Health
Update
Today
I went to the VA Friday for blood work, a CT scan, and while there, my PCP
ordered me to the ER about the bump on my chest. They sent me to urgent care.
Dr. Keng, great fellow, said he thinks it is a lypoma, a fatty, non-cancerous
growth like a cyst. He sent a consult to general surgery and said they would
contact me in 5 business day to come it, look at it and likely schedule surgery
to take it out. I do not know if his will mean a hospital admission.
After
the blood work, they lowered my Tac pills from 2mg to 1.5mg.
However,
the transplant pulmonologist called me about the CT scan. Apparently, the
reason I have coughed up blood for many months is that a fungus (I keep saying
virus) has established nodes in my native (old) lung. They are mulling what to
do. They may increase my anti-viral medication. One possibility is my surgeon
may go in and remove part or all of my old lung. He said some times that works
out fine, sometimes it’s disastrous. They will call me next week.
My
numbers have been good. Weight under 160, blood sugar 98 without meds.
So,
we shall see. If I go suddenly dark, it may be temporary. If not, thanks for
reading and your friendship. ~Bob
