Writes In Salon...It's Time To Stop Lying About Donald Trump's Remarks About
Mexicans
Excerpt: You might well dislike Trump’s words. I did. But
let’s not make it worse. He did not say that all Mexicans are rapists. Yet
that’s what many commentators did. For example, Politico misquoted Trump by
omitting his phrase about “good people.” They said he was “demonizing Mexicans
as rapists.” They argued that Mexicans do not really commit more rapes in the U.S. than
whites. But that’s not what Trump claimed. (This writer didn't want Trump to be
the candidate; neither did I. But truth is truth, and slime attacks are
slime attacks, and it's important to point out the slime attacks, in fact it's
important to shout about them. Otherwise the media and the leftists will
do the Goebbels thing where you scream it loud enough, long enough, and it
becomes the truth. The truth is that while the bulk of illegals are just poor
people trying to get to a better place, the fraction of them that are criminals
and troublemakers is significant, well past the average levels in the native
population. Denying that is part of the PC insanity. When even a
committed liberal writes about it, that is great. Not everyone on the
Left is an idiot ideologue, and we need to keep that in mind sometimes.
(Although the idiots seem to have more power and get more press.) --Del )
