A Letter from a Working Person

Dear Chris Matthews,
build your own business and see if it feels like work.

Imagine my surprise to hear Chris Matthews, on his February 26 broadcast, enthusiastically announce that President Obama is “promising to tax the rich people in order to pay for health care for the working people.”
Dear Mr. Matthews: maybe you are a rich person who doesn’t earn your money and doesn’t work. Since I see you working on TV all the time, perhaps you secretly feel that cheerleading for Barack Obama isn’t really “work.” I’m willing to accept your critical self-assessment.
But I and all the other people I know earning over $250,000.00 a year – and into seven figures – well,we are definitely working people. Most of us work longer hours than our employees do, take more work home to do in evenings, and work more weekend hours than our employees do. Many of us travel and spend a great deal of time away from our families. Many of us bear enormous executive responsibility and the stress that comes with it.

  1. I couldn't have said it any better. I truely loved your opinion on being tired and sent to many people. Keep up the great work. And thank you. Thank you as well for what you did in 1970. You are a man of honor.

  3. Thank you for your comments of "being tired". We are all tired of this over liberal Government. People today have no pride in them selves will take all the hand outs and freebies never thinking some one else has worked to provide these.

  5. I,too am a Vietman vet and agree 100% with your "Im tired" comments and wonder just how long it will be that thoseof us who work for a living will no longer be able to afford to take care of our own families due to the money taken from us to support those who refuse to work? I have no problem helping those who cant do for themselves, but take great exception for those who think I owe them something, I currently work in an ER as a registered nurse and see this abuse daily. thanks for having the courage to publicaly say what many believe.

  6. Thank you for your past service & what you continue to do. You're expressing the feelings of millions of us who are not as eloquint with the pen as you are, and we appreciate it. It's tremendously satisfying to see many of my own feelings in print. I'm 59 and can relate to working hard, & honestly, for over 40 years and it's frustrating to watch soo many of the values that I grew up with slowly erode out from under our culture. There is no need to respond to my comment, you have more than enough to do. I just wanted to say "Thank You".

  7. I think Mr Mathews has a problem with math!! If he would stop cheerleading and look at the numbers, he may sing a different tune!!

Obama's pork package promises to create or maintain 3-3.5 million jobs. Great numbers until you see that there are reports of 4 million people who have already lost jobs.

Now if the jobs are primarily Union Construction work, then many of the 4 million will not find work in this package. So the package becomes simply a pay back for union support during the election!!

  8. I am tired of suckers like you falling victim to the false left vs right paradigm. Don't you understand that our entire political system is a fraud. The same globalist agenda is being shoved down our throats no matter what letter is behind the front man of the New World Order.

  10. At the risk of becoming a target of left wing hit squads, I as a veteran who faced down the russians can regretably say i fear my own elected officials more than i did the russians during the cuban blockade. The left wing traitors, cowardly press whores .the ignorant university and school personal, the brain dead self endulgent hollywood elite, led by such scum as barney ( hot bottom) frank Ted ( i cant swim) kennedy John( the coward) kerry al ( send me your money cuz i need a job) gore and all the rest of the tax cheats and corrupt worms in washington have brought to reality the prediction by Thomas Jefferson i believe that democracy shall live until selfish freeloaders find that they can vote themselves money. Gone is personal responsibility love of country and pride in america. Im 67 and like you i am tired... sick and tired... and mad as hell. Not at the sleeze that is elected but at the idiots that elected them.

  11. I am a 55 year old single women (n0w) who raised 4 children without welfare (I was married at the time)I have NO retirement, I recieve no assistance from the state, except for my medicade insurance, due to a disabiliy and I WORK 40 HOURS A WEEK. I am so tired of haveing the so called middle class talk about cutting corners, saving this way and saving that way to survive. Myself and others like me have been doing it for years. But where are our kudos, oh BTW I also am a college graduate. I just want to know when is the american people going to finally wake up, that the minute the working class people are no longer able to work, there will be no american, no taxes for the lazy, no more freebees for the people who believe we owe them...It is my belief, no workee, no eatee. I used to have change to be able to buy a simple thing like a soda, not any more, I don't have any change, thanks to the Obama Change Plan.
