Short but interesting political news post today

Facebook Stupidity
A friend and blog reader who is a retired USMC Mater Gunnery Sergeant reports he has been told by Facebook that his screen name "MasterGuns" (as such personnel are known for short) is unacceptable. Apparently some liberal, too stupid to know it was a rank, complained, and Facebook chose to denigrate his service.

Short Post Today
Sunday we went to church, then to the Madison St. Pat's parade (no protests to my surprise), then an early dinner with the family. Have Rehab in the AM, will be up at 6. So I was slammed for time, had to blast through my email deluge. Sorry if I missed or passed on something you sent. ~Bob

Nearly At ‘Full Employment’? 10 Reasons Why The Unemployment Numbers Are A Massive Lie
Excerpt: It is my contention that the official “unemployment rate” has become so politicized and so manipulated that it is essentially meaningless at this point. The following are 10 reasons why…#1 Since February 2008, the size of the U.S. population has grown by 16.8 million people, but the number of full-time jobs has actually decreased by 140,000.

Why Hillary should never, ever be President
Excerpt: If she is this contemptuous of the United States of America while not even a candidate, one can only take a deep breath and imagine the devastation she’d wreak as President. She has utter contempt for you, for the press and for the intelligence of the country. She should not ever be trusted with the Presidency.

How grievance culture undercuts the fight against rape culture. By Meghan Daum
Excerpt: But at the risk (the guarantee) of being branded a rape apologist or worse, I'm going to say what many reasonable people have been thinking for a while: Violent rape is not the same as psychologically coercive sex, which in turn is not the same as regrettable sex, which is not the same as fielding an unwanted touch or kiss at a party. None of these things are good; many of them are quite bad. But insofar as they do fall along a spectrum ranging from truly horrific to merely annoying, some demand legal or punitive action, and some simply do not. Some are crimes and some are the inevitable fallout of social obtuseness. Some desperately require more attention, and some — I'll just say it — are getting too much attention.

All in the Family: Valerie Jarrett and the Chicago Communists. By Thomas Lifson
Excerpt: Valerie Jarrett is the most powerful figure in the White House, rivaling President Obama in the scope of her influence over the fate of the Republic. Her personal Secret Service detail attests to the importance of her role in our government – in a position that is unelected and unconfirmed by the Senate. She has served as the godmother of Barack Obama’s political and personal life, from introducing him to his future wife Michelle Robinson to integrating him into Chicago’s political machine and power structure. Professor Paul Kengor provides fascinating details about her background, and that of other key members of Obama’s Chicago circle, in an interview with Jamie Glazov of Front Page Magazine. The entire interview should be read, but here are some key excerpts of information that ought to receive far wider public scrutiny.

President Obama fired off a series of jokes to the 130th annual Gridiron dinner Saturday night about Scott Walker, Joe Biden and pot — and some not-so-joking digs at Senate Republicans. It was Obama’s third appearance as president at the A-list D.C. event; President Grover Cleveland was the first to address the Gridiron Club after its founding in 1885, and every commander in chief since has attended the dinner. Guests dined on an extensive menu at the Renaissance hotel including roasted duck salad, beef tenderloin and jumbo shrimp, and rubbed elbows with the capital’s power brokers including 11 members of Obama’s cabinet, eight ambassadors, lawmakers and military elite. NY Post: Valerie Jarrett Leaked Hillary's Private Email Use To Press
Excerpt: Vengeful Obama confidante Valeria Jarrett went through back channels to leak Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server to the press, an explosive new report reveals. The New York Post‘s Edward Klein reports that a source familiar with Bill Clinton said that the former president told him: “The Obamas are out to get us any way they can.” Jarrett blamed the Democratic party’s 2014 midterm losses on the Clintons’ insinuations that Obama’s unpopular policies, including executive amnesty for foreigners gobbling up American jobs, made the president an “albatross” around the reigning party’s neck.

Gun News

Woman shoots man trying to break into her home
Excerpt: The preliminary police investigation revealed a 25-year-old man had broken a window and entered the home. A woman and her 2-year-old daughter were home at the time of the incident, and at some point, the female shot the suspect. The suspect was taken to an area hospital with possible life-threatening injuries. The woman and her daughter were not injured. The woman said she didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger, thanks to trips to the gun range with her husband. He is a James City County police officer, who was on duty last night when the man tried breaking in.

Man suspected of home invasion shot by homeowner
Excerpt: A 27-year-old man suspected of a home invasion Friday evening is in the hospital after the homeowner shot him. At 5:13 p.m., the Fayetteville Police Department was called to the 500 block of Mayview Street. Officers said the homeowner armed himself and shot the intruder as he entered the house, a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department said.

Suspect shot in home invasion
Excerpt: The homeowner told deputies he found a strange man inside his home. He also told deputies that the suspect's small caliber gun went off, hitting the suspect in the abdomen, while they were wrestling. That suspect, 18-year-old Sergio Corona, is now in the hospital. Sheriff Cass says they plan to arrest Corona for aggravated robbery upon release.

This officer was buying a present for his son’s upcoming birthday at a Game Stop, when two armed robbers came in who were so clueless they did not see his police car parked outside. They opened fire on him and he returned fire; they were shooting at him from two sides. He was hit multiple times before succumbing to a shot to his head, but had managed to draw their fire away from customers and store clerks. His partner outside also returned fire and chased down one of the robbers who tried to run away. The other one hid among the people hiding behind the counter. They turned him in to the back-up officers, of course. They rushed the injured officer to surgery, but he did not make it. So sad. Love, Bon

Ferguson Payback: ‘If There Was Any Justice … They’d Be Suppressing White People’
Excerpt: Noxubee County also was a majority black jurisdiction. There, black political bosses in fact did discriminate against white voters through a complicated scheme involving voter fraud and other illegal acts. I listened to audio tapes containing similar wry laughs of the perpetrators talking about the justifications for delivering payback to whites for the sins of their grandfathers.

"You're Greener than Gore" News

Will Obama force U.S. to submit to 'climate justice tribunal'?
Excerpt: While Washington focuses on whether President Obama will sign on to a nuclear agreement with Iran without submitting the deal for Senate approval, the administration is following a similar strategy on a global climate change policy that could leave the U.S. beholden to an International Climate Justice Tribunal. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, or UNFCCC, recently released the negotiating language for the agreement to the public. The official purpose of pursuing a “universal climate agreement” is to renew the Kyoto Protocol, the 1997 deal championed by then-Vice President Al Gore but resoundingly condemned by the U.S. Senate. President George W. Bush eventually cut all U.S. ties to Kyoto.

Climate change is a farce and the Obamas just proved it
Excerpt: In order to pin the cost of his frivolity on the US taxpayer Obama made a cameo appearance at a VA hospital in Phoenix that has been the subject of much attention. Together they spewed 6,773,500 pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere for completely unserious reasons. Let’s consider the excuses offered for this excess pollution.

Kerry: Deal with Iran Possible Within Days
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Saturday he hoped it would be possible to reach an interim deal with Iran "in the next days" if Tehran can show that its nuclear power program is for peaceful purposes only, according to Reuters. Speaking ahead of fresh talks with Iran in Lausanne, Switzerland, schedule to begin on Sunday, Kerry appeared more upbeat about the possibility of a framework agreement by a deadline at the end of the month. The deadline for a final agreement is June 30.

Bolton calls Iran deal 'unprecedented' surrender

Former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton said Saturday that President Obama is negotiating “an unprecedented act of surrender” with Iran in discussions over its nuclear weapons program. “This deal is fundamentally flawed,” Bolton said at the South Carolina National Security Action Summit in West Columbia, S.C. “There really is no deal I’d trust Iran with...."

As nuke talks intensify, WH celebrates Iranian holiday

The White House this week celebrated Nowruz, the Persian New Year most often observed by Iranians....First Lady Michelle Obama praised the holiday in remarks at the executive mansion Wednesday. “One of the things I love about the White House is how it truly is the people’s house." (Which "people"? Oh, the ones with Islam that is woven into the founding of the US. Those folks. Iran is welcome in the "people's house" along with the Muslim Brotherhood. Why are elected reps having a hard time deciphering the meaning? A coup d'├ętat is a fait accompli. From the inside out, folks. Congress, the Senate, the Constitution and the US population can go to Hell or shortly will be experiencing same. NOW you know why Regime did not lift a finger to support sprouts of democracy in Iran....Has anybody really investigated WHO these people are who spend American taxpayer dollars like CO2 they complain about while giving "folks" the finger? Unseal the records. --Barb)

C.I.A. Cash Ended Up in Coffers of Al Qaeda
Excerpt: The C.I.A.’s contribution to Qaeda’s bottom line, though, was no well-laid trap. It was just another in a long list of examples of how the United States, largely because of poor oversight and loose financial controls, has sometimes inadvertently financed the very militants it is fighting. While refusing to pay ransoms for Americans kidnapped by Al Qaeda, the Taliban or, more recently, the Islamic State, the United States has spent hundreds of billions of dollars over the last decade at war in Iraq and Afghanistan, some of which has been siphoned off to enemy fighters. (With the Regime's intentional overthrow of Libya, destabilization of multiple regimes in the Middle East (reversed in Egypt by the Egyptian people) to build the Caliphate, Regime fondness for Muslim Brotherhood, anyone really believe this lame excuse for "funding the enemy" from, of all sources, the Regime parrot, The New York Times? Or why there is "a rift" with Israel? --Barb)

Searching for Hamas Divers in Gaza: The Snapir Unit of the IDF Navy, charged with the task of defending Israel's ports, is considered one of the Navy's elite units. By Ami Rojkes Dombe
Excerpt: The Snapir Unit operates under the commander of the Navy's 916th Squadron. It was established in 2005 for the purpose of defending Israel's ports in Haifa, Ashdod and Eilat. For those not familiar with it, this unit is highly specialized. It is has a mixed personnel of male and female warfighters who operate together, back to back. The Unit's warfighters go through a year-long training program at the conclusion of which they have the option of taking an additional training course for Tzir'ah patrol boat commanders, despite the fact that they are not naval officers. This is an unusual case for the Navy and a "bonus" for the warfighters of the Snapir Unit, which has almost no officers, with the exception of the three unit commanders at the three ports.

US to keep more troops in Afghanistan than planned, officials say
Excerpt: The Obama administration is reversing its plans to cut the amount of U.S. troops in Afghanistan to 5,500 by the end of the year, appeasing military leaders who want to keep more troops into 2016, U.S. officials say. Officials have said the administration is poised to slow the withdrawal of forces and probably will allow most of the 9,800 American troops to remain in the embattled country, although no final decision on numbers has been made yet.

Excerpt: The Muslim Brotherhood is perhaps the greatest threat to the sovereignty of the Egyptian people, stressed el-Sisi. He added, “The Muslim Brotherhood is the parent organization of extreme ideology. They are the godfather of all terrorist organizations. ..." (And given security clearances to US by Obama's regime, welcomed to lunch at the White House, and part of the "humanitarian concerns" of Kerry and regime regarding Egypt. Yet US Congress watches with their pants down....does nothing. --Barb)

Senator Lankford: Obama 'Feels Like Terrorists Hate Us Because We Have Guantanamo'
Excerpt: Lankford found that the detention facility at Gitmo runs quite smoothly and “there were an amazing group of people there. All five branches of the military are involved.”... Lankford made clear that Obama has his priorities upside down, that he should be thinking about “national security first."

Muslim college co-founded by anti-Israel firebrand receives accreditation
Excerpt: A California school co-founded by a firebrand who once called for an "intifada" in the U.S. has become the nation's first accredited Muslim college. Zaytuna College, which operates out of two rented buildings in Berkeley, Calif., and had an enrollment of 30 in 2013, was officially accredited earlier this week by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges—one of the six academic organizations responsible for authorizing public and private colleges and universities in the United States. The certification means the school can apply for various federal and private grants, issue visas to international students and allow students to transfer credits to or from other accredited schools.

Source: Senate panel probing ‎possible Obama administration ties to anti-Netanyahu effort
Excerpt: According to the source, the probe is looking into “funding” by OneVoice Movement – a Washington-based group that has received $350,000 in recent State Department grants, and until last November was headed by a veteran diplomat from the Clinton administrations. A subsidiary of OneVoice is the Israel-based Victory 15 campaign, itself guided by top operatives of Obama’s White House runs, which seeks to “replace the government” of Israel. “It’s confirmed that there is a bipartisan Permanent Subcommittee inquiry into OneVoice’s funding of V15,” the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity about the American group, which bills itself as working for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

You Won’t Believe What Gitmo Detainees Are Throwing At Guards Daily
Excerpt: Detainees locked away in Guantanamo Bay apparently like to pass the time by throwing a "cocktail" of feces, urine, sperm, and vomit at guards on an almost daily basis, Marine Gen. John Kelly of U.S. Southern Command informed the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday (How about retaliating by throwing pig entrails back at them. --JB).
