Excerpt: A new consensus is emerging, and it sounds a lot like what the president has said all along. ( It is long past time, by at least ten years if not 20, for us to take China's rise very, very seriously. Time to really tighten up on what we need to keep confidential in technology, even though so much of what's important is gone already. Time to show the people in Asia they don't have to kowtow and accept domination by China. But does anyone have the balls to get serious and start taking really serious steps? For instance, cutting out the PC crap in the Navy for a start, getting the ships updated and debugged and crewed with enough of the right people so they can be effective in promoting our interests?
