Debunking White Privilege: The Economic Reality
Do native born Black Americans as an overall group have less income, less home ownership, more contact with crime, fewer opportunities, than most other Americans? Yes, I am sure that's true. But that's due mainly to the subgroup who live in poor Black areas in big cities, where education is not valued and family structure is often lacking, and a subculture of drugs and violence exists. Middle and upper class Black Americans with education and family structure do quite well, even though they too face the remaining undercurrent of racism we still have. What exists is much more of a social problem than a racial one, and as such it's not subject to being fixed just by condemning racism. --Del
