Sunday's Interesting News

Just a few weeks ago even suggesting moving Obamacare deadlines was "arson" and "terrorism." Now it's White House policy.

HealthCare.gov contractor had high confidence but low success
Excerpt: For six weeks, the federal officials overseeing the project had become increasingly worried that CGI was missing deadlines, understaffing the work and overstating its progress. As the meeting began, one of the officials reminded the CGI employees that HealthCare.govwas “the president’s number one priority,” assured them that the discussion would be a “blame-free zone,” and then bored in. (when the 'connected" rather than the competent get the business... ~Bob)

Tension and Flaws Before Health Website Crash
Excerpt: Knowing how long it would take to complete and test the software, the company’s officials and other vendors believed that it was impossible to open a fully functioning exchange on Oct. 1.Government officials, on the other hand, insisted that Oct. 1 was not negotiable.

Prepare For What’s Coming: “The Largest Financial Collapse This Planet Has Ever Seen”
Excerpt: But what’s critical to our future well-being is that we understand that the machinations and conjecture are not restricted solely to the health care debacle. They pervade every aspect of government on the federal, state and local level alike. We have been lied to on every front, as evidenced by revelations just yesterday that the Bureau of Labor and Statistics completely fabricated unemployment numbers in an effort to sway the 2012 election results.

New Obamacare Report: The Nightmare Has Just Begun
Excerpt: Conservatives don’t just oppose Obamacare as a matter of policy – we oppose it as a matter of principle. The federal government was not designed to function as a central planner for any segment of the U.S. economy, much less the whopping one-sixth of it driven by health care. That President Obama thinks it can and should is a demonstration of hubris that would undoubtedly make our Founding Fathers wonder if history has taught us anything at all.

Did Obama Order Official to Lie to Congress?
Excerpt: In what may be the fastest discovery of someone perjuring themselves before Congress, Henry Chao, the Deputy CIO of the Department of Health and Human Services, apparently lied to Congress a couple of days ago when he said that the Anonymous Shopper feature of the Obamacare site was pulled because it “failed so miserably that we could not conscionably let people use it.” Just a day after Chao’s testimony CNN uncovered emails proving that his version of events was not accurate, and in fact was completely different from what he described.

If you think Obama is the slightest bit deterred in his overall goal of single payer, you need some discernment training.

Daily Kos Diarist: My College Betrayed By Obamacare 'Marketing Slogans'
Excerpt: It looks as though the students at UPenn will be paying a lot more for their health insurance policies, thanks in large part to the fact that ObamaCare is forcing them to pay for coverage they do not need. Not only that, Convente is probably not buying the propaganda from ObamaCare supporters and the media that only junk plans are being cancelled. He describes the insurance UPenn already offered as "quite progressive":

There are more people deer hunting in Wisconsin today than people who have signed up for Obamacare nationwide.

Have you gotten your @BarackObama "fix" insurance UN-cancellation policy reinstatement letter yet? It's funny how #Obamacare is "settled law" when Republicans want to change it, but changeable by edict when @BarackObama feels like it.

ACA would be doing much better if GOP obstructionists in the House would just pass my full repeal of the Law of Supply and Demand.

Sen. Ted Cruz: Obamacare is Proving Even Worse than was Feared

A Devastating Poll on Obama -- and Obamacare. By Michael Barone
Excerpt: “The Affordable Care Act’s political position has deteriorated dramatically over the last week.” That, coming from longtime Obamacare cheerleader and Washington Post blogger Ezra Klein, was pretty strong language. And it was only Wednesday. That was the day after the release of a devastating Quinnipiac national poll. It showed Barack Obama’s approval rating at 39 percent, with his disapproval rating at 54 percent — sharply down from 45 percent approval and 49 percent disapproval on Oct. 1, the day the government shutdown began and healthcare.gov went into (limited) operation
The Scheme behind the Obamacare Fraud: Lies smooth the transition to a fundamental transformation of our health-care system. By Andrew C. McCarthy
Excerpt: The incontrovertible record — disclosures by the Obama administration in the Federal Register, representations by the Obama Justice Department in federal court — proves that Obama’s promises were systematically deceitful. The president’s audacity is bracing, and not just because he lies so casually while looking us in the eye.

Coffeecare
What if you had to buy coffee the way you have to buy health insurance. Pretty clear explanation. ~Bob

People finding themselves turned down by ACA marketplace

Joys of Single Payer: Hip and knee replacements face backlog: Concordia forced to slow down. By Larry Kusch
Excerpt: At a time when Manitobans still face long waits for orthopedic surgery, the province's largest hip and knee replacement program is having to slow down its surgical pace due to operating-room constraints.

Proposed Iran Accord Isn't Diplomacy — It's A Sucker's Deal. By Charles Krauthammer
Excerpt: A president desperate to change the subject and a secretary of state desperate to make a name for himself are reportedly on the verge of an "interim" nuclear agreement with Iran. France called it a "sucker's deal." France was being charitable. The only reason Iran has come to the table after a decade of contemptuous stonewalling is that economic sanctions have cut so deeply — Iran's currency has collapsed, inflation is rampant — that the regime fears a threat to its very survival. (The French are tougher than we are about negotiating with Iran? John Kerry is playing the role of Neville Chamberlain this time around. But most of us knew to expect nothing good of him in any position of power. --Del)

French, Iranian FMs: Iran Nuclear Deal Reached
Excerpt: A deal has been reached between six world powers and Iran that calls on Tehran to limit its nuclear activities in return for sanctions relief, the French and Iranian foreign ministers said early Sunday. (Watch for Obama to announce "Peace in our time." ~Bob)

Per NYT, Iran can continue enriching uranium and won't have to dismantle any centrifuges. So, Obama surrenders. Predictable but sickening. (At least the first place they nuke will be a blue city, NY or DC. Think this means Saudi nukes as well. ~Bob)

Saudi Arabia would not ‘sit idly by’ if West fails with Iran
Excerpt: Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the UK said on Friday that the kingdom would not “sit idly by” if world powers fail to halt Iran’s nuclear program, calling the Obama administration’s “rush” to embrace Tehran as “incomprehensible.”

Iran Is Playing Obama, Says Savvy Saudi Prince. By Jeffrey Goldberg
Excerpt: “There’s no confidence in the Obama administration doing the right thing with Iran,” he told me, with a directness that would make Benjamin Netanyahu blush. “We’re really concerned -- Israel, Saudi Arabia, the Middle East countries -- about this.” It is quite something for a Saudi royal to state baldly that his country is part of a tacit alliance with Israel, but Saudi leaders, like Israel’s leaders, are frantic with worry that an overeager Obama will accede to Iran’s desire to become a threshold state, one whose nuclear program is so advanced that it would only need several weeks to assemble a deliverable weapon.

If mullahs like their nukes, they will be able to keep their nukes, period. Except they really will.

I predict Iran deal will involve a transfer of technology from us to them to help them enrich for "electricity generation."

I remember an historic agreement to ease sanctions in exchange for halting a nuclear program, but leaving reactors in place #NorthKorea

I think Iran just won the Knockout Game

Tenn. lawyer demands to be called 'Captain Justice'
Excerpt: "The State has noticed in the past few years that it has become commonplace during trials for attorneys for defendants, and especially Mr. Justice, to refer to State's attorneys as 'the Government,' " she wrote in her motion. "The State believes that such a reference is used in a derogatory way and is meant to make the State's attorney seem oppressive and to inflame the jury." (So now they admit that people see The Government as oppressive. ~Bob)

Suspect charged with hate crime in possible 'knockout' assault in Brooklyn
Excerpt: Police said a suspect has been arrested and charged with a hate crime for assaulting a man on a Brooklyn street early Friday in an attack that may have been part of a so-called "knockout game." ... Police have said some of the attacks are being investigated as hate crimes; victims tend to be white or Jewish, and in New York City, the suspects have all been black. (The truth will out. Here it is in the MSM, and as a HATE crime! Better late than never. Thank you Colin Flaherty. --Don Hank)

The Strange Phenomenon Of Black Anti-Semitism. By Larry Elder
Old, but with "The Knockout Game" targeting Jews in NY, worth reviewing. ~Bob. Excerpt: Anti-Semitism in America, according to a survey commissioned by the Anti-Defamation League, stands at an all-time low. But alarmingly, the survey found blacks three to four times more likely than non-blacks to be anti-Semitic.

Good Column: Knockouts High and Low: Without self-restraint, we slip toward barbarism. By Mark Steyn
Excerpt: Speaking of appetite, have you played the “Knockout” game yet? Groups of black youths roam the streets looking for a solitary pedestrian, preferably white (hence the alternate name “polar-bearing”) but Asian or Hispanic will do. The trick is to knock him to the ground with a single punch. There’s a virtually limitless supply of targets: In New York, a 78-year-old woman was selected, and went down nice and easy, as near-octogenarian biddies tend to when sucker-punched.

Six ‘Knockout’ Attacks In New Haven, Connecticut
Excerpt: Hsieh, who is schooled in Taekwondo, said he did not have time to defend himself when he was walking in New Haven and three young men in hoodies approached him. … A 68 year-old woman was also reportedly struck from behind. The woman fell and hit her head on the pavement. (From “A Man For All Seasons”-- The maxim is "Qui tacet consentire": the maxim of the law is "Silence gives consent". If therefore you wish to construe what my silence betokened, you must construe that I consented, not that I denied. Ergo, Mr. Holder and his Department of Injustice consent to this activity in the “community.” --Barb)

Isn't interesting how the ppl who are against #schoolchoice bc they claim to want to educate ALL kids support schools where few are educated

Israeli field hospital in Philippines delivers 12 babies
Excerpt: At least 12 babies, most premature, have been delivered in Israel’s field hospital in the Philippines — including one named Israel. (How many hospitals have the far more numerous, oil-rich Muslim nations sent? ~Bob)

More-or-less. The word "bigot" now effectively means nothing more than "someone who holds a view different than mine."

By sheer coincidence, Blum is also the husband of Senator Diane Feinstein.

50-State Survey: The Cream Of The Crop And Bottom Of The Barrel
Excerpt: To determine how well states are managed, we examined their financial data, as well as the services they provide and their residents' standard of living. This year, North Dakota is the best-run state in the country for the second year in a row, while California is the worst-run for the third year in a row.

It Takes a Pirate to Raise a Child: Great children’s literature does more than the most cutting-edge program for “character education.” By Daniel B. Coupland
Excerpt: These men of letters also recognized the power of children’s literature to be much more than great stories. These tales of fantasy and adventure are an inheritance that provides concrete images of goodness and evil — often in vivid blacks and whites — to the still receptive minds of the young. Over time, these images become patterns, and the patterns become habits, and the habits become our way of looking at reality. Children need these sharp distinctions to navigate in a morally confusing world.

Excerpt: I’ve come up with an astonishingly optimistic strategic assessment regarding the long-term fortunes of the State of Israel. Given the acute Iranian threat to Israel, the perpetual Palestinian conundrum, the unstable regional situation, and Israel’s very many internal disputes and social ills – it’s easy to be an unrelenting pessimist.

(Just looking for a path to citizenship for a better life, I suppose. Thanks, Obama. ~Bob)

Worth Reading: Obama's Disdain for the Constitution means we are at Risk of Losing Our Republic
Excerpt: Since President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law, he has changed it five times. Most notably, he suspended the employer mandate last summer. This is widely known, but almost no one seems to have grasped its significance. The Constitution authorizes the President to propose and veto legislation. It does not authorize him to change existing laws. The changes Mr. Obama ordered in Obamacare, therefore, are unconstitutional. This means that he does not accept some of the limitations that the Constitution places on his actions. We cannot know at this point what limitations, if any, he does accept. (OK, this editorial comes from Forbes magazine, so of course it will be instantly dismissed as the work of terrified capitalists by everyone on the Far Left. However, it presents evidence of Mr. Obama's attitudes about the Constitution, and progresses logically into what this means for the nation. Hopefully everyone with an open mind will be able to read this and find it to be a rational examination of the reality before us, nothing like political propaganda. The situation is perilous for the nation, if Mr. Obama continues in his disregard of the limits the Constitution places on his powers. Hopefully he will not do so, but right now we have no reason to be sure of that. --Del)

Excerpt: After one of them called for the “forced resignations” of President Obama and congressional leaders in response to multiple grievances, including the alleged political purge of hundreds of senior military officers, two retired U.S. generals are creating a citizens’ commission to scrutinize Obama administration actions on national security and economic issues…. The current crop of leaders, he said, must face a “demand resignation” process, which he explained requires massive grassroots protests and social networking which he envisions can be undertaken through his organization. …That means voters must band together and vote for positive ‘America first’ leadership rather than self-serving greed and corruption within the two major political parties that have for decades and are now rapidly tearing the United States of America apart.”

11 teachers administering polio vaccine in Pakistani tribal area are abducted

Excerpt: When, in 2008, he promised to bring the troops home from Iraq, and kept them there for three more years, and they returned on Bush's original withdrawl schedule, that was just a minor miscalculation When he promised to close Guantanamo as soon as he was elected, and Guantanamo is still open five years later, it was because no American city would accept criminal terrorists within our borders. When Barack Hussein Obama said that, if you'd just give him a trillion dollars, he'd stimulate the economy and bring unemployment rates down to 6 percent he was sincere. When Obama promised a million "shovel-ready" jobs, he only meant they could buy the shovels. When he promised Obamacare would drive down Health care premiums by 25% he believed it would happen.

Excerpt: Some parents in Dupo, Ill. are not happy that a biography of President Barack Obama is required reading for fourth-graders. They say the book contains a host of controversial elements, not least of which is that it casts white Americans who disagree with Obama’s politics as racist….EAGNews notes that the Obama book is part of Scholastic’s “Reading Counts” program and an acceptable title under the Common Core State Standards Initiative, which attempts to standardize various K-12 curricula around the country.
