Update
Friday morning I was putting my daily morning health numbers
in the spread sheet I keep when, wham, I got the Blue Screen of Death on my
computer. First time on this one, no idea why, though my virus protection had
just upgraded itself. It came back up, and I'm backing up recent stuff, but if
I go suddenly dark...
I was out of pocket Thursday and much of Friday, so this is
a long post--but a great many interesting items.
My health seems to be slowly improving. At rehab Friday, was
able to increase my treadmill time to 18 minutes, speed to 1.7 mph, did 5 sets
of 10 reps each f 3 other exercises, and stayed at 95% O2 saturation on 2 LPM,
down from 3 LPM Wednesday. This (Saturday) morning, my FEV numbers were in the
1.52 range! We took the grand daughter to the Dells Thursday for the Upper
dells oat tour. I walked at both of the landings, one a good ways uphill, and
the sats stayed up. Sitting on the boat at rest, I was able to turn the oxygen
off completely and stay at 95%. Cheering, except the last time I was able to
sit at rest without O2 was at Bonnie's VA volunteer lunch on 5/21. Then on
5/22, I had a bronch; had to go back in the hospital that night, and by Monday,
5/26, I had to be intubated with a breathing ventilator to survive. So cautious

Recently the Koch brothers made

a rage about this, claiming this is just a hypocritical way to influence Blacks
when they claim the Kochs are the real demons behind trying to deny voting
rights to Blacks. That claim doesn't come with any facts or data or examples of
any kind, but I would not be surprised if some Koch money has gone to groups
that support voter ID laws. The “strings” attached to the Kochs’ gift: $18.5
million of $25 million is to create a “Koch Scholars” program, for “exemplary
students” who want to study “how entrepreneurship, economics, and innovation
contribute to well-being for individuals, communities, and society.” Koch
organizations get two of five seats on that scholarship selection committee. $4
