At Converse College, One Professor Asserts His Conscience against Political Correctness

At Converse College, One Professor Asserts His Conscience against Political Correctness
Remember that book by JFK? Or at least, what it was about? Men who faced with terrible choices that to make according to their conscience and morality that would have dire consequences on themselves.... and proceeded to make the moral choice, often at great cost in their lives. Here's today's example. What's mindblowing about this is that the college president not only made an official statement about the existence of "system racism" in the society and the college, but believed she could force people to take mandatory "anti-racist" training that would not just be some lectures or discussions, but would require participation in the sense that everyone would have to acknowledge their racism and fill out questions about the practics of racism, etc. Basically this is forcing people to accept whatever views the president and those teaching the course have as Truth and humbly acknowledging their own role in racism and vowing to do better. This reminds me of one of the great practices of communism, where everyone has to partake in self criticism sessions, where you confess your terrible failings and abase yourself but solemnly take the oath to do better. For this president to believe she has the right and power to do this is a testimony to an Everest level of righteousness and arrogance. The sad thing is that this college must have at least 200 professors teaching there, and I would have really thought a whole bunch of them would have stood up and said "NO!". But it was just one man. How sad is that? What does it say about the rest of the faculty? -Del
