Finally some good news, but...

The story the mainstream media longed to write….

Obama rescues Captain, Navy kills civilians

Demonstrating his amazing international virtuosity today, President Barack Obama walked across the water to rescue an American ship captain who had become separated from his vessel when he went fishing with local Muslims. Unfortunately, the US Military overreacted and in what can only be called “premeditated murder” shot and killed three of the Muslim fishermen.

President Obama apologized to the world, and to Muslims in particular, for the “wanton murder of three innocent fishermen.” Asked about reports that the Muslims had allegedly tried to seize the Captain’s ship, Obama said that, “Americans have to be more appreciative of other cultures where they have a long and rich tradition of spreading the wealth around, a lesson for our greedy free-market obsessed citizens who have more rigid views of ownership.”

Protests against the American military broke out across the world, with looting and a dozen deaths reported. European leaders praised the president, while condemning the “needless deaths” of the Muslim seafarers.

Here's what I wrote about dealing with the pirates, back in November, 2008:

And on the rescue, this Jarhead says, "Go Navy!"

  1. "And on the resuce, this Jarhead says, 'Go Navy!'"

I looked up "resuce" and found that it's an alternate spelling for "rescue".

  2. In your headline you accuse the Navy of "killing civilians" then at the end say "Go Navy!"

    That's some funny stuff.

When it goes good, as this did, you dump on the president. When it goes bad, of course, you dump on the president. So you're a bit like a robot and not responsive to stimulus. You just have one predictable goose stepping response.

    Pathetic.

  3. @Stan "That's some funny stuff."

Do you understand the concept of "irony", Stan? The Old Jarhead did not accuse the Navy of anything. He was facetiously presenting a headline the MSM "longed to write". Meanwhile the President's staff, not necessarily the President himself, is trying to grab some positive spin for the President for the heroic efforts of the Navy personnel on the scene.

    Pathetic.

  4. Gee Stan do we have to put a flashing sign that says "SARCASM" in front of a piece obviously written tongue in cheek? Are you one of those really sensitive folks who doesn't allow anything negative to be said about your man? Get a life Stan. We like to have a little fun here now and then. Hopefully when America wakes up in a few years and realizes the terrible mistake they have made we can throw out the current group of idiots and get back to the serious business of running the country while using our brains.

  5. CNN would probably be at the forefront of issuing a story along those lines since they won't call them "terrorists" anymore.

Mr. Obama did declare today that he will be 'tougher on piracy' now. Um, isn't the same guy who won't prove his citzenship in court? And also, didn't he release all those terrorists in Gitmo? Yeah, I thought so.

Actually, unlike you, I do. That's not irony, it's sarcasm. There is a difference. Look it up.

Hey Mickey, when I said "That's some funny stuff," I was being SARCASTIC. So who needs the flashing sign? You. That's ironic.

No, they still call people terrorists. It's the "war on terror" that is going away. These guys are pirates. There is a difference. Look it up.

"...isn't [Obama] the same guy who won't prove his citzenship in court?"

Before you have to prove something in court, you have a hearing. Your idiotic claim doesn't even make it to the "worthy of a hearing" stage. Nor does it pass the laugh test.

    SPARKY:
"And also, didn't he release all those terrorists in Gitmo? Yeah, I thought so."

Actually he didn't. You're lying. Suggestion: Don't do that.

Good job Obama. Contrast this with the profound inaction and incompetence of Bush:

    Nov, 2008:

"U.S. President George W. Bush has been briefed about increasing attacks by Somali pirates off east Africa, and the United States is consulting with other U.N. Security Council members on ways to combat the threat, the White House said on Wednesday.

Calling it a "a very complicated issue," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino gave no hint of what, if any, action the United States might take following the hijacking earlier this week of a Saudi supertanker with a $100 million oil cargo."

Do you understand the difference between a question and a declarative sentence? I do. And you're still pathetic.

    Stan:
Yes, not only do I understand the difference between sarcasm and irony I also know that questions are punctuated with a question mark. See the two questions above I just responded to.

Did you look up "irony" and learn what it means yet? (that's a question)

It's fun to learn new words. (declarative sentence)
