Today's News

Comment from a reader on my essay: Racism in America
Robert, You are a gift. Once again you have done a superb job of adding superior perspective to an age old problem we humans all share...disliking or not trusting that which isn't of our own culture. Thanks a million for that terrific essay. My personal world is so "segregated by prejudices " that I can only feel comfortable sending this to "my like choir," which is such a shame... but when I sent your "I'm Tired" essay on to my Sis, years ago, she stopped talking to me for almost two years (We are back to being the fine friends we have always been), and her daughter informed me I was "diminished" in her eyes. Keep writing and informing. The world needs you. Huge hugs, --Wendy

HGTV Drops “Anti-Gay” Twins Because of “Public” Outcry
http://lastresistance.com/5698/hgtv-drops-anti-gay-twins-public-outcry/
Excerpt: Case in point: a small minority of homosexuals pressured HGTV not to pick up the show Flip it Forward because its hosts, twin brothers Jason and David Benham, were discovered to be “anti-gay, anti-abortion, anti-Muslim extremists.” (I don't have a problem with gay marriage. I have a big problem with censorship. ~Bob. More Bovine Excrement PC. --JB)

Wis. prosecutors abuse the law for partisan ends. By George F. Will
Excerpt: U.S. District Judge Rudolph T. Randa, revolted by the police-state arrogance of some elected prosecutors, has stopped a partisan abuse of law enforcement that was masquerading as political hygiene. Last Tuesday, Randa halted the corruption being committed by people pretending to administer campaign regulations — regulations ostensibly enacted to prevent corruption or the appearance thereof. The prosecutors’ cynical manipulation of Wisconsin’s campaign laws is more than the mere appearance of corruption.

House Passes Bipartisan Charter School Bill. By Leah Barkoukis
Excerpt: With strong bipartisan support, the House on Friday passed a bill, 360-45, to expand access to charter school funding. Introduced by the chairman of the House Education Committee, Rep. John Kline (R-MN), the Success and Opportunity through Quality Charter Schools Act “supports state efforts to start, expand, and replicate high-performing charter schools,” according to the Education and the Workforce Committee. (Helping poor kids, Black and white, get a better education? Obama won't like this. Reid will block it--they need teacher union votes in November. ~Bob)

Manmade Climate Disruption – the Hype and Reality. By Paul Driessen
Excerpt: First, it is designed to distract us from topics that the President and Democrats do not want to talk about: ObamaCare, the IRS scandals, Benghazi, a host of foreign policy failures, still horrid jobless and workforce participation rates, and an abysmal 0.1% first quarter GDP growth rate that hearkens back to the Great Depression. Second, fear-inducing “climate disruption” claims are needed to justify job-killing, economy-choking policies like the endless delays on the Keystone XL pipeline; still more wind, solar and ethanol mandates, tax breaks and subsidies; and regulatory compliance costs that have reached $1.9 trillion per year – nearly one-eighth of the entire US economy. Third, scary hyperventilating serves to obscure important realities about Earth’s weather and climate, and even the NCA report itself.

Obama Unleashes the Left: How the government created a federal hunting license for the far left.
Excerpt: In the U.S., the politics of the left versus the right rolls on with the predictability of traffic jams at the George Washington Bridge. It's a lot of honking. Until now. All of a sudden, the left has hit ramming speed across a broad swath of American life—in the universities, in politics and in government. People fingered as out of line with the far left's increasingly bizarre claims are being hit and hit hard. Commencement-speaker bans are obligatory. Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice withdrew as Rutgers's speaker after two months of protests over Iraq, the left's long-sought replacement for the Vietnam War. Brandeis terminated its invitation to Somali writer Hirsi Ali, whose criticisms of radical Islam violated the school's "core values." (And people used to worry about the Far Right sending out a new crop of Nazis! --Del)

Excerpt: Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) is more than 400 signatures short of qualifying for the primary ballot, according to a new report released by the Wayne County Clerk's office. According to the Detroit News, Conyers submitted just 592 valid signatures for the August Democratic primary, far short of the 1,000 he needs to qualify. (Bet they let him on the ballot anyway to avoid charges of racism. ~Bob)

Policing for Profit? Lawmakers, advocates raise alarm at growing gov’t power to seize property
Excerpt: ...But not every target of civil forfeiture can afford the fight. In 1985, the U.S. Department of Justice created its Asset Forfeiture Fund. One year later, the fund -- which holds the proceeds from seized property and is available to be divvied out to law enforcement agencies -- brought in $93.7 million. In 2008, the amount had ballooned to $1.6 billion. In 2013, it reached $6.3 billion.

Al Sharpton Versus the Teleprompter
Too funny.

Mike Lee's agenda could make 2014 elections about crony capitalism. By Timothy P. Carney
Big if." ~Bob. Excerpt: Republicans can make the 2014 election a referendum on corporate welfare, forcing Democrats to defend government handouts to well-connected big businesses. That is, if Republicans actually oppose government handouts to well-connected big businesses.

Obama-donor CEO of Panera Bread: Raise the minimum wage, because I'm replacing cashiers with robots, anyway. By Timothy P. Carney
http://washingtonexaminer.com/obama-donor-ceo-of-panera-bread-raise-the-minimum-wage-because-im-replacing-cashiers-with-robots-anyway/article/2548276
Excerpt: My question: Will Shaich pay $10.10 an hour to the kiosks he plans to install in every Panera in AmericaBusinessweek tells that at the coffee and sandwich shop, you'll soon be ordering through a touch-screen kiosk. Shaich insists this won't lead to downsizing: Panera will have fewer cashiers but more employees running the food to customers' tables. We'll see.

Excerpt: There are few things that could revert our modern day civilization back to the Stone Age. Most of them are naturally occurring events such as a massive asteroid impact, a global Tsunami, or a super volcano. But as far as man-made events go, an electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) attack on our national power grid would be so devastating that, according to a panel of experts who addressed Congressional members on Capitol Hill this week, a nuclear strike would pale in comparison.

I Checked My Privilege, And It’s Doing Just Fine. By Kurt Schlichter
Excerpt: Liberals have a new word for what normal people call “success.” They call it “privilege,” as if a happy, prosperous life is the result of some magic process related to where your great-great-great-grandfather came from. It’s the latest leftist argument tactic, which means it is a tactic designed to prevent any argument and to beat you into rhetorical submission.

Toure Freaks Out When MLK III Says It’s Important For Democrat Plantation Slaves To Run Away, Engage With Abolitionists
Excerpt: Life on the Democrat plantation has left blacks nothing but poor, uneducated and full of broken families.

They're Back! Solar Panels Now Atop The White House
Excerpt: A solar panel array now adorns the roof of the White House and will produce an elephantine amount of solar power when the sun is actually shining: 6.3 kilowatts. ... In other words, the White House installed enough solar panels to power six 50-watt bulbs for 20 hours each day.

Excerpt: Chief Obama science advisor John Holdren famously said: “A massive campaign must be launched to … de-develop the United States … bringing our economic system (especially patterns of consumption) into line with the realities of ecology and the global resource situation.… [Economists] must design a stable, low-consumption economy in which there is a much more equitable [re]distribution of wealth.”...This agenda translates into greater government control over energy production and use, job creation and economic growth, and people’s lives, livelihoods, living standards, liberties, health and welfare.

O'Reilly on America's Race Problem

Map of State Tax Collections

Behind New York was Maryland (at $1,823 per capita), Connecticut ($1,806), Massachusetts ($1,761), Oregon ($1,426), Minnesota ($1,404), Delaware ($1,360), California ($1,347), New Jersey ($1,204), and Virginia ($1,182). Tennessee collects just $30 per person, and New Hampshire collects only $63, as the states only tax investment income. 4 easy ways to boost the U.S. economy
Excerpt: The U.S. economy eked out a gain of 0.1% in the first quarter, the government said yesterday, as exports plummeted 12% and gross private investment tumbled 6.1%. What’s worse, gross domestic product expanded 2.6% in the previous three months. What can America do to reverse the trend and accelerate growth? Here are four ways, each of them within our grasp

Excerpt: For two days I had been reading the headlines....but didn't click on the story. Then today, I finally read that a police officer down in Hearne, Texas had been fired by the city council for killing a 93 year old Black woman. Had I stopped there I would have thought "what a brute!" Then I read further and learned that this 93 year old lady was brandishing a handgun, that when the officer arrived on the scene, in response to a 911 call by the family, and asked her to drop the gun, she refused and was pointing the weapon at the officer. According to the woman's nephew, the elderly lady fired two shots in response to the order to drop the weapon. The officer then shot her three times and she died from her injuries. And for that he's been fired.

Obamacare News

Lest we forget
Obama'08: Background questions on healthcare plan. Q: I like my current plan. Will I have to change? A: No, you will not have to change plans. For those who have insurance now, nothing will change under the Obama Plan--except that you will pay less. Obama's Plan will save a typical family up to $2,500 on premiums by bringing the healthcare system into the 21st century: cutting waste, improving technology, expanding coverage to all. (Without his lies, he would not have been elected and without them, the ACA would not have passed. Period. ~Bob)

Excerpt: Dr. David Hogberg, a healthcare policy analyst for the National Center for Public Policy Research explained: “If you had your plan prior to March 2010 when Obamacare became law, it was supposed to be grandfathered in. You were supposed to keep it, but the Department of Labor came out with these grandfather regulations. It’s almost like telling a guy you can keep walking on the beach as long as you don’t get any sand on your feet. It’s almost impossible not to violate.” But what’s going to happen when Obama’s illegal extension ends? According to some experts, up to 20 million private healthcare policies will be cancelled for failing to meet the Obamacare guidelines.

The Obamacare Report: From The American Refugees. Edited by ObamaCare Girl
Lots of links to articles. Wonder if it's really her? ~Bob

I am The ObamaCare Website Girl; This is My story
Excerpt: While I was used to a certain amount of attention as a White, Latino, Octoroon, nothing could prepare me for the hell that my life was to become, once I became, “The ObamaCare Website Girl”. I began to be chased down by mobs of angry Obama voters because they thought affordable meant free. I was blamed by others for the failures of the website. They said I was so cute that millions of Americans were flocking to the website just to get a look at me. This was the cause of excessively high traffic that was crashing the site. Other people blamed me for losing their health coverage. The worst of all was the union thugs who loudly declared that I was the one causing them problems with their Cadillac insurances planes. Many union leaders threatened my life and tried to beat me. The funny thing is, I never asked, nor was I asked, to be the ObamaCare Website Girl. I was neither consulted nor compensated. They used my image without permission. Then, when they decided they were done with me, they tossed me aside into the garbage, like they do to aborted babies.

Excerpt: Here is the tolerant West at its most suicidal: after Ali Jaffari was charged with attempted child-stealing, “Magistrate Ron Saines said if he was hearing the matter, he would have reasonable doubt, citing ‘cultural differences’ as one factor, which would result in the charges being dismissed.” Jaffari is “an Afghan refugee, was convicted in Geelong Magistrates’ Court on August 22, 2013, of indecently assaulting one boy and attempting to indecently assault another.” Jaffari explained: “For us is not an issue.” Since then, “this abuser has since been following children near the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre and a Beaconsfield Parade playground and as well as stalking children leaving school. One of the worried mothers is TV personality Kate Langbroek, who tweeted the following alarming warning to other parents: ‘There’s a pedo hanging around our kids’ school.’” Get used to it, Ms. Langbroek. It’s multicultural.

Washington Post (writer) Calls for Shariah Limits on Free Speech
http://freedomoutpost.com/2014/05/washington-post-calls-shariah-limits-free-speech/

Excerpt: The article's author, Omar Sacirbey, promotes the mythical "anti-Muslim hate" narrative that is skillfully used by Shariah advocates to silence the truth about Islam. According to Sacirbey, free speech is a dangerous thing. Sacirbey wants Internet speech to be restricted, because if free speech goes unchecked, it could lead to ______ (fill in the blank – make it up as you go along). He cites a "report" from the "Muslim Advocates" that claims "anti-Muslim hate speech on the Internet is commonplace and can motivate some people to commit acts of violence against Muslims." Operative word: "can." (So, of course, could anti-Jewish, anti-Christian or anti-conservative speech. You can't hold the publisher responsible for every opinion published--or no one would publish me. ~Bob)
