How Do You Define Socialism?
Excerpt: When defined strictly from an economic perspective, socialism is a centrally-planned economy in which the government controls the means of production and distribution and seeks to make people economically and socially equal by taking from those who have more and giving to those who have less. This so-called redistribution of wealth—one of President Obama’s favorite concepts—is done without any consideration of the merits of those who benefit from it or the rights of those hurt by it.

Senator Obama calls Bush "unpatriotic" for adding trillions to debt

I believe in Tim Tebow
Excerpt: Every week, Tebow picks out someone who is suffering, or who is dying, or who is injured. He flies these people and their families to the Broncos game, rents them a car, puts them up in a nice hotel, buys them dinner (usually at a Dave & Buster's), gets them and their families pregame passes, visits with them just before kickoff (!), gets them 30-yard-line tickets down low, visits with them after the game (sometimes for an hour), has them walk him to his car, and sends them off with a basket of gifts. Home or road, win or lose, hero or goat.

Excerpt: Four years after it was trendy in Democratic circles to liken Barack Obama to Franklin D. Roosevelt, it is safe to conclude that no one in the Obama re-election campaign will be borrowing FDR's "Happy Days are Here Again" as the theme song for 2012. Judging by recent speeches by the president and the first lady, a much likelier choice is the 2009 tune by He is We, "A Mess it Grows." Or maybe Avril Lavigne's "I'm With You," with its line, "'Cause nothing's going right. And everything's a mess."

TSA official nailed on corruption charges
Excerpt: Minnetta Walker of Buffalo, New York, on Wednesday was convicted of conspiracy to defraud the United States and faces 2 years in federal prison to be followed by one year of supervised released, according to a report obtained by the National Association of Chiefs of Police.

White Gun: Another DOJ gun-walking operation surfaces
Excerpt: Months ago Sharyl Attkisson warned us that there were as many as ten gun-walking operations being run out of the Department of Justice in five states. It now seems that the same cast of suspects that perpetrated Operation Fast and Furious may have been concurrently running another gun-walking operation out of Phoenix, this one code-named White Gun.

Standard & Poor's downgrades several European nations
Excerpt: Standard & Poor's issued a slew of downgrades to European nations Friday due to "insufficient" action by policymakers to address the continent's debt crisis. Germany, seen as a stalwart of economic stability in the region, maintained its AAA rating. However, France and Austria both lost their top-notch ratings, being knocked down to AA+. (All of the credit rating agencies were collecting fat fees to give bundled toxic sub-prime mortgages top investment ratings for Fannie, Freddie and Wall Street, thus screwing not only investors, but all of us. I have zero faith they cannot be bought again. But I do think Europe is sliding towards the cliff...and we are chained to them. ~Bob.)

City manager: Half of Sacramento's deficit could be wiped out by pension reform
Excerpt: It's more clear than ever that the top brass at City Hall has its eyes set on employee pensions as a way to slow the cycle of persistent budget deficits. City Manager John Shirey told the City Council on Tuesday that roughly half of the city's budget deficit over the next two years could be eliminated if all city workers paid their employee share of their CalPERS retirement contributions. While top city management, the mayor and the City Council pay their employee shares, no rank and file workers pick up the entire tab of their retirement contributions. Instead, the city handles those payments - an arrangement that cost the city $16.8 million in 2010, according to a recent Bee analysis.

You Pee For Me, Marine by Bob Lonsberry
Excerpt: America is at war with militant Islam. In Afghanistan, the Taliban is militant Islam. In Afghanistan, the Taliban gave refuge and support to Al Qaeda as it prepared the attacks of September 11. In Afghanistan, the Taliban works around the clock to put American servicemen in their graves. The Taliban is the bad guys. And the United States Marines are the good guys. And this is much ado about nothing. (I'm just a dumb, former, old, infantryman. I've a question for you all. How many taliban did they kill with their piss? How many Marines will die because of the incentive effect it will give the bastards? What's tough or hard or deadly in using piss to attack dead bastards? If they want to put videos on the net showing how tough they are how about showing Marines shooting live bastards shooting back? What narrow slice of contempt or lesser regard does the public have for the Marine Corps due to this kind of stupid nonsense? As for me, I never wanted to fight w/Marines or to command Marines who could play tough abusing civilians, prisoners, or dead bodies. I was very happy, however, when the abused were their fathers and brothers and comrades and able or willing to harm us or our country. Hat's off for killing them; their officers should be cashiered and the idjit Marines should be court-martialed. My comments may get some criticism; it may be deserved. I'll listen, but I hope any criticism includes an account of the purpose and gain from this kind of juvenile crap. --Robert I Morgan, 2/26 (10/67-6/69)

Pissing on the Enemy
Excerpt: So by all means punish them. And while you’re at it, haul their commander in front of a JAG tribunal and find out what he knew, when he knew it, and why he didn’t lead his men as he’s supposed to. But our leaders’ tone is all wrong, and needless to say, the media feeding frenzy is typical of the breed. I’ve been telling friends for months now that the Marines are winning in Afghanistan. I always add, “it’s obvious, isn’t it? You don’t read much of anything about their activities, which obviously means they’re doing well.”

Get it straight

North Korea To Punish Mourners Who Were Insincere
Excerpt: You'd better watch out, you'd better cry. You'd better pout, I'm telling you why: North Korea's punishing insincere mourners, according to the Daily NK. An anonymous source tells the Daily NK, a South Korea-based publication in opposition of the North Korean regime, that "authorities are handing down at least six months in a labor-training camp to anybody who didn't participate in the organized gatherings" to mourn the death of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Il, and to those "who did." (We could send over some Marines to join the mourners, show their respect for Kim.... ~Bob.)

President Obama
The link was sent to me with the introduction, "From a Brother Marine." The link is to a page where you will find the most complete background evaluation on Barack Hussein Obama that I have come across. From A to Z. ACORN to Zeituni, as in his Aunt Zeituni is an illegal alien. Take the contents for what it's worth. A lot of facts and references but also a lot of opinion and speculation. Old as well as new. In any event, the election this November is likely to be the most important in the history of the United States of America and certainly the most important regarding our immediate future. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke) I cannot over emphasize the need to be informed, be involved, and share information and your opinions with others. --Mac

You know you live in Upside-down Land if . . .
Excerpt: A Muslim officer crying "Allah Akbar" while shooting up an army base is considered to have committed "Workplace Violence" while an American citizen boasting a Ron Paul bumper sticker is classified as a "Domestic Terrorist".

The Obamas' 17-Day Vacation to Hawaii Costs Taxpayers $4,135,038

Excerpt: President Barack Obama’s December wish list didn’t include what he hoped to get from Santa Claus. Instead, he listed big names whose endorsement he hopes to secure before Election Day in November. The star-studded list, dated December 5 and published on Wednesday by The Tennessean, contains past and current “surrogates” who Obama hopes will support him this year.

A New Entry for 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America
Excerpt: If I were updating the book now, in 2012, there’d be a lot of contenders for the list – almost everybody on MSNBC, for example – but no one would deserve to be there more than the new Democratic National Chair … Debbie Wasserman Shultz. She would make the list – maybe even topping it at number one – if for no other reason than she’s breathtakingly obnoxious.

The Secrets of Tebow Hatred
Excerpt: The NFL is generously stocked with forgiven felons, including millionaire wife beaters and dog killers. So how did a clean-living quarterback with deep commitments to charitable service and miraculous last-minute victories become the most controversial player in the league?

CNN contributor salutes Marines for urinating on dead Afghans
Excerpt: Her own insight seems to be a bit more harsh than the commentary that others are offering. "I'd drop trou and do it too," Loesch told listeners during the January 12 broadcast of The Dana Show. "I want a million cool points for these guys. Is that harsh to say? she asked. Loesch, who says she was a liberal until the September 11 terrorist attack, added that she had no problem with the act of desecration.

The Prez promotes his pet 'Razist' By Michelle Malkin
Excerpt: Gushing headlines heralded the pick of Obama’s top Hispanic civil-rights “advocate” as a win for the “middle class.” But Munoz is a veteran lobbyist whose former group is reaping a taxpayer-funded windfall as she climbs the government ladder.

Bloat-cutting Mitt ----The feds need his expertise
Excerpt: If you don’t think government is bloated, you simply haven’t been paying attention. Yes, regulations hurt the private sector, but they also hamper the public sector, making it impossible for it to do what it should. The government that built the Pentagon in 16 months would probably need at least that long just to get a meeting with the EPA today. Why did President Obama have to spend billions to discover that there’s no such thing as shovel-ready jobs? Not because there aren’t enough workers eager to pick up shovels and paychecks, but because there aren’t nearly enough bureaucrats willing to put down their clipboards.

Make The Military Leaner, But Also Make It Much Meaner
Excerpt: It is, needless to say, a false choice. By mid-decade the Pentagon's huge bloated budget will be less than the mere interest payments on U.S. debt, much of which goes to bankrolling the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Nevertheless, faced with reducing funding for China's military or our own, the latter will be the easier choice for Washington.

Marine Corps stuck in the 1970s
Excerpt: Ink by the barrel has been shed on the Haditha trials, the last of which is playing out this week at Camp Pendleton. The Marine Corps should stop prosecuting Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich, on trial now for illegal killing in Haditha; and also release Sgt. Lawrence Hutchins, convicted of premeditated murder arising from Hamdaniya. This is not necessarily because I think the two are innocent.

Utah law firms not flocking to hear AG Holder
The top legal officer in the United States will be in Salt Lake City on Friday to speak at a luncheon honoring Martin Luther King Jr., and the response from the legal community has been nonexistent. The luncheon at the Sheraton Hotel is sponsored by the Martin Luther King Human Rights Commission and is expected to attract a capacity crowd of about 750 to hear U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. (Worried about guilt by association. ~Bob.)

Debt Limit - A Guide To American Federal Debt Made Easy.
Good video. ~Bob.

The Teen Conservative
Excerpt: Our Patriot of the Week is The Teen Conservative! The Teen Conservative is a blog written by Daniel Wetter, a former supporter of President Obama. But it didn’t take long for The Teen Conservative to figure out that “The One” was a false prophet who failed to deliver hope and change to the nation.

White House sends GOP another batch of Solyndra documents
Excerpt: The White House on Friday sent more internal documents to Republicans investigating the $535 million loan guarantee to failed solar firm Solyndra, arguing that the cache of emails should satisfy GOP investigators. The emails show senior White House aides discussing the need to coordinate messaging with the Energy Department and others ahead of Solyndra layoffs that occurred in early November 2010.
