Sacramento approve $1.5 million to pay criminals not to shoot
Wow, this is really interesting. My first reaction was "Are you kidding? This is like paying tribute to blackmailers." But that somehow they've gotten positive results in other cities is a total shock. (Unless some do-gooders or the people managing the programs are cooking the books a little.) I don't like the idea in general, but all that matters are results. If this kind of thing actually gets some gangbangers to go back to school, get some kind of counseling, get some skills, and move away from violence into functional citizenship, then OK. -Del. I'm willing to not shoot anyone for a mere $50k. Unless of course they threaten me or my family.. ~Bob
