More "Bergdahl for Bombers" Swap News

If Obama was in charge of making trades for a baseball team, they'd lead the majors in strikeouts. Imagine if in 1944, FDR had exchanged five Nazi generals or maybe U-Boat Captains for one Army "Sergeant"--who was, at best, AWOL when captured. ~Bob

I'm convinced admin worked to free Bergdahl because he's gay. Watch the news...and remember you heard it here first. ---GS

Investigate Bergdahl, Yes, But The More Important Man, Too. By Andy Weddington
Excerpt: Think about it, we're in a global war and our enemy(s) proven our homeland is a battlefield - the 9/11 attack compelling and still they scheme and try. What battlefield commander who has captured five enemy generals swaps them for one noncommissioned officer who deserted his unit? (My comment above was written before Col. Weddington's column came in--Marines are trained to think of military options. ~Bob)

No Evidence of ‘Credible Threat’ to Bergdahl: Feinstein. By Kathleen Hunter
Excerpt: “I don’t think there was a credible threat,” U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein said in an interview yesterday for Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital with Al Hunt” airing this weekend. “I have no information that there was.”

Excerpt: It is well established now that Bowe Bergdahl, the Army sergeant for whom Barack Obama traded five top Taliban jihad commanders to get him out of captivity in Afghanistan, is a deserter. But there are also numerous indications that Bergdahl is something even worse: a traitor to the United States of America.

Freed Taliban Commander Tells Relative He'll Fight Americans Again. By Mushtaq Yusufzai
Excerpt: Pushawar, Pakistan - One of the five Taliban leaders freed from Guantanamo Bay in return for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's release has pledged to return to fight Americans in Afghanistan, according to a fellow militant and a relative. (Shame on NBC for publishing this obvious lie. Obama PROMISED they wouldn't return to the fight. Period. ~Bob)

Behind the Scenes of Bowe Bergdahl’s Release. By Aryn Baker
Excerpt: Asked whether the Taliban would be inspired by the exchange to kidnap others, a commander laughed. “Definitely."

‘Lone Survivor’ Marcus Luttrell’s Response When Asked If He Would’ve Wanted the U.S. Government to Trade Taliban Prisoners to Free Him. By Jason Howerton
Excerpt: CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Friday asked Luttrell about the Obama administration’s decision to release five Taliban Guantanamo Bay prisoners for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, and whether he would’ve wanted the U.S. government to respond the same way if he never escaped the Taliban. “Had the situation with you been different, would you have wanted an exchange of prisoners?” Cooper asked. Without hesitation, Luttrell responded, “No.” (He's a man with courage, which is beyond the understanding of the left. ~Bob)

‘We would all die for him’: 6 soldiers who served with Bergdahl seek answers
Excerpt: Six soldiers who served in the same platoon as Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in Afghanistan expressed anger, sadness and outrage over what they said unequivocally was Bergdahl’s willful desertion five years ago, with one telling Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, “we would all die for him and he left.” When asked by Kelly on “The Kelly File” if they thought Bergdahl had deserted their platoon, all six men raised their hands. They also all agreed Bergdahl should be court-martialed and tried for desertion, saying this is not about politics.

Sister of Soldier Killed Searching for Bergdahl: Trade Was ‘a Slap in the Face’
Excerpt: The story of Bowe Bergdahl is also the story of six soldiers killed seeking a man who may have intentionally walked into the arms of the Taliban. Krisa Murphrey, whose brother, Staff Sergeant Michael Murphrey, was killed on a mission reports have linked to the Bergdahl search, tells Breitbart News the swap was "ridiculous."

Bowe Bergdahl: Afghan media wary of deal
Excerpt: "America has released five dangerous terrorists from Guantanamo in exchange for the release of one of its soldiers," write the editors of Arman-e Melli. "The release of five senior and dangerous terrorists of the Taliban group was unpleasant and disturbing news for the Afghan people." The editors of Hast-e Sobh expressed surprise that, after 13 years in Afghanistan, the US no longer considers the Taliban to be "terrorists". "When the Taliban see that America is holding direct talks with them, opening an office for them and striking a deal with them, such an approach by America sends a message to the Taliban that there is no need for holding talks with Kabul," they write.

The Bergdahl Bounce
Excerpt: An Army officer serving overseas writes to report: Today we received an e-mail from our “Threat Integration/Criminal Intelligence Branch” (e-mail subject line: “Kidnapping for Prisoner Exchange”) which states that the risk to U.S. Soldiers of kidnapping in the wake of SGT Bergdhal’s prisoner exchange has increased. The message is issued as a result of “new operational hazards that pose a threat to [] personnel” with the following internal subject line: Subject: Terrorist groups call for kidnapping of westerners and in particular U.S. Military members, combined with the recent release of U.S. Army Sgt Bergdhal increase the threat of kidnappings of military personnel.

Excerpt: The courts concluded that Khairkhwa was a member of the Taliban's Supreme Shura council, an elite group of 10 leaders who reported directly to Mullah Omar. The Shura oversaw the Taliban's military and intelligence operations, as well as other activities.

Religion of Peace News

Shot twice, stuffed in a sack and dumped in a canal... but Pakistani girl, 18, SURVIVES botched 'honor killing' carried out by her own family for marrying the man she loved
Graphic Photos Alert. ~Bob. Excerpt: Saba Maqsood was attacked by her father, uncle, brother and aunt before she was tossed into the canal, said Ali Akbar, a spokesman for police in Hafizabad, Punjab province. It comes just a week-and-a-half after the broad daylight 'honour killing' of another woman in a city centre drew worldwide condemnation. (Muslims commit 91 percent of honor killings worldwide. A manual of Islamic law certified as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy by Al-Azhar University, the most respected authority in Sunni Islam, says that “retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right.” However, “not subject to retaliation” is “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.” (‘Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2). In other words, someone who kills his child incurs no legal penalty under Islamic law. In this case, of course, the victim was the murderer’s wife, a victim to the culture of violence and intimidation that such laws help create. --Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch.)

'Hellfire' Muslim teachers at 'Trojan Horse' school warned six-year-olds about 'white prostitutes'
Excerpt: Pupils as young as six were taught to treat Western women as 'white prostitutes' by a school at the centre of the 'Trojan Horse' Islamist plot. The shocking disclosure comes ahead of two bombshell reports into claims Muslim radicals conspired to infiltrate governing bodies of Birmingham schools.

Recruit Depot Parris Island Sergeant Major Arrested. By Andy Weddington
Excerpt: Sergeant Major Paul T. Archie, U. S. Marine Corps, presently assigned as the Depot Sergeant Major at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, was arrested yesterday. For those unfamiliar with his assignment, he is the senior enlisted advisor (he, too, a drill instructor) to the commanding general. Sergeant Major Archie was charged with third-degree assault and battery. Theft should have also been charged. In short, a Marine (no longer in a duty status - in other words, a "civilian") identified as Ethan Arguello was, outside the confines of the depot, protesting President Obama's decision to swap Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl for five top Taliban commanders imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay. Part of Mr. Arguello's attire was the distinctive campaign cover worn by Marine Corps drill instructors (he once a drill instructor).

The Liberals' "War on Women": Shooting An Elk Is Worse Than Raping A Woman: In Boulder Shooting An Elk Gets You 6yrs, Rape-30, Days
Excerpt: According to The Daily Mail, a police officer in Boulder, Colorado faces up to six years in prison for shooting an elk in the community: ... A former Boulder Area Realtor Association board member convicted of raping his children’s 20-year-old babysitter was spared a potential life sentence Thursday and instead will spend 30 days in jail and 20 years on probation after the judge in his case voiced concerns about Colorado’s sentencing rules.

Colleges become the victims of progressivism. By George Will
Excerpt: Colleges and universities are being educated by Washington and are finding the experience excruciating. They are learning that when they say campus victimizations are ubiquitous (“micro-aggressions,” often not discernible to the untutored eye, are everywhere), and that when they make victimhood a coveted status that confers privileges, victims proliferate. And academia’s progressivism has rendered it intellectually defenseless now that progressivism’s achievement, the regulatory state, has decided it is academia’s turn to be broken to government’s saddle.

Excerpt: This week the Republican controlled House passed a bill that would have reformed the VA Health care system, allowed vets to go to doctors outside their system if their treatment was delayed, increased audits of hospital performance and give the VA Chief the power to fire anyone who has been found abusing our vets. The Democratically controlled Senate killed the House Bill immediately. Led by the only Socialist-Communist in the U.S. Congress, Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont, the Harry Reid Senate had one problem with the House's bill. Can anyone guess what that was? Yep....the Senate Democrats would simply not allow the VA unionized health care workers to be reprimanded for fired for abusing our vets. So, the VA worker in Phoenix who left that vet out on an outside patio for eight hours on a 120 degree day...and found him face down on the hot cement with 2nd degree burns will suffer no consequences. Nor will the security bully who ejected a vet so desperate for help he chained himself to a chair in the waiting room. And no discipline for those medical schedulers who kept secret waiting lists in order to secure bonuses for timely scheduling.

Big Labor's VA Choke Hold: How Democrats put their union allies before the well-being of veterans. By Kimberley Strassel
Excerpt: The Bush administration worked to keep federal union excesses in check; Obama administration officials have viewed contract "negotiations" as a way to reward union allies. Federal unions can't bargain for wages or benefits, but the White House has made it up to them. Manhattan Institute scholar Diana Furchtgott-Roth recently detailed Office of Personnel Management numbers obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by Rep. Phil Gingrey (R., Ga.). On May 25, Ms. Furchtgott-Roth reported on MarketWatch that the VA in 2012 paid 258 employees to be 100% "full-time," receiving full pay and benefits to do only union work. Seventeen had six-figure salaries, up to $132,000. According to the Office of Personnel Management, the VA paid for 988,000 hours of "official" time in fiscal 2011, a 23% increase from 2010. Moreover, as Sens. Rob Portman (R., Ohio) and Tom Coburn (R., Okla.) noted in a 2013 letter to Mr. Shinseki, the vast majority of these "official" timers were nurses, instrument technicians pharmacists, dental assistants and therapists, who were being paid to do union work even as the VA tried to fill hundreds of jobs and paid overtime to other staff.

Here's What They Didn't Tell You About the Jobs Report. By Mike Shedlock
Excerpt: The population rose by over 2 million, but the labor force was essentially flat. People dropping out of the work force accounts for nearly all of the declining unemployment rate.

Sharyl Attkisson on Journalism’s Very Dangerous Trend. By Rob Bluey
Excerpt: “There’s a tendency in the news media, on the part of some managers, to censor or block stories that don’t fall in line with the message they want sent to the viewers,” Attkisson said in an exclusive interview with The Daily Signal. “I think that’s really a very dangerous perspective to have.”

The Closing of the Collegiate Mind. By Ruth R. Wisse
Excerpt: There was a time when people looking for intellectual debate turned away from politics to the university. Political backrooms bred slogans and bagmen; universities fostered educated discussion. But when students in the 1960s began occupying university property like the thugs of regimes America was fighting abroad, the venues gradually reversed. Open debate is now protected only in the polity: In universities, muggers prevail. Assaults on intellectual and political freedom have been making headlines. Pressure from faculty egged on by Muslim groups induced Brandeis University last month not to grant Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the proponent of women's rights under Islam, an intended honorary degree at its convocation. (Another essay on the decline of basic courtesy and the rise of vicious fanaticism and intolerance of views that are in themselves not unjust, unkind, or invalid. They are just views that others decide they have the right to suppress, while remaining blissfully unconscious of how they have moved into the ranks of the Nazis, the KKK, the violent anarchists. These are sad events, triply sad in that they are taking place in what is supposed to be the safest area for people to have and express different ideas. And where is the outrage, where are the professors who teach the value of freedoms, where are the administrators whose responsibility it is to protect everyone in the school from the tyranny of bullies and threatened violence? These are indeed, trying times. --Del)

Excerpt: How reliable are the scientific findings on which the Environmental Protection Agency bases its proposed regulations? According to a new research report, many of the findings connected to the EPA’s attempt to regulate greenhouse gas emissions may be compromised by a short-circuiting of peer review. That question and that answer may seem far afield from NAS’s usual concerns, but there is an important connection. Or actually three important connections. Much of the science involved is university-based research. The problems surfaced by the new report reveal weakness in academic peer review. And NAS is engaged in an in-depth examination of the campus sustainability movement.

ObamaCare’s Rosa Parks
Excerpt: Maryanne is the perfect symbol of everything that is wrong, immoral and corrupt with ObamaCare. At the very heart of her courageous battle against the city of Detroit lies one simple question; Who “owns” the individual citizen? Under ObamaCare, absolutely every human action, or non-action, can and will be argued to have a direct cost to society, based on each action or non-action’s potential impact on healthcare costs. Because our federal government has now claimed financial responsibility for every American’s healthcare, they will also claim total dominion over all citizen’s actions and non-actions.

You’ll Never Guess What Obama Supporters Now Say is Racist
Excerpt: One of the natural consequences of the Left’s obsession with abusing the race card, attempting to silence any opposition or disagreement with their communist, totalitarian ideas, is that eventually the terms “racist” or “racism” become marginalized and meaningless. Nothing is racist and everything becomes racist, while real racism, like Democrat leader Harry Reid’s assertion that Obama was electable because he didn’t have a “negro dialect,” goes untouched.
A perfect example of this is a video produced by Mark Dice, showing Obama supporters agreeing that if Republican John Boehner doesn’t like Mexican food, he must be racist and should be removed from office.(Scroll down a little to see video on the left. --JB)

U.S. Armed Forces color guard to march in gay pride parade in D.C.; called a first nationwide
Excerpt: Shortly after Dykes on Bikes rumble across the starting line of the Capital Pride parade in Dupont Circle on Saturday, an expected 150,000 spectators should witness something never before seen on an American city street — a U.S. Armed Forces color guard marching alongside rainbow flags in a gay pride parade. (I have no problem with "Gay Pride" parades or any other free expression of political opinions. But it is a political event. Thus the military should be able to march in uniform in a Tea Party parade. ~Bob)

Sick society story of the day: Woman arrested on rape charges held on 50K bond

Excerpt: A 30-year old Sioux Falls woman has been charged with rape, sexual contact with a child, and sexual exploitation of a minor after her boyfriend discovered her naked in their apartment Wednesday night with at least three boys between age 7 and 10.
