Posting again today, as lots of news and comment

Update

Posting again today, as too many good and current items to hold.

Scotland votes tomorrow on independence. It will be interesting for them, the UK, the US and the world however it urns out. I wouldn't bet either way. I think my head and heart are on opposite sides. But I've help my tongue with Scots friends--it's their country, not mine. Despite my kilts, dancing, whisky drinking and haggis making.

Two VA lung transplant guys we are friends with are having it tough. Both went home and were doing well, better than me at the time they left. (If I didn't live in Madison, Bonnie and I would have been in the hotel here since last October 3!) Brian, a former paratrooper, was in the VA hospital for three weeks, and is back on oxygen, as I was. Joe had worse news. He developed pancreatic and liver cancer. He was just told it is stage four, and he has only 2-3 months to live. They tell me that with infection and rejection, the other big killer of lung transplant patients is tumors. If there is an small cancer sitting there, suppressing the immune system lets it run wild. Prayers for both. ~Bob

General News and Comment

In my last blog post, I wrote: Obama's Strategy on ISIS: "Hey! Look Over there. Ebola! And sure enough this pops up a few hours later. ~Bob
Obama To Send 3,000 Military Forces To Fight Ebola In West Africa
Excerpt: Calling the Ebola outbreak in West Africa a threat to world security, President Barack Obama on Tuesday broadly expanded the U.S. response by ordering thousands of troops to the region along with an aggressive effort to train health care workers and build treatment centers.

Obama is tougher than we give him credit for. Nixon never deployed troops in the war on cancer.

General: Sending Military To Fight Ebola 'Misuse' Of Soldiers. Ex-Delta Force commander stresses 'great risk' of infection
http://www.wnd.com/2014/09/boykin-sending-military-to-fight-ebola-misuse-of-soldiers/
Excerpt: Sending American troops to combat Ebola in Liberia is “an absolute misuse of the U.S. military,” contends retired Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin. “The health mission in Liberia would be better accomplished by private-sector NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations), including the French organization Médecins San Frontières, Doctors without Borders, among others, or by some other U.S. government agency such as the Department of Health and Human Services,” he stressed.

Must Read: The Great Unraveling. By Roger Cohen  New York Times
Excerpt: It was the time of unraveling. Long afterward, in the ruins, people asked: How could it happen? (A truly gritty view of things going on in the world, and he still left out the scariness of expansionist China, the failures of socialism in Venezuela and elsewhere, the porous US border with tens of thousands of children crossing it, the expanding flow of Africans crossing the Mediterranean to get into Europe, the failed states like Somalia, and a few other things that I just don't even want to go on listing. We do indeed live in "interesting times", and the lack of real, focused, effective leadership in this country is the part that concerns me the most. --Del)

Benghazi Whistleblower: We Were Ordered to Withhold Documents from Review Board. By Guy Benson
Excerpt: Ahead of the House Select Committee on Benghazi's first public hearing tomorrow, former CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson is out with a significant new report centered around new claims from a former State Department official. Raymond Maxwell -- whom you may recall as one of the lower-level employees disciplined, then reinstated, in the wake of the Benghazi firestorm -- says he was ordered to cull damaging documents from a file of evidence being handed over to the State Department's 'independent' Accountability Review Board (ARB):

DA: No charges in Swatara Township fatal shooting
Excerpt: Dauphin County prosecutors will not file charges in a fatal shooting Sunday morning in Swatara Township. District Attorney Ed Marsico said 23-year-old Craig Everette II had a right to defend others when he shot and killed 60-year-old Todd Eugene Taylor. ... Authorities said he is a combat veteran and a Purple Heart recipient who has no criminal record. (Bad guy dead, two lives saved by gun owner. ~Bob)

Teachers Hope to Erase Union Dues That Deny Free Speech. By Kevin Mooney
Excerpt: Why would she pay to advance policy positions she opposes? Because, as a teacher in a big union state that doesn’t revere the “right to work,” she must. Friedrichs used to belong to the California Teachers Association, the state affiliate of the powerful National Education Association. She volunteered for the teachers union in her school and attended CTA’s state conferences. But she left when their disagreements began to pile up.

Worth Reading: Multiculturalism Is a Failure. By Walter E. Williams
Excerpt: Multiculturalists argue that different cultural values are morally equivalent. That's nonsense. Western culture and values are superior. For those who'd accuse me of Eurocentrism, I'd ask: Is forcible female genital mutilation, as practiced in nearly 30 sub-Saharan African and Middle Eastern countries, a morally equivalent cultural value? Slavery is practiced in Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad and Sudan; is it morally equivalent? In most of the Middle East, there are numerous limits placed on women, such as prohibitions on driving, employment and education. Under Islamic law, in some countries, female adulterers face death by stoning, and thieves face the punishment of having their hand severed. In some countries, homosexuality is a crime punishable by death. Are these cultural values morally equivalent, superior or inferior to Western values?

Well, Harry Reid, in another attempt to recruit more women in defense of the Republicans' "war on women" again trotted out the Paycheck Fairness Act this week. If you have an IQ below 70 stop reading now. You see, the Paycheck Fairness Act is just a ruse...it has nothing to do with raising the salaries of women. Instead it is the Debbie "Wasserman Test" Schultz equivalent of "republicans grabbing women by the hair and jerking them back to the 1950's. I read the proposed bill. You should too. Go to Senate.gov and read what it was REALLY about.

Jewish group brands Biden's Shylock comment 'offensive.' By Olivier Knox
Excerpt: Vice President Joe Biden drew fire from a prominent Jewish group on Tuesday after he described unscrupulous bankers who prey on servicemen and servicewomen deployed overseas as “Shylocks” — a term frequently condemned as an anti-Semitic caricature.

Obamanomics Victimizes President's Biggest Supporters Most. By Stephen Moore
Excerpt: Politics is often filled with paradoxes, and here is one that nearly defies explanation. The demographic groups that voted most heavily for Barack Obama in 2012 have suffered the most from this president’s economic policies. Maybe the people in these demographic groups – blacks, Hispanics, single women and young people – are economically uninformed, or maybe for these groups, when it comes to voting, it’s not the economy, stupid. Whatever the explanation, the facts speak for themselves: Obama voters have not benefited from his policies.

MissouriAlabama schools drop Michelle O’s lunch program
New federal school food regulations promoted by First Lady Michelle Obama are becoming a massive headache for many schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program. ....Those schools and numerous others across the country are ditching the federal regulations and the funding that comes with them to save their cafeteria programs, which have experienced a nose-dive in sales and skyrocketing waste since the new rules were implemented in 2012...Notre Dame’s lunch participation had dropped to about half of its 565 students and 65 faculty members under the federal guidelines, but jumped drastically to about 75 percent once officials did away with the tight restrictions on calories, fat, sodium, whole grains, and numerous other aspects of school meals.

A Plea For Constitutional Literacy On Constitution Day. Ben Carson: 'Government was never intended to intrude on every aspect of our lives
Excerpt: Earlier this summer, I managed to perplex, perhaps even offend, a famous TV interviewer when I declared I want a federal government that follows the U.S. Constitution. Seemingly aghast, the interviewer went so far as to suggest my position was a “highly charged thing to say.” Imagine that. A journalist – who, owing to the Constitution, has the right to report and speak freely – being uncomfortable with a fellow American’s allegiance to the Constitution and to the Founding Fathers’ vision of a limited central government. (But the gov gives phones, Food Stamps/cards, and that disability $$ for the crack, pot, meth and beer.....Mother's milk to the masses to stay stoned and ignore the country going down the toilet. To suggest the gov get out of their lives? Scary to some. --Barb)

Not safe to display American flag in American high school — denial of rehearing en banc. By Eugene Volokh
Excerpt: This is a classic “heckler’s veto” — thugs threatening to attack the speaker, and government officials suppressing the speech to prevent such violence. “Heckler’s vetoes” are generally not allowed under First Amendment law; the government should generally protect the speaker and threaten to arrest the thugs, not suppress the speaker’s speech. But under Tinker‘s “forecast substantial disruption” test, such a heckler’s veto is indeed allowed. ((This is a bad, bad, bad idea. --Del

Air Force removes ‘so help me God’ requirement from enlistment oath
excerpt: Members of the U.S. Air Force will no longer be required to say “so help me God” during their enlistment oath. A legal review of rules that required the phrase occurred after the American Humanist Association threatened to sue on behalf of an atheist airman. The unnamed airman at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada was denied re-enlistment Aug. 25 after crossing the phrase out of the oath. (And America turned from God....Barb)

Bombshell Emails: White House Coordinated With Department of Labor to Hide Illegal Obama Fundraiser Hilda Solis’ Schedule
Excerpt: The Department of Labor coordinated with the White House on whether or not to release hidden portions of former Labor Secretary Hilda Solis’ schedule as Solis battled an FBI investigation into her illegal fundraising for President Obama. New emails provided to The Daily Caller from the nonprofit legal research firm Cause of Action show the White House thanking the Department of Labor for “flagging” a public information request for “withheld” portions of Solis’ schedule. (SEE THE EMAIL CHAIN). The White House then asked for the name of the conservative group making the request — information that Labor officials were eager to give up. (Regime takes hatched to Hatch Act as well as Constitution....Barb)

Insurance Company with Lowest Rates, Most Customers Pulls Out of MNsure. By Jennie Olson
Excerpt: It’s a major blow to the MNsure health insurance exchange – the insurance company with the lowest rates and the most customers signed up through MNsure will not be back in 2015.

CBO: Cost of Obamacare Subsidy Will Increase 8-Fold in 10 Years
Excerpt: The cost of the Obamacare subsidy that the U.S. Treasury will pay on behalf of people who earn under 400 percent of the federal poverty level and who buy a government-approved health-care plan on a government-run health-insurance exchange will increase by approximately 8-fold in its first ten years of operation, according to the latest budget estimate from the Congressional Budget Office. Medicaid spending will double in the first ten years of full implementation of Obamacare, according to the CBO estimates. (Check this over carefully, and note the final paragraph. ObamaCare will cost as much as national defense in a few more years. What will this mean to the overall national budget? It will of course mean running FURTHER INTO THE RED. How long can the nation actually keep doing that on the grand scale that Mr. Obama has made normal somehow? The truth is that this is not going to work out well at all, and we can only hope that in 2016 someone gets elected who will start to disassemble ObamaCare for something a lot more workable, with less bureaucratic overhead, and less "wealth redistribution". --Del. Paying the Health-Care Piper: Obamacare’s mandates are coming due for millions of Americans. By Michael Tanner
Excerpt: Last week roughly 250,000 Virginians began receiving notices that their health insurance was being canceled because it failed to meet all the mandates and other regulatory requirements of Obamacare. They are likely to be just the first in a new wave of Americans who are being thrown off their current insurance plan — even if they like it, to recall President Obama’s now inoperative promise.

Shumlin’s single-payer health care agenda ‘down for maintenance.’ By Bruce Parker
Excerpt: Gov. Peter Shumlin said Tuesday that Vermont Health Connect, the Internet backbone of his Green Mountain Care single-payer scheme, is indefinitely down for maintenance.

Obama’s Lonely Climate Summit – world leaders are staying home. By Anthony Watts
Excerpt: Eric Worrall writes: The imminent climate summit in New York is rapidly turning into an utter embarrassment for President Obama and UN Secretary General Bank Ki-Moon, in addition to becoming a bit of a punishment round for national deputy leaders. Aussie PM Tony Abbott today defended his decision not to hop on an earlier flight to America, so he could attend the UN climate conference in New York, because he has more important matters to attend to, such as running the country.

Excerpt: The debate over fracking is a pretty low-quality one, driven by emotion, invented evidence, gross distortion of the facts, and general intellectual dishonesty. This is a shame for many reasons: Inflicting unnecessary stupidity on the world is a sin, for one thing. For another, it is important that we actually understand the fairly thorny environmental problems presented not only by fracking but by other methods of drilling for natural gas. A paper published Monday by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences presents very strong evidence that the contamination of drinking water in wells in Texas and Pennsylvania was not the result of fracking. But the wells were nonetheless contaminated.

Worth Reading: Bobby Jindal Explains Why Democrats Are the True Science Deniers. By Conn Carroll
Excerpt: "We now face an administration that is composed of science deniers when it comes to energy and the environment," Jindal said at a lunch with reporters at The Heritage Foundation. "You are looking at an administration that is holding our economy hostage to their radical views. It really is an article of religious faith amongst this administration the way they approach these questions of policy." Pressed after his presentation to identify what specific science the White House was denying, Jindal rattled off a lengthy list: ... "When it was scarce and expensive they loved natural gas. When it was $13 they loved natural gas. As soon as it was affordable, all of a sudden they decided they didn't like it so much. I think that if they are honest, they want energy to be scarce and expensive because it allows the federal government to be more involved in our lives and it allows them to decide what kind of cars you drive, what kind of homes you live in, how we live our lives."

Congress poised to approve Obama’s Iraq-Syria military strategy amid skepticism
Excerpt: The House on Wednesday approved President Obama’s plan to train and equip moderate Syrian rebels to counter the growing threat of the Islamic State terrorist organization even though lawmakers in both parties remain deeply skeptical about its chances for success.

That was then...
December 20, 2007 Obama: "The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation. As Commander-in-Chief, the President does have a duty to protect and defend the United States. In instances of self-defense, the President would be within his constitutional authority to act before advising Congress or seeking its consent."

Worth Reading: If You Liked Vietnam, You’ll Love the War With the Islamic State. By Gary Anderson
Excerpt: President Obama is repeating three key strategic mistakes that President Johnson made in Vietnam. First, he has embarked on an open ended commitment; there was no measurable end state. In a similar manner, President Obama throws around the words degrade, defeat, and destroy as if they are interchangeable. Degradation and defeat are things that have to be accomplished before an enemy is destroyed. In some cases, the aim of a conflict is only to defeat the enemy as it was in ejecting Saddam Hussein from Kuwait in DESERT STORM. Degrade is something you do to his command and control along the way to defeating him.

Worth Reading: The “No Boots On The Ground” Mantra Is Strategic Foolishness. By Richard L. Russell
Excerpt: President Barack Obama is fond of publicly declaring that there will be “no boots on the ground” when commenting on the Syria, Iraq, and Islamic State crises. Key national security lieutenants in his administration have loyally followed suit. Vice President Joe Biden has opined that the Islamic State, “can be routed by local forces without U.S. boots on the ground.” And Secretary of State John Kerry remarked at the NATO summit in Wales in regard to Iraq that “I think that’s a red line for everybody here: no boots on the ground.” One would have thought that given the administration’s strategic blunder in not enforcing its “red line” over the Syrian regime’s use of chemical weapons, officials would be gun-shy about publicly using the term.

Dempsey: If Coalition Fails, We'll Need U.S. Boots on Ground Against ISIS. By Katie Pavlich
Excerpt: Testifying on Capitol Hill Tuesday in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey said that although "we're not there yet," the United States may eventually need to deploy U.S. ground troops to fight ISIS if a coalition and airstrikes fail to get the job done against the terror army. (Not "If" but "When." Nothing will happen with "boots" until after the election. Saddle up, boys, moving out. ~Bob)

Stubborn opposition to Obama's Syria plan
Excerpt: After years of tepid relations with Congress, Obama is asking lawmakers to quickly authorize a mission to arm and train Syrian rebels to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. Obama has been feverishly lobbying Capitol Hill to run up the vote count, but the White House is running into stubborn opposition from an unusual cross section of lawmakers in both parties. The opponents of Obama’s Syria plan do not appear to have the support needed to derail the legislation, but the amount of opposition from Republicans and Democrats has startled both the White House and congressional leaders. (At the risk of being boringly repetitious, I'll say it again. THERE ARE NO GOOD GUYS IN SYRIA. Weapons given them will eventually be used to kill Americans, Israelis and other infidels. I wish I knew the date I first said this. It was when giving the "moderate" opposition weapons was first proposed, a couple of years ago. ~Bob)

Sen. Lindsey Graham — and less responsible politicians. By Jennifer Rubin
Excerpt: “This is not a strategy designed by the military. It is a strategy imposed on the military, designed to protect the president’s political promises,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) tells Right Turn regarding the administration’s plan for to “degrade” and “destroy” the Islamic State. And sure enough, today the president declared at MacDill Air Force Base, “As your commander in chief, I will not commit you and the rest of our armed forces to fighting another ground war in Iraq.” Plainly the president is trapped by his own rhetoric and pride, unwilling to allow that his anti-Bush iterations over the years have been unrealistic or even dangerous.

ISIS releases "Coming Soon" video.
Excerpt: Islamic State militants have threatened to target the White House and kill US troops in a new slickly made video response to Barack Obama’s campaign to “degrade and destroy” the organisation. The video, in the style of a blockbuster movie trailer for what is “coming soon”, purports to show a masked man apparently about to shoot kneeling prisoners in the head. Towards the end of the clip there is shaky footage of the White House filmed from a moving vehicle, suggesting the building is being scoped out for attack.

Think Iraq and Syria are Bad? Wait for Libya and the Sinai to Blow Up. By Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt
Last night in the Fox News green room, Senator Lindsey Graham pointed out that Libya remains a mess — approaching the status of a failed state — and that if the U.S. really makes life miserable for ISIS in Iraq (and Syria?), ISIS could withdraw their leaders to Libya and reestablish themselves there. Oh, and here’s one major complication for one of the region’s traditional Arab powers, Egypt, if they wanted to take a bigger role against the Islamic State: Islamist militants in the Sinai Peninsula are getting more aggressive: "Six policemen were killed Tuesday when a bomb blast tore through their armored vehicle in the Sinai Peninsula, security officials said. It was the second such deadly attack this month. Egyptian security forces have recently stepped up their offensive against armed Islamist groups in the Sinai, raiding hideouts and targeting militant leaders. The insurgents have fought back with powerful roadside bombs." Senator Joe Manchin, the West Virginia Democrat, makes the not-easy-to-dispute argument that way too often, U.S. arms and training provided to non-state groups ends up getting used against Americans. The U.S. spent billions and years training the Iraqi army . . . and then they fell apart in their first real fight against the Islamic State. (Even some Democrats have figured it out. I remind you that an email subscription to Morning Jolt is free. ~Bob)

Worth Reading: War against ISIS Headed for Failure. By Tarek Fatah
Excerpt: When U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry sat down in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on the 13th anniversary of 9/11, surrounded by the leaders of 10 Arab states, to build a coalition against Islamic State (ISIS), the scene dripped with irony. For decades, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, along with Arab billionaires in Gulf Arab states, have financed the breeding grounds of Islamic extremism in the tens of thousands of madrassas spread around the world, from Philippines to Philadelphia.

Syrian Brotherhood Stands Nearer to ISIS Than to U.S. By Ravi Kumar
Excerpt: While the United States tries to build a coalition of Arab allies to join the fight against the terrorist group ISIS, now known as the Islamic State, one group which stands to benefit directly is coming out against Western intervention and expressing unity with other radical jihadists. A Syrian Muslim Brotherhood spokesman says attacks on the Islamic State by the United States and its allies are not the answer.

Excerpt: Wagdy Ghoneim, just expelled from Qatar along with other Muslim Brotherhood leaders, used to live in the United States. He served as imam at the Islamic Institute of Orange County, California in the early 2000’s, and raised funds for Hamas-linked Muslim charity KindHearts. How many people are still in the United States today who learned about Islam from Wagdy Ghoneim? And why doesn’t this Muslim cleric, who has dedicated his life to understanding and teaching the Qur’an and Sunnah, see what Barack Obama and David Cameron and Tony Abbott and so many other non-Muslims see so clearly, that the Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam? (Wait, hasn't Obama supported the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and elsewhere during the Arab Spring? ~Bob)

Unbelievable: Chelsea Manning breaks silence to criticise Obama's Isis strategy: Intelligence analyst arrested for passing cache of documents to WikiLeaks writes personal view on how best to defeat Isis
Excerpt: Chelsea Manning, the US army soldier who worked as an intelligence analyst in Iraq before being arrested for passing state secrets to WikiLeaks, says the only way to defeat Isis is to allow the group to set up its own contained “failed ‘state’” where over time its fire would “die out on its own”. Writing in the Guardian, Manning says her experience as an all-source analyst near Baghdad in 2009-10 leads her to doubt the strategy being followed by the Obama administration. (Weakling traitor criticizes weakling president. That's the pot calling, er, never mind. [Don't want to give the left an excuse to play the race card]. If there's one person I'd take Obama's advice over, it is Manning. If they decide to shoot him/her, I volunteer, and will bring my own rifle and ammo. ~Bob)

Excerpt: The man who could assure the American public with a straight face over thirty times that they could keep their doctor under his health plan, when he knew that to be completely false, is one hellluva fibber. But execrable as that serial prevarication may have been, it doesn’t hold a proverbial candle to his most recent whopper — that the Islamic State is not Islamic — not to mention its corollary, or perhaps subsidiary lie, that real religions do not indulge in murder.

Excerpt: Surely Obama, Kerry, Cameron, Abbott, and the rest are on their way over to Syria to find this chap and explain to him how he is misunderstanding Islam.

Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson Says Beheadings Do Not Justify Strikes
Excerpt: U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Dallas) argued the beheading of two American journalists by ISIS does not justify U.S. airstrikes into Syria Thursday. During an interview on Capitol Hill, Johnson said the slayings of James Foley and Steven Sotloff should not lead to bombing ISIS forces in Syria. (you'd think this kind of thing would hurt her, but as with Maxine Waters and others, her constituents seem to like it. ~Bob)

Obama’s Reluctant Rush to War: Why should any American trust Washington to get its ISIS strategy right in a hurry? By Jonah Goldberg
Excerpt: President Obama is rushing into a war he doesn’t want to fight. He can barely bring himself to call it a war. Obama didn’t merely ignore the threat of the Islamic State for the better part of a year, he ridiculed the notion the terror group was anything but a “jayvee team.” Now suddenly, he wants to go to war. Sort of. The administration has struggled with the W-word. (Tweet from Tim Groseclose ‏@Tim_Groseclose  Liberals call everything a war ("on poverty," "on women"). Not so w/ air strikes coordinated with allies.)

Excerpt: “Hearing reports that Islamic State used chlorine gas in an assault on Iraq security forces this afternoon in Dhuluyia… There are now 12 people afflicted with chlorine gas poisoning in Dhuluyia, Iraq, following Islamic State attack on Iraqi security forces,” Matt Bradley wrote on his Twitter page, noting that he cannot verify the information as he is not in Dhuluyia.

House Republican leaders pitch Syria aid with checks on Obama
Excerpt: But the bill would not prohibit people with links to terrorist groups from actually participating in the program, the aide said. ....The aide said this language is intended to provide congressional oversight without hindering the mission. “We’re not asking for something that makes this mission impossible,” the aide said. (Oh, but Congress voting to fund $$ for folks in black turbans to slit your throats, you Bible-toting, gun-loving, yokels. Fund and train terrorists? Hey, Harry Reid says, "DO IT!" --Barb)

Excerpt: The characters in the game highlight aspects central to the Islamic State, such as jihad and “the willingness to sacrifice,” presumably a reference to “martyrdom” tactics. During moments of victory, the characters shout out Islamic slogans such as “Allahu Akbar!” and behead and slaughter their victims—true to the Islamic State’s modus operandi.

Hello, Kurdistan. By Daniel Pipes
Excerpt: Before welcoming the emerging state of Kurdistan in northern Iraq, I confess to having opposed its independence in the past. In 1991, after the Kuwait War had ended and as Saddam Hussein attacked Iraq's six million Kurds, I made three arguments against American intervention on their behalf, arguments still commonly heard today: (1) Kurdish independence would spell the end of Iraq as a state, (2) it would embolden Kurdish agitation for independence in Syria, Turkey, and Iran, leading to destabilization and border conflicts, and (3) it would invite the persecution of non-Kurds, causing "large and bloody exchanges of population." All three expectations proved flat-out wrong.

Excerpt: Jihadists on Twitter who are thought to be connected to al Qaeda's senior leadership have reported that the group's paramilitary commander in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region as well as a propagandist were killed in airstrikes earlier this year. The two slain al Qaeda operatives were identified as Sufyan al Maghribi, a Moroccan who served as al Qaeda's military chief in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and Umar al Talib, a propagandist who narrated videos for As Sahab.

North Carolina Bans Islamic “Sharia Law” in the State… Muslims Are Freaking Out
Excerpt: The state of North Carolina has taken a step that many other states have taken to ensure that the US Constitution and the constitution of the state are the laws that are applied in courts, not the laws of any foreign cultures. ... The NC bill’s authors hope to have avoided that problem by making the language of the bill so that it applies to any foreign laws, not specifically mentioning Sharia.

What’s Behind Germany’s New Anti-Semitism. By Jochen Bittner
Excerpt: Europe is living through a new wave of anti-Semitism. The president of Germany’s Central Council of Jews calls it the worst the Continent has seen since World War II. ... The new anti-Semitism does not originate solely with the typical white-supremacist neo-Nazi; instead, the ugly truth that many in Europe don’t want to confront is that much of the anti-Jewish animus originates with European people of Muslim background.

Muslim Jihadist Murders American Here in US and Obama Ignores It
http://godfatherpolitics.com/17089/muslim-jihadist-murders-american-us-obama-ignores/
Excerpt: Tevlin was martyred here in the United States in the name of jihad, but for obvious reasons the liberal mainstream media have ignored it. Washington DC is not outraged as they should be. ... One June 25, 2014, at age 19, Tevlin was driving his jeep in West Orange, New Jersey. He stopped at a red light when Ali Muhammad Brown pulled up next him and shot him eight times. Brown didn’t know Tevlin but chose him at random. Several days later, seventy-five bagpipes played at the funeral of the young man who used to play for others.

The Spread of Rocky Mountain Jihad. By Michelle Malkin
Excerpt: Something's fouling Colorado's crisp air -- and I'm not talking about the pot smoke.

In my adopted home state, the toxic fumes of Islamic jihad have penetrated the most unlikely hamlets and hinterlands. Obama administration officials are vehemently denying plots by ISIS operatives to cross our borders. But the lesson here is clear: Thanks to laptop recruitment, reckless visa policies and homegrown treachery, the U.S.-based jihad export-import business is and has been thriving.( And it spreads from one weak mind to another in this country, with the infection aided by on-line fanatics. The idea of western women converting to Islam, where they become property with almost no rights, seems insane, but some of these women go for it. Which strikes me as prima facie evidence of a very weak mind! But the point is that this virus does get spread through various means including everyone's laptop or tablet. We do need the FBI and Homeland Security watching out for this very, very carefully. --Del)
