Lots of important political news and comment

Update

I think we got 6-8 inches, not bad. Minus two when I got up to go to rehab this morning. Expected to be minus 8 tonight. I did 1.3 miles on the treadmill in 30 minutes, plus back to normal on the four weight training machines I use. Eye is great--looking forward to having the right one done in April. ~Bob

General News and Comment

Worth Reading: If Hillary Clinton decides not to run in 2016, how bad would it be for Democrats? By Chris Cillizza
Excerpt: There’s a different dynamic at work now, particularly if Clinton waits a few more months to make clear exactly what she is going to do in 2016. We are rapidly approaching the point of no return for her and Democrats. That is, if she were suddenly to decide not to run in, say, two months, there would be an overwhelming sense of doom within the party. The shock would reverberate for weeks, or maybe much longer, making it hard for anyone looking to fill the void she left behind. Now, that doom would eventually be followed by a wild scramble among the Bidens, Martin O’Malleys and, yes, even Elizabeth Warrens of the party for the donors, activists and staffers who had been assumed to be part of the Clinton machine.

Colorado Wishes People On Welfare Would Stop Buying Pot! By Onan Coca
Excerpt: Scared of federal intervention, lawmakers in Colorado are working on a bill to prevent welfare users from accessing cash at ATM machines in marijuana shops. The policy of restricting access to certain ATMs already holds for liquor stores, casinos and guns ships, The Associated Press reports. Republican state Sen. Vicki Marble is worried that the federal government might aggressively interfere in Colorado if there’s any hint that welfare users are spending their benefits on drugs. The nascent pot industry has been plagued with rumors that low-income users with electronic benefits cards (EBTs) jumped on the opportunity to load up on marijuana. National Review Online found that over a six-month period ending in January 2014, welfare recipients withdrew $23,608.53 dollars at marijuana dispensaries. How much of that total was spent at marijuana shops is unknown. (So they withdraw cash elsewhere, then go to the pot shop, liquor store, casino or gun shop. Doesn't stop them, only makes it a little les convenient. ~Bob)

Scott Walker: ‘I Wouldn’t Bet Against Me on Anything.’ By Kate Scanlon
Excerpt: Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wis., is leading a new poll of likely Republicans voters in Iowa. So will he run for president?

Kentucky County Sees Instant Impact of Right-to-Work Law. By Ben Smith
Excerpt: Six weeks ago, a Kentucky county passed a right-to-work ordinance in hopes of attracting new businesses. It already appears to be working. Warren County, Ky., adopted the countywide right-to-work ordinance on Dec. 19, after it became clear the state wasn’t going to move in that direction. ... “When our local leaders came to us and said without right to work we are sending away 75 percent of out-of-town job prospects, I knew we had to act,” said Warren County Attorney Amy Milliken. “Since we passed the ordinance, in the past six weeks, we’ve had two site selectors and one international site selector.”

Vietnam’s concerted effort to keep control of its past. By Thomas A. Bass
Excerpt: Five years ago I began an experiment — not of my own devising — to study censorship in Vietnam. In 2009, I signed a contract to publish one of my books in Hanoi. Called “The Spy Who Loved Us,” the book tells the story of Pham Xuan An, Vietnam’s most celebrated journalist during the Vietnam War. (He ended his career as bureau chief for Time magazine in Saigon.) Only after the war did we learn that An had received a dozen military medals as a communist spy and served as North Vietnam’s deadliest secret weapon. One might think that a book about a “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” would be published in Vietnam without difficulty, but nothing is published in Vietnam without being censored. (What this reporter has discovered is not news at all to those of us who have followed the course the communists set, not just in 1975, but starting much earlier, in 1954. This is a logical part of an atheist state, where no rights come from God, all rights come from the state. And the state gets to protect itself in any and every way it sees fit, which includes heavy indoctrination of all children in school, control of the press, maintenance of all kinds of police forces that examine any and all details of the lives of anyone who comes to their interest, and a court system that is a rubber stamp for sending any dissident of any sort off to jail. When the people at the top are themselves totally corrupted by materialism, which makes a total travesty of the ideals of Marxism, then it all just gets worse. They become paranoid about any dissent, and tighten the controls even more. And censorship goes to the point where really stupid measures are taken, to ensure not the tiniest bit of unapproved information is ever seen by the people. Why should free men be aware of and fear the unchecked growth of the state? For very good reasons. --Del)

Excerpt: With uncounted strains of Islamic radicalism metastasizing across the globe like some new version of the Plague, lopping off heads with no antidote in sight, and the Iranian ayatollahs on the brink of nuclear weapons thanks to a U.S. administration that seems almost eager to help them get them (most recently apparently switching allegiance in the Syrian civil war to Iran’s client Assad), America, it has become evident, has no commander-in-chief, at least not one who is wholeheartedly (or even partially) on the side of the West. And the one we have — such as he is — humiliates our military on a practically daily basis, a sure prescription for defeat. Ten years ago if someone told you Shariah law would come to America, you would probably have shrugged, possibly even laughed. It isn’t so funny anymore. (I’m not laughing. They evidently lash bloggers.) (They don't lash bloggers who die with a gun in their hand. ~Bob)

Important: Anti-austerity anger sweeps from Greece to Spain as hundreds of thousands march through Madrid in support of fledgling radical leftist party
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2934527/Anti-austerity-anger-sweeps-Spain-hundreds-thousands-march-Madrid-support-fledgling-radical-leftist-party.html
Excerpt: Hundreds of thousands of people marched through Madrid today in a show of strength by a fledgling radical leftist party, as it becomes the latest European political organisation to gain widespread support for its anti-austerity stance. Podemos ('We Can') supporters from across Spain converged around the Cibeles fountain today before packing the avenue leading to Puerta del Sol square in what was the party's largest rally to date, as it hopes to emulate the success of Greece's Syriza party in the Spanish general election later this year. (The fiscal collapse gathers steam in Europe. "Apres libéralisme le deluge." ~Bob)

Pataki exploring 2016 White House run
Excerpt: Former New York Gov. George Pataki told Fox News on Monday he's "seriously" exploring a 2016 Republican bid for president. The former governor said he plans to travel to New Hampshire on Tuesday to meet with political figures and citizens, and "lay out my ideas" for the country.

First Steps for America: Text of Jindal speech 19 January 2015 to Henry Jackson Society in London
Excerpt: My objective in this speech is to speak clearly about what I believe to be America's proper role in international affairs; to speak bluntly about the nature of the threats we face and the recent tragic events in France; and to suggest what I think is the way forward. The first step for America, and for any nation that wants to protect its own freedom and encourage it everywhere is to have a strong economy. It all starts there. Without a strong economy, it at some point becomes impossible to build and sustain a strong military.

How the Democrats Plan to Defeat Scott Walker: Republicans should take note and not let them define him. By Michael Auslin
Excerpt: It’s hard to overestimate the importance of this Slate article, “Divide and Conquer,” by Jamelle Bouie. He has done the GOP a favor by revealing the Democratic party’s strategic plan for defeating Scott Walker in 2016: smearing him as a “divisive” candidate who will send dog whistles to his white supporters and seek to run the table with the still-majority white voters to win the White House. This article is the 2015 equivalent to the Zimmerman Telegram, and the GOP deserves to lose the White House if it ignores it. Governor Walker and the RNC will repeat Mitt Romney’s fatal mistake if they let this become the national narrative.

The New England Patriots named Pete Carroll their game MVP.

Really? Texas School Suspends 9-Year-Old For Pretending He Had Hobbit ‘Ring of Power’
http://freedomoutpost.com/2015/02/texas-school-suspends-9-year-old-pretending-hobbit-ring-power/
Excerpt: A 9 year old boy from Kermit, Texas was suspended last week for making terrorist threats. What could a 9 year old do that was so terrifying? Did it involve gunsKnives? A plan to blow up the school? Nope. It involved a ring. A magical one, as a matter of fact. Aiden Steward had brought with him to school a ring that he was pretending was "the one ring to rule them all" from JRR Tolkein's classic, The Hobbit. (Terrorism won't stick, but they got him dead to rights on impersonating the President. ~Bob)

Obama’s Trillion Dollar Nuclear Weapons Gamble: Why is the president is proposing a multi-billion dollar nuclear arsenal overhaul that is expensive, dangerous, and does nothing to make the United States safer? By Stephen Young
Excerpt: President Barack Obama will propose spending cuts for many federal programs in the 2016 budget request he’ll send to Congress on Monday, but not for nuclear weapons. Quite the contrary, Obama’s administration is proposing to go on a nuclear weapons spending spree. This is an expensive and profound mistake, and one that ignores the limited contribution that nuclear weapons make to U.S. security.

Army Deletes Tweet About ‘Chinks In Armor’ After People Cry Racism. Apparently, being “offended” is a force so powerful that not even the U.S. Army can stand up to it. By Katherine Timpf
Excerpt: The U.S. Army has deleted a tweet that used the term “chinks” in armor after people freaked out that the same word can be used in a completely different context as a racial slur against people of Chinese descent. “Chinks in special ops’ digital and physical armor poses challenges, experts say,” the tweet read, followed by a link to a news release about how terrorists’ using social media has left a hole — dare I say, a chink in — our country’s defenses. (I suppose farm catalogs better not advertise "hoes" any more. There was a guy in DC who was fired for using the word "niggardly," which black writers use, nothing to do with race. But he was hired after it turned out he was gay, and the gays raised hell. ~Bob)~Bob)

And Marine PAO finds use of chinks in armor racist, too.

Gun News

Excerpt: According to law enforcement, two men who were arguing inside Mien Tay Quan restaurant were asked to leave. One of the men then apparently retrieved a firearm and came back to the restaurant firing his weapon. An investigator for Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan who was having dinner in the restaurant as a customer then pulled his concealed weapon and engaged the shooter, killing him as he came through the doorway. (He probably ordered "Dim Son." ~Bob)

11-year-old girl scares away intruder with shot gun
Excerpt: Deputies say the girl was home alone, when someone knocked on all the doors. When they didn't get a response, deputies say 53-year-old James Wasson broke into the home. Deputies say the girl locked herself in a bathroom closet with a shot gun. When Wasson broke in, the girl pointed the gun at him, ultimately scaring him away. A short time later, Wasson and 31-year-old Rhonda Steward were arrested in Imlay City in connection to the break-in. Wasson and Steward are from Detroit.

Store manager shoots at robbers, reward offered
Excerpt: "There were three suspects that came in," Adams said. "One was armed and two came around the corner. The manager heard some loud noises or someone yelling, then she comes out and they see her. The offender with the gun shoots and she returns fire, then they all ran out."

Police: Suspected burglar shot in apparent home invasion
Excerpt: Police said a 35-year-old man broke into a home around 11 a.m. on the 1200 block of W. Mistletoe Ave. The homeowner heard the break-in and went downstairs to investigate. Police said the homeowner saw the suspected burglar in the kitchen and shot him.

Race Card News

Excerpt: So far, every for-profit enterprise started by Al Sharpton and known to National Review Online has been shut down in at least one jurisdiction for failure to pay taxes, a review of public records in New York and Delaware reveals. Records show that Sharpton's beleaguered for-profit entities often overlap and intertwine, some sharing ties with the reverend's nonprofit organization, National Action Network. Their financial records are copious, confusing, and sometimes outright bizarre, and together, they depict persistent financial woes for Sharpton, who also personally owes New York State nearly $596,000, according to active tax warrants. (Like Rep. Charlie Rangel, black privilege not to pay taxes. ~Bob)

Obamacare/Government Healthcare News

Another change to "settled law"? White House Seeks to Limit Health Law’s Tax Troubles. By Robert Pear
Excerpt: Obama administration officials and other supporters of the Affordable Care Act say they worry that the tax-filing season will generate new anger as uninsured consumers learn that they must pay tax penalties and as many people struggle with complex forms needed to justify tax credits they received in 2014 to pay for health insurance. The White House has already granted some exemptions and is considering more to avoid a political firestorm. Mark J. Mazur, the secretary for tax policy, said up to six million taxpayers would have to “pay a fee this year because they made a choice not to obtain health care coverage that they could have afforded.” (If the President can change laws at will without the consent of Congress, why do we need a Congress? ~Bob)

If You Received a Higher Obamacare Subsidy Than You Were Eligible For, You Don’t Have to Pay It Back This Year. By Andrew Kloster
Excerpt: When faced with unpopular requirements of law, the Obama administration has repeatedly ignored them—despite the fact that President Obama signed Obamacare—and it is doing so yet again: The IRS recently announced that it would waive a tax penalty for some taxpayers. In other words, some people received more money than they were entitled to from the federal government to help buy insurance on federal and state Obamacare exchanges. The law states that if people received too much, they would have to pay it back. However, the IRS will waive the 2014 late payment penalty for those who received an excessive premium tax credit.

"You're Greener than Gore" News

Climate of Hate: His children are urged to kill him, he's compared to Adolf Hitler and labelled a 'denier' – even though he's Jewish. Disturbing article reveals what happens if you dare to doubt the Green prophets of doom. By David Rose
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2934540/What-happens-dare-doubt-Green-prophets-doom.html
Excerpt: I've never supported the British National Party or the Ku Klux Klan. I've never belonged to the Paedophile Information Exchange, or denied the Holocaust, or made a penny from the banking crash. But if you read The Guardian newspaper's website, you might think otherwise. A commentator on it urged my own children to murder me. He did so because of one of the many stories I've written for this newspaper about climate change. I first reported on the subject nearly six years ago: my article was about the 'climategate' scandal, where leaked emails showed university scientists were trying to cover up data that suggested their claim the world is hotter than at any time in the past 1,300 years may be wrong.

Time Magazine: Global Warming Causes Volcanoes. By Philip Hodges
Excerpt: All this time, I thought it was the other way around; that volcanoes contributed to the global climate. But apparently not. Volcanoes are actually caused by global warming itself. So, if you’re a conservative who doesn’t believe in all the global warming hype, then you’re partially to blame for all the destructive volcanoes around the world.

Obama's Offshore Drilling Deal. By Jeffrey Folks
Excerpt: Here’s a deal for you. You give me a million bucks right now. I promise to pay you the million back in fifteen years. But in two years I’ll be leaving town and will have no authority or ability to pay you back. And by the way, I promised to pay you back on a similar deal five years ago and reneged on the deal. But trust me, trust me. That’s the deal the Obama administration is offering the oil and gas industry. (The administration intends to set 20% of America’s land mass, containing a sizable percentage of its known oil and gas reserves, off limits. That is not a good deal for the nation’s oil and gas producers. It’s not a good deal for America, either. --Steve)

Religion of Peace News

Worth Reading: Our Crucial Choice of the War on Terror. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: There are two models for fighting terrorism. We can see the terrorists as an external invading force that has to be destroyed or as an internal element in our society to be managed. In the War on Terror, Bush saw terrorists as an external force that had to be fought while Obama sees them as an internal element to be managed. And while both men signed off on some of the same tactics, their view of the conflict at the big picture level was fundamentally different. (Political Islam is a cancer that must be excised To try to accommodate to this alien, supremacist ideology would be fatal. Europe is on the verge of succumbing. See this and the next article, one from an American observer, one from an Arab. Cordially, Larry Greenberg)

Worth Reading: Is Obama Trying to Kill President Bush? By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: Two of the Gitmo terrorists released by Obama had threatened to assassinate Bush.
Muhammed Ali Husayn had “addressed letters to the US President and Congress threatening punishment from Allah, stating that it is ‘time to be destroyed, suffer and lose.’ Detainee has also threatened that the US President would ‘taste the death,’ telling him to await ‘the humiliation by the swords of Islam.’

Europe's Real "Resistance." By Bassam Tawil
Excerpt: Europe's policies of encouraging groups such as Hamas, which constantly espouse violence, demolishes the Palestinian effort to achieve a responsible Palestinian state that finally could end the conflict with Israel. The West has been duped. The French have naïvely taken the bait: they now associate Palestinian "Resistance" with the courageous French underground Résistance that fought the Germans in World War II. They incorrectly assume that the Palestinian "Resistance' must be a good thing, too. But the Palestinian Resistance bears no resemblance to the French Résistance of Word War II. There is no way to compare them. The Palestinian "Resistance" is nothing more than terrorist organizations repressing their own people. They do not resist an evil force; they are an evil force.

Suspected U.S. drone strike kills al Qaeda militants in Yemen
Excerpt: A suspected U.S. drone strike on a car in Yemen killed three men believed to be al Qaeda militants on Saturday and possibly another drone crashed in a different part of the country, residents said. The incidents suggest there has been no let up in the U.S. stealth programme against suspected militants despite the resignation of the president who backed the programme.

China's Growing Middle East Footprint: Israel's Opportunity. By David P. Goldman
Excerpt: China's "New Silk Road" might become history's most ambitious investment in infrastructure. Some Chinese strategists predict an Israeli role in the project on par with, or possibly even more important than, that of Turkey. China calls the project "One Belt and One Road," referring to a belt of railroads, highways, pipelines and broadband communications stretching through China to the West, and a "maritime Silk Road" combining sea routes with port infrastructure from the Indian Ocean to the Mediterranean. Israel's location makes it possible for the Jewish state to "play the role of bridgehead for 'One Belt and One Road' with the completion of the 'Red-Med' rail project," said Dr. Liu Zongyi at a November seminar at Remnin University.

The Greatest Threat in Syria Comes from Iran. By Efraim Inbar
Excerpt: Both are ideologically committed to the destruction of Israel and are trying to establish a new operations stage against Israel on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights -- something that Assad has resisted for years. Hezbollah‎ seeks an additional arena from where it can harm Israel, as conducting operations against the Jewish state from Lebanon is problematic due to domestic political constraints (primarily fear of escalation and spillover effects on the Lebanese economy). Iran has a perennial interest in bleeding Israel. Creating a new threat from Syria serves this purpose. A new front in Syria will also to enhance its ability to deter an Israeli attack on its nuclear installations.

Worth Reading: The Islamic State, Then and Now. By Lloyd Billingsley
Excerpt: In early 2015, the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or simply “the Islamic State,” as news organizations now have it, has escalated its murders, massacres, persecutions and push for territory. The rise of ISIS has been rapid, but it should come as no surprise to Western leaders familiar with history. Barely 100 years ago, in early 1915, another Islamic state was mounting a similar campaign. That would be the Ottoman empire, specifically Turkey, where Armenians had long been marginalized and ostracized. As Christians the Armenians had virtually no legal rights and no recourse in Islamic courts. CUP propagandist Ziya Gokalp believed the Turks could only revitalize by getting rid of non-Muslim elements.

Egypt Bans Labels Hamas' Military Wing Terrorists. By John Rossomando
Excerpt: An Egyptian court has labeled the Ezzedin al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, a terrorist organization. "The court ruled to ban the Qassam Brigades and to list it as a terrorist group," Judge Mohamed al-Sayid said Saturday in an interview with Reuters. The decision came as a result of a suit brought by Egyptian attorney Samir Sabri that accused the Qassam Brigades of financing and participating in attacks in Egypt against police, military and other targets. Hamas has diverged from its goal of fighting Israel and now aims to undermine Egypt's internal security, according to the Egyptian court.

Turkish Islamists: Je Suis Kouachi! By Burak Bekdil
Excerpt: On January 16, Muslims in Istanbul's devout Fatih district went to the mosque for their usual Friday prayers. Before crowds appeared in front of the mosque, everything looked normal. It was going to be just another day of quiet prayers. But this time, mosque-goers gathered earlier than the usual hour. They were there to hold funeral services (in absentia) for the terrorists who perpetrated the murderous attack on Charlie Hebdo in Paris -- the Kouachi brothers. Then the worshippers at the mosque held a demonstration with a banner and placards:

I'm shocked, shocked: Another Benghazi Cover-Up. From Judicial Watch President, Tom Fitton
Excerpt: Contrary to what the Obama administration had initially claimed in its public comments, top U.S. diplomatic officials knew the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, was under terrorist attack on September 11, 2012. This is big. In testimony before the U.S. House Oversight Committee on October 10, 2012, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Charles Lamb let the cat out of the bag. Apparently, the agents within the Diplomatic Security Commander Center in Washington, D.C., knew that U.S. embassy personnel were under a terrorist attack from the moment it began. Mr. Lamb told the congressional committee the Command Center knew in “real time” that a coordinated terrorist attack was underway against U.S. facilities in Benghazi. Moreover, it was clear to top officials within the Commander Center that the attack had no relationship to a controversial video. But this is not what U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice said during an appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press program on September 16, 2011. The Benghazi attack was “almost a copycat” of spontaneous demonstrations that erupted against U.S. facilities in Cairo, Egypt, in response to the video,” Rice said on the program. But her scenario is in conflict with Lamb’s testimony. (OK, now another shoe drops. So they knew in "real time" exactly what was happening in Benghazi after all? I can't wait until the Gowdy investigation really gets going, if the five saboteurs on the committee ever stop holding it up. --Del. The point of the lie was to protect Obama's reelection. Mission accomplished. ~Bob))

America's Strategy Deficit: A haphazard foreign policy makes a complicated world more dangerous. By Peggy Noonan
Excerpt: The same day the generals testified, Kimberly Dozier of the Daily Beast reported that Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, a retired director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, had told a Washington conference: “You cannot defeat an enemy you do not admit exists.” The audience of military and intelligence professionals applauded. Officials, he continued, are “paralyzed” by the complexity of the problems connected to militant Islam, and so do little, reasoning that “passivity is less likely to provoke our enemies.” These statements come on the heels of the criticisms from President Obama’s own former secretaries of defense.

Egypt court upholds Muslim Brotherhood death sentences
Excerpt: A court in Egypt has upheld death sentences on 183 Muslim Brotherhood supporters over a 2013 attack on a police station near Cairo. The men were convicted over the deaths of at least 11 officers in Kerdasa. The attack took place after Egyptian military forces cracked down on Islamist supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi that July.

And feminists say? Saudi preacher who 'raped and tortured' his five -year-old daughter to death is released after paying 'blood money'
Excerpt: Fayhan al-Ghamdi had been accused of killing his daughter Lama, who suffered multiple injuries including a crushed skull, broken back, broken ribs, a broken left arm and extensive bruising and burns. Social workers say she had also been repeatedly raped and burnt.
Fayhan al-Ghamdi admitted using a cane and cables to inflict the injuries after doubting his five-year-old daughter’s virginity and taking her to a doctor, according to the campaign group Women to Drive. Rather than getting the death penalty or receiving a long prison sentence for the crime, Fayhan al-Ghamdi served only a few months in jail before a judge ruled the prosecution could only seek ‘blood money’. (Shari'a--it's not just a bad idea--it's the law. ~Bob)

Excerpt: The debate over Islamic terrorism has shifted so far from reality that it has now become an argument between the administration, which insists that there is nothing Islamic about ISIS, and critics who contend that a minority of Islamic extremists are the ones causing all the problems. But what makes an Islamic radical, extremist? Where is the line between ordinary Muslim practice and its extremist dark side? It can’t be beheading people in public. Saudi Arabia just did that and was praised for its progressiveness by the UN Secretary General, had flags flown at half-staff in the honor of its deceased tyrant in the UK and that same tyrant was honored by Obama, in preference to such minor events as the Paris Unity March and the Auschwitz commemoration. (Another neat article by Daniel Greenfield. Who is of course one of those awful Islamophobes, but you can see here he's been sincerely trying to figure out who is radical and who is not. A tough proposition. --Del)

Muslim Brotherhood Political Party formed in US to Establish Sharia
http://freedomoutpost.com/2015/02/muslim-brotherhood-political-party-formed-us-establish-sharia/
Excerpt: Just prior to the dissolving of the Muslim Brotherhood as a political party in Egypt and the declaration of the group to be a terrorist organization last year, the Muslim Brotherhood decided start flexing their muscles in the United States. Last year, the US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), an open Muslim Brotherhood front group, began to build a political party straight out of Barack Obama's stomping grounds of Chicago, Illinois. Now, it's in full swing.\ The organization that established the political framework is composed of the designated terror group Hamas-CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) and six other terrorist tied organizations. The groups involved in the USCMO are as follows:

Barack Obama Won't "quibble" over ISIS being "Islamists." By Frank Camp
Excerpt: he President says he doesn’t want to “quibble with labels” by calling ISIS “radical Islamists” “Contradictions do not exist. Whenever you think you are facing a contradiction, check your premises. You will find that one of them is wrong.” – Ayn Rand. The refusal of the Obama administration to label radical Islamic extremism “radical Islamic extremism” has become one of the most fascinatingly dumb episodes to watch unfold. There has always been trepidation on the part of liberals—specifically Obama—to call out Islamic extremism, but over the last several weeks, it has become laughable.

Really? See articles: Obama says terrorists not motivated by true Islam
Excerpt: “I think that for us to be successful in fighting this scourge, it’s very important for us to align ourselves with the 99.9 percent of Muslims who are looking for the same thing we’re looking for — order, peace, prosperity,” Mr. Obama said on CNN. “And so I don’t quibble with labels.”

Flashback: Nine things you’ll learn from Pew’s poll of the world’s Muslims
Excerpt: 1.) A majority of Muslims in several countries think adulterers and apostates should be put to death. According to the poll, 86 percent of Muslims in Pakistan, 84 percent in Afghanistan, 81 percent in the Palestinian territories, 80 percent in Egypt, 65 percent in Jordan, 57 percent in Iraq and 54 percent in Malaysia and Bangladesh favor stoning as a lethal punishment for adultery. ... 6.) A high percentage of Palestinians and Afghanis say suicide-bombing civilians is justified. Forty percent of Muslims in the Palestinian territories and 39 percent of Muslims in Afghanistan said attacking civilian targets to defend Islam is often or sometimes justified. Further, 18 percent of Muslims in Afghanistan and the Palestinian territories said such actions are “often” justified.
