the rival party yields the national stage to the nominating party. That tradition is now being cast aside by President Obama, who, along with his Democratic Party surrogates, is poised to launch what The Hill calls a “full-scale assault on Republicans” as they gather in Tampa, Florida, next week. Hope and change, meet slash and burn.

The making of Paul Ryan
Excerpt: One good way to understand how 42-year-old Paul Ryan vaulted over a generation of politicians into the top tier of national Republican politics is to dive into some numbers. 190 times. That’s how often the Wisconsin lawmaker’s name appeared in the opinion pages of the Wall Street Journal between Election Day 2008—when a Republican rout at the polls left the conservative intelligentsia urgently looking for a new star—and the day this month when Mitt Romney tapped Ryan his running mate.

Muslim Dog Day Afternoon: Man with dog nabbed by Toronto police for offending nearby Muslims. By Arnold Ahlert
Excerpt: The Muslim proscription against "unclean" animals received state-enforced validation last Saturday in Toronto at the annual Al-Quds Day rally held in the city's Queen's Park. 47-year-old Allan Einstoss, who was accosted by a Muslim demonstrator while walking among the crowd with his dog, is considering legal action after being held by the police after the assault, while the man who attacked him was not even questioned. Police on the scene reportedly chastised Einstoss for being "insensitive" to the Muslim protestors with the presence of his canine companion in the public park. (Political Correctness: It’s not a good idea, but it’s the law. ~Bob.)

Obama asks eurozone to keep Greece in until after election day: US officials are worried that if Greece exits the eurozone, it will damage President's election hopes. By Oliver Wright
Excerpt: The Obama administration will pressure European governments not to let Greece fall out of the eurozone before November's Presidential elections, British Government sources have suggested.

Obama Botches Rank Of Top Navy SEAL...
Excerpt: President's latest slip-up was calling Admiral William McRaven a general. Comes days after he and Ohio State University students spelled Ohio 'O-I-H-O'
Excerpt: It’s been quite a week to be the author of The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America. Excerpt: My book was well received by the public and generously reviewed by some of the conservative press. In what passes for the “mainstream” media, however, it was mostly ignored and otherwise panned as Islamophobic hysteria. This was because the book had two themes that were deeply unpopular:

Excerpt: In 1957, Americans were pleased with America and proud of it. They had problems and knew it, but were undismayed. Less than twenty years later, that proud confidence was gone, crumbled like mud-bricks into flyblown clouds of dust. “No one knows which way to turn and which way to go,” wrote the great essayist (and lifelong optimist, patriot, liberal) E. B. White in 1975.

Massachusetts college sets up scholarship program for illegal immigrants
Excerpt: A liberal arts college in Amherst, Massachusetts has set up an endowment to help pay tuition for illegal immigrants. Hampshire College has already raised $350,000 for the endowment and plans to give its first scholarship to an illegal immigrant this fall, according to the Daily Hampshire Gazette. (Hampshire College was around when I was at U-Mass, Amherst 70-72. –Mass was far left, but Hampshire was only named that because “Loony Bin” was taken. ~Bob.)

Honors student, 17, who planned to study medicine at Harvard shot dead in her bed during home invasion
Excerpt: A 17-year-old Maryland honors student destined for Harvard University was shot to death in her own bed after a home invasion. Police in Prince George's County said that Amber Deanna Stanley was murdered when a male suspect kicked in the front door of her Kettering home around 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday and shot her multiple times in her bed. (Lovely, bright black girl. If the shooter turns out to be black, as in the vast majority of murders of decent black kids, no one but family will remember her name in a week. If he turns out to be white, the race baiters will be in full cry, and no one will ever forget her name. ~Bob.)

Report: Incomes Dropped More During Obama 'Recovery' Than Recession
Excerpt: American incomes declined more in the three-year expansion that started in June 2009 than during the longest recession since the Great Depression, according an analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data by Sentier Research LLC. (“Our [economic] plan worked! –Barack Obama.)

  1. I do not know what to make of the rumors that Dear Leader plans to stay in the White House "by any means necessary." While he may be willing to attempt such a gambit, does he have necessary resources? Aside from his street thugs and some flunkies in the Justice Department, who would follow him in an attempt to suspend the Constitution? He certainly has not done much to win the love and support of the military.
