General News and Comment

Scary: U.S.' Nuclear Weapons Policy Puts Country At Great Risk. By Robert R. Monroe
Excerpt: At the dawn of the nuclear era, when America created its nuclear weapons laboratories (Los Alamos, Livermore and Sandia), one of their primary missions was to avoid technological surprise. The labs were charged to conduct advanced nuclear weapons research, development and testing of all types so that no adversary could ever take us unawares by producing some new and dangerous types of nuclear weapons. ... But since 1992, the U.S. government — executive branch and Congress — has actively prevented the labs from doing work of this type. ... Monroe is a retired Navy Vice Admiral and former director of the Defense Nuclear Agency. (This is totally UNSAT, and even frightening, to say the least. I, for one, hadn’t realized we had gone so far (backwards) in such a short time. --Don Myers, Col, USMC, Ret)

Barack Obama Now Controls the Court of Appeals and the Republic
Excerpt: As he has done by ignoring Congress and the Supreme Court of the United States, Obama is eliminating voices not his own...This is part of Mr. Obama’s fundamental transformation. We are becoming a dictatorship.

Obama push to hire veterans into federal jobs spurs resentment
Excerpt: President Obama’s push to hire military veterans for jobs across the government is fueling resentment in federal offices, as longtime civil servants and former troops on the other side of the cubicle increasingly question each other’s competence and qualifications. With veterans moving to the head of the hiring queue in the biggest numbers in a generation, there’s growing bitterness on both sides, according to dozens of interviews with federal employees. (When I was a State Senator, a feminist lobbyist told me that veteran's preference (5 points I think it was) in c\the Commonwealth's Civil Service Law discriminated against women. I told her that because I was a vet, I started college at 22, the age most of the discriminated women graduated at and started their careers. "Only women who tried to join and were rejected due to gender can claim thing," I said. ~Bob

Army is worried too many white men lead combat units
Excerpt: U.S. Army sociologists are worried that a lack of black officers leading its combat troops will have detrimental effect on minorities and lead to fewer black officers in top leadership posts. (If your son is in the military, be he black, white or other, do you want his leader to have the right skin color or to be the most competent to bring him home alive? ~Bob)

What can we do? By Col. Donald J. Myers USMC (Ret)
Excerpt: What can we do is a phrase that one hears from people who do not intend to do anything or are afraid to do something that goes against the current tide. It is amazing what one person can achieve if one really ignores the nay Sayers.

Benghazi Bombshell: Clinton State Department Official Reveals Details of Alleged Document Review. By Sharyl Attkisson
Excerpt: As the House Select Committee on Benghazi prepares for its first hearing this week, a former State Department diplomat is coming forward with a startling allegation: Hillary Clinton confidants were part of an operation to “separate” damaging documents before they were turned over to the Accountability Review Board investigating security lapses surrounding the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attacks on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya. (Another important report passed on by the SOS guys, still doing a great job staying on top of the Benghazi mess. I saw two of the security agents who were at the main building in Benghazi get interviewed on Fox, and they left no question whatsoever about being told to "stand down", and waiting 25 minutes before they finally ignored the crap orders and went out to save Americans from the attackers. There is a book out about this, which I hope hits the best seller list. There can be no doubt of the horrific mishandling of everything in that debacle, and the rush to try to cover it up afterwards. --Del)

Excerpt: According to The Gazette, a cheese factory that specializes in cheese curds is shutting down. They’re not being shut down for a specific health violation or anything like that — they make good cheese. They’re closing up shot because compliance with new federal regulations will require more cash than they have to spend: ... A group of Amish and Mennonite farmers established the operation as co-op in 1946, according to the website.

The Dems Need a Kick From the Left. By Zephyr Teachout and Tim Wu
Excerpt: We went into our Democratic primary race against New York’s incumbent governor, Andrew Cuomo, and his running mate, Kathy Hochul, this summer with an idea of the challenges we faced: ... We saw how the governor had too often abandoned and betrayed core Democratic principles, and seemed to do so with impunity. Outside party politics, he had also been accused of breaking core ethics rules, becoming part of a corrupt system he had promised to fix. (The bigger problem for the Left is that their preferred president and their preferred governors and legislators, enacting their preferred policies, have not generated their preferred results. -- Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt)

Panera Gun Free Request Draws Huge Negative Reactions. By Dave Jolly
Excerpt: Secondly, they have created a more dangerous environment for their customers and especially for their employees as would be armed robbers will be more likely to target a Panera shop knowing no one will be armed. ... Evidently, a number of other people agree with me. CNBC, one of the leading liberal media outlets have a poll questioning people’s reactions to the Panera gun free announcement. At the time I’m writing this, here are the results of their poll:

Hillary Clinton’s big Iowa motorcade must be part of her ‘mass movement’ on climate change. By Doug Powers
Excerpt: Hillary Clinton more or less launched another bid for the Dem nomination in 2016 at the Harkin Steak Fry in Iowa. The meat is actually grilled, not fried, and per one of Hillary’s contract riders the steaks this year were cooked over select incinerating Benghazi documents and four more copies of Leaves of Grass she found in Bill’s duffel bag.

Liberaltopia turns to hell on Earth. By Tammy Bruce
Excerpt: Watch out. When liberals control paradise, welcome to Paradise Lost. Case in point: Hawaii, the deep-blue home state of President Obama. The City Council for Honolulu, on Hawaii's most populous island of Oahu, has decided to send its homeless population to another island, just outside of Honolulu Harbor. An official state park, Sand Island, as it's now known, used to be called Quarantine Island in the 19th century as it served as the waypoint for ships carrying passengers whom were thought to carry contagion. Then, during World War II, it was the home to Japanese, German and Italian internment camps.

The War on Poverty Has Been a Colossal Flop. Robert Rector
Excerpt: Since its beginning, U.S. taxpayers have spent $22 trillion on Johnson’s War on Poverty (in constant 2012 dollars). Adjusting for inflation, that’s three times more than was spent on all military wars since the American Revolution. The federal government currently runs more than 80 means-tested welfare programs. These programs provide cash, food, housing and medical care to low-income Americans. Federal and state spending on these programs last year was $943 billion. (These figures do not include Social Security, Medicare, or Unemployment Insurance.) (Dr. Thomas Sowell points out that poverty had declined in the decades before the War on Poverty was launched, but has gone up ever since. Of course, our poor have more consumer goods and disposable income than much of the middle class in the Third World. ~Bob)

Two Vietnam Vets Receive Medal of Honor

Worth Reading: What Would Braveheart Do? By Pat Buchanan
Excerpt: No matter how the vote turns out on Thursday in Scotland, either for independence or continued union with Britain, the disintegration of the Old Continent appears almost inevitable. .. The decomposition of the nations of Old Europe is the triumph of tribalism over transnationalism. The heart has reasons that the mind knows not, said Pascal. And the wild heart is winning.

Obamacare's Device Tax Grows More Devious. By Sally Pipes
Excerpt: Implementing the tax has proven nightmarish. Administrative errors, overpayments, and erroneous penalties have grown common. And these snafus are nothing compared to the havoc the device tax is beginning to wreak on the economy and the job market. So the tax is raising less money than Team Obama promised — and causing more destruction.

Democrats Wage War on Women, Blame Republicans. From The Patriot Post
Republicans are waging a "war on women," and part of their strategy is to deny basic reproductive health care. At least that's what Democrats want women voters to believe. So when Republicans like Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal propose expanding access to birth control by making more of it available over the counter, Democrats are thankful, right? Wrong. Democrats need women to think Republicans are evil, which in this case means preserving the access myth about birth control. Another big factor in the opposition is Planned Parenthood, for which a significant portion of business revolves around birth control. More demented still, however, is that Planned Parenthood is the nation's single largest abortion provider, and if women use more contraceptives, it means fewer babies to abort. Planned Parenthood is denouncing expansion proposals because women have to pay for all their birth control. All $9 per month. The horror!

New Questions Over Abortion Coverage In Health Law
Excerpt: The Government Accountability Office said in a report released late Monday that only 1 of 18 insurers it reviewed was separately itemizing a charge for coverage of elective abortions on enrollees' bills. That detail is important because the original compromise that President Barack Obama sealed with anti-abortion Democrats stipulated that no federal funds would be used to pay for elective abortions. Instead, private health plans covering the procedure would collect a separate premium, which would be segregated from federal subsidies for other medical services. (You mean Obama lied about Obamacare? I'm shocked! ~Bob)

Why Are Doctors So Unhappy? By John C. Goodman
Excerpt: Only 6 percent of doctors are happy with their jobs, according to one survey. They commit suicide at twice the rate of the general population. Over half are unsure they would recommend the practice of medicine to young people. So what’s going on? These are a few things you will discover in Sandeep Jauhar’s new memoir Doctored. ... Further, I think concierge medicine is not for the elite few. We all could have a concierge doctor if we freed doctors and patients to relate the way other professionals and their clients relate.

Undocumented Democrat News

What Exactly Is Comprehensive Immigration Reform? Comprehensive immigration reform — rarely has a catchphrase been so widely invoked and yet so little defined. Why?
Excerpt: If proponents of so-called reform detailed exactly what they wanted, American voters would never support their self-interested agendas. Most Americans insist that existing federal immigration laws be enforced. They are adamant that the border be shut tight to all unlawful entry. And they prefer legal immigration to reflect merit, diversity and ethnically blind criteria. (A heck of a question. Have we seen a nice, clear, concise answer to it anywhere? Well.... no. What is of concern now is not a logical system for allowing workers to come in from south of the border under controlled conditions, to work here, have half their wages safely collected for them, to be given to them as they return home. It's not about making sure that the people coming in are checked to eliminate criminals, gang members, pedophiles, etc, and that the immigrants speak good English and have some level of saleable skills. What it's about right now is the politics of letting something like 11 million people who broke the law to come here get something close to a free pass on that. That the great bulk of Latino voters vote Democrat is of course an unrelated detail, certainly couldn't have anything to do with the enthusiasm that Democrat politicians have for an amnesty or a policy of a different name that is the same thing. Even Nancy Pelosi says that an Executive Order to make this happen will be challenged right up to the Supreme Court, but betting is that Mr. Obama will not let that stop him. So we all stand by to see what he does after November 6th. --Del)

By a Democrat: Why Illegal Aliens Are Hard on America and Why an Amnesty Will Not Help. By David North
Excerpt: A Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives — one of the few that might actually capture a GOP seat — phoned the other day to talk about immigration policy. Having once been in his shoes (long ago I was the Democratic candidate for the U.S. House in a GOP district), we talked for a while, and I told him I would expand on my views in writing. Hence this letter: Dear Candidate: Too many of us in the Democratic Party appear to be deaf to the feelings of the multitude of non-elite Americans on the question of immigration control. Too many of us have been soaked in the atmosphere of the Establishment, whose views of immigration policy are often dominant in policymaking, but whose views do not mesh with the silent majority, including probably a majority of those voting in your district. (Nice, simple discussion of illegals and reality and why an amnesty won't help. Actually, not only will it not help, it'll just make a bigger mess as of course the remaining millions of very poor in Mexico and points south will see that sneaking in here is really likely to work out well for them in the long run. --Del)

Sorry, Steve Running, Wildfires Are Decreasing with Global Warming. By James M. Taylor, managing editor of Environment & Climate News
Excerpt: A Billings Gazette article last week quoted University of Montana global warming activist Steve Running claiming major wildfires have quadrupled since 1986, but the facts show wildfires are actually declining.

Record Ice Coverage More Proof that Weather Still Exists Despite Obama's Attempt to Ban It. By John Ransom
Excerpt: No matter the circumstances, every weather event is blamed on global warming in an attempt to cover up Obama's nefarious plot failure. Cold temperature? Global warming. Hot temperatures? Global warming? Snow? Global warming. Drought? Global warming. Hurricanes, tornadoes or the lack thereof? Global warming. There was even an attempt by a ditzy news anchor on CNN—is there any other kind on CNN?-- to blame a meteorite on global warming.

U.S. Hits ISIS Position Near Baghdad in New Phase of Strikes: Official
Excerpt: The U.S. carried out an airstrike near Baghdad on Monday in what a defense official described to NBC News as the beginning of intensified action against ISIS militants in Iraq. U.S. attack aircraft hit an ISIS fighting position southwest of the capital in support of the Iraqi security forces, defense officials said. There was also at least one airstrike near Mount Sinjar in northwestern Iraq, the officials said.

Must Read: Islam’s Nightclub Brawl Jihadis from Britain are acting out a brutality learned at home. By Theodore Dalrymple (British Psychiatrist Anthony Daniels)
Excerpt: Youth, as everyone knows who has passed through it some time ago, is the age not of idealism but of self-importance, uncertainty masked by certitude and moral grandiosity untouched by experience of life — or, of course, the age of total insouciance. It is not surprising that ideology makes young men dangerous, for it is in the nature of ideology to answer all the difficult questions of human existence while giving believers the illusion of special understanding and destiny not available to others.

Exactly! ISIS Is Not a Threat. By Andy Weddington
Excerpt: Visit Hawaii; Alaska; California; Minnesota; TexasNorth Carolina; and domains abroad, Mr. President. Mark our territory. Intruders beware! Death awaits.

Response from a blog reader
When we finally engage ISIS on the ground, what do you think the rules of engagement will be? I bet they will not be in our favor, or will devolve to such when confronted with a human shield or mosque. --George

Worth Reading: Talk is still just talk. By Col. Donald J. Myers USMC (Ret)
Excerpt: On Wednesday night President Obama gave a national speech during prime time concerning his upcoming actions in dealing with the terrorist group ISIS. We will use additional air strikes in the area to include Syria. We also will send additional troops to train the Iraqi forces and the rebels fighting in Syria, but there will be no United States combat troops. I have enough combat experience and the study of war to know that air strikes will not defeat an enemy. World War II, Korea, and Vietnam support that premise. In addition, air strikes are most effective when they are controlled from the ground by troops in the area. Look what a handful of specially trained Americans did in Afghanistan when they decimated large enemy forces.

Great Column: The President Pushes Back: President Obama’s critics seem to be getting under his skin with their criticisms. But it appears the President doesn’t fully grasp the substance of his critics’ complaints about his leadership. By Walter Russell Mead
Excerpt: Most substantively, President Obama appears to be warning Syria’s Assad in no uncertain terms that if Syria fires on U.S. warplanes conducting strikes, the United States will crush his air defenses and leave him so weakened that his overthrow will be certain. That is a big deal; the legal position may be a bit dicey, but Obama is asserting the right of U.S. warplanes to conduct any and all operations they wish anywhere over Syrian territory. That is an ultimatum Dick Cheney could love, but it is also another red line drawn in the sands of the Middle East. As with all red lines, it gives the other side power; it is up to Assad rather than Obama now whether the war in Syria gets much bigger than originally planned. ... It is probably true that a lower profile by ISIS would have made it more difficult to win support for airstrikes in the United States and around the world, but that’s hardly the point. ISIS is a master of the pornography of politics and the pornography of perverted religion: slave girls, heads on spikes, executions uploaded to the internet, naked defiance in the face of its enemies.

Shorter Obama: If I were advising ISIS, I'd tell them not to execute Americans on video so I can keep pretending they aren't a threat to us.

Obama: if I was advising ISIS, I'd have them pin notes on hostages instead of beheading. Me: if you were advising ISIS, they'd be bankrupt.

So when do the liberal anti-war protests against Obama crank up now that he's going to war in Iraq AND Syria?

Great Column: Obama’s Sort-of War: In his view, the current debacle has nothing to do with his own errors and omissions. By Victor Davis Hanson
Excerpt: At times the secretary of defense seems at odds with the secretary of state. The administration seems not to be reacting to its own intelligence information about the Islamic State. Nor is it heeding the professional advice of the Joint Chiefs or top-ranking military officers in the field. Instead, in the run-up to the midterm elections, Obama appears to be guided largely by a stubborn adherence to his own past political truisms, and that explains the current inability to articulate a strategy or craft a coalition.

The Genocide of Mideastern Christians: Americans haven't suddenly turned interventionist. They're moved by the Islamic State's particular evil. By Peggy Noonan
Excerpt: President Obama would have been rocked the past few months by five things. One is the building criticism from left and right about his high need for relaxation – playing golf while the world burns. Another is that he misread the significance and public power of the beheadings of American journalists. Third, he has been way out of sync with American public opinion on Islamic State, which must be all the more galling because he thought he knew where Americans stood on the use of military force. Fourth, with his poll numbers declining (32% approval for his handling of foreign policy, according to The Wall Street Journal and NBC), it has probably occurred to him that he is damaging not only his own but his party’s brand in foreign affairs. (Yes, George W. Bush did the same to his party, but Mr. Obama was supposed to reverse, not follow, that trend.) Fifth, he surely expects he is about to take a pounding from the antiwar left.

ISIS Strikes Deal With Moderate Syrian Rebels
According to Agence France-Presse, ISIS and a number of moderate and hard-line rebel groups have agreed not to fight each other so that they can focus on taking down the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad. .... Moreover, the leader of the Free Syrian Army said Saturday that the group would not take part in U.S. plans for destroying the Islamic State until it got assurances on toppling Assad. The deal between ISIS and the moderate Syrian groups casts doubt over President Barack Obama’s freshly announced strategy to arm and train the groups against ISIS. (And once Assad is down, the FSA will get the chop from ISIS. Hard to feel sorry for them. Remember how the Chinese Communists and Nationalist agreed not to fight until Japan was defeated? The Communists built their strength, did little fighting against the Japanese and after Japan was defeated, so were the Nationalists. ~Bob)

Obama’s Coalition of the Uncertain. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: Unfortunately France is also about the only country in Obama’s coalition against ISIS. At least France appears to be the only country willing to commit militarily. Possibly the UK will join it, but after parliament turned down Cameron’s air strikes on Syria the last time around, that may be unlikely.

Islamic State Attracts Female Jihadis from US Heartland
http://jewishworldreview.com/0914/american_heartland_islamic_state.php3
Excerpt: At least three Somali families in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area have female relatives who have gone missing in the past six weeks and may have tried to join Islamic State, said community leader Abdirizak Bihi. ... While foreign women who join Islamic State often envision aiding a holy war or at least playing an active role in establishing a purist Islamic nation, the reality can be more mundane. Monitoring of extremists' social media accounts and other writings shows that male jihadis regard women counterparts as little more than mating partners, said Mia Bloom, from the Center for Terrorism and Security Studies at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Lebanese Christians Take Up Arms for Stand Against ISIS as Refugees Flood Across Border
http://freedomoutpost.com/2014/09/lebanese-christians-take-arms-stand-isis-refugees-flood-across-border-2/
Excerpt: As the militant Islamists of ISIS make their way across Iraq, Syria and the Levant, Lebanese Christians are preparing to take a stand against them.

Excerpt: “Do you know what happens when I go into a Shi’ite home?” Henin recalled Nemmouche asking him one day. “First, there’s the grandmother — I only use one bullet on her, she’s not worth more — then the wife. First, I rape her, then I cut her throat.” According to Henin — who was held for some time with James Foley, an American journalist murdered by Islamic State — Nemmouche continued: “Then I come to the baby. Ah, a baby! You cannot imagine the pleasure you get from cutting off a baby’s head.”

Obama Diplomacy: Iran won’t join U.S. in Islamic State fight
Excerpt: Iran on Monday spurned an American request for cooperation in the fight against Islamic State militants, but the United States said the door remains open to a rare opportunity to make common cause with its principal adversary in the Middle East. Iran’s rebuff came as world powers meeting in the French capital agreed to use “any means necessary” to combat the militant force surging in Iraq and Syria. (just because we delayed their getting nukes, they won't play. and I doubt the Europeans really mean "any means necessary." ~Bob)

Iran Commander: White House Is ISIL Headquarters
Excerpt: An Iranian military official says the United States has created the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group in line with its plots to sow discord in the Middle East. Commander of Iran’s Basij volunteer force Mohammad Reza Naqdi said on Saturday, “The White House is the headquarters of the ISIL.” Washington itself created the “cancerous tumor and devious current” of ISIL in the region, the Iranian official said. (Wouldn't it be nice if the administration was that competent? ~Bob)

Quran (8:12) – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads”

I'd bet this quote is bogus, as it sounds too current to me, though it appears on many websites, such as the "Quotes of Non Muslim Thinkers" below. It does not appear in the next piece, which seems well researched, and I don't find it on the various legit quote sites. ~Bob

Quotes of Non Muslim Thinkers on Islam/Religion

Worth Reading: Was Marco Polo an 'Islamophobe'? A Study in Continuity. By Raymond Ibrahim
Excerpt: This is the question I often ask myself whenever I read pre-modern writings on Islam. Take that elementary schoolbook hero, Marco Polo and his famous memoirs, for example. By today's standards, the 13th century Venetian merchant would be denounced as a rabid "Islamophobe." For me, however, his writings contain a far more important lesson — one in continuity — and deserve closer scrutiny.

Obama vs. the generals. By Marc A. Thiessen
Excerpt: Pity poor Gen. Lloyd Austin, top commander of U.S. forces in the Middle East. Rarely has a U.S. general given his commander in chief better military advice, only to see it repeatedly rejected. In 2010, Gen. Austin advised President Obama against withdrawing all U.S. forces from Iraq, recommending that the president instead leave 24,000 U.S. troops (down from 45,000) to secure the military gains made in the surge and prevent a terrorist resurgence. Had Obama listened to Austin’s counsel, the rise of the Islamic State could have been stopped.

Worth Reading: A Million Steps with Marines: What lessons can we learn from the 3rd Platoon’s experience in Afghanistan?
Excerpt: Sangin symbolizes Afghanistan: brave troops pursuing a bad strategy. We lost more British and American troops in Sangin than in any other district. I embedded with 3rd Platoon, where each Marine patrolled three miles a day, taking a total of 1 million steps across minefields during their six-month tour. Half of them didn’t make it. What was the purpose? For ten years, the goal in Sangin was to open the road for installing a new turbine at a hydroelectric dam. That never happened. Our top command insisted the Marines conduct a “nation building” strategy while conceding to the enemy a vast sanctuary in nearby Pakistan. Hardened jihadists kept flowing in from Pakistan to kill the Marines. (Bing West has written another classic book on Marines at war. But this interview is great, he lays out the truth about war and where we are today and what we need to be doing. A good read and very thought provoking. Maybe Bing should be running for office somewhere. --Del)

Confident From Syria, Hizballah Considering Attacking Israel
Excerpt: Hizballah plans to dispatch scores of terrorists into Israel while striking civilian communities with missiles in a future war that could last months, a senior Israeli source told reporters. The terrorist organization's confidence grew, based on experience gained from its military intervention in Syria on behalf of dictator Bashar al-Assad. That, the Israeli military official believes, has the group considering going on the offensive. A pre-emptive Israeli ground operation could prevent such incursions.

PHOTOS: NYC Muslim Day Parade 2014 Pro-Terror March
Excerpt: Today was the annual Muslim day parade, where Muslims take over Madison Avenue and convert it to an outdoor mosque. It is always scheduled near the anniversary day of September 11 — takbir! These marches are always controversial (more here). The theme of the parade was advertised as Islam and America’s shared common values. But it was anything but. It was a political parade in support of terrorists in Egypt and Gaza. There was a lot of anti-Jewish propaganda — the flags of annihilation coupled with outrageous pro-terror Muslim Brotherhood propaganda.

How the Left Gave U.K. Girls to Muslim Rape Gangs
Excerpt: Below is a video of a Select Committee hearing that unveils the shocking details of how police sacrificed 1,400 girls’ lives in Rotherham on the altar of political correctness. The video shows the Police Commissioner being questioned about why, among many things, the UK police found a 11-year-girl being sexually abused by Muslim men and charged the girl for being drunk under age and did nothing to the Muslim men.

“Boko Haram Now Control Swath of Land as Large as Ireland.” By AWR Hawkins
Excerpt: Boko Haram has control of a swath of land the size of Ireland and the group's leader, Abubakar Shekau, says he will rule the land as a caliphate in a fashion similar to ISIS's Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Confusion over "Jihad." By Burak Bekdil
Excerpt: Although it is a common male name in Turkish (Cihat), the Turks, and apparently many others too, have a confused mind about the Arabic word "jihad." Most Turks have felt contempt for "the jihadist terrorists" of al-Qaeda. They feel the same for the "jihadist/Salafist" Islamic State that captured large swathes of Syrian and Iraqi territory this summer, and took hostage 49 Turks, including the consul general, at their consulate compound in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on June 11. At the same time, thousands of Turks identified themselves as "jihadists," just like the IS's men, when they took to the streets to protest Palestinian casualties and attack Israeli diplomatic missions in July and August.

Obama Sending Aid To Islamic Schools: Studies identified as 'recitation and memorization' of Quran
Excerpt: A portion of the $120 million the Obama administration is infusing into Nigerian education programs fund Islamic schools that exclusively teach students “the recitation and memorization” of the Quran, government documents reveal.

Brendan Tevlin's murder evidence that 'domestic terrorism is already here,' says radio host
Excerpt: A New York radio personality is calling for increased attention to the June murder of a 19-year-old Livingston man, calling it evidence that “domestic terrorism is already here.” Todd Pettengill, host of WPLJ’s “The Todd Show”, discussed the death of Brendan Tevlin for more than eight minutes this morning, asking why the case has not received more attention despite the alleged murderer’s admissions that he killed Tevlin as an act of vengeance for U.S. military actions in the Middle East. (Kid was a piper. ~Bob)

British-Iranian woman imprisoned for trying to watch men's volleyball game in Tehran
Excerpt: A British woman has been in an Iranian prison for more than two months for trying to watch a men's volleyball match. Ghoncheh Ghavami, 25, was arrested along with more than a dozen women as they tried to enter a stadium where the Iranian national men's team was playing Italy on 20 June.

Un Responsible For Civilian Deaths In Gaza. Refused To Help Move Civilians Out Of Harms Way.
Excerpt: The UN directly contributed to the death of Palestinian civilians during the Gaza war. Arutz Sheva reports that a UN official admitted Israel sought the UN's help in clearing neighborhoods of civilians in advance of imminent Israeli operations directed at military targets embedded in those civilian neighborhoods - and the UN refused.

Women’s rights activist speaks out at Yale against Muslim ‘indoctrination’
Excerpt: Ayaan Hirsi Ali, known worldwide for her crusade on behalf of women’s rights in Muslim regions, brought her message to Yale University Monday night and received a standing ovation at the end of her talk. (The charm of this piece is watching Beach poorly negotiate the politically correct path between two perceived victim groups...women and Muslims, and in this case a woman oppressed by Islam and speaking out against it. This is the shot across the bow of the looming multiculturalist train wreck we are all waiting to watch. George)

Controversial DHS Adviser Let Go Amid Allegations of Cover Up: Elibiary let go after extremist rhetoric, claims he improperly used classified docs. By Adam Kredo

Excerpt: Media outlets have raised questions about the circumstances surrounding his departure, speculating that his provocative comments about the “inevitable” return of the Muslim “caliphate” may have played a role. New documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon indicate that Elibiary had no choice in the matter, and that he may have been let go by DHS in order to minimize the fallout from an investigation into allegations that he improperly accessed and used classified materials obtained with his security clearance.
