Neat.... low income people with kids make out on this plan, the middle
and upper class people with jobs and no kids will be paying more so those
lower income people can have coverage. This is wealth transfer for sure. –Del. Not sure I’d trust anything on the Clinton News Network. Doesn’t include all the hits on the economy and jobs we all will pay more, low income folks especially. ~Bob

Stop donating to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, says Clarissa Dickson Wright
Excerpt: Her comments follow the refusal of the Archbishop of Canterbury to take up the role of vice-patron and add to the deepening row over whether the charity, which is funded by donations, has become too politicised. People should stop donating until the charity returns to helping domestic animals, she said, adding: “They have got plenty of money.”

Why The "Young Invincibles" Won't Participate In The ObamaCare Exchanges and Why It Matters. By David Hogberg, Ph.D.
Excerpt: his study finds that in 2014 many single people aged 18-34 who do not have children will have a substantial financial incentive to forego insurance on the exchanges and instead pay the individual mandate penalty of $95 or one percent of income. About 3.7 million of those ages 18-34 will be at least $500 better off if they forgo insurance and pay the penalty. More than 3 million will be $1,000 better off if they go the same route. This raises the likelihood that an insufficient number of young and healthy people will participate in the exchanges, thereby leading to a death spiral.

Fracking and the cult of Green Gnosticism. By Archbishop Cranmer
Excerpt: From Ivo: These disparate movements, beliefs and creeds confer a sense of exclusivity, superiority and appeal to those otherwise lacking self-esteem. It calls to the outsider and reinforces his or her sense of frustration with their ordinary fellow citizens who will not acknowledge their special status - their gnosis.

Seattle Mayor To Businesses: Post “Gun-Free Zone” Signs To Deter Criminals
Excerpt: For the life of me, I can’t figure out why any business would post a “gun-free zone” sign at their entrance. Recently, I went into a store here in Georgia, and there was a sign next to the door that proudly proclaimed that they didn’t allow any guns on their premises. I felt a slight tinge of fear as I walked in. I didn’t have a gun with me, and I knew if a robber or murderer wanted to commit a crime, he’d look for the gun-free zone signs.

Manning sentenced to 35 years in WikiLeaks case
I was for a firing squad, but 35 years as Bubba’s Bitch works. If Obama doesn’t pardon him in December of 2016. ~Bob

Excerpt: Women in Mexico have had enough and are doing something about their communities being overrun with cartels, criminals and drug lords. More than 100 women in the southern Mexican town of Xaltianguis have taken up arms to protect their community from organized crime groups, a local self-defense force official saidMonday.

Progressives and Blacks. By Walter E. Williams
Excerpt: Sometimes I wonder when black people will reject the patronizing insults of white progressives and their black handmaidens. After CNN's Piers Morgan's interview with the key witness in the George Zimmerman trial, he said: "Rachel Jeantel is not uneducated. She's a smart cookie." That's a remarkable conclusion. Here's a 19-year-old young lady, still in high school, who cannot read cursive and appears to be barely literate. Morgan may have meant Jeantel is smart -- for a black person. … Dr. Williams serves on the faculty of George Mason University as John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics and is the author of 'Race and Economics: How Much Can Be Blamed on Discrimination?' and 'Up from the Projects: An Autobiography.' (Williamsis black, before you cry racist. ~Bob)

News never made money, and is unlikely to. By Jack Shafer
Excerpt: But those successes don’t subtract from the fact that Washington news is a loss leader for most mainstream newspapers. The same is largely true of international and national news. No mass audience is willing to directly pay for such news outside of the one already served by the New York Times (combined daily print and digitalcirculation, 1,865,318).

Allies Turn Away from US as Obama Backs Radical Islamists in Egypt.
Excerpt: Arab countries are stepping up to provide aid pulled by Obama. Astonishingly, they are the good guys, whereas the US government is backing Islamic terrorist insurgents. Unlike Obama, Arab nations want to arrest the spread of radical Islam so that the entire Middle East doesn’t turn into a giant seething Iran.

Illegal immigrants demand US taxpayers pay for their organ transplants.
Excerpt: Via Judicial Watch: All of the protestors are from Mexico, according to the news report, and all need either a liver or kidney transplant that they can’t afford to pay for.

Getting tough on crime. ~Bob. Excerpt: Long-time farmer, Alvin Schlangen, was convicted by a jury of 6 on five charges related to feeding his community. The conviction came on August 15 after a 3-day trial. Schlangen offered members of the private buying club, Freedom Farms Co-op, the benefit of his volunteer delivery service as he picked up members’ food items, including raw milk, from other farms and delivered it along with products from his Freeport farm.

Excerpt: This would seem to embody the USDA’s advisory, “Know your farmer, know your food,” right? Not exactly. For the USDA and its sister food regulator, the FDA, there’s a problem: many of the farmers are distributing the food via private contracts like herd shares and leasing arrangements, which fall outside the regulatory system of state and local retail licenses and inspections that govern public food sales.

Excerpt: If the police arrest you, do they need a warrant to rifle through your cellphone? Courts have been split on the question. Last week the Obama administration asked the Supreme Court to resolve the issue and rule that the Fourth Amendment allows warrantless cellphone searches. (Just so they don’t tell my wife about Bubbles and Trixie. ~Bob)

Dem Rep James Clyburn Compares 'Extreme Right-Wing Bloggers' to Nazi Propagandists.
Excerpt: Via The Hill: Clyburn singled out “extreme right-wing” bloggers in particular for criticism. He accused such bloggers of forcing Shirley Sherrod to resign from the Department of Agriculture after misrepresenting statements she made to make her appear racially biased. He also said they had libeled the progressive group ACORN, leading to the group’s disbandment. (He found me out. I’m sending him to the camps today. ~Bob.)

Daniel Boone Nixed by Educrats.
Excerpt: "It was really about moving forward,” Theresa Mueller, a spokeswoman for the University of Denver, told FoxNews.com. Moving forward toward what? What kind of future does a society have if it lets itself be ruled by people who find it offensive?

A New "Right-Wing International"? By Baron Bodissey
Excerpt: Geert Wilders and Heinz-Christian Strache have both been ostracized for many years by the legacy media. Each has been demonized as “extreme-right”, “neo-fascist”, and even “neo-Nazi”, despite the fact that both are staunch champions of our traditional freedoms, civil liberties, and human rights. Both men agreed that instead of taking the media reports for granted, they needed to meet in person and become acquainted with one another.

What Australians Ought to be Boycotting.
Excerpt: In Australia, moonbats like former Australian deputy prime minister Tim Fischer are milking the Chris Lane shooting for all they can get, calling for a boycottof travel to the USA to punish us for upholding the right to bear arms. But it wasn’t a gun that killed Chris Lane for no particular reason so much as it was an ideology and a subculture, both exported from corrupted parts of the country into the otherwise decent town of Duncan, Oklahoma. Colin Flaherty had a look at alleged triggerman Chancey Luna’s Facebook page:

Greece needs third bail-out, admits German finance minister
If a human patient had been on life support for this long, the hospital authorities would have pulled the plug long ago. --Don Hank

The Truth About Rap Music. By Eugene Slavin
Excerpt: Gang violence has brought Chicago to its knees, as innocent black childrenare caught in the crossfire of shootouts between rival gangs on a regular basis. Citizens in these communities live in constant fear of reprisal if they talk to law enforcement, a deeply disturbing trend that gangsta rap culture helps to foster in the form of the "Stop Snitching" mantra, heard in songs and seen on t-shirts and in videos. There are countless cases of black kids being maimed or killed for refusing to join a gang, leaving a gang, or "ratting" on a gang member.

Al Jazeera America 'first born child' of the Left's marriage to Islam. Y Judi McCloud
Excerpt: The far left and its compliant mainstream media contingent reached out a hand to bring Al Jazeera all the way from Doha, Qatar headquarters into American front rooms—starting this afternoon. Al Jazeera America begins broadcasting today. The network once called ‘Osama bin Laden’s network’ is being sold to American masses as “14 hours of straight news everyday, hard-hitting documentaries, correspondences in oft-overlooked corners of the country.

Allen West on 'bored' teen murderers: Who will President Obama identify with in this case? By Caroline May
Excerpt: “[S]hall we hear anything from the race industry crew, Hollywood elites, or maybe Oprah Winfrey? The issue is not about proliferation of guns in America. This is about a failing black community and the fact that its young men are desensitized to violence because a gangsta culture promotes it,” West wrote on Facebook, reiterating his Twitter question.

Al Jazeera Targets America. By Cliff Kincaid
Excerpt: Anti-Al Jazeera posters have recently appeared in Egypt saying, “A bullet kills a man, a lying camera kills a nation.” This attitude led to the new government closing the channel, after 22 staffers quit in disgust over its pro-Muslim Brotherhood bias. Al Jazeera is the voice of the Muslim Brotherhood, the group now laying siege to Egypt and burning Christian churches there.

Keeping It. By Mark Steyn
Excerpt: Monarchy is the natural order of things, which is why, as Ben Franklin grasped, the tricky bit about a republic is keeping it. Franklin didn't live to see how that panned out. He died in 1790, a year after the first inauguration, back when John Adams was proposing that George Washington be addressed as "Your Most Benign Highness."

New Jersey Shore Mayor Priced Out By Local Property Taxes..
Excerpt: He and his wife bought land and built their home for $360,000 in 1985. The property was valued at slightly more than $1.1 million during last year's township-wide revaluation, which increased his property taxes nearly 60 percent to $31,056. The 71-year-old mayor tells The Press of Atlantic City he thought he'd be able to live and die in his home.

Juan Williams: Christians attacked in Egypt are surrogates for US.
Excerpt: Dozens of Christian churches in Egypt have been destroyed and torched as a result of the violence. On Sunday, one Christian church canceled Mass for the first time in 1,600 years. "As a Christian, I don't think there's any way that you can ignore the idea that fellow Christians are being persecuted," said Williams.

What we lose if we give up privacy: a civil libertarian reflects on the dangers of the surveillance state. By Peggy Noonan
Excerpt: [Nat Hentoff] is 88 now and on fire on the issue of privacy. "The media has awakened," he told me. "Congress has awakened, to some extent." Both are beginning to realize "that there are particular constitutional liberty rights that [Americans] have that distinguish them from all other people, and one of them is privacy."

Bishop of Andropoli: Christians and Muslims united to save Egypt from Muslim Brotherhood.
Excerpt: "A revolution took place on 30 June in order to avoid the destruction of our country and the army and for the first time the police sided with the people. Everyone, women, men, seniors, children, imams and Christian priests marched together without fighting. I was among the protesters and I witnessed this atmosphere of friendship and unity".

Belgium: 'Syrian fighters' benefits cut.
Excerpt: De Standaard explains that in recent months, Belgian police and intelligence services have found that in several cases, Belgian nationals fighting alongside Syrian rebels continued to receive social welfare payments, including unemployment benefit. “Notwithstanding major upset over the issue in the Muslim community, there will be further departures” for Syria, declared the mayor of Vilvoorde.

Belgian jihadists in Syria stripped of welfare benefits. By Marc Daou
Excerpt: According to Belgian media reports on August 19, the Flemish cities of Antwerp and Vilvoorde have indeed deleted 29 such presumed jihadists from lists of individuals receiving social benefits from the state. The official reason given for the move was that these people no longer lived at their registered address. Investigations carried out by city authorities found that the presumed jihadists had been accessing their Belgian savings by withdrawing money from banks in Turkey, just across the Syrian border.

Egyptian belly dancer's anti-Obama video goes viral
Wow, in this four minute dance and lecture, she really comes down hard on Obama. No mincing words for her, she goes right for the jugular. Clearly she is of the party that wanted Morsi out and is against the Muslim Brotherhood. So she is brave to make this video, because the Brotherhood guys will be gunning for her. Literally. And interesting intro to Egyptian politics. --Del
