Some articles and graphics that may interest, inform or entertain you.

Had my 3-month evaluation at the VA on Tuesday, 8/4. Blood work, PFT, 6-minute walk, three meetings with Transplant Pharmacist, Transplant Coordinator and Transplant Pulmonologist. They are pleased with all the numbers. The doc said that I may just stay at this level, not show much improvement. I'm tired a lot and short of breath sometimes, especially after a coughing bout, but I'm alive and enjoying life, so much to be grateful for. Also checked on my new glasses to deal with the double vision and had to reorder, it had not gone in. ~Bob

Book Recommendation: there is no goat. By Jennifer Dunham
I would have missed this one, except it turned up on an email feed of free Kindle books I get. Dunham is a former Army Intel Officer with service in Iraq who volunteered for a civilian contract in Afghanistan. Though confined to base, her job was to interview local Afghan men to vet them for jobs with the coalition forces. Her insights into how they think, their ignorance and backwardness and the oppression of women in their society are excellent. She has bought into the party line, that the extremist have nothing to do with Islam, going so far as to suggest that Shari'a Law is an un-Islamic creation of the Taliban. But her accounts give the lie to this meme and are well worth reading. She favorably contrasts the Iraqis she met with the Afghans. Reading it, one thinks it is hopeless to advance such a society, the best we can hope for it to contain it so it does not threaten us.

Bill Clinton called Trump ahead of his 2016 launch
I'm sure Bill had the best interests of the Republican Party at heart in pushing Trump to run. ~Bob

The link below will take you to the site where the full discussion is, plus you could download the text of the Treaty there, but I've attached it for anyone who really wants to get into it.  It's a lot of pages, but that bit where they can sign up, get their 150 billion bucks back, and then drop out, laughing all the way, is there.  Why anyone would have let that part get in is a complete mystery, but it again tells us that Obama and Kerry wanted a deal no matter what.  And this is why the ayatollahs have made speech after speech to their people saying they have given up nothing. Trust them?  Really? --Del

  1. Good to hear the old warrior is doing fairly well. Don't listen to the doc's on your level of improvement. My doc told me eight years ago that I wouldn't live a year...and I'm still kicking.
