Lots of interesting news and comment today

General Political News and Comment

What next? Had an eye exam at the VA, due to my diabetes and changing vision. Turns out I have started cataracts, but they are not bad enough to operate on. We will see how it goes. (Pun intended.)

About 12:45 Tuesday morning, the tornado sirens went off. We turned on the TV and it said a bad storm with a possible tornado was in east Madison, headed towards Cottage Grove. Huh. We live in east Madison a block off Cottage Grove Road. Off to the basement for a half hour. We didn't get one, but a couple of towns lost homes to one and there was a lot of damage in SW Madison. Then on Wednesday I was getting ready to go to rehab when the "take cover immediately" tornado warning came, followed by lashing wind and rain, so we spent another half hour in the basement. Life sure stays interesting. ~Bob

I'm So Old... By Robert A. Hall

Book Recommendation: Abraham Lincoln: A Life by Thomas Keneally
This is a short (175 pages), very readable account of the life of this American Icon. As a history buff, I didn't learn a lot knew, but it was a great refresher. It will be especially valuable to the individual who doesn't know a lot about Lincoln. my only disagreement is that I thought Keneally was too harsh on Meade. Yes he was too cautious after Gettysburg, and missed a chance to destroy Lee--but his army had suffered a lot as well. And on that field, he stopped Lee, something no other general had done to that point.

Worth Reading: Terrorism for (American) Dummies. By Andy Weddington
Excerpt: Today's comment - one multiple choice question. Q: What country is the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world?

Must Read: The Lois Lerner Defense: File it the next time the IRS calls you up. By Mark Steyn
Excerpt: Furthermore, although the commissioner of the IRS, Douglas Shulman, visited Obama’s White House no fewer than 157 times, which is 156 times more than his predecessor Mark Everson ever visited the White House, we know that this was for legitimate Easter-egg rolls, as he testified to Congress, and meetings to discuss Obamacare. The Easter Bunny, one should note, visits the White House two to four times as often as the average IRS commissioner did before Mr. Shulman came along. But you can’t make a health-care omelet without breaking Easter eggs: It is one of the many distinctive features of Obama-style “health” “care” “reform” that, while it has not led to the hiring of a single additional doctor, nurse, or hospital janitor, it did require the biggest expansion of the IRS since the Second World War. So, when he wasn’t rolling Easter eggs and advising the moppets on whether they needed to declare the luxury Belgian white chocolate balls with praline filling, he was participating in vital meetings on how many extra SWAT teams he was going to need to enforce the new colonoscopy non-compliance penalty. Let us also overlook the excellent treatment received from the IRS by members of the president’s family. (Of all the bureaucracies in the government, the IRS is one that needs above all to be immaculate. No special deals for people, no use of all that power to punish people, not the remotest smidgen of political influences in the performance of their duties. But that has gone by the boards in recent times, and Steyn nails it down solidly. The President's brother, running some kind of game in Kenya, gets instant approval and backdated to a point forbidden by the law, and lives a great lifestyle, and nobody in the IRS asks any questions? The lady who started True The Vote gets hit from all sides within a few months of founding the group to work against voter fraud? Come on, guys, this is not subtle, this is corruption and use of the IRS for very focused political purposes. And every American, no matter what Party they like or dislike, should be horrified and irate about this. --Del)

Totally Unworthy Liberal Icons. By Alicia Colon
Excerpt: I am having a very difficult time figuring out now why so many liberal icons come up short on substance unless it's thanks to media dishonesty. Two of the most dubious icons who continue to garner liberal endorsements are Jane Fonda and Hillary Clinton. Last week Jane Fonda was presented with the American Film Institute's 42nd Life Achievement Award at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. For the life of me I can't imagine why. Did she get it for her Academy Award for Klute; her exercise videos; for looking great at 76; or for being a traitor? Let's face it; the Academy Awards are no longer about quality in performances. (Wow, a real feminist opens up on some supposed icons for women, and really takes them down hard. Of course none of this will get noticed in the mainstream media. --Del)

The New Children’s Crusade: Almost everything we are told about illegal immigration is both a lie and amoral. By Victor Davis Hanson
Excerpt: We are witnessing a sort of children’s crusade on our own southern border. Thousands of young, poor would-be immigrants — 90,000 this year alone — have swarmed across the border, the logical fruition of the entire cynical approach of the Obama administration toward illegal immigration. During his first term, President Obama lectured Latino activists (at the same time he was advising them to “punish our enemies” at the polls) that he was not a tyrant and thus lacked the executive power simply to offer amnesty by fiat. Translated, that meant something along the lines of “Keep cool for another year or two until I am reelected, and then the law becomes irrelevant, and we will have more constituents to enhance our political power.” On cue, after the 2012 election, Obama opened the border and started issuing a series of de facto amnesties to various categories of illegal aliens, especially children.

Thousands to Be Questioned on Eligibility for Health Insurance Subsidies
Excerpt: Of the eight million people who signed up for private health plans through insurance exchanges under the new health care law, two million reported personal information that differed from data in government records, according to federal officials and Serco, the company hired to resolve such inconsistencies.

9 Government Programs Your Tax Dollars Are Being Wasted On. By Michael Sargent
Excerpt: If someone approached you on the street and asked for a dollar to promote mohair exports—or to perfect a weight-sensing skateboard—would you give it to him? Probably not. Yet these are enterprises you have unknowingly supported through paying your federal taxes.
Wasteful projects that should be far outside the scope of government are endemic across federal agencies and need to be eliminated. The problem is that Congress faces pressure from special interests and tough procedural hurdles that make it hard to shutter existing spending projects. And although the Government Accountability Office produces a report every year on ways the government can eliminate waste and save billions, it is often ignored.

Clinton: I’ve ‘gone through the fire’
Excerpt: “We have a good bench, so to speak. But they haven’t gone through the fire. Part of the reason why there’s a big drumbeat for me to run is because I’ve done it,” she said. (Yeah, like under that sniper fire in Bosnia in 1996, getting caught pilfering from the White House ("so broke"), and Vince Foster's mysterious "suicide," and, of course, remember "Whitewater"? Just what the US needs more of....Barb)

Excerpt: In a new twist to the surveillance debate, conservative groups are asking the National Security Agency for help obtaining phone and email records about the Obama administration. Republicans on Capitol Hill and right-leaning organizations have asked the National Security Agency to hand over email and phone records about the Internal Revenue Service and the Environmental Protection Agency. They say they have little other recourse because agencies have stonewalled their requests for documents, at times by claiming messages were lost or stolen. (This is how government covers its a....federal, state, local, all the same. See nothing, hear nothing, do nothing. --Barb. I suggested this--but I was kidding...~Bob)

The Death of Vincent Foster By Michael Rivero Evidence Of A Cover-up
Excerpt: The boxes of documents removed from Foster's office by Hillary Clinton's chief of staff, Margaret Williams, were taken to the private residence area of the White House! Eventually, only 54 pages emerged. One set of billing records, under subpoena for two years, and thought to have originated in Foster's office, turned up unexpectedly in the private quarters of the White House, with Hillary's fingerprints on them! ... But Hillary Clinton, who had only the day before diverted her planned return to Washington D.C. to Little Rock, was on the phone from Little Rock to someone at the White House in the moments before the looting took place.

Excerpt: For one hundred years after we fought the Civil War, a century after over 600,000 soldiers died in a cause to proclaim that a man cannot enslave another, Blacks were beaten, abused, hung by the neck in trees, buried in oil barrels at the bottom of a river, denied the right to vote, forced to endure separate bathrooms and water fountains, denied their place at a drug store soda fountain counter, America turned a deaf ear and looked away as folks were denied their personal liberties. You see, they weren't Black...and no one was coming for them. In the 1940's Adolph Hitler exterminated 7 million Jews. Americans knew about it within the first year, after a million had already been sent to the ovens, and after Himler was turning out lamp shades made out of human Jewish skin. And America turned away and denied it was happening, even as a boatload of refugees docked on our shores, told of the ongoing Holocaust and were turned away from our shores, denied refuge from the most vile of human tragedies. But you weren't Jewish...and no one was coming for you.

Lies: IRS Also "Lost" Emails of Six Other Really Important Officials Who May Have Targeted Conservatives. By Katie Pavlich
Excerpt: Now, the IRS has announced it can't find emails belonging to six high ranking officials involved in the IRS targeting of conservative and tea party groups. One of those officials is former chief of staff to former Acting Commissioner Steven Miller, Nikole Flax. The "lost" emails fall during the time period when "the Washington, DC office wrote and directed the Cincinnati field office to send abusive questionnaires, including inappropriate demands for donor information, to conservative groups," according to the House Ways and Means Committee. During his time at the IRS, Miller made numerous trips to the White House according to visitor logs.
Excerpt: The Internal Revenue Service is required by federal law to keep records of all agency emails and to print out hard copies of the emails to make sure they get saved in the event of a computer glitch. The IRS recently claimed that it lost 24,000 of 67,000 emails that ex-official Lois Lerner sent between 2009 and 2011, due to a computer crash. The IRS, which agreed to turn over all of Lerner’s emails to the House Committee on Ways and Means, specifically lost emails Lerner sent to other Obama administration agencies and the White House. (Well, I'm sure the Attorney General will put them in jail. Ha. ~Bob)

Innocence of Hillary. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: At Andrews Air Force Base, Hillary told the families, “We’ve seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful internet video that we had nothing to do with.”
Even in the presence of the families of the murdered Americans who died because of her, Hillary Clinton was still making lying about Islamic terrorism and apologizing to Muslims into her two major priorities. Two days earlier, Hillary Clinton’s Assistant Secretary of State had told the Libyan ambassador that Ansar Al-Sharia, a group linked to Al Qaeda, was responsible.

Lionizing the Enemy. By Matthew Vadum
Excerpt: Perversely, Joseph calls Carmichael a civil rights leader. If that fairly summarizes Carmichael’s work, he was a civil rights leader only in the bizarre modern sense that racial arsonist like Al Sharpton is a civil rights leader. It is difficult to imagine an American civil rights leader making common cause with ruthless African dictators but that is what Carmichael did. He changed his name to Kwame Toure to honor two of them. In his self-imposed exile he was a courtier to brutal racist tyrants.

Lying Whores or Whoring Lies?: Somaly Mam. By Kathy Shaidle
http://takimag.com/article/lying_whores_or_whoring_lies_kathy_shaidle#axzz34vkZoOSi
Excerpt: Add Somaly Mam’s name to the list of beloved do-gooding impostors, fabulists, and serial exaggerators—Michael Moore, Rigoberta Menchu, Ward Churchill, Elizabeth Warren, Greg “Three Cups of Tea” Mortenson, the “gay girl in Damascus” who turned out to be a middle-aged straight man in Georgia—who’ve faked their way through this century alone. Toss in the plagiarists—Chris Hedges (“Pulitzer winner. Lefty hero.”) is only the latest—and you’ve got a veritable avalanche of Anastasias. How did Somaly Mam fool so many gullible, rich white bleeding hearts for so long? Well, as every hooker learns the hard way, you won’t survive long on these mean streets without a man around to protect you (sweetie). And in Mam’s case, that man was Nicholas Kristof at the New York Times.

PASS THE SICK-BAG: Father of Santa Barbara Shooter Eliot Rodger Meets with Victim's Father. By Elaine Aradillas
http://www.people.com/article/santa-barbara-shooting-shooter-fathers-meet-elliot-rodger-richard-martinez
Excerpt: A series of photos have been released from a private June 1 meeting between two fathers whose children died in a mass shooting at the University of California, Santa Barbara, last month. In the days following the May 23 shooting, Richard Martinez, whose 20-year-old son Christopher was one of six people gunned down by Peter Rodger's son Elliot (who shot himself), suggested a meeting between the two men. (Private -and-released-to-the-press-damage control and...who knows....a celebrity future for somebody or other? --Kate. Why not? It's "society's fault," not bad parenting. ~Bob

Vicodin Ingestion Syndrome. By Theodore Dalrymple
http://takimag.com/article/vicodin_ingestion_syndrome_theodore_dalrymple/print#ixzz34vnmoLiO
Excerpt: The result has been catastrophic, if the deaths of more than 100,000 people [in the United States since the beginning of this century] count as a catastrophe. Dishonest drug companies, careless, supine and cowardly doctors, and egotistical patients who will not take no for an answer have between them caused an epidemic that, had it been attributable to a bacterium or a virus, would have caused widespread panic and calls for all the research resources of modern medicine to be brought to bear upon the problem.)

Google accused of misusing YouTube dominance to threaten independent record labels. By Christopher Williams
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/mediatechnologyandtelecoms/digital-media/10907326/Google-accused-of-misusing-YouTube-dominance-to-threaten-independent-record-labels.html
Excerpt: Google is accused of misusing YouTube’s dominance of music videos online to threaten to cut off artists such as Adele and the Arctic Monkeys from their fans in a dispute over royalties. The web giant said on Tuesday that it will begin removing the videos within days because independent record labels refused to agree to its commercial terms for a forthcoming new subscription streaming service similar to Spotify. (Brighten up your day with Arctic Monkeys: I Bet That You Look Good on the Dance Floor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7dt1li5SyY -- Kate.)

CNN’s Jake Tapper Proves Mass Shootings Not on the Rise
http://lastresistance.com/6158/cnns-jake-tapper-proves-mass-shootings-rise/
Excerpt: CNN’s Jake Tapper recently took the liberal meme that mass shootings are on the rise, head on. He interviewed Northeastern University Professor James Allen Fox about the research Fox has done that proves that mass shootings are NOT on the rise.

Justice Department’s Latest Action Violates Federal Immigration Law. By Hans von Spakovsky
Excerpt: There is one big problem with Holder’s plan to fund legal representation for illegal aliens: It violates federal law. Federal immigration law (8 U.S.C. §1229a) lays out the rules governing removal proceedings in the immigration courts, which are administrative courts run by the Justice Department, not Article III federal courts. Under Section 1229a(b)(4)(A), aliens have the “privilege of being represented, at no expense to the government, by counsel of the alien’s choosing.” Thus, there is no question illegal aliens can be represented by lawyers in immigration removal proceedings, but it also is clear representation cannot be at the expense of the government. (Great. So who you gonna get to enforce the law? The AG? Holder and Obama ARE the law now. ~Bob)

Why Benghazi Matters
This video on the Benghazi issue is really hard hitting and to the point. In his latest, hard-hitting FIREWALL, Bill provides a moment-by-moment breakdown of the events leading up to the attack on the Consulate in Benghazi, a detailed analysis of who was doing and saying what as the attack was underway, and chronicles the following ten days of deceptions and lies on the part of the White House and the State Department, throwing a clear, cold and unflattering light on the competence and character of the President and Secretary of State. It's only about 10 minutes long and worth every minute. --Don

NYC Being Overwhelmed by Illegal Immigrant Children
Excerpt: With some comparing it to a refugee crisis, New York City, among other areas, is struggling to deal with the explosion of illegal immigrant children brought about by the Obama administration’s failed policies. (And the fundamental transformation of America ges on. This is not a failed policy. It is a very successful policy to convince Americans to support citizenship for millions of illegals who will vote Democrat to get government benefits. You will be expected to pay for all this. Or your grandkids will. ~Bob)

California Diminishes Union Power in Schools
http://conservativebyte.com/2014/06/california-diminishes-union-power-schools/Excerpt: Teachers unions—already experiencing a drop in membership and public sentiment— took another large blow last week when Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Rolf M. Treu struck down five California laws that govern the hiring and firing of teachers. The decision, Vergara v. State of California, will significantly diminish the influence of unions over personnel decisions and empower principals and school leaders with the ability to keep the most effective teachers in their classroom and dismiss ineffective teachers.

Hypocrites: Wealthy Clintons Use Trusts to Limit Estate Tax They Back. By Richard Rubin
Show me your shocked face. ~Bob. Excerpt: Bill and Hillary Clinton have long supported an estate tax to prevent the U.S. from being dominated by inherited wealth. That doesn’t mean they want to pay it. To reduce the tax pinch, the Clintons are using financial planning strategies befitting the top 1 percent of U.S. households in wealth. These moves, common among multimillionaires, will help shield some of their estate from the tax that now tops out at 40 percent of assets upon death.

Federal agency cancels Redskins trademark registration, says name is disparaging
Excerpt: The United States Patent and Trademark Office has canceled the Washington Redskins trademark registration, calling the football team’s name “disparaging to Native Americans.”(How about those "Browns?" or "Giants? or "Vikings"? or 'Chiefs"? --JB)

Come to Think of It, We Haven't Seen a Good Poll for Obama in a Long Time. By Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt
You know how it seems like bad news never sticks to President Obama? Well, maybe it does after a while. He's at his worst numbers ever in ReutersGallup has Obama's job approval at 41 percent. TheEconomist/YouGov survey has him at 41 percent.Bloomberg has him at 43 percent, and significantly lower on most issues. CNN has him at 43 percent, with 55 percent disapproving. These are some pretty crappy poll numbers, and it's been a long while since Obama's seen any consistently good numbers.

The Collapsing Obama Doctrine: Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many. By Dick Cheney and Liz Cheney
Excerpt: Too many times to count, Mr. Obama has told us he is "ending" the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan—as though wishing made it so. His rhetoric has now come crashing into reality. Watching the black-clad ISIS jihadists take territory once secured by American blood is final proof, if any were needed, that America's enemies are not "decimated." They are emboldened and on the march.

Worth Reading: Slavery Reparations. By Walter E. Williams
Excerpt: First off, let me say that I agree with reparations advocates that slavery was a horrible, despicable violation of basic human rights. The gross discrimination that followed emancipation made a mockery of the guarantees of the U.S. Constitution. I also agree that slave owners and slave traders should make reparations to those whom they enslaved. The problem, of course, is that slaves, slave owners and slave traders are all dead. Thus, punishing perpetrators and compensating victims is out of the hands of the living. Punishing perpetrators and compensating victims is not what reparations advocates want. They want government to compensate today's blacks for the bondage suffered by our ancestors.

Religion of Peace News

A Bitter After-Taste. By Thomas Sowell
Excerpt: The news from Iraq that Islamic terrorists have now taken over cities that American troops liberated during the Iraq war must have left an especially bitter after-taste to Americans who lost a loved one who died taking one of those cities, or to a survivor who came back without an arm or leg, or with other traumas to body or mind. Surely we need to learn something from a tragedy of this magnitude.

Iraq crisis: Battle grips vital Baiji oil refinery
Excerpt: The Iraqi military says it has driven off Islamist-led militants attacking the country's biggest oil refinery amid reports it had been overrun. The army said 40 attackers had been killed, a claim which could not be verified independently. But an official source told Reuters the rebels had seized 75% of the Baiji refinery north of Baghdad.

US Forces Move Into Iraq With Security Mission
Excerpt: Nearly 300 armed American forces are being positioned in and around Iraq to help secure U.S. assets as President Barack Obama nears a decision on an array of options for combating fast-moving Islamic insurgents, including airstrikes or a contingent of special forces.

DHS Adviser Says Caliphate's Return Inevitable. By John Rossomando
A member of President Obama's Homeland Security Advisory Council known for controversial Twitter posts that seem to support the Muslim Brotherhood wrote Friday that it is "inevitable that 'Caliphate' returns." Mohamed Elibiary has been controversial since he was first appointed to the taskforce in 2010. He was closely associated with Shukri abu Baker, former executive director of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development - one of five people convicted for illegal Hamas support in 2008. Elibiary argued that there was a "lack of evidence" in the HLF case and suggested that it was a political prosecution.

Criticism of Obama mounts as Islamists sweep through Iraq
Excerpt: Members of Congress said it is time for the White House to link up with Arab allies and quell the violence. Top Republicans said the administration has sat on the sidelines for too long as the fighting threatens to undo what U.S. troops accomplished during the war in Iraq. The bloodshed spurred by militants from an al Qaeda splinter group could topple the country’s fragile government while civil war rages in neighboring Syria, they said, offering a magnet for Islamist extremists from the region and even Western nations.

EDITORIAL: Iraq crumbles on Obama’s watch
Excerpt: Barack Obama doesn’t hear about a crisis, whether in Benghazi or Syria or Ukraine or at the IRS, until he reads about it in the newspapers. He says so himself. The opportunity for democratic government in Iraq, purchased with the blood and bone of thousands of splendid young Americans, is crumbling, and once more the president is surprised. The disaster in Iraq is stunning.

The boy jihadis: Sickening new images reveal gun-toting children as young as eight watching ISIS execution as Shia prison guards 'slaughter 44 Sunni inmates north of Baghdad'
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2658858/Baghdads-teens-join-fight-video-ISIS-executing-Iraqi-soldiers-emerges.html#ixzz34vZh2m4j
Excerpt: Shocking video emerged today showing armed militant children - some no older than eight - proudly overseeing the execution of a prisoner in cold blood as jihadi fighters continue their ruthless drive to topple Iraq. Footage shows a man surrounded by a baying mob of masked insurgents reportedly in the city of Mosul which was taken by ISIS militants last week. Among the separatists, a number of children are seen brandishing automatic weapons as they watch on unmoved just a few feet away. (And in our country, officials expel children for making paper guns, biting sandwiches in the shape of guns, pointing fingers as guns.....Looks what is coming at us through the open borders..--Barb. Imaagine in 20 years. A kid who was punished for making a "gun" with his fingers meets a kid who was armed with an AK-47 and watched "enemies of Allah" executed as a child, in battle. Who wins? ~Bob.)

New Report: Syria Joins Iran In Sending Military To Fight Isis In Iraq
Excerpt: The Obama administration also announced that it would consider the possibility of working with Iran to help stabilize the country. ... Iran is not the only questionable ally at play in Iraq, however. According to a Fox News report, Syria's Assad has joined the fray despite having major instability issues at home, where the country continues to suffer through a civil war.

Iraq crisis: ISIS advances on Baquba as U.S. moves firepower to region
Excerpt: Meanwhile, the Pentagon is moving more firepower and manpower into the region to prepare for whatever U.S. President Barack Obama orders. Already at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, dozens of Marines and Army troops have moved in to beef up security. Another 100 personnel are in the region to provide support if needed, the Pentagon said. (This job is hard, isn't it, Mr. President? It's hard to disagree with the decision to move troops to protect our people in country. It's also hard to stifle a chuckle that the man whose entire rise in national politics was driven by the insistence that we had to get all U.S. troops out of Iraq, and that the fate of that country was no longer America's concern, now finds himself sending more troops into that country and realizing that control of Iraq is indeed very much an American concern. -- Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt http://www.nationalreview.com/newsletters

US Postwar Policy in Iraq Needed More Germany, Less Vietnam. By Dan O'Shea
Excerpt: Today, as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) continues its drive toward Baghdad with American-built Humvees captured from fleeing Iraqi Army units, the US Embassy is “temporarily relocating” staff. This, after Tikrit, the birthplace of Saddam Hussein, and Mosul, the second-largest city in Iraq, fell to ISIS last week. These things are beyond troubling — but they were also predictable.

Surprise: My Search for the Taliban Five. By Josh Rogin
Excerpt: here was also competition. We learned that at least three major news organizations had sent full crews to Doha this week to try to find the Taliban Five. As far as I know, none have yet succeeded. For these other news organizations, their hunt for the ex-prisoners was a multi-thousand dollar high-risk gambit. For me, it was a fun excuse to tour the real Doha since I was already in the neighborhood.

Benghazi attack suspect captured by American team, en route to US
Excerpt: A suspected terrorist linked to the 2012 Benghazi terror attack that killed four Americans has been captured inside Libya by U.S. forces and currently is en route to the United States, Fox News has learned. Sources told Fox News that the suspect, Ansar al-Sharia commander Ahmed Abu Khattala, was captured Sunday during a joint U.S. military and law enforcement operation, and will face prosecution in the United States. (He was easy to ID. He had several copies of the YouTube video in his possession, and a copy of his thank you note to Susan Rice. ~Bob.)

US captures first suspect in Behghazi attack. By Ed Morrissey
http://hotair.com/archives/2014/06/17/breaking-us-captures-first-suspect-in-benghazi-attack/
Excerpt: Michael Calderone noted last December for Huffington Post the oddity of seeing [captured suspect] Khattala giving media interviews in Benghazi and elsewhere while the Obama administration insisted that it was doing everything it could to bring the attackers to justice:

ISIS, Iran, and the Rot of Political Islam. We should take the fanatic Islamists at their word: They hate freedom, and the whole world is their target. By Tom Rogan
Excerpt: “Don’t listen to those who speak of democracy. They all are against Islam. They want to take the nation away from its mission. We will break all the poison pens of those who speak of nationalism, democracy, and such things.” — Ayatollah Khomeini, from a sermon at Qom. “Islam cannot accept or agree to a situation which is half-Islam and half-Jahiliyya [separated from God].” — Sayyid Qutb, Milestones. Those quotes encapsulate the hatred for freedom that defines both ISIS and the Khomeini-guardianship theology of Iran. To be sure, ISIS and Iran harbor deep hatred for each other. Still, their shared malevolence is telling.

Excerpt: The harassment of the two Jews began after they boarded a metro train at Cité Universitaire in central Paris. A man who appeared to be of Middle Eastern descent confronted them and, according to the BNVCA report, called them “dirty Jews” declaring: “I’m a Nazi, I’m German, long live Hitler, we’re going to gas you, he didn’t finish the job.” He also said: “Jews created the crisis and now there are poor people.” The man was joined by a younger woman who reportedly praised him for “telling the truth.” A third passenger then hit the Jewish man in the leg while the woman shouted: “We’re the Muslims, we will blow you up.”

Excerpt: Spanish police arrested eight people in pre-dawn raids in Madrid on Monday against a jihadist recruitment network led by a former Guantanamo Bay inmate, the government said.

Teen captives deserve whatever they get because they are Jews: World media. By Caroline B. Glick
Excerpt: Three Jewish boys were abducted by Palestinian terrorists while trying to catch a ride home from school Thursday night. And as far as the foreign press is concerned, it's their own damned fault. As Honest Reporting documented, everyone from The Guardian to CNN, to Sky News to the Christian Science Monitor blamed Eyal Yifrach, Gil-Ad Shaer and Naftali Frankel for their victimization. The boys deserve whatever they get, according to the media, because they are Jews and Jews have no right to be located anywhere that the Palestinians demand be cleansed of Jewish presence.
