After Edison made the practical invention of the light bulb (over a year of effort trying all kinds of experiments) in 1879 they were produced and used but had a fairly limited life. A brilliant Black man, Lewis Howard Latimer, worked with Edison and came up with an improved filament that extended the life greatly. Joe just made the flat out claim that the light bulb was not "invented by a White guy named Edison, but by a Black man". I don't know who the hell he has for advisors and staff, but either he needs better ones or they need to explain things better to him. This was basically playing to the Black crowd, and that just gets stupid after a while. --Del
