Alien Technology

Astronomers to check interstellar body for signs of alien technology
Excerpt: Astronomers are to use one of the world’s largest telescopes to check a mysterious object that is speeding through the solar system for signs of alien technology. The Green Bank telescope in West Virginia will listen for radio signals being broadcast from a cigar-shaped body which was first spotted in the solar system in October. The body arrived from interstellar space and reached a peak speed of 196,000 mph as it swept past the sun.  (I first became aware of this a day or two after Thanksgiving [here’s a link to the first reference I saw:].  I read it quickly, with only half my brain and promptly forgot about it.  Cigar-shaped?  Moving at just over 1% of light-speed?  Clearly with an interstellar origin?  At least it’s not under power as far as we can tell.  This may be one of the fastest moving objects ever observed in our part of space.  Oh, the questions!!!!  If it changes course....  Links may not be live.  Ron P.)
