Again, they come up with something I never would have thought possible for anyone with an operating brain to think of. First off, it's a municipal union with a contract, that will perhaps complicate things just a tad. But abolishing the police department to create.... what? A department of nicely dressed, very courteous and friendly "helpers" for the citizenry? Who will deal somehow with robberies, burglaries, assaults, murders, rapes, domestic abuse, drug trafficking, etc, with no use of batons, Tasers, guns, handcuffs, etc? A group made up entirely of people from each neighborhood so they match up perfectly with the local population in every way? Does that mean more women than men, and will past activities like say, therft, drugs, or violence, not be barriers to joining? I really can't wait to see how this works out! But I'd advise store owners and homeowners to go out now and buy some nice defensive firearms and start practicing with them. --Del
