WATCH: Ben Shapiro Hammers Snowflakes at Marquette University
Excerpt: “When you tell people, falsely, that American society is out to get you, it turns out people give up. If you want people not to give up, you have to say this: your life is in your own hands. Stop navel-gazing; stop worrying about all the people out to get you. Turns out in American life, no one cares about you. No one does. You got your parents and you got your friends and you got your family, and that’s it. No one cares enough about you to try to stop you from fulfilling your dreams. And the government is the only body powerful enough to stop you from fulfilling your dreams, as a general measure. So it seems to me we should all spend less time worrying about what victims we are, and more time on how we are going to succeed. And if we do that, and if we fulfill basic standards of decency that are necessary for success in a free society, we’ll have a better, more decent society, not a less good, more divided society.”
