China never has been a superpower and won't be anytime soon
I really hope this is valid, and that the exposure to the West will eventually undermine the system there so as to dilute their present ambition to become a dominant power. On the other hand, the government's ceaselss drive for ever more control mechanisms (millions of facial recognition cameras in cities to track everyone all the time?) is very unsettling. Time will tell. --Del
