Lots of Interesting Political News and Opinion today

Lots today. We are taking a day trip Thursday, may not get a post done. Friday busy as well, will try to catch up over the weekend. ~Bob

General News and Comment

Important: ‘Fast track’ trade measure sought by Obama wins final approval in Senate
Excerpt: A key plank of President Obama’s trade agenda won final approval in the U.S. Senate on Wednesday, capping a dramatic few weeks that saw the legislation nearly collapse amid Democratic infighting. The Senate voted 60-38 for a bill giving Obama so-called “fast track” authority to negotiate trade deals. The bill, already approved by the House, now goes to Obama’s desk. (I'm a free-trader, and certainly see the need to counter China, but I hope they read the bill. the rumors of secret provisions are disturbing., ~Bob)

Worth Reading: Strategic Failure: A Book Discussion with Mark Moyar
Excerpt: In Strategic Failure, historian Mark Moyar examines the Obama administration’s defense and security policy decisions. Dr. Moyar, a former Senior Fellow at the Joint Special Operations University and consultant to the U.S. Special Operations Command and U.S. Central Command, argues that the administration’s policies have weakened America’s position in the world, undermined key allies, and contributed to the most uncertain world situation since the end of the Cold War. Strategic Failure offers a sobering analysis of President Obama’s approach to foreign policy and national security and describes what the next presidential administration should do to restore America’s international standing. (I figured there would be books sooner or later where authors would start taking apart the events of the Obama Administration, and here is the first. Dr. Moyar is an outstanding historian, considered to be some kind of radical because he actually can examine things from a logical base, which gets him labeled as a "conservative". His books on the Viet Nam war are critically important, and really disliked by all the "conventional" historians who are stuck on The Narrative (that's where we were the bad guys, and got defeated militarily by a bunch of barefoot guerillas with old weapons). His new book sounds like a really important one. --Del. Dr. Moyar is an Oxford and Harvard trained historian. I loved his other books, Triumph Forsaken and A Question of Command. ~Bob )

Bobby Jindal announces entry into 2016 presidential race. By David A. Fahrenthold and James Hohmann
Excerpt: Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a one-time rising star in the Republican Party now struggling to become one again, announced Wednesday that he is running for president in 2016. (Not to be left out, I've formed an exploratory committee. ~Bob)

Army Officer Delivers Deliciously Scathing Rant On Liberals, Political Correctness. By Christian Datoc
Excerpt: Like many Americans, Jordan Thompson is fed up with the ever-extending shadow of political correctness that’s currently smothering the nation. The U.S. Army officer and University of Alabama graduate posted a long rant to Facebook Tuesday evening — blasting the Confederate Flag debate, food stamps and everything in-between — and while Thompson undoubtedly posted the message in an emotional state, I think he’s really on to something:

Interesting: We Have Officially Reached Peak Leftism. by Kevin D. Williamson

Excerpt: If it seems to you that the Left has, collectively, lost its damned mind as the curtain rises on the last act of the Obama administration, you are not imagining things. Barack Obama has been extraordinarily successful in his desire to — what was that phrase? — fundamentally transform the country, but the metamorphosis is nonetheless a good deal less than his congregation wanted and expected. We may have gone from being up to our knees in welfare-statism to being up to our hips in it, and from having a bushel of banana-republic corruption and incompetence to having a bushel and a peck of it, but the United States of America remains, to the Left’s dismay, plainly recognizable as herself beneath the muck. Ergo, madness and rage. ... Lost Cause romanticism was very much in fashion for a moment, and not only among Confederate revanchists; Joan Baez, no redneck she, made a great deal of money with her recording of “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” in 1971. (I don't think so. peak leftism is when the state is all powerful, and a Stalin can murder 40M people or a Mao 60M to ensure they keep power. ~Bob)

1980 Election Results
Tweet of the Day, People Who Believe In The Southern Strategy Meme Are Just DUMB edition. Bless their hearts. By Moe Lane
Excerpt: The truly absurd bit about the Left’s beloved Southern Strategy nonsense is that the people who espouse it have precisely zero conception of the time scale necessary for it to work. We’re to believe that Richard Nixon created this elaborate racist scheme to win the South that took almost thirty years to cook off. Because between 1968 and 1996 the GOP ‘won’ the South three times: once during the disastrous McGovern campaign, once during the even more disastrous Mondale campaign, and finally during the slightly less disastrous Dukakis campaign*. During each of those times – and in the 1980 election, which is immortalized in the map above – the GOP cleaned up everywhere else, too. Meanwhile, the South continued to field significant numbers of Democratic Congressmen and Senators until well into GWB’s first term. State legislatures and Governors took even longer for the GOP to dominate. Translation? Nobody in the Democratic party who duckspeaks the Southern Strategy meme ever bothers to look at a map.

GOP Infighting Strikes Again. By Jim Harrington
Excerpt: Most of our readers know about the continuing fight between Republican leadership and Republican conservatives. The latest scuffle over the potential Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal and Trade Promotion Authority, the separate legislation giving Barack Obama more authority in the matter, has turned into a bloody intra-party battle in the GOP leaving scars that may not heal, and promising more conflict in the future.

Doubtful: Google Eavesdropping Tool Secretly Installed.' Your computer has been stealth configured'
Privacy campaigners and open source developers are up in arms over the secret installing of Google software which is capable of listening in on conversations held in front of a computer. First spotted by open source developers, the Chromium browser – the open source basis for Google’s Chrome – began remotely installing audio-snooping code that was capable of listening to users. It was designed to support Chrome’s new “OK, Google” hotword detection – which makes the computer respond when you talk to it – but was installed, and, some users have claimed, it is activated on computers without their permission. (They'd be bored to death with most conversations. ~Bob)

Subsidized competition: Some worry Bucks deal would eat up other venues. By M.D. Kittle
Excerpt: As the 11-day bacchanalia that is Summerfest takes over Milwaukee, an official for what could turn out to be downtown’s $1 billion-dollar development says Summerfest and the city’s other entertainment venues have nothing to fear from a proposed Milwaukee Bucks entertainment complex. Sources who have viewed updated plans for the taxpayer-subsidized Milwaukee Bucks arena and an adjacent entertainment block have said recent renderings show a 46,000-square-foot entertainment venue.

The Death of the Liberal. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: A recent poll found that 51 percent of Democrats supported criminalizing hate speech. It also found that the same number of self-described liberals supported its criminalization. Liberal self-identification has hit its highest mark in decades while the ranks of the moderates have declined. And while the idea that the liberal and the moderate are opposites may be a troubling one to those who still think of liberalism in classical terms, the modern liberal is really a leftist in denial. (Fine if I get to define what is hate speech. ~Bob)

The Impending Collision Of Obama’s Failures
Like two speeding trains heading toward the same collapsed bridge, the dangers and failures of Barack Obama’s foreign, economic, and social policies are heading rapidly toward implosion. Our vital security interests, our economic well-being, our religious liberties, and the very fabric of American family life are all at grave risk of becoming casualties of the extreme ideological agenda and simple incompetence of the current administration. First, with respect to foreign policy: Watching the spread of ISIS throughout the Middle East is like watching the growth of a cancer.

France summons US ambassador amid NSA spying revelations
Excerpt: France summoned the U.S. ambassador to the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday following revelations by WikiLeaks that the U.S. National Security Agency eavesdropped on the past three French presidents. In the wake of what French President Francois Hollande described as an "unacceptable" security breach, Jane Hartley was summoned to the French Foreign Ministry, according to French diplomats who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to be publicly named. The disclosures, which emerged late Tuesday in French daily newspaper Liberation and investigative website Mediapart, mean that France has joined Germany on the list of U.S. allies targeted by the National Security Agency.

Senators slam NHTSA on auto safety
Excerpt: Armed with an inspector general's report, U.S. senators this morning sharply criticized a federal agency tasked with ensuring the safety of motorists and passengers, with several suggesting its pleas for more money and personnel should be rejected until its internal operations show significant improvement. Members of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee blasted the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the wake of Monday's audit from Inspector General Calvin Scovel III, which found the agency provided too little guidance to automakers, seldom tried to verify information it received and allowed a convoluted, overworked system to let defects go unaddressed...."This isn't about resources, this is about blatant, incompetent management." speaks out on DOJ subpoenas for online commenter info, reveals wide net
New information released by reveals that the Department of Justice cast an even wider net than previously thought when it demanded the Libertarian news site provide information on its commenters. After slapping with a subpoena for IP and server information that would allow investigators to go after six readers, Reason says it was then ordered to stay quiet. The Department of Justice claimed several comments on the site crossed the free-speech line.

Database Hack at OPM Even Bigger Than Thought. By Dan Gilmore
Excerpt: The Office of Personnel Management has officially said only 4.2 million federal employees were affected by the database intrusion by China. But CNN is reporting that number is much, much higher, as the FBI Director told the Senate recently that an estimated 18 million Americans were affected. This number includes former and current government employees and even people who only applied for government work. Let’s be clear: The Obama administration’s lack of leadership contributed to this intrusion and its lack of leadership will make the situation worse. In a June 17 press conference, Obama spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters that Obama is standing behind OPM Director Katherine Archuleta, who just happened to be National Political Director for Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

China says economic losses from drug abuse hit $81 billion a year. By Sui-Lee Wee
Excerpt: China on Wednesday gave its first-ever assessment of the scourge of drug abuse, saying it caused annual economic losses of 500 billion yuan ($80.54 billion) and as many as 49,000 deaths last year. China has intensified a crackdown on drugs as the rise of a new urban class with greater disposable income has fueled a surge in the numbers of drug addicts.

Gun News

Excerpt: Chief Tango sends us a link to our feel good story this morning from Oklahoma City, where Jay Silvernail, a criminal defense attorney, had an altercation with a client, David Scott Smith while Smith was picking up some of Silvernail’s property. Smith had just left the prison system after two decades for an armed robbery beef and he was still serving some of his parole. I say “was” because when Smith attacked his lawyer, Silvernail shot him and Smith was DRT (dead right there), saving the taxpayers some money. He should have done it a lot sooner. Police say that it was self-defense.

Excerpt: The news out of the United Kingdom almost reads like a satire piece from The Onion. But as strange as it may sound to people around the world, and especially in the United States, the British police push to ban knives is no joke. The new “Save a Life – Surrender Your Knife” program is in full swing and police are telling us that they have joined forces with an already growing trend in the United Kingdom to ban “pointy” knives.(The FBI says more people are murdered with hands and feet than with rifles, assault or otherwise. Ban deadly body parts! ~Bob)

Scott Walker to sign legislation expanding gun rights in Wisconsin. By Jenna Johnson
Excerpt: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) plans to sign two new laws on Wednesday that expand the rights of gun owners by removing a 48-hour waiting period for those looking to purchase a firearm and allowing off-duty or retired police officers to carry concealed weapons at public schools.

In the South, Grace and Dignity After Charleston Church Shootings. By Jonah Goldberg
Excerpt: “Lots of folks expected us to do something strange and break out in a riot. Well, they just don’t know us,” the Rev. Norvel Goff told the packed, multiracial congregation of Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C., on Sunday. It was the first service since the horrific slaughter of nine innocent souls by a racist fanatic. Not being a Christian, I can only marvel at the dignity and courage of the victims' relatives who forgave the shooter. If I could ever manage such a thing, it would probably take me decades. It took them little more than a day. Less shocking, but almost as uplifting, was the conduct of the broader Charleston community, which has been unified and dignified, despite the expectations of some in the media — and the accused gunman, who had singled out Charleston because of its success at racial integration.

Hillary Called ‘Racist’ For Saying ‘All Lives Matter.’ By Derek Hunter
Excerpt: Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton found herself on the receiving end of a politically correct firestorm after speaking on race issues at a church in Florissant, Mo., near Ferguson. What caused the outcry? Three words: all lives matter.

Good: Federal government likely to bring hate-crime charges against Roof
Excerpt: The federal government is likely to bring hate-crime charges against the gunman accused of killing nine parishioners in a Charleston, S.C., church last week, a law enforcement official said Wednesday. Dylann Roof, the 21-year-old named by authorities as the suspect, has been charged with nine counts of murder and remains in a Charleston County detention center. But the Justice Department has also opened its own investigation and previously said it was exploring the shooting as a possible hate crime. (Every murder is a hate crime. I'm fine with this is does his federal time after SC hangs him. ~Bob)

Law Professor: Freddie Gray Autopsy Is ‘Very, Very Helpful To The Defense’
Excerpt: The autopsy conducted on Freddie Gray helps the case of the six Baltimore police officers charged in the 25-year-old’s death, a law professor tells The Daily Caller. John Banzhaf, a law professor at George Washington University, also says that the autopsy, a review of which was published Tuesday by The Baltimore Sun, indicates that Baltimore city state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby “downplayed” the medical examiner’s findings when she publicly announced charges against the officers on May 1. (Jury will know if they don't convict someone, preferably white, there will be more riots. ~Bob)

Jim Webb Stands Up For People Who Memorialize The Confederacy. By Alex Pappas
Excerpt: Former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb, a southern Democrat contemplating a run for president, encouraged people on Wednesday to understand the “complicated history of the Civil War” when calling for the removal of the Confederate flag across the country. “This is an emotional time and we all need to think through these issues with a care that recognizes the need for change but also respects the complicated history of the Civil War,” Webb wrote in a post on Facebook.

Want to celebrate Southern heritage? Fly these flags instead. By Alyssa Rosenberg
Excerpt: After years of inexplicable tolerance, the Confederate flag — or what’s come to be accepted as the Confederate flag — is having perhaps its worst week since April 1865. Politiciansincluding South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, have decried the flag, which still flies near the South Carolina capitol, even after the massacre at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Some of the country’s retailers have announced that they’ll stop carrying not simply the banner itself, but any merchandise that bears the insignia. A number of states are trying to stop issuing license plates with Confederate flag imagery.

Alabama Gov. Bentley removes Confederate flags from Capitol grounds
Excerpt: On the order of Gov. Robert Bentley, the Confederate battle flag which stands at the foot of the confederate memorial on the state Capitol grounds was taken down this morning.
Two workers came out of the Capitol building about 8:20 a.m. and with no fanfare quickly and quietly took the flag down. They declined to answer questions. Moments later Gov. Bentley emerged from the Capitol on his way to an appearance in Hackleburg. Asked if he had ordered the flag taken down, the governor said, "Yes I did."

BLACK DUDE: Says, ‘Black People Are Starting to P*ss Me the F*ck Off…Try Bettering Yourselves’ (NSFW)
Excerpt: This guy holds back no punches on what he sees as the real problem in black communities – and he doesn’t think it’s white cops

A great plan: liberals refusing to breed so they don’t biologically spread white privilege
Excerpt: I saw an interesting headline at Weasel Zippers today. It dealt with a writer at Huffpo who has been on an interesting journey. Ali Michael went through a traumatic period in her youth where, as a white woman, she wanted to avoid the possibility of giving birth to white children who might biologically spread the contagion of white privilege. Her inspiration, of course, was Rachel Dolezal.

Government and Politics Won't Solve Our Racial Problem. By Star Parker
Excerpt: Here’s the problem. No one, particularly with all the information we now have about the deranged young man who admitted to committing this crime, can question his racial motivations. He was a sick, pathological racist. But Clinton, in her zeal to make political capital from this tragedy, conflated and confused very different things — racial bigotry and institutionalized racism — and as a result, at a difficult and sensitive moment, threw out heat when we needed light. Institutionalized racism is racism that a society officially endorses. It is present when there is a legal framework that supports it. Institutionalized racism existed in the United States prior to the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Social realities and laws that permitted racial discrimination of various kinds were made illegal by those acts.

Worth Reading: You're What You Say You Are. By Walter E. Williams
Excerpt: Rachel A. Dolezal, the recently resigned president of the Spokane, Washington, office of the NAACP, has come under a bit of controversy. Both of her parents are white, but for eight years, Dolezal claimed that she was black. In addition to her role as president of an NAACP chapter, Dolezal was an instructor of Africana studies at Eastern Washington University.
Some critics claim that Rachel Dolezal’s actions were motivated by greed and narcissism. By becoming a black person, she could more easily become an NAACP leader, chair a police watchdog committee and get a teaching appointment. Dolezal is not the only white woman who has benefited from racial fakery. Sen. Elizabeth Warren claimed that she was of Cherokee Indian ancestry. That helped her land a job at diversity-hungry Harvard University as a professor of law. Not only was her great-grandfather not a Cherokee as she claimed but also he was a white man who boasted of shooting a Cherokee Indian.

Autopsy: Freddie Gray Likely Got To His Own Feet Before Suffering Head Injury In Baltimore Police Van
Excerpt: Freddie Gray’s autopsy shows that he likely suffered a single “high-energy” injury after standing up on his own in the back of a Baltimore police transport van. Though that injury met the medical and legal definition of an accident, the 25-year-old’s death was ruled a homicide, The Baltimore Sun reports. The autopsy, which was completed on April 30, also showed that Gray had opiates and cannabinoid in his system when he was admitted to the hospital.

Piers Morgan: White People Who Use N-Word Should Be Jailed
Excerpt: Like most leftists, Morgan doesn’t want people jailed for hurling a racial slur, what he really wants is people jailed for defying the Left. Liberals use the word “nigger” all the time.... Leftists are about control, not ending racism.

Hey Liberals: Your "Economically Friendly" Cars Are Actually Causing More Pollution. By Brooke Carlucci
Excerpt: So often the left entices their party with "Eco-friendly," science savvy, earth loving phenomenons. However, the National Bureau of Economic Research just found that on a per-mile basis electric cars are on average worse for the environment when compared to their gas-powered friends. This new study proves that subsidizing these environmental "friendly" cars should be put to a halt.

Taxpayers slapped with $866,615 jet fuel bill for Obama's Earth Day speech
Excerpt: President Obama's decision to take his Earth Day speech attacking climate change "deniers" to Florida, home of two GOP presidential candidates, cost taxpayers $866,615.40 just for the flight of Air Force One. Taxpayer watchdog Judicial Watch revealed Wednesday that the Air Force provided documents showing the flight expenses of flying the jumbo jet 4.2 hours to Miami. Other costs, such as security, communications and staff were not provided, but would put the speech price at way over $1 million. (Just as in the former USSR, the Communist Party folk not subject to the demands they placed on the peasants under their heels, who stood in long bread lines. --Barb)

EPA Chief: ‘Climate Deniers’ Aren’t Normal Human Beings. By Michal Bastasch
Excerpt: EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy told an audience Tuesday gathered at a White House conference “normal people,” not “climate deniers” will win the debate on global warming. McCarthy’s remarks came as she was talking about the reasons why the EPA put out a report on the negative health impacts global warming will have on public health. She said the agency puts out such reports to educate the public, not answer critiques from global warming skeptics. (The only normal people are ones you don't know well." ~Bob)

The Warmists Promised Hurricanes: Parched Caribbean faces widespread drought, water shortages
Excerpt: The worst drought in five years is creeping across the Caribbean, prompting officials around the region to brace for a bone dry summer. From Puerto Rico to Cuba to the eastern Caribbean island of St. Lucia, crops are withering, reservoirs are drying up and cattle are dying while forecasters worry that the situation could only grow worse in the coming months. Thanks to El Nino, a warming of the tropical Pacific that affects global weather, and a quieter-than-normal hurricane season that began in June, forecasters expect a shorter wet season.

Calif. Gov. Brown asks EPA to impose harsher regulations on other states
Excerpt: California Gov. Jerry Brown is joining the heads of four other states in asking the EPA to tighten U.S. smog standards — a regulation that could be the costliest in history. A bold move given that California would be exempt from stricter smog regulations. In their letter to EPA chief Gina McCarthy, the Democratic governors called the EPA’s current smog, or ozone, standard “inadequate” and that “the health and environmental benefits associated with cleaner air continue to outweigh the costs of achieving those standards.”

Crap. death to America: AP Exclusive: Iran would get nuclear help in proposed deal. By George Jahn
Excerpt: Western powers are offering Tehran high-tech reactors under a proposed nuclear agreement, a confidential document says, but a defiant speech by Iran's supreme leader less than a week before a negotiating deadline casts doubt on whether he's willing to make the necessary concessions to seal a deal. The talks, which resumed Wednesday in Vienna on restraining any Iranian efforts to make atomic arms, appeared to be behind schedule judging by the draft document obtained by The Associated Press. The draft, one of several technical appendices meant to accompany the main body of any deal, has bracketed text in dozens of places where disagreements remain. (We are going to lose NYC. ~Bob)

The U.S. Supreme Court, Speech Regulation, and Islam. By Johanna Markind
Excerpt: Last week, the United States Supreme Court decided two cases – Walker v. Texas Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans and Reed v. Town of Gilbert – dealing with free speech, which have the potential to impact the right to discuss Islam. The Walker decision concerned Texas' refusal to issue a specialty license plate featuring the Confederate battle flag. State law allows non-profit organizations to request a special design, and allows the state to reject the request for several reasons, including that "the design might be offensive to any member of the public." Justice Breyer's majority opinion held that the specialty plates issued by Texas should be considered speech of Texas, and that as government speech, its decision to say or refrain from saying something (in this case, to issue a Confederate battle-flag plate) was not covered by the First Amendment. Justice Alito's dissent concluded that Texas' action in rejecting the license plate constituted improper viewpoint discrimination. He warned, "The Court's decision passes off private speech as government speech and, in doing so, establishes a precedent that threatens private speech that government finds displeasing."

Excerpt: Over the past two days, Kurdish forces and other rebel factions have seized a town and a military base from the Islamic State in its home province of Raqqa. As they have advanced on the seat of the so-called “caliphate,” the anti-Islamic State forces have been backed by US airstrikes. In a statement released on its web site, the YPG (or People’s Defense Units) announced that the town of Ain Issa has been “liberated” from the Islamic State. Ain Issa is just 50 kilometers, or roughly 30 miles, north of Raqqa. (To hell with what Turkey thinks. ~Bob)

President Obama Hosts a Ramadan Dinner at the White House and Lectures America About Muslims. By Jennifer Van Laar
Excerpt: Monday night, President Obama hosted an Iftar dinner at the White House, commemorating the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Iftar is the nightly breaking of the fast during Ramadan, in which Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. One of the guests recognized at this year’s dinner was Samantha Elauf, who won a Supreme Court case after she was denied a job at Abercrombie Kids because of her wearing of the hijab.

Obama Hosts Israel-Haters At Iftar Dinner ‘President’s Table’
Excerpt: President Barack Obama hosted two radical anti-Israel activists, Riham Osman and Batoul Abuharb of Houston, Texas, on Tuesday night. They both had the honor of sitting at Mr. Obama’s exclusive “President’s Table” at the annual White House Iftar dinner. Both have publicly stated that they consider Israel and its leadership to be sponsors of terroristic acts.

They'll be on E-bay next week! If the Islamic State’s Global Ambitions Weren’t Clear Yet, Check Out What’s on the Back of Its New Gold Coin. By Sharona Schwartz
Excerpt: Photos have emerged of gold coins allegedly minted by the Islamic State group in Syria, presumably to be put into circulation one day as the currency of its intended modern-day caliphate. The currency, called the “Islamic dinar,” includes images revealing the global ambitions of the jihadist group: One coin shows a map of the world. Another is decorated with seven wheat stalks, a reference to the Koran.

Al-Jazeera Disclosures Deserve a Closer Look…By the Feds
Excerpt: Al Jazeera's run of bad publicity got a little worse this week, when the online Arabic newspaper New Khalij published an article citing part of a cable from the Saudi Embassy saying the network answers to the Qatar government and is stocked with reporters who are part of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Investigation Exposes AMP Leaders' Ties to Former U.S-Based Hamas-Support Network
Excerpt: Federal investigators shut down a massive Hamas-support network in the United States between 2001 and 2008, prosecuting some elements and freezing the assets of others.
But the Investigative Project on Terrorism finds that many of the same functions – fundraising, propaganda and lobbying – endure, now carried out by a group called American. The IPT investigation identified at least five AMP officials and speakers who worked in the previous, defunct network called the "Palestine Committee." It was created by the Muslim Brotherhood to advance Hamas' agenda politically and financially in the United States.

Hajj Amin Husseini's Anti-Semitic Legacy. By Boris Havel
Excerpt: The Jerusalem mufti, Muhammad Hajj Amin Husseini, leader of the Palestinian Arabs from the early 1920s to the late 1940s, is widely known for his close collaboration with the Nazis during World War II. Aspects of the collaboration remain to be more thoroughly scrutinized.[1] However, and without discounting his culpability for the collapse and dispersal of Palestinian Arab society (or al-Nakba, the catastrophe, as it is called by Palestinians and Arabs), Hajj Amin's role in shaping Muslim perceptions of Jews might be a far more important and lasting legacy than his political activism in Palestine, Germany, or elsewhere.[2] An important source supporting this fact is a booklet he authored for Muslim soldiers enlisted in the Nazi SS division in Bosnia.

Michael Oren Finally Reveals the Truth About Obama and Israel, and Leftist Jews Can’t Stand It. A rush of "court Jews" defend President Obama's dangerous policies.
Excerpt: Further, Oren has hit the Obama administration hard over the past week with three different columns detailing how dangerous the Obama administration actually is for Israel. Oren’s “How Obama Abandoned Israel” appeared in the Wall Street Journal, his “Why Obama is wrong about Iran being ‘rational’ on nukes” appeared in the Los Angeles Times, and — perhaps the most devastating of the three — his “How Obama Opened His Heart to the Muslim World. And Got it Stomped On” appeared in Foreign Policy. In the FP column, Oren points to “the president’s naiveté as peacemaker, blinders to terrorism, and alienation of allies.” He concludes that the president is failing in his most important responsibility — keeping the country safe — by refusing to recognize the following: Those who kill in Islam’s name are not mere violent extremists but fanatics driven by a specific religion’s zeal.

Middle Eastern Christian Refugees in Europe Are Bullied, Threatened by Muslim Refugees. The non-voluntary Islamization of Europe continues.
Excerpt: A Pakistani Christian, who has fled to the Netherlandshas made a video of life in a refugee center and uploaded it to YouTube. ... It happens very often, he (ChristianUnion MP Joël Voordewind) says, that radical Muslims take over refugee centers and bully all those who hold different religious beliefs. At the same time, however, they appeal to the Dutch government to get residence permits, saying they aren’t safe in their own countries because of… wait for it: radical Islamic violence. (Important because THESE are the "immigrants" the UN wants to disperse over 30,000 of throughout unsuspecting states in the U and IT HAS BEGUN. Christians mainly denied access, which amounts to UN- and American-sanctioned religious persecution. But fuss about a flag or a football player. Much more important. Sheeple, subject to the ever-shifting chain jerks of the walnut shuffle. --Barb)

Clinton aide worked on UAE project while at State Department
Excerpt: Hillary Clinton’s top aide Cheryl Mills held several outside roles, including a board position with a UAE-funded university in Abu Dhabi, while working as chief of staff and counselor at the State Department, the Washington Free Beacon has learned. After joining the State Department in the beginning of 2009, Mills continued to serve as general counsel for New York University for several months. ...The school is bankrolled by the Abu Dhabi government and has been criticized by NYU professors and human rights activists for alleged labor abuses.

EU states at odds on eve of summit on migration crisis. By Alastair Macdonald And Shadia Nasralla
Excerpt: Austria threatened to reimpose controls on its Hungarian border and Britain considered adding security around the French port of Calais on Wednesday as divided EU leaders prepared to debate how to stem a flood of desperate migrants. On the eve of a Brussels summit looking for ways to spread the load of receiving hundreds of thousands fleeing poverty and war in Africa and the Middle East, the frontier rows across the 28-nation bloc were a reminder that the stakes are high. "Migration ... is a transformative challenge," one senior EU diplomat said, noting the strain it was putting on unity among neighbors where years of economic drift have bolstered anti-immigration parties, even as turmoil to the south has driven growing numbers to risk perilous crossings of the Mediterranean.

Excerpt: A mother of 11 who left Islam for Christianity was poisoned to death last week in a village in eastern Uganda, area sources said. Namumbeiza Swabura, mother of a 5-month-old baby, died on Wednesday (June 17) in Nabuli village, Kibuku District, after her sister-in-law visited her and offered to prepare a light meal of cooked plantain called matoke for her, area sources said. Swabura and her husband, former sheikh (Islamic teacher) Mugoya Muhammad, put their faith in Christ in August 2014.

30 killed at crowded mosque by 2 young female suicide bombers in northeast Nigeria
Excerpt: Two girls blew themselves up on Monday near a crowded mosque in northeast Nigeria's biggest city, killing about 30 people, witnesses said. It is the fourth suicide bombing this month in Maiduguri, which is the birthplace of the Boko Haram Islamic extremist group. Fishmonger Idi Idrisa said one teenager exploded as she approached the mosque crowded with people from the nearby Baga Road fish market, performing afternoon prayers during the holy month of Ramadan.
