Your one-stop-shop for political news and opinion--who needs newspapers or TV? Please forward to friends who need to be informed. This SitRep (Military for “Situation Report”) is created by many readers who send me items for inclusion, which I would have likely missed or skipped. And I can only spend at most three hours a night pulling stuff, plus the healthcare or economic stuff that crosses my desk at work. As always, I—and you—owe them thanks and appreciation. I post articles because I think they are of interest and will stimulate thought and discussion. Doing so doesn’t mean that I necessarily agree (or disagree) with every—or any—opinion in the posted article, or that I was able to verify the information presented, which is the responsibility of the author. I try not to post things that are false, or too far a stretch, regardless of the view point, but I don’t always succeed. As always on the Net, or in the legacy media, you must read critically and with skepticism.

Must Read: Two World Wars and Nuclear Iran: The past should be a warning for the future. By Thomas Sowell
Excerpt: A hundred years ago, in 1913, anyone who might have predicted the monumental, man-made catastrophes that would occur in the rest of the 20th century would have been considered warped, if not completely mentally deranged. Who would have believed that the continent of Europe, which had not had a major war since Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo, would set off two World Wars that would be incomparably worse than any wars before, anywhere in the world?

Excerpt: I’ve been a close observer of health care politics for a quarter of a century and in all that time I have seen very little productive interchange between the left and the right on this subject. And this is not just true of Washington. It’s true generally across the country. Why is that? At the most fundamental level, the left and the right approach the subject from completely opposite directions. The left invariably focuses on benefits. The right invariably focuses on costs. (If you can’t pay for it, you can’t do it. ~Bob.)

ABC Says White House Authorized IRS-Gate Political Enemy Scandal
Excerpt: Trey Hardin: “I will tell you this on the IRS front. I’ve worked in this town for over 20 years in the White House and on Capitol Hill and I can say with a very strong sense of certainty that there are people very close to this president that not only knew what the IRS were doing but authorized it. It simply just does not happen at an agency level like that without political advisers likely in the West Wing certainly connected to the president’s ongoing campaign organization.”

Excerpt: Internal Revenue Service officials used "inappropriate criteria" to single out Tea Party groups and requested "unnecessary information," according to a federal watchdog A leaked version of the highly-anticipated report from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) shines a light on the scandal that has dominated Capitol Hill and ensnared top IRS officials.

Excerpt: The Internal Revenue Service developed “inappropriate criteria” focused on conservative groups that stalled work on most of the organizations' applications for nearly 13 months, according to a copy of a Treasury Inspector General’s report obtained by The Washington Post. The report, which is due to be released this week, said the targeting campaign would “stay in place for more than 18 months." Of the 298 total applications the IG report reviewed as of Dec. 17, “108 had been approved, 28 were withdrawn by the application, none had been denied, and 160 were open from 206 to 1,138 calendar days." (Cui bono as investigators always ask. ~Bob.)

Excerpt: Root, the Libertarian Party vice-presidential candidate in 2008 who has claimed Obama was strangely unknown to him and his fellow Columbia University classmates, recounted his story to WND last October of becoming the target of unusual audits, beginning in January 2011, despite a “spotless” 30-year tax record.
He charged in October that the order to audit him came from Obama himself, and he is even more convinced now.

IRS official Lerner speedily approved exemption for Obama brother’s ‘charity’
http://dailycaller.com/2013/05/14/irs-official-lerner-approved-exemption-for-obama-brothers-charity/#ixzz2TNBbgcbj
Excerpt: Lois Lerner, the senior IRS official at the center of the decision to target tea party groups for burdensome tax scrutiny, signed paperwork granting tax-exempt status to the Barack H. Obama Foundation, a shady charity headed by the president’s half-brother that operated illegally for years. According to the organization’s filings, Lerner approved the foundation’s tax status within a month of filing, an unprecedented timeline that stands in stark contrast to conservative organizations that have been waiting for more than three years, in some cases, for approval.

Frank VanderSloot: ‘I’m not the only’ major Mitt Romney donor audited
Excerpt: Billionaire businessman Frank VanderSloot, a major Mitt Romney super PAC donor who was subjected to three federal agency audits after being slimed by the Obama campaign, says he isn’t the only one of his peers who was audited after donating to Romney.

Tax Audits Are No Laughing Matter: A president shouldn't even joke about abusing IRS power. By Glenn Harlan Reynolds
Excerpt: At his Arizona State University commencement speech last Wednesday, Mr. Obama noted that ASU had refused to grant him an honorary degree, citing his lack of experience, and the controversy this had caused. He then demonstrated ASU's point by remarking, "I really thought this was much ado about nothing, but I do think we all learned an important lesson. I learned never again to pick another team over the Sun Devils in my NCAA brackets. . . . President [Michael] Crowe and the Board of Regents will soon learn all about being audited by the IRS."

A Bad Joke Becomes Reality
Excerpt: "President Obama famously joked in a college commencement address in 2009 that he could use the IRS to target political enemies but of course he never would. It appears that people at the Internal Revenue Service didn't think he was joking. (And Obama put IRS in charge of healthcare. Recall Obama saying, "We're gonna punish our enemies, and we're gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us..." That's exactly what he has been about. --MM)

IRS targeting scandal a political ‘gift from heaven’ for Tea Party groups http://thehill.com/images/stories/news/2013/05_may/14/irs-letter-to-teaparty.pdf

Forgetting Watergate’s lesson. By George Will
Excerpt: Jay Carney, whose unenviable job is not to explain but to explain away what his employers say, calls the IRS’ behavior “inappropriate.” No, using the salad fork for the entree is inappropriate. Using the IRS for political purposes is a criminal offense.

Will no one rid me of this turbulent group? By Erick Erickson
Excerpt: Four years later, Henry II performed public penance in front of Becket’s tomb. None of Becket’s assassins were ever punished by the king.
Like Henry II, Barack Obama never specifically asked that tea party groups and conservative be targeted. But by both his language and the “always campaigning” attitude of his White House, he certainly sent clear signals to Democrats with the power and ability to fight conservatives to engage as they could. Given his rhetoric against his political opponents, it is no wonder sympathetic Democrats in the Internal Revenue Service harassed and stymied conservative groups and, though little mentioned, pro-Israel Jewish groups and evangelical groups.

Reporter Claims IRS Harassment After Tough Obama Interview *UPDATE: Conners Muzzled. By Dana Loesch
Excerpt: St. Louis Reporter Larry Conners revealed via Facebook yesterday that he has been “hammered” by the IRS since his much-discussed interview with President Obama. Conners, a veteran reporter, asked tough, but fair question during the interview which was slammed by progressives in media.

Billy Graham Evangelistic Assn. Targeted by IRS. By Todd Starnes
Excerpt: The man known as America’s pastor was among those targeted by the Internal Revenue Service after the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association ran newspaper advertisements promoting traditional marriage and biblical values. “I am bringing this to your attention because I believe that someone in the Administration was targeting and attempting to intimidate us,” wrote Franklin Graham in a letter to President Obama. “This is morally wrong and unethical – indeed some would call it ‘un-American.’” (With the IRS Scandal, the AP phone records scandal, the Fast and Furious gun running scandal, the Benghazi scandal, the Pigford scandal, the war on Libya without Congressional authorization, now increasingly shown to have been a disaster, and others. I think you could now build a fair case for Obama’s impeachment. But it’s not worth doing until you have 20 Democrat senate votes for it. That will not happen. If you don’t have the votes, it is likely to help him, as it did Clinton at the time [which I predicted]. And Democrats are not going to face the wrath of black constituents and riots in the cities if he was removed. ~Bob.)

Excerpt: Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., repeatedly pressed the Internal Revenue Service to investigate the tax-exempt status of specific conservative nonprofit organizations in letters to then-IRS commissioner Doug Shulman and director Lois Lerner in 2012. Levin said he was concerned nonprofit organizations were abusing their tax-exempt status and engaging in partisan politics and requested information from the IRS on 12 organizations.

IRS gave liberals a pass; Tea Party groups put on hold. USA Today
Excerpt: In the 27 months that the Internal Revenue Service put a hold on all Tea Party applications for non-profit status, it approved applications from similar liberal groups, a USA TODAY review of IRS data shows. As applications from conservative groups sat in limbo, groups with obviously liberal names were approved in as little as nine months. With names including words like "Progress" or "Progressive," these groups applied for the same tax status and were engaged in the same kinds of activities as the conservative groups.

The Big Chill: IRS struck fear into PA Tea Party groups
Excerpt: Well, it turns out Tea Party fears of unchecked government authority were well-founded in light of the IRS's revelation that agency employees abused their power by targeting the grassroots groups for extra scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status. As a result, conservative groups seeking to become nonprofit organizations -- including at least three in the Keystone State -- felt intimidated by the IRS and experienced lengthy delays during the application process. These delays -- from one to three years -- prevented donors from contributing to the groups.

Excerpt: Franklin Graham, the Tea Party, and Larry Conners all faced the wrath of the Obama IRS. You can add me to that list….When it happened, a former IRS lawyer with whom I associated in private practice told me – “it’s no accident you were audited.”

Excerpt: That’s from Mike Ciandella at CNS News, but we also have a little something from the Wall Street Journal: To monitor compliance with these [new ObamaCare tax] rules, the IRS and HHS are now building the largest personal information database the government has ever attempted. Known as the Federal Data Services Hub, the project is taking the IRS’s own records (for income and employment status) and centralizing them with information from Social Security (identity), Homeland Security (citizenship), Justice (criminal history), HHS (enrollment in entitlement programs and certain medical claims data) and state governments (residency). The data hub will be used as the verification system for ObamaCare’s complex subsidy formula.

Excerpt: The Daily Caller has obtained emails showing that the Eric Holder Department of Justice has regularly colluded with Media Matters to attack PJ writer J. Christian Adams. Dozens of pages of emails between DOJ Office of Public Affairs Director Tracy Schmaler and Media Matters staffers show Schmaler, Holder’s top press defender, working with Media Matters to attack reporters covering DOJ scandals. TheDC obtained the emails through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

WaPo Fact Checker: An alternative explanation for the Benghazi talking points: Bureaucratic knife fight
Excerpt: For reasons unknown, the White House sent U.N. Ambassador Susan E. Rice on five Sunday shows with those talking points — and the rest is history. The talking points were so weak that Rice immediately raised suspicions that the administration was hiding something important. (She instantly earned Pinocchios.) She also repeatedly referenced the supposed impact of an anti-Islam video, which was never a part of the talking points. (But why was state upset with the original talking points. An election, or protecting Hillary, maybe? ~Bob.)

Douglas Brinkley: Obama may have to accept Holder’s resignation to get presidency on track
http://dailycaller.com/2013/05/14/brinkley-obama-may-have-to-accept-holders-resignation-video/#ixzz2TNDtwpCa
Excerpt: President Barack Obama may need to accept the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder as part of a plan to “get control” of the three scandals hounding the administration, historian Douglas Brinkley advised Tuesday. Action is more important than rhetoric in times like these, Brinkley told “Hardball” host Chris Matthews on MSNBC. (If push comes to shove, Obama would throw Michelle under the bus. He’s loyal only to Obama. But the next AG would be another corrupt Democrat machine politician. ~Bob.)

Should Everyone Go To College? By: Stephanie Owen and Isabel V. Sawhill
Excerpt: We all know that, on average, college graduates make significantly more money over their lifetimes than those with only a high school education. What gets less attention is the fact that not all college degrees or college graduates are equal. There is enormous variation in the so-called return to education depending on factors such as institution attended, field of study, whether a student graduates, and post-graduation occupation. While the average return to obtaining a college degree is clearly positive, we emphasize that it is not universally so. For certain schools, majors, occupations, and individuals, college may not be a smart investment.

Worth Reading: Five Myths about the Federal Housing Administration. By Edward J. Pinto
Excerpt: Fannie and Freddie played a visible role in pumping the housing bubble and the foreclosures that ensued. Congress’ affordable housing mandate required the government-sponsored enterprises to increase loans to families — earning less than the area’s median income — from 30 to 56 percent. But if the GSEs were the faces of subprime failure, the FHA was the brain, orchestrating programs to expand debt thus setting off a race to the bottom. The FHA took the lead in crafting the National Homeownership Strategy, which urged doing away with down payments. The FHA’s leadership role is evident in statements made in a 2000 Quicken Loans release touting a partnership with the agency: … Edward J. Pinto, a former executive vice president and chief credit officer for Fannie Mae, is a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.

Robert Gibbs: Obama response to scandals sounds like me scolding my 9-year-old
Excerpt: Former Obama White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs — now an MSNBC contributor — explained to Andrea Mitchell Tuesday afternoon that President Obama made White House Press Secretary Jay Carney’s job more difficult.

Matthews and Jonathan Alter Freak Out: 'Vulnerable' Obama Hurt By Staffers With 'Unhealthy Love' for Him. By Scott Whitlock
Excerpt: In an unintentionally hilarious moment, former Newsweek journalist Jonathan Alter dismissed the support team the President has in the White House: "A lot of them are young. Some of them are very smart and talented. But they're all in awe of the president. They have an unhealthy love for him." [See video below. MP3 audio here.] Obama staffers have an unhealthy love for the President? Keep in mind, Alter was talking to Chris "thrill going up my leg" Matthews.

Obama Scandal Scorecard
Excerpt: Well, this all escalated quickly. In case you’re having trouble keeping up here’s a quick rundown of the scandals engulfing the beleaguered Obama administration. I’ve put them in order of what I think is their seriousness.

Funny Obama Scandal Excuses

Poll: Small Businesses Still Sour on Health Care Law
Excerpt: Gallup finds that 48% of small business owners think the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) “is going to be bad for their business,” while 39% don’t think it’ll have an impact. Fifty-five percent of those polled think the health care law will increase their health care costs, while only 5% think they'll pay less.

Obamacare Cuts Cost 129 Jobs in Liberty, Missouri

Insurers predict 100% to 400% Obamacare rate explosion
Excerpt: Internal cost estimates from 17 of the nation's largest insurance companies indicate that health insurance premiums will grow an average of 100 percent under Obamacare, and that some will soar more than 400 percent, crushing the administration's goal of affordability.

Important: Cameron faces leadership questions over Europe
Excerpt: Prime Minister David Cameron faced questions about his leadership on Tuesday after he bowed to pressure from inside the ruling Conservative Party to bring forward draft legislation enforcing a referendum on Britain's European Union membership. Just hours after U.S. President Barack Obama cautioned against rushing towards the EU exit, Cameron was forced by a rebellion in his party into promising a bill that would pave the way for an in-out vote on Europe. (When the Common Market was formed, I said instead we should have offered to create an English Speaking Free Trade Zone, with the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. ~Bob.)

IRS, DOJ, and Benghazi Expose Limits of Obama’s Big-Government Vision
Excerpt: For Ronald Reagan, it was limited government and more freedom. For Barack Obama, it is the unshakeable conviction that government can and must be a strong and benevolent force in our lives.(...) Just as Hurricane Katrina shattered what remained of the Bush administration’s image of competence, which had once been a strength of the first M.B.A. president, the Benghazi, IRS, and AP stories are like a multihead missile aimed at Obama’s fundamental belief: that government is good and will make your life better. (A great column, but.... Although published by Daily Beast, the author of this column was one of Mitt Romney’s advisors. I seriously doubt Daily Beast is changing its liberal outlook, or is serious about criticizing the President or his administration, especially since they have long been not-so-secret Hillary supporters. Ron P.)

State Wants Trayvon’s Violent, Weed Smoking Past Out of Trial
http://clashdaily.com/2013/05/state-wants-trayvons-violent-weed-smoking-past-out-of-trial/#ixzz2TNGXgU8L
Excerpt: State prosecutors in the case against George Zimmerman are pushing to keep Zimmerman’s attorneys from bringing testimony about Trayvon Martin’s past during the trial. The state said in motions filed on Friday they want to prevent Zimmerman’s attorneys from bringing up Martin’s personal life, including his school records, previous suspension from school, fights, text messages sent prior to his death unless related to case and his social media use. (You can see from the picture why Obama thinks Trayvon could have been his son. ~Bob.)

Worth Reading: Hating America. By Walter E. Williams
Excerpt: Brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who are accused of setting the bombs that exploded at the Boston Marathon, attended the University of Massachusetts. Maybe they hated our nation before college, but if you want lessons on hating America, college attendance might be a good start. Let's look at it. "We need to think very, very clearly about who the enemy is. The enemy is the United States of America and everyone who supports it." That's taught to University of Hawaii students by Professor Haunani-Kay Trask.

Excerpt: Police have identified one of three potential shooters who gunned down 19 Mother's Day Parade victims in the notorious 7th Ward of New Orleans. The bodies had barely hit the ground before the liberal contingent emerged and decried the violence, in a city of violence, as simply another result of 7th Ward Black poverty. How many of you are tiring of the same old saw, the same old "poverty plea" that accompanies the murders on Chicago's South Side, the "mob robs" in Baltimore and the utterly corrupt Black leadership of Detroit, Michigan? Let's begin calling this cancer in our nation what it really is; "subsidized sloth".

The Week That Was: 2013-05-11 (May 11, 2013)
Excerpt: Another contrast is that most Texas oil is on private lands, which owners are willing to lease at a price. In California much of the oil-rich areas are state or federally owned, and leasing doesn't happen because of political constraints. In California it can take weeks or even months to get approval for an oil rig. The average in Texas? Four days. (The excerpt is taken from Article #4, A Tale of Two Oil States, that demonstrates how political policies impact the daily lives of citizens. Another article worth looking at is In Defense of Carbon Dioxide by Harrison Schmitt and William Happer [both authors are PhDs, Schmitt is a former Apollo Astronaut and was US Senator from New Mexico]. Ron P.)

10 signs of intellectual honesty
Excerpt: When it comes to just about any topic, it seems as if the public discourse on the internet is dominated by rhetoric and propaganda. People are either selling products or ideology. In fact, just because someone may come across as calm and knowledgeable does not mean you should let your guard down and trust what they say. (Like Richard Feynman’s speech on Cargo Cult science, these guidelines appear to apply across the board to most human activities. Although headlined as “signs of honesty,” Dr. Curry also includes 10 signs of intellectual dishonesty. I suspect most readers will recognize them from daily use in another field—politics. --Ron P.)

Michigan Federal Judge Allows Muslim Violence to Suppress Christian Speech; Immediate Appeal Filed
Excerpt: A Michigan federal judge today dismissed a civil rights lawsuit brought by several Christian evangelists who were violently assaulted by a hostile Muslim mob while preaching at an Arab festival last year in Dearborn, Michigan, which has the largest Muslim population in the United States. Video of the Muslim assault went viral on YouTube. (see, it’s their culture and any disruption to enforce the law is Islamophobic. ~Bob.)

Didn’t get the “Islam is a Religion of Peace” memo. ~Bob. Excerpt: A North Carolina man who the FBI says spoke of killing U.S. Army soldiers as part of a personal jihad has pleaded guilty to possessing a stolen firearm. Erwin Antonio Rios admitted guilt Tuesday in U.S. District Court as part of a plea agreement with federal prosecutors.

Baghdad alcohol shops caught in deadly attacks
Didn’t get the memo. ~Bob. Excerpt: Gunmen using silenced weapons have attacked a row of alcohol shops in Baghdad, leaving 10 people dead, officials say.

The News in Zingers. By Argus Hamilton
Excerpt: The IRS apologized for targeting conservative groups for agency scrutiny during last year's election. The tax collectors targeted GOP groups and donors for audits. It left every comedian wondering if a great joke on this subject is worth all the extra paperwork.

Big Green's anti-fracking operatic chorus hits false notes. By Ron Arnold
Excerpt: In the orchestra pit, Fenton Communications follows the baton of propaganda composer and maestro David Fenton in this nonsense rerun of his 1989 "No Alar on Apples." That was Fenton's public relations hit for the Natural Resources Defense Council that bankrupted hundreds of mom-and-pop apple orchards in a pesticide scam falsely claiming that the root-applied fruit-ripener Alar was a pesticide threatening millions of kids who ate apples. Fenton's current anti-fracking opera sings the same old bogus songs, with different words.

Excerpt: A Senate panel is expected to vote next week on arming vetted Syrian rebel groups, The Hill has learned. The vote by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee would mark the first time lawmakers have voted to approve arming Syrian rebels, and could increase pressure on the Obama administration to take action in the 26-month-old civil war. (Any arms we give to any Muslim group will eventually be used to kill infidels—like you and me. And, of course, other Muslims who think slightly differently, or minorities like the Christians in Syria. I would vote no. ~Bob.)

What we know Obama doesn't know grows daily. By Andrew Malcolm
Excerpt: A key tenet of Barack Obama's grand design to radically transform the country he did not grow up in is to corrode Americans' confidence in their revered institutions.

Medicare Fraud strike force charges 89 individuals for approximately $223 million in false billing
Excerpt: Attorney General Eric Holder and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced today that a nationwide takedown by Medicare Fraud Strike Force operations in eight cities has resulted in charges against 89 individuals, including doctors, nurses and other licensed medical professionals, for their alleged participation in Medicare fraud schemes involving approximately $223 million in false billings. … The defendants charged are accused of various health care fraud-related crimes, including conspiracy to commit health care fraud, violations of the anti-kickback statutes and money laundering. The charges are based on a variety of alleged fraud schemes involving various medical treatments and services, primarily home health care, but also mental health services, psychotherapy, physical and occupational therapy, durable medical equipment (DME) and ambulance services.

Backfire: ABC, CNN, NBC Call for White House to Release Benghazi Emails. By John Nolte
Excerpt: NBC's senior White House correspondent joined the chorus Wednesday. On his MSNBC show, "The Daily Rundown," Chuck Todd looked into the camera and said, "Attention White House: Release all the emails." The headline has been updated to add NBC. Assuming they are the ones who leaked to CNN an email written by Ben Rhoades (a Deputy National Security Advisor close to the President), the White House might have been too clever by half Tuesday. An act that was obviously meant to pour water on the Benghazi fire started by an ABC News report, has only ended up being gasoline. Now both CNN and ABC have joined conservative media in calling for the White House to release all the emails surrounding the editing of the CIA talking points.

White House Refuses Straight Answer To Request For Benghazi Emails
Excerpt: In a tense exchange Wednesday afternoon between Major Garrett of CBS News and White House spokesman Jay Carney, the White House refused to offer a straight answer to Garrett's repeated requests that the Administration release the full email chain surrounding the shaping of the CIA's Libya talking points. Garrett asked Carney three times for an answer to a simple yes or no question.

Glass House Rules: if you claim you did nothing wrong on Benghazi, but won’t release emails revealing what happened, you’re probably lying.

http://thehill.com/video/campaign/299835-axelrod-republicans-throwing-a-high-hard-one-at-hillary-clinton-over-benghazi#ixzz2TNy7jaH5
Excerpt: Republicans are trying to bully Hillary Clinton out of running for president by attacking her on Benghazi, Libya, David Axelrod said Wednesday. “I really view the Benghazi flare-up right now as throwing a high hard one at Hillary Clinton to try and dissuade her from running for president,” President Obama's former chief political strategist said on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe." ….Clinton is one of the most popular political figures in the country and is widely viewed as the Democratic frontrunner for the party’s presidential nomination if she decides to run.

Eric Holder: The Culture of Corruption Enforcer. By Arnold Ahlert
Excerpt: Just as the Obama administration’s IRS-targeting scandal has started to metastasize, a new controversy has erupted over the government’s monitoring of one of the nation’s largest press bureaus.

Scandals could roil 2014 elections
Excerpt: As a trio of scandals threatens to engulf President Barack Obama, congressional Democrats facing election next year are talking tough about the administration and taking the first steps to detach themselves from the president. (Yes, once the public learns the details from the media they will be…oh, never mind. ~Bob.)

German home burgled every four minutes
Excerpt: Burglaries rose sharply last year, according to new figures seen by the Welt am Sonntag newspaper. Daytime break-ins in particular have increased, with robberies becoming more violent. (See how well strict gun control prevents crime? ~Bob.)

Getting into the military is getting tougher
Excerpt: In a typical week, about 10 applicants will walk into a recruiting center in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, hoping to enlist in the United States Army. Sergeant First Class Israel Herrera doesn't like to turn them away, but he often finds that six out of 10 simply don't measure up to military standards.

Sharia in action in Kuwait: 215 gays, lesbians arrested in raids on Internet cafes
Excerpt: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department during an extensive campaign at Internet cafes and suspicious places in the six governorates have arrested 215 young homosexuals and lesbians of various nationalities, reports Al-Anba daily. (There will be no protest from American Progressives. Muslims trump Gays in the PC food pyramid, right now. Gays still trump Blacks. Blacks and Hispanics fighting it out for third. Women have fallen to fifth. ~Bob.)

Excerpt: More great news! The now infamous cannibal Jihadist in Syria is funded with your tax dollars! TIME magazine has identified the cannibal Jihadist in Syria as Khalid al-Hamad. He also goes by the pseudo name Abu Sakkar. … Khalid al-Hamad is a Brigade Commander in the Free Syrian Army. The Free Syrian Army has bee given over $300 million worth of aid by the Obama administration. Hillary Clinton has also provided diplomatic support for the organization and defended them before the United Nations.

Holder's pretty mad at Issa. I mean, the guy's been a thorn in his side since the DOJ sent thousands of guns to drug cartels.

Millions of Christians Forced Out of Muslim Countries
Excerpt: USBC News Wire- According to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, “the flight of Christians out of the region is unprecedented and it’s increasing year by year,” and warned that it was possible that within a generation, “Christians might disappear altogether from Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt.”

Black Republican. ~Bob. Excerpt: From the News-Gazette (Illinois), about the conservative Republican: "Less than a year after Republican county chairmen in the 13th District turned down her candidacy for Congress, Urbana native Erika Harold is moving back to Champaign-Urbana and has indicated an interest in running for public office.

7 Caught Trespassing At Quabbin Reservoir; Patrols Stepped Up Across State
Excerpt:  Shortly after midnight Tuesday, seven people were caught trespassing at the Quabbin Reservoir. State Police say the five men and two women are from PakistanSaudi Arabia, and Singapore, and “cited their education and career interests” for being in the area. The men told police they were chemical engineers and recent college graduates.  The Quabbin, in Belchertown, is one of the country’s largest man-made public water supplies. Boston’s drinking water comes from the Quabbin and the Wachusett Reservoirs. (Let me guess—night school!  Sort of late for night classes…Didn’t POTUS just tell those swanky donators in NYC that he wanted to keep up that post-terrorism mentality in the US? –Barb)

Why Obama Released Embarrassing IRS Bombshell: Michele Bachmann explains White House's willingness to take heat
Excerpt: Bachmann, a former tax attorney, told WND in an interview the IRS admission means the credibility of the 2012 election is in doubt….But why would an administration ever confess to such a flagrant misuse of politics and power? Bachmann, who chairs the House Tea Party caucus, said it’s the Benghazi scandal.

Analysis: Air strikes in Syria - A calculated risk. By Yaakov Lappin
Excerpt: The recent air strikes in Syria, attributed by foreign reports to the Israeli Air Force, should be seen as part of a larger, covert struggle between Israel and Iranian-backed terror organizations, with each side preparing itself for the next round of open hostilities which may be more destructive than anything seen so far. The decision to launch the air strikes was based on the understanding that a calculated risk now is preferable to facing a deteriorating security situation later.
