Death of Freedom

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has now banned all gatherings. I have a BA degree in government, served five terms in the Massachusetts senate, and have followed politics closely since. This is the first I knew that a governor had the power to override the first amendment. Can he abrogate other rights if he deems it an emergency? Free Speech? Religious Freedom? The free press? Does this mean my wife and I have to sleep in separate rooms? Does...wait, someone is pounding on the door...
