Disrespecting the President during an address to Congress
http://dontammyradio.podbean.com/2009/09/11/flashback-democrats-boo-and-catcall-during-president-bush%E2%80%99s-2005-state-of-the-union-address/
Shameful. Apology needed.

Wilson 1, Obama 0: Senate closes loophole for illegals on ObamaCare
http://www.examiner.com/x-2304-DC-Republican-Examiner~y2009m9d11-Wilson-1-Obama-0-Senate-closes-loophole-for-illegals-on-ObamaCare?cid=exrss-DC-Republican-Examiner
Excerpt: In the Senate, Democrats in the so called "Gang of Six," a group of bipartisan senators on the Senate Finance Committee which is the last panel yet to release its bill, began moving quickly to close the loophole that Wilson helped bring greater attention to. So it turns out Obama is spreading false rumors about his own plan. Perhaps reading the bill would have been a nice idea, at least before addressing a joint session of Congress.

We've lost today': 4 U.S. Marines die in Afghan ambush
http://www.miamiherald.com/news/world/AP/story/1223901.html
Excerpt: U.S. commanders, citing new rules to avoid civilian casualties, rejected repeated calls to unleash artillery rounds at attackers dug into the slopes and tree lines - despite being told repeatedly that they weren't near the village. "We are pinned down. We are running low on ammo. We have no air. We've lost today," Marine Maj. Kevin Williams, 37, said through his translator to his Afghan counterpart, responding to the latter's repeated demands for helicopters. Four U.S. Marines were killed Tuesday, the most U.S. service members assigned as trainers to the Afghan National Army to be lost in a single incident since the 2001 U.S.-led invasion. Eight Afghan troops and police and the Marine commander's Afghan interpreter also died in the ambush and the subsequent battle that raged from dawn until 2 p.m. around this remote hamlet in eastern Kunar province, close to the Pakistan border. (The full story. I posted a column about this earlier. What we need in Afghanistan are some Congressmen’s kids in the line of fire, as now-Congressman Duncan Hunter was when his dad held that seat. Makes the stupid ROE personal.)

Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse. I don’t wish them ill, but will be to busy to grieve if they discover the joys of an IED.

Texas Sends Rangers to Mexican Border
http://news.aol.com/article/texas-gov-rick-perry-sends-rangers-to/666047
Excerpt: Special teams of Texas Rangers will be deployed to the Texas-Mexico border to deal with increasing violence because the federal government has failed to address growing problems there, Gov. Rick Perry said Thursday. "It is an expansive effort with the Rangers playing a more high-profile role than they've ever played before," Perry said of the Department of Public Safety's elite investigative unit. (There goes ACORN’s support for Perry, I suppose.)

King: ACORN Video Confirms Need For Congressional Investigation
http://steveking.house.gov/index.cfm?FuseAction=Newsroom.PressReleases&ContentRecord_id=a4d234a1-19b9-b4b1-1219-b41dc106d5e0
Excerpt: “Taxpayers should be outraged that their money has gone to an organization that, in addition to facing charges of voter fraud and tax violations, is willing to facilitate prostitution,” King said. “As this video confirms, ACORN continues to operate as a criminal enterprise. Nancy Pelosi, John Conyers, Barney Frank and other Democrats on Capitol Hill continue to protect and fund ACORN while blocking Congressional hearings on ACORN’s operations and finances. Shielding ACORN from oversight ensures that this partisan criminal enterprise will continue its shady practices while collecting taxpayer funds.”

The Obama Administration, Explained
http://www.americanthinker.com/printpage/?url=http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/09/the_obama_administration_expla.html
Excerpt: Imagine a large city, such as my home town, Detroit used to be, before liberalism destroyed it. Imagine that, in this city, a developer offers to buy a plot of land on which to build a multi-story office building. The upper floors will provide space for visionary entrepreneurs to start new businesses and to expand existing ones, create new products, new services and above all, new jobs. The ground floor will be retail space, providing much-needed products and services to the people who work in the offices above and to the rest of the city, too. And of course, for the people who work in them, the new stores will provide jobs. Now imagine that someone else has a different idea. This person views people who buy land, put buildings on them, facilitate the creation of new products, services and jobs, but who have the gall to enrich themselves in the process, as evil, bloodsucking capitalists. This person believes that "the community" would be better served by turning the plot into a children's playground. Or he may believe, grudgingly, that an office building might be okay -- but only if the construction workers come from "the community." (The many jobs that would be created for the people who would work in the building is, of course, irrelevant.)

Detroit: The Triumph of Progressive Public Policy
http://www.mackinac.org/article.aspx?ID=10743
Excerpt: Would this be a shining city on a hill, exciting the admiration of all? We don't have to guess, because there is such a city right here in our state: Detroit Detroit has been dubbed "the most liberal city in America" and each of these "progressive" policies is alive and well there. How have they worked out? In 1950, Detroit was the wealthiest city in America on a per capita income basis. Today, the Census Bureau reports that it is the nation's 2nd poorest major city, just "edging out" Cleveland.

Lots bigger than the (Not A) Million Man March of a few years ago. More Anti-American Astroturf, right, Nancy? MSM not covering much, but I bet every Congress Critter reads the story. They like to know how the wind is blowing.

Key Blagojevich adviser Christopher Kelly dead

Excerpt: The man federal prosecutors pressured to cooperate in the corruption probe of ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich died of an apparent aspirin overdose on Saturday, law enforcement sources said. Christopher Kelly, 51, of Burr Ridge, was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital at 10:46 a.m. An autopsy is scheduled for today, a Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office spokeswoman said.

Key witness in passport fraud case fatally shot
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/apr/19/key-witness-in-passport-fraud-case-fatally-shot/
Excerpt: The Washington Times reported April 5 that contractors for the State Department had improperly accessed passport information for presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain, which resulted in a series of firings that reached into the agency's top ranks. One agency employee, who was not identified in documents filed in U.S. District Court, was implicated in a credit-card fraud scheme after Lt. Harris told federal authorities he obtained "passport information from a co-conspirator who works for the U.S. Department of State." (Dropping like flies. Now the paranoid will say that Obama’s passport info was really sanitized to hide the fact he traveled as a citizen of another country, McCain & Clinton were just red herrings, and this guy was killed to keep the cover-up in place. Crazy, I’m sure. But we’ll never know now.)

Obama’s Healthcare Speech
http://michaelconnelly.viviti.com/
Excerpt: The access of illegal aliens to the system has been verified by a recent report released by the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service. This service works for Congress and the report was released days before President Obama made his speech, yet he continued to deny that illegals will get coverage. There is also a movement among some members of Congress to grant illegal immigrants full rights to participate in all government programs including Social Security, even if they have never paid a penny into the system. Is it Constitutional to require American taxpayers to pay for medical coverage of those who have broken our country’s laws by sneaking across our borders? Nobody in the Obama Administration seems to care.

Charlie in rental di$order
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/manhattan/charlie_in_rental_di_order_4HTvnov7XN5hdW7gaZIdBI
Excerpt: Rep. Charles Rangel reported no rental income for eight years on his rundown Harlem row house, even though public records show tenants were living there.
The powerful chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee said he received nothing from 1993 to 2000 on the six-unit building, according to federal financial disclosure forms. But one current tenant told The Post she had lived at the building for 20 years -- and paid rent during that period. Another said her former boyfriend called 74 W. 132nd St. home for many years, paying about $500 a month in rent. While Rangel claims to have taken in not a dime in eight years, at least four tenants lived in the building during that time, The Post found. His nephew, Christopher Rangel, still lives there. The Democratic lawmaker, who is being probed by the House Ethics Committee for a laundry list of alleged financial misdeeds, has had a hard time keeping his story straight on the apartment building. Rangel's grandfather bought the red-brick house in 1923. Rangel's sister transferred the property to the congressman's wife, Alma, in 1973 for $10,000, city records show. Rangel sold it in 2004 for $410,000 -- a hefty profit -- to the First AME Church Bethel (But he’ll walk. You know, CWB is a pass.)

40th anniversary: Woodstock and I
http://www.thecitizen.com/~citizen0/node/38918
Excerpt: I don’t mind that so many of my peers opposed war and promoted peace; that’s an instinctive choice any child can make. But I do mind that so many evaded their responsibilities to the nation which gave them the freedom to dance with flowers in their hair. Many of us were dubious about the war, too, but when our country called we raised our right hand, swore an oath and stuck to it. It didn’t seem right that while we were fighting to stop the spread of communism, anti-war protesters maligned us and encouraged our enemy. Maybe college students actually were motivated by the moral opposition they professed, never mind the self-preservation that surely swirled in their head. But that’s not what bothers me most. Of the 3 million Americans who served in the Vietnam war zone, two-thirds were volunteers while one-third had to be drafted.

UK Muslims attack 9/11 remembrance rally
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/027529.php
Excerpt: This is what it has come to: "The police can't handle the Muslim counter-demonstrators. The senior sergeant said that he doesn't want any of his policemen killed." Note that the SIOE demonstration didn't even take place. The people who were responsible for the violence were the Muslim counter-demonstrators. There is an awful lot of passive voice in this egregious BBC story, but what happened is still more or less clear. The mainstream media only generally breaks out the passive voice in large quantities when it doesn't want to identify the perpetrators -- after all, one wouldn't want to appear "Islamophobic," eh wot?

Jewish joke of the day
A Jewish man was sitting at a Starbucks reading an Arab newspaper. A friend of his, who happened to be in the same store noticed this strange Phenomenon. Very upset, he approached him and said: 'Moishe, have you lost your mind? Why are you reading an Arab newspaper?' Moishe replied, 'I used to read the Jewish newspapers, but what did I find? Jews being persecuted, Israel being attacked, Jews disappearing through assimilation and intermarriage, Jews living in poverty. So I switched to the Arab newspaper. Now what do I find? Jews own all the banks, Jews control the media, Jews are all rich and powerful, Jews rule the world. The news is so much better!'
