Did the Lockdown Model Cause Half the Coronavirus Deaths in New Jersey?
Good intentions or just criminal idiocy by governors? This is a really serious question. The commands of some governors that nursing homes had to accept virus patients clearly resulted in a great spread of infections and subsequent deaths. This was totally avoidable, and in fact was avoided in most other states. The near panic to open up hospital beds for the anticipated huge wave of newly infected people resulted in disaster. The concern about overloading hospitals was understandable, but reacting to an event that had not even begun to occur in a way that absolutely was going to bring major risk to nursing home residents was something worse than minor misjudgment. Will people understand and remember this? --Del
