Weird Trick keeps you informed of political news and opinion

The "Weird Trick" is to read the Old Jarhead Blog everyday. Well, all the email feeds I'm on use "Weird Trick Does X" in the subject line when trying to sell me something, so it must work. Except my blog seeks to educate readers, not make money off them.

We took m Marine Buddy John Payne to the airport today, so hopefully he's safe back in Louisiana as you read this. Has to report to the VA there and come back in two months, but we are hoping they have his challenges under control. He thanks everyone I told him was praying for him. ~Bob

General News and Comment

More Clinton deceit comes to light. By Jennifer Rubin
Excerpt: News reports today reveal that Sidney Blumenthal, Hillary Clinton’s crony barred from the State Department but worming his way into State via more than two dozen memos, has turned over previously undiscovered emails. As the, this raises “new questions about whether the State Department and Mrs. Clinton have complied with a series of requests from the [Benghazi panel].” Perhaps she put them in the “personal” category before destroying them and wiping her server. Reacting angrily, Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) in a written statement said, “New revelations that the Obama State Department or former Secretary Hillary Clinton withheld emails related to Benghazi and Libya from the Select Committee are outrageous.”

Sanders Gains on Hillary in NH Poll, Leads Among Democratic Men. By Guy Benson
Excerpt: As politicos gawked at Donald Trump's stream-of-consciousness announcement of his net worth (and presidential campaign), a Suffolk poll out of New Hampshire likely sent a shiver up Team Hillary's collective spine. Unelectable avowed Socialist Bernie Sanders -- whose backwards views on economics are somewhat leavened by his honesty and earnestness -- is within shouting distance of the Clinton Death Star in the early primary state:

Reminder: Hillary Clinton's Daughter is Married to a Hedge Fund Manager. By Katie Pavlich
Excerpt: In case you missed it over the weekend, Hillary Clinton gave a speech attacking hedge fund managers. "While many of you are working multiple jobs to make ends meet, you see the top 25 hedge fund managers making more than all of America’s kindergarten teachers combined. And, often paying a lower tax rate," she said during the official launch of her 2016 presidential campaign. There's just one problem. Chelsea Clinton, Hillary Clinton's daughter, is married to Marc Mezvinsky. Mezvinsky is not just a hedge fund manager, but a co-founder of a hedge fund. And how did he get a number of his big money investors? Through his ties to the Clintons.

20 Hillary Clinton Quotes You Should Read Before Voting For Her. By John Hawkins
Excerpt: “Many of you are well enough off that the tax cuts may have helped you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”

Hillary Charged Kids’ Charity $200,000 For Speech. By Patrick Hawley
Excerpt: Hillary Clinton charged a kids’ charity $200,000 to speak — and she pocketed every dime.

Feed the slush fund: Clintons charge big fees to small groups. The Clinton Foundation has taken in as much as $11M in payments from non-profit groups. By Kenneth P. Vogel
Excerpt: When Condoleezza Rice headlined a 2009 fundraising luncheon for the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach, she collected a $60,000 speaking fee, then donated almost all of it back to the club, according to multiple sources familiar with the club’s finances. Hillary Clinton was not so generous to the small charity, which provides after-school programs to underprivileged children across the Southern California city. Clinton collected $200,000 to speak at the same event five years later, but she donated nothing back to the club, which raised less than half as much from Clinton’s appearance as from Rice’s, according to the sources and tax filings. Instead, Clinton steered her speaking fee to her family’s own sprawling $2 billion charity.

Ed Henry: Secret Service Not ‘Supposed To Be Protecting’ Hillary ‘From Reporters’ [VIDEO]. By Al Weaver
Excerpt: Fox News’ Ed Henry responded on “America’s Newsroom” Tuesday to Hillary Clinton’s campaign’s controlling press operation after he was shut down trying to ask Clinton a question. Henry complained about the Secret Service’s attempt to protect Clinton, adding that the Clinton press team is not being fair with the traveling media.

A Simple Question for Hillary Clinton on Israel
Excerpt: In June 2015, Hillary Clinton claimed to have been a strong ally for Israel. Without getting into the history of her tenure as Secretary of State, (when she could claim she was following the orders of US President Barack Obama), here is a simple question for Hillary on her presidential run: will she reintroduce the pro-Israel Democratic platform that was present in 2008, but abolished under Obama in 2012?

MSNBC Reporter: Obama-Clinton Foreign Policy Not Something to Brag About
Excerpt: “First of all, Democrats tend to care about the economy, social security and things like that more,” Bacon said. “Second of all let’s be blunt, the Obama-Clinton foreign policy is not something to brag about I would argue, the growth of ISIS, failures in Iraq.”
Huffington Post reporter Howard Fineman said Clinton wants to focus on her mother and not her time in public service.

Hillary's Campaign: Experienced professionals expected to risk their careers by working without pay
Excerpt: Hey, Hillary said she wanted to raise a billion dollars during her campaign. She never said she wanted to spend it on the election!

Wait Till You See How Many Times Hillary Clinton Supported an Agreement She’s Now Trying to Dodge. By Megan Vazquez
Excerpt: But Clinton took a more skeptical line this past Sunday in Iowa, when she said Democrats should kill the proposed deal if it wasn’t up to their standards: “No president would be a tougher negotiator on behalf of American workers, either with our trade partners or Republicans on Capitol Hill, than I would be.” On Monday, CNN responded by publishing an article on Clinton’s past statements on the trade agreement. CNN noted not one, or two, but 45 instances where Clinton supported the TPP full-heartedly, mostly during her tenure as Secretary of State in the Obama administration.

Worth Reading: The Ex-Im Bank: Corporate Welfare Only Hillary Clinton Could Love. By Andy Koenig
Excerpt: Strangely, Hillary Clinton has made Ex-Im one of the few issues she’s actually addressed on the campaign trail. In New Hampshire, she praised the bank and called on Congress to reauthorize its charter when it expires at the end of this month. A quick look at the bank’s record shows why the rest of us shouldn’t want Clinton to get her way. Just like Hillary Clinton, the Ex-Im Bank is at the beck-and-call of some of America’s largest companies. In 2013,81% of the bank’s taxpayer funding directly subsidized big businesses. Roughly two-thirds of its money helped a mere ten businesses, some of which had profit margins in the hundreds of millions or even the tens of billions of dollars.

Hillary Clinton Goes to Welfare Island. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: Hillary Clinton decided to deliver her first major policy speech on Welfare Island; the site of a notoriously brutal prison and lunatic asylum.
Like Hillary, Welfare Island has gone through many identities to try and fix its image problem. It was Blackwell’s Island when it was the site of the New York City Lunatic Asylum described by Dickens as a place of “naked ugliness and horror.” You can see the grim ruins of the Smallpox Hospital which some have claimed is haunted by the ghosts of those who suffered and died there.
And the ghosts, those of Welfare Island and of the Clintons, were out in force during her appearance.

Interesting: Russ Feingold, father of campaign finance reform, having problems with his PAC. By M.D. Kittle
Excerpt: It’s been a rough start for Russ Feingold and his bid to take back the U.S. Senate seat he lost to conservative Ron Johnson in 2010. Feingold, the father of campaign finance reform, has been exposed for using his political action committee to line his pockets and those of his progressive pals. Johnson’s camp and the Republican Party of Wisconsin have labeled it a “slush fund.” Whatever you call it, the “dark money” narrative that Feingold helped his fellow liberals create seems to have backfired in his use of his Progressives United PAC.

Russ Feingold's PAC funded fees, salaries for former staffers, himself. By Daniel Bice, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
Excerpt: Former U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold — long a champion of campaign finance reform — founded a political action committee that has given a mere 5% of its income to federal candidates and political parties. Instead, nearly half of the $7.1 million that Progressives United PAC  has spent since 2011 has gone to raising more money for itself, according to data compiled by OpenSecrets.org. The data also show the group has paid another sizable chunk of money on salaries or consulting fees for Feingold, his top aide and eight former staffers. A top GOP official said it was incredible that Feingold's fund spent so little helping candidates and so much aiding his personal associates. Feingold is taking on Sen. Ron Johnson, a Republican, in 2016 to try to win back his old U.S. Senate seat.

Duckworth whistle-blower trial date set
Excerpt: A trial date has been set in a whistle-blower lawsuit involving U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth. In a case dating to her tenure as a member of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's administration, the Democrat from Hoffman Estates is alleged to have retaliated against two employees of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs. After six years of legal wrangling, a Union County judge on June 2 scheduled a bench trial for April 4, 2016. A pre-trial hearing is set for Aug. 4 at the courthouse in Jonesboro. The trial date comes as Duckworth is in the midst of trying to unseat Republican U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk in the November 2016 election. She faces a March 2016 primary challenge from Chicago Urban League CEO Andrea Zopp.

Europe Is Urged to Prepare for Greek Default as Stances Harden on Debt Deal
Excerpt: A chorus of voices on Monday called on European Union authorities to plan for Greece to default on its huge pile of debt after bailout talks between Athens and its creditors deteriorated over the weekend. But while European leaders dialed up the sense of urgency, they did little to offer a way to break the deadlock. ...Some senior politicians and policy makers from Germany were among the most outspoken, with one warning of the need for a “state of emergency” to handle the potential fallout from a failure to reach a deal with the Greek government.

Book Recommendation: Marines Help. By Andy Weddington
Excerpt: Marines help. That is just the way it is.

Worth Reading: Micro-totalitarianism. By Thomas Sowell
Excerpt: The political left has come up with a new buzzword: "micro-aggression." Professors at the University of California at Berkeley have been officially warned against saying such things as "America is the land of opportunity." Why? Because this is considered to be an act of "micro-aggression" against minorities and women. Supposedly it shows that you don't take their grievances seriously and are therefore guilty of being aggressive toward them, even if only on a micro scale.

Interesting: When Reillys Attack (or Aggressively Defend). By Tom Kratman
Excerpt: Read Part I of this series to get caught up. Things in the Fort Sherman jungle continued at a lesser pace for the next week or ten days. Reilly’s boys managed to destroy one more company in a single action and basically traded off themselves more or less one for one for an equivalent of a company. The Jungle Operations Training Center cadre was becoming rather annoyed with Reilly, for his insistence on “fighting” to win rather than playing die-in-place training aid.1 The cadre had a point or, rather, two of them, there, too. One was that he and his ad hoc company were supposed to be die-in-place training aids. Yes, even if no one admitted that was the mission, that was the mission. The other reason, one far less defensible, hence not directly stated, was on the order of, “You’re making us look stupid, Lieutenant, hence undermining the school. And we don’t like it a bit.”2 Reilly’s position was also not indefensible. It amounted to: “You guys have been giving out patches that say ‘Jungle Expert’ for decades and it’s all bullshit. Nobody is going to become a jungle expert by anything this school or any school can do. (Tom Kratman is a retired USA LtCol, an occasional contributor to this blog, and an outstand author of military science fiction, including the A Desert Called Peace series. http://www.amazon.com/Desert-Called-Peace-Carrera-Book-ebook/dp/B00B5HJOFY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426715332&sr=8-1&keywords=Peace+Kratman ~Bob)

Political Correctness Has Destroyed The Army’s Readiness And Morale. By Ray Starmann
Excerpt: The U.S. Army is facing its greatest danger as an institution since the 1970’s. Stricken with morale and readiness problems, it is also under attack from leftist social engineers who are determined to remake the Army, even if they have to destroy it. In the 1980’s, men who carried the burden of terrible lessons learned in Vietnam rebuilt the U.S. Army. They created a spectacularly professional force that annihilated Saddam’s legions in a defeat not seen since Agincourt. That Army is nearly extinct. (A screed about how things have really gone to hell in the PC Army. Sadly, way too much of this is based on fact and common sense. Opening up the military so women can serve well in it was a fine thing, eliminating gross discrimination of gays was good as well. But pushing women into the infantry and glorifying gays and transgenders to the point where regular heterosexual men are now the second class people is totally nuts. Converting the culture from the already bad tendency for some generals to be politicians first and soldiers second to where being political is the absolute critical value for rank and power is further insanity. These are the ways to cut the heart out of a military organization, and it is working. We are lucky to have enough good people still hanging in there to get some things done, but the dry rot can only spread steadily until even the elite units start to fall apart, since all the best people will despair and opt out. Can we survive two more years until there's a different leader in the White House and hopefully the rebuilding of the military ethos can begin? I pray so. it seems like the Corps may be just a tad more resistant to all this than the other branches have been. We can hope so. -- Del)

Excerpt: Iknoor Singh, a Sikh ROTC student has successfully sued the Army so that he can continue to wear his turban and remain unshaven when he enters the service according to the Long Island Press; ... I have nothing against Sikhs, they have a proud and courageous warrior tradition, but I think the first time that young Iknoor Singh experiences the gas chamber, he might question his victory when he can’t get a good seal on his mask. (I wonder what would happen if every general and admiral submitted their resignations at once saying we cannot be responsible for defending the country under these PC conditions. ~Bob)

Bill Maher and Don Lemon join the anti-PC crusade to save speech
Excerpt: And, lo, it came to pass that we agreed with Bill Maher. Maher, who at times has needled the PC police on issues such as alleged Islamophobia and other liberal orthodoxies, here asks roast master Jeff Ross about the PC plague on comedy. Guy Benson and I wrote a whole chapter in “End of Discussion” about just this, featuring an interview with Adam Carolla and quotes from a range of comedians who have been saying much the same in circles amongst themselves for a couple of years. I’m glad it’s all going mainstream.

Triumph of ego over reality: Donald Trump begins 2016 bid, citing his outsider status
Excerpt: Donald Trump, the reality TV and real estate impresario, descended a golden escalator in a building that bears his name to announce that this time, he actually is running for president.
“I will be the greatest jobs president that God ever created,” he said Tuesday in a rambling speech that declared America has become a “laughing stock all over the world.” (I haven't decided who my favorite candidate is, but the bottom of the list is now locked in. ~Bob)

The Donald: "I Don’t Need Anybody’s Money. It’s Nice…I’m Really Rich.”
Excerpt: This, in a nutshell, is what makes Trump awesome. Trump may be the only candidate in the race who isn’t ashamed of being wealthy. He sees wealth as something Americans should strive for and be proud of, not something Americans should degrade. Trump also said that he had lobbyists who could get him any policy he wanted, and that as president, because of his wealth, he wouldn’t be beholden to anyone. If Trump actually sticks to this pitch, he’d do a true service to America, where Mitt Romney is supposed to act contrite for earning lots of money and creating lots of jobs. “I’m proud of my net worth,” Trump said. “I’ve done an amazing job.” He then showed his financial statement, clocking in at $8.7 billion, and said, “I’m not doing that to brag.”

Donald Trump: "I will be the greatest jobs president God ever created."
Excerpt: I’ll bring back our jobs from China, from Mexico, from Japan, from so many places. I’ll bring back our jobs and I’ll bring back our money,” he said. “Right now, think of this. We owe China $1.3 trillion. We owe Japan more than that. So they come in and they take our jobs, they take our money and then they loan us back the money and we pay them interest and then the dollar goes up so their deal is even better. How stupid are our leaders?”

Crooked and stupid: The mysterious case of $54 million VA spent on prosthetics in $24,999 payments. By Lisa Rein
Excerpt: Employees in the purchasing department of a VA hospital in the Bronx had used government purchase cards like credit cards at least 2,000 times to buy prosthetic legs and arms for veterans. Each time they swiped the cards, it was for $24,999. That was precisely one dollar below VA’s charging limit for purchase cards. When word reached Congress about the $54,435,743 worth of prosthetics bought under such odd circumstances over two years — the subject of an inspector general investigation announced Monday — lawmakers demanded details. But they were told there was no documentation.

Beatle Paul's Daughter Stella McCartney's New Fashion Line Celebrates Che Guevara and Fidel Castro
Excerpt: Over twenty-times as many Cubans have died attempting to escape the “Fun!” Cuba of Stella McCartney’s garden party props as Germans died trying to escape East Germany. And the Cubans died much more horribly; of exposure, thirst, drowning or being eaten alive by sharks.(Stella McCartney lived up the street from me in London. She got in trouble for building an open-air shower on her roof without getting planning permission. The neighbors complained. She had to tear it down. --Kate)

Inconsistent: Can We Stop With the 'I Can't Judge Because I'm Not (Insert Race, Gender, or Other)' Line? By Rob Knowles
On Monday, CNN’s Ashleigh Banfield used one of the most annoying phrases in the world when discussing the Rachel Dolezal debacle: “Beyond that though, is it offensive? I mean, that’s the question for me. I can’t answer it because I’m white. I don’t know if it’s offensive if someone were pretending to be white and I want to know if it’s offensive if a white woman is pretending to be a black woman.” I can’t answer because I’m white. That phrase is such a limiting one. In other words, “I can’t judge because I don’t have any personal experience with this issue that would inform my opinion.” If that’s the case, if Banfield cannot answer the question because of a lack of personal experience in that area, what is she good for as a correspondent? Moreover, what else can’t she answer? (You never hear liberals say, "I can't judge Republicans, Israelis, Conservatives, the Rich, serial killers, rapists or Nazis because I'm not one." ~Bob)

Ex-Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck pleads guilty to rape
Excerpt: Former Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck pleaded guilty Tuesday to fourth-degree rape at a brief Superior Court hearing. Shattuck, the ex-wife of former Constellation Energy CEO Mayo A. Shattuck, was accused of having a relationship with a 15-year-old classmate of her son — including performing oral sex on him in a rental property in Bethany Beach, prosecutors allege. (Whoopi will say, "It wasn't rape, rape." ~Bob)

Cultural Marxism: Nobel Scientist Fired for Making Innocent Joke About Women in Science
Excerpt: Now comes an even more outrageous story involving what’s usually called political correctness, but should really be labeled what it is: evil. Sir Tim Hunt is a darn good scientist. So good, apparently, that he won the 2001 Nobel Prize in physiology. But none of this matters to the University College London, which just forced this esteemed mind to resign over a joke he made at a conference on women in science in South Korea. The quip has been called “sexist,” you see...Here's the joke...“Let me tell you about my trouble with girls. Three things happen when they are in the lab. You fall in love with them, they fall in love with you, and when you criticize them, they cry.” (From Kate.)

Summing Up the Life of David Horowitz
Excerpt: Horowitz is still a religious non-believer, and so faith will not be carrying him calmly and assuredly to a better place after death. But Horowitz admits his non-belief does not mean that others who do have such faith, such as his wife, are wrong to feel as they do. It is simply something that he thinks is unknowable while alive. Many non-believers today, particularly those on the left, mock those who believe. Horowitz is not among them. So too, many who are believers are convinced that a main reason to behave well on earth is because we are being judged for the afterlife. Horowitz makes a good case for behaving well as its own reward -- how being kind to others -- family, friends, and other living things (in Horowitz’s case dogs and horses, either living with the family or rescued and moved to better people and places) -- brings happiness and a feeling of having done something good and important.

Study: Nazi schooling left lifelong mark on Germans
Excerpt: Anti-Semitic propaganda taught to German children schooled during the Nazi period had a lifelong effect, leaving them far more likely than Germans born earlier or later to harbor negative views of Jews, according to a study published Monday. The findings indicate that attempts to influence public attitudes are most effective when they target young people, particularly if the message confirms existing beliefs, the authors said. (Why liberals moved into education...~Bob)

Emails: Disney ‘Loosened Reins’ On Employment Black List Following Negative Reports
Excerpt: The laid off American tech workers Disney forced to train their own replacements are no longer on a “black list” that bars Disney contractors from hiring them, according to emails from at least one recruiting firm. “You were right about them loosening the reins,” a recruiter wrote in an email obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation, after the firm reached out directly to Disney. “They will take it on a case by case basis, but it is not written in stone about the 1 year break.”

The OPM Data Breach Is the Clearest Symbol of the Obama Era. By Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt (Morning Jolt is free and worth your time to read.)
Excerpt: The story of the Obama era is the story of one colossal federal-government train wreck after another. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms shipped guns to Mexican drug cartels in Fast & Furious. Recovery.gov, allegedly designed to promote openness and accountability, ended up filled with bad data. The stimulus “was riddled with a massive labor scheme that harmed workers and cheated unsuspecting American taxpayers.” The president stood in front of the White House, urging the American public to use Healthcare.gov when it wasn’t working. The U.S. Secret Service, which began the Obama presidency by allowing the Salahis into the White House and stumbled through one humiliating scandal of unprofessional behavior after another. The Obama administration toppled the government of Libya -- without any supporting act of Congress -- then sent Americans there and ignored the security requests from our ambassador. The NSA hired Ed Snowden and gave him the keys to the kingdom after a month. Veterans died, waiting for care, while the branch offices of the VA assured Washington everything is fine. We traded terrorists for a prisoner, sealing the deal with an assurance to the public that Bowe Bergdahl “served with honor and distinction.” The IRS data breachThe postal-service data breach. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration hack. The data breach at federal contractor US Investigations Services, which performs background checks on DHS, ICE and border-patrol units. And now, the epic OPM hack. We are governed by progressives who have an infinite faith in the federal government’s ability to manage enormously complicated tasks and almost no interest in ensuring the government actually does those tasks well.

Rising Dragon News

China's Big Hack Attack. By Cal Thomas
Excerpt: Upon hearing of the massive data breach of employee information from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) — allegedly by hackers working for the Chinese government — Kay Coles James, the former director of OPM under George W. Bush, told me she was “aghast,” adding, “I can’t think about the national security implications of a foreign government knowing every single federal employee, where they work, where they live, all of their significant data. Think about what that information can do in the hands of people who want to do us harm.”
Joel Brenner, a former top counterintelligence official for the U.S. government, has thought about it. He called the hack attack “potentially devastating.” Brenner told The Washington Post that personnel files “contain decades of personal information about people with (security) clearances … which makes them easier to recruit for foreign espionage on behalf of a foreign country.”

Worth Reading: How the Chinese data breach reveals a flaw in the modern American character. By Michael Brendon Dougherty
Excerpt: But the real revelation in this data breach turns out to be the vices of the federal government itself. The data vulnerability of the OPM was identified as a "material weakness" by the Inspector General's office in 2007. The office had no IT staff on hand. According to a report in Ars Technica, the OPM had little idea about the scale of the data it even harbored on its servers or how it was organized. ... You might expect outrage, but so far this system-wide failure has been met with a shrug. The federal government zealously guards its powers to compile ziggurats of data on Americans when those powers are challenged by libertarians like Rand Paul. But the job the government is actually supposed to do with data — keep it safe and us safe with it — is entirely left undone. The zeal disappears once the data is stacked, somewhere.

Gun News

Bankrupt gun maker Colt up for auction. Opening bid: $0
Excerpt: An affiliate of private equity firm Sciens Capital Management has proposed buying Colt Defense CDEFHC.UL by assuming obligations including up to $105 million in outstanding loans and as much as $20 million in new loans, court documents filed on Monday show. The so-called stalking horse bid does not involve any cash and sheds $250 million in bonds. In other words, Colt would look much like it does now, only without the bonds. (Colt has to be one of the most respected–dare I say ‘revered?’–names in American manufacturing. It is actually easier for me to imagine Chevrolet being auctioned off. Ron P.)

Bystander shoots, kills robber at East Knoxville convenience store
Excerpt: A man who attempted to rob an East Knoxville convenience store early Monday morning was shot and killed by a bystander, according to Knoxville Police Department. Officers responded to the Breadbox located on the 6200 block of Asheville Highway around 2:35 a.m after receiving a call that shots had been fired. When officials arrived, they found Tamon J. Stapleton, 18, dead with a gunshot wound. Police say Stapleton, armed with a 9mm handgun, had entered the store and was forcing the female clerk behind the counter at gunpoint.

NRA: Gun blogs, videos, web forums threatened by new Obama regulation. By Paul Bedard
Excerpt: Commonly used and unregulated internet discussions and videos about guns and ammo could be closed down under rules proposed by the State Department, amounting to a "gag order on firearm-related speech," the National Rifle Association is warning. In updating regulations governing international arms sales, State is demanding that anyone who puts technical details about arms and ammo on the web first get the OK from the federal government — or face a fine of up to $1 million and 20 years in jail. According to the NRA, that would include blogs and web forums discussing technical details of common guns and ammunition, the type of info gun owners and ammo reloaders trade all the time. (They just keep coming at it from 20 different directions. You are not paranoid when in fact they are out to get you.... and they are. --Del)

How Section 8 became a ‘racial slur.’ By Emily Badger
Excerpt: Coded language, by definition, conveys much saying very little. And so those words allegedly uttered in McKinney, Tex., before a confrontation between police and black teens — “Go back to your Section 8 home” — evoked a particular and vivid set of assumptions.
The words were offensive because of what we think they meant in the charged context earlier this month in which police were called on black teens using a private community pool in a mostly white neighborhood. The teen who recounted what happened described those words as a "racial slur." We can imagine they meant that these children came from poor families, that the government helped their mothers pay the rent, that their quality as people was reflected in the quality of their housing. (Well, the only person I knew personally who lived in Section 8 housing (and was on every government benefit known to man) had a child who was a non-marital birth, used heroin, stole, lied, hooked, etc. was a blue-eyed, blonde white woman. ~Bob)

She identifies as black
Excerpt: The woman who resigned as head of a NAACP chapter after her parents said she is white said Tuesday that she started identifying as black around age 5, when she drew self-portraits with a brown crayon, and "takes exception" to the contention that she tried to deceive people. (...) Asked by Matt Lauer if she is an "an African-American woman," Dolezal said: "I identify as black." Dolezal's career as a civil rights activist in the Pacific Northwest crumbled in the past few days. (I think she deserves to have her career implode, but not because of her race. She can "identify" all she wants, just as others have the right to identify her differently based on her known history and the evidence of their own eyes. I can "identify" as Tom Brady in my mind, but if I act on it, I’d quickly find myself exposed as a fraud. [This is strikingly similar to the case against Stolen Valor as fraud to obtain personal and/or financial advantage.] The NAACP had a very large minority, perhaps as high as 25%, of members who were white in the crucial 1960s and early 1970s. Indeed, had she been fired because of her race, she’d have had an open and shut case of racial discrimination against her employer [Wouldn’t THAT have been fun to watch?]. Instead, of course, she "resigned." Even if it was forced, she’ll still have no recourse because she could be terminated for giving false information to her employer. Part of the problem is that if she’d told the truth, it is unlikely she’d ever have been promoted to the job she resigned from. That, friends, is discrimination. In this case, it was "the content of her character" that did her in. Or, as was said in a bygone age, she was hoist on her own petard. Now, if only the Indians would kick out a certain US Senator.... I wonder if I can identify as a lesbian? Ron P.)

Rachel Dolezal Sued Historically Black University For Racial Discrimination In 2002. By Chuck Ross
Excerpt: Rachel Dolezal, the white Spokane, Wash. civil rights leader who pretended for years to be black, once sued Howard University, a historically black college, for racial discrimination.
Dolezal, who on Monday resigned as president of the Spokane NAACP, graduated from Howard with a master’s degree in fine arts in 2002. She filed suit the same year alleging that the school and Alfred Smith, her professor and chairman of the school’s art department, discriminated against her because of her race.

Larry Elder: Conservative Blacks Long Accused Of 'Trying to be White,' Ignored by Ebony Magazine
Excerpt: As proof, Elder refers to an open letter he wrote to Ebony magazine in 2013. Each year, he notes, Ebony publishes a list of the 150 “Most Influential Blacks in America” — liberal blacks, that is. Continually overlooked are black conservatives like Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell and Clarence Thomas. "Each year, Ebony leaves out conservative, heavyweight black intellectuals like Walter Williams, a distinguished professor of economics and former department chairman at George Mason University. In addition to his 10 books on economics and race relations, Williams writes a popular weekly syndicated column carried in about 200 papers."

Obama Admin Making Billions In Obamacare Subsidy Payments Without Verifying Amounts. By Sarah Nurtubise
Excerpt: The Obama administration is making billions in payments to health insurers under Obamacare without calculating the exact amount companies are owed, according to a federal audit released Tuesday. Obamacare’s premium subsidies are paid each month directly to insurance companies, to ease the burden of health coverage to eligible customers in the health law’s government exchanges. The payments add up: the federal government doled out almost $2.8 billion to insurers in just the first four months of 2014, when Obamacare launched. The agency tasked with making the payments hasn’t yet made sure the calculations behind the billions are accurate.

Interesting Comments section: Not all in Hazleton, PA convinced that old town and new immigrants can co-exist
Excerpt: Between 2000 and 2010, Hazleton’s population grew by 2,011 people. Without that, Luzerne County’s total would have decreased during the same span. That growth was almost entirely Hispanic.

They call it immigration: Colonialism and Cultural Genocide
Excerpt: One thing we can say about Hazelton’s transformation, at least, is that it was driven by economic and lifestyle factors such as jobs and better neighborhoods. Not so with Obama’s amnesty plan to use illegal aliens — or, if that term is offensive, let’s say, undocumented Democrats — as “seedlings” to further effect the “fundamental transformation” of America. Oh, you haven’t heard about this? Well, it’s not the kind of scheme laid out in official policy papers or analyzed in The New York Times. But the gist of it, talk-show host Sue Payne told us while reporting on a conversation she became privy to involving federal officials, is that “new Americans” (read: “foreigners”) would “navigate, not assimilate” as they “take over the host,” create a “country within a country” and start “pushing the citizens into the shadows” (click here for more). The moral of this story? No one is talking about “assimilation” except suckers, who, it seems, are natural-born every minute.

Adios, Amigos! By Daniel Greenfield.
Excerpt: As [Ann Coulter] points out, the vast majority of illegal aliens once legalized will begin collecting between $14,642 and $36,992 from the taxpayer. “We’re always told that we need to amnesty illegals to shore up Social Security. How, exactly, are people who make so little money that they don’t pay income taxes going to save Social Security?” she asks.

What happens when an entire country is infested with demons?
Excerpt: Can a country with deep Christian roots like Mexico find itself at the mercy of demons? Some in the Church fear so. And as a result, they called for a nation-wide exorcism of Mexico, carried out quietly last month in the cathedral of San Luis Potosí. High levels of violence, as well as drug cartels and abortion in the country, were the motivation behind the special rite of exorcism, known as “Exorcismo Magno.” Cardinal Juan Sandoval Íñiguez, the archbishop emeritus of Guadalajara, presided at the closed doors ceremony, the first ever in the history of Mexico. (When I was at Los Angeles City College, I thought about demons a lot. I wasn't the only one. One time my Spanish teacher told me that he'd been on the quad with another member of the faculty, and that guy pointed at someone on the quad and said to my teacher, "Does that look like the image and likeness of God to you?" They have these shops all over Los Angeles called 'botanicas'. They are chock-full of all the ingredients you need for magic spells. I could say more, but it would sound like I am making it up or mad. --Kate.)

121 Illegal Immigrants Released by ICE Became Murderers. By Jordan Candler
Excerpt: Regardless of how Democrat sympathizers see it, illegally crossing the U.S. border is a crime, but that’s not preventing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from letting unauthorized immigrants back onto the streets — including some who went on to become murderers. According to The Washington Times, “More than 100 immigrants whom the Obama administration released back into the community went on to be charged with subsequent killings, according to government data released Monday that raises more questions about whether immigration authorities are doing enough to detail illegal immigrants awaiting deportation.

Important: Clapper acknowledges omissions on Iran threat in report
Excerpt: A senior administration official acknowledged to Senate Republicans that its 2015 intelligence threat assessment failed to provide the full scope of Iran's state sponsored terrorism. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said in a letter to the Senate that the 2015 worldwide threat assessment could have been more specific about the Iranian threat to United States’ interests. ...“A specific reference to the terrorist threat from Iran and Hezbollah—which was not included in any of the drafts of the testimony—would have been appropriate for the 2015 assessment, but the lack of its inclusion is in no way a change in the IC’s assessment,” Clapper said in his June 3 letter.

Ex-Ambassador Michael Oren: Obama 'Deliberately' Abandoned Israel
Excerpt: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Barack Obama are both guilty of making mistakes in the way they've handled the relationship between the two countries, but the president is more to blame for deliberately damaging U.S.-Israel relations, said Michael Oren. In an opinion piece in The Wall Street Journal, the former Israeli ambassador makes the case that the president deliberately violated two key principles at the heart of the understanding between the two countries: "no daylight" and "no surprises."... Meanwhile Israel was also shocked when it heard that Obama offered to sponsor a U.N. Security Council investigation of the settlements, and to support Egyptian and Turkish efforts to force Israel to reveal its alleged nuclear capabilities.

The breeding ground for jihadis: Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, a once great British textile town has undergone a terrifying transformation
Excerpt : The change happened so quickly,’ says Jean today. ‘One day it seemed it was all whites, and then it was all Asians.’ Jean remembers when the first Asian family moved into Savile Town, on a road named South Street where she was brought up. Her father worked for the Yorkshire Electricity Board, her mother was a housewife and she was in her teens. ‘We peered at them and they peered back,’ she says now, as she serves a cup of tea in her sitting room. ‘We had never seen anything like them and they probably felt just the same about us. There was no prejudice, just curiosity.' Yet feelings between the two communities have changed dramatically for the worse in the years since.

In the process, Mansour praised al Qaeda as an integral part of the global jihad.

Excerpt: Somalis have made Somalia a very pleasant place to live. Between the Muslim militias shooting at each other and the amateur hyena psychiatry sessions, it’s perfect. That’s why most Somalis are getting the hell out of there and moving to other countries that they can remake into Somalia.

The Hyena Cure: WHO says 1 in 3 Somalis is Mentally Ill. By Daniel Greenfield
The World Health Organization estimates that 1 in 3 Somalis are mentally ill due to their country's constant violence and abuse of the Khat narcotic. Somali science however came up with a surefire cure for the crazies. Lock the patient up in a room with a hyena and wait for the ugly beast to see the demons causing the madness and drive them out.

VIDEO: Maine Mayor Under Fire for Telling Truth About Muslim Immigrants. By Daniel Greenfield (2012)
Excerpt: Every time America steps in to help Muslims, we come back with dead bodies and a wave of “refugees” that look a lot like invaders. Somali Muslims have been about the worst of the lot, particularly as they’ve been dumped in places with no experience handling large dysfunctional populations. Mayor McDonald of Lewiston, Maine is under fire once again for speaking the plain truth about the invasion.

Lewiston, Maine Recruiting Somalis as Cops
Excerpt: Lewiston, a city of 36,000 people that spent decades struggling through job losses from mill closings and a shrinking population, may seem an unlikely place for such a rebirth given that Maine is among the whitest U.S. states, Malone reports. But, according to U.S. Census data, 8.7 percent of Lewiston’s population identifies as black or African-American, a rate higher than any other city in the state and more than seven times the 1.2 percent state average. And the Somali population is exploding not just in Lewiston. It has spread to nearby Auburn and Portland.

  1. As to all the generals and admirals resigning simultaneously in protest of the looney PC environment, there's evidence and supportable opinion that has already happened.
