Donald Trump owes part of his rise to white identity politics,
in the form of the Alt.Right, white supremacists and other groups. But that have
gained prominence and supporters as a reaction to several decades of
progressives cynically seeking power by playing black identity polices. They
long ago abandoned the dream of a color blind society, and every action has a
reaction. They helped create Trumpism.
