A lot of "worth reading" news today

Update

I told Santa all I wanted was 6 extra hours a day for the rest of December. Apparently I've been bad--no luck so far. Having trouble getting through everything, including email, so posts are delayed. I have about 60 unread emails, but need to post what I have had time to pull.

Tuesday afternoon, I called the Transplant Coordinator at the VA and told her I thought I needed an eye appointment, as my cataracts were getting worse. I assumed maybe in January. Wednesday morning they called while I was on the way to rehab. My appointment was for 1:30 pm that afternoon. Damn VA with their appointment delays--took almost 24 hours. But I figured on an hour and it took three. They will schedule surgery on my left eye which is 20/70 with glasses (the right is still 20/30 with the glasses--they operate after 20/50 corrected). Also getting me new glasses which will help a little. Also giving me drops as the pressure is high, but no glaucoma and the retinue is healthy.

Went shooting with a friend Tuesday morning who is a retired deputy. Not happy with the heavy trigger pull on my gun--I'm too weak now days. On the other hand, at 15" I had them all in a circle about 12" wide center of chest on the silhouette. Not trophy shooting, but not bad given my eyes and the tremble in my hands (from the drugs, like the cataracts).

Thursday morning I had a call from "The US Government Grants Department." The caller, Sylvia, had a hard to understand accent, but I gather the government had randomly selected me to receive $9,280, which was tax free and wouldn't have to be paid back. I said I'd call her back. she gave me the umber 253-295-XXXX. My winning code was GG1102. That's a Washington State area code, but I can't find the reverse number. I didn't call. I wonder how any people are stupid enough to fall for whatever scam this is. ~Bob

Book Recommendation: Apprentices of War: Memoir of a Marine Grunt. By Gary L. Tornes
This is an excellent memoir of a Marine infantryman in Vietnam. It has the ring of pure truth to me. Unlike most memoirs, Tornes doesn't leave out things that don't make him look good. I'm a marine Vietnam vet, but I was more fortunate than Tornes in that I spent part of my tour on Okinawa, that I was a Radio relay Team chief, and that my time at Khe Sanh in 1967, including a month in the Ville TAD to the CAC unit, was fairly quiet. You will understand why the grunts are held in high regard by all Marines. I saw on the flyleaf that Tornes lived in Wisconsin, so I Googled him. Alas. I found his obit. He died in 2010 at 64. But he had 47 years after he cheated death in Vietnam. I'm sorry I can't get to buy him a drink. The book, published in 2004, appears to be out of print, but used/library copies are available.

Worth Seeing: Law Enforcement

Color Analysis Of The "Painting" Feinstein Sketching The Senate Detain/Interrogate Investigation Report. By Andy Weddington
Excerpt: With an education in behavioral psychology; 26+ years of professional practice (leading Marines and Sailors); and a lifetime seriously pursuing the fine art of painting; the following color analysis is presented - in living color..

Worth reading: America Continues to Thrive. Even in its current malaise, the U.S. still soars above the global competition. By Victor Davis Hanson
Excerpt: Germany’s first chancellor, Otto von Bismarck, supposedly once said that there was “a special providence for drunkards, fools, and the United States of America.” Apparently, late 19th-century observers could not quite explain how the U.S. thrived when by logic it should not. That paradox has never been more true than today. (Reckoning Day is coming. ~Bob)

5 Sure Signs the U.S. Economy is Finished
Excerpt: And the fact is, the gap between high- and low-income groups is the widest it has been in 100 years and the share of U.S. consumers who call themselves middle class has never been lower. But those aren't the only signs the economy isn't all that it's cracked up be. In fact, there are five unmistakable signs the U.S. Economy is teetering on the brink.

Unions Fume As Wisconsin GOP Weighs 'Right-to-Work' Law. By Guy Benson
Excerpt: Now that he's been handed his third mandate in four years, Walker has a decision to make: Will he follow the lead of Republicans in the state legislature and champion a right-to-work law? The governor has labeled the initiative "a distraction," but hasn't ruled out signing a bill if it ends up on his desk.

Is Law Optional? By Thomas Sowell
Excerpt: The fiasco of "Rolling Stone" magazine's apology for an unsubstantiated claim of gang rape at a University of Virginia fraternity house -- and the instant rush to judgment of the university administration in shutting down all fraternities, when those charges were made -- should warn us about the dangers of having serious legal issues dealt with by institutions with no qualifications for that role. Rape is a crime. It belongs in a criminal justice courtroom. And those found guilty belong behind bars for a long time.

Wealthy musicians, athletes exploit tax loopholes to drive up rates for rest of us. Watchdog senator’s report raises questions about Kanye West, Lady Gaga tax-exempt foundations
Excerpt: The tax code is so peppered with special giveaways that companies such as Facebook end up getting refunds, and high-profile athletes and artists use their tax-free foundations to give friends jobs while avoiding taxes — all leading to higher income tax rates for the rest of us, Sen. Tom Coburn charges in a new report being released Tuesday.

Warren Forgets Who Created Subprime Mortgages. From The Patriot Post
Barbie of the Left, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), told a group of Democrat donors in the Boston area that the subprime mortgage crisis unfairly "targeted" minority families looking to buy a home. She also lambasted what she saw as an unholy alliance between Wall Street and government, with people moving from -- in leftist eyes -- the evil corporate banks into government work, tainting the vaulted work of orchestrating plebeians' lives. Politico reports, "She ascribed some of the problem to a worsening climate of economic opportunity for African-Americans than existed even a decade ago, according to attendees. And she said that the mortgage crisis affected black and Hispanic families more heavily, describing those groups as being 'targeted.'" Warren neglected to mention those subprime mortgages were created by the government -- Democrats, in particular -- and then the government forced banks to adopt risky lending practices as a way to encourage minority homeownership. So were minorities "targeted"? Absolutely. By Democrats.

‘Narrative Journalism’ Is Leaving Wreckage, Pain, and Tragedy in Its Wake. By Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt
What makes “narrative journalism” different from, say, factual journalism is that narrative journalism is determined to tell you a very simple, one-sided morality tale with a hero and a villain, or a victim and a villain. Trayvon Martin was a good kid walking home with Skittles, and George Zimmerman was Yosemite Sam. Michael Brown was a “gentle giant” and Darren Wilson was a racist, trigger-happy cop. The Rolling Stone story featured a young girl and these monsters at a fraternity alongside callous, heartless university administrators. And anything that gets in the way of that narrative gets ignored or downplayed. And the audience or readership comes to believe that this is a slam dunk, that it’s obvious what happened. The difference is that life isn’t a one-sided narrative. At some point, that other side of the story either comes to light or impacts events. Inside a jury room, all of those contrary pieces of evidence get aired. Grand jurors see a very different story than the folks who watch Al Sharpton’s show, and thus they come to a decision that to that audience is absolutely unthinkable.

Worth Reading: Lying for the Cause: If myths do more for social progress than facts — then why worry? By Victor Davis Hanson
Excerpt: From the details of Rigoberta MenchĂș’s memoir, to Tawana Brawley’s supposed rape, to the O. J. “If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit” myth, to the open-and-shut case of the hate-crime crucifixion of Matthew Shepard by savage homophobes, to Dan Rather’s fake but accurate National Guard memo, to the Duke lacrosse team’s supposed racist raping, to Barack Obama’s autobiographic interludes with his girlfriend, to Scott Beauchamp’s “true” stories of American military atrocities in Iraq, to Lena Dunham’s purported right-wing sexual assaulter at Oberlin College (home of the 2013 epidemic of pseudo-racist graffiti), to the pack of University of Virginia fraternity rapists on the loose, to “Hands up, don’t shoot,” we have come to appreciate that facts and truth are not that important, if myths can better serve social progress or the careers of those on the correct side of history. (My brother in high school had a poster quoting Hitler calling for "Law and Order." When I pointed out the quote was bogus, he said, "well, he could have said it." But conservatives do it as well I receive all sorts of lies about Obama. I try to screen them out, as they discredit our side. The senders choose not to believe refutations on say, snopes.com, saying it's a liberal site, despite it exposing many lies about Sarah Palin by the left, among others. ~Bob)

In the states, the GOP is in its best position since the Great Depression. By Aaron Blake
Excerpt: State legislatures: Republicans control more than 4,100 out of 7,383 seats -- about 56 percent. That's their highest since 1920, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. They also control 69 out of the 99 state legislative chambers (including Nebraska, which is technically nonpartisan and has only one chamber, but which is for all intents and purposes under GOP control) -- the highest since at least 1900, which is the oldest data NCSL has.

'Horses need jobs too': New York horse carriage drivers protest proposed ban. In top hats and uniforms, carriage drivers objected that a bill to take horses off city streets would destroy 300 jobs and lead to depression for working horses
Excerpt: “Go green with real horsepower,” read one sign. “Share the road, horses paved the way,” read another. “Clip clop clip clop, the ban on horses has to stop,” rhymed another picket sign. (Libs ask, "Do horses belong in NYC traffic?" Well, do bicyclists or motorcycles belong in NYC traffic? Do pedestrians belong in NYC traffic? How about drunks, stoned, psychopaths, homeless and those wearing signs saying the end of the world is at hand? Do they belong in NYC traffic? Who gets to be in NYC traffic? Those with the Mark of DB? --Barb)

Delays plague Hillary Clinton's State Dept. files
Excerpt: The State Department is among the U.S. government's worst-performing federal agencies under the Freedom of Information Act. There is no direct evidence that political considerations in a Democratic presidential administration have delayed the release of files about the party's leading contender for 2016. But the agency's delays, unusual even by government standards, have stoked perceptions about what could be taking so long. (Emphasis added. This is currently the #1 story in HuffPo’s online news. As often as AP has supported the Democrats in general and the Clintons in particular, someone there at AP must be really upset to go public like this. One of the requests has been pending since 2010. Too bad the House of Representatives can’t get this sort of attention from HuffPo when documents are withheld from it. --Ron P.)

Congressional leaders hammer out deal to allow pension plans to cut retiree benefits. By Michael A. Fletcher
Excerpt: A measure that would for the first time allow the benefits of current retirees to be severely cut is set to be attached to a massive spending bill, part of an effort to save some of the nation’s most distressed pension plans. The rule would alter 40 years of federal law and could affect millions of workers, many of them part of a shrinking corps of middle-income employees in businesses such as trucking, construction and supermarkets.

When Jew-hatred comes to America. By Vic Rosenthal
Excerpt: At the end of the 19th century, Theodore Herzl and Max Nordau realized that Jews had no future in Europe. They understood that enlightenment and emancipation hadn’t put an end to Jew-hatred, and progressive politics wouldn’t either. Europe, they saw, gave the Jewish people two options: total assimilation or death (and later history showed that even assimilation wouldn’t save them). The catastrophe that actually befell the Jews of Europe was more severe than Herzl had imagined in his worst nightmares. The Jewish state that he inspired ultimately came to be, as he accurately predicted, but unfortunately it happened too late to save most of the European Jews.

You're Just a Cop. For what it's worth.
Excerpt: Our Law Enforcement Officers are being murdered as well as laying down their lives on duty every 58 hours. They are being shot while sitting at traffic lights. Executed in coffee shops and on their lunch breaks. Lured into ambushes and blown away while removing debris from the roadway, or while responding to an alarm call which was a set up. They are being killed in their own driveways, while off duty. They are being shot inside their own precincts. If celebrities or professional athletes were being targeted, shot and murdered to the tune of one dead every 58 hours there would be an instant demand for answers and protection. There would be a national cry to stop the violence before it impacted reality TV or sports center. (Can't really add too much to this other than there is a lot of hatred for law enforcement out there, and it's not all coming from African Americans. --MasterGuns)

Worth Reading: U-Va. students challenge Rolling Stone account of alleged sexual assault. By T. Rees Shapiro, Washington Post
Excerpt: The three students agreed to be interviewed on the condition that The Post use the same aliases that appeared in Rolling Stone because of the sensitivity of the subject. They said there are mounting inconsistencies with the original narrative in the magazine. The students also expressed suspicions about Jackie’s allegations from that night. They said the name she provided as that of her date did not match anyone at the university, and U-Va. officials confirmed to The Post that no one by that name has attended the school. (How in the name of Tawana Brawley can Rolling Stone quote people without contacting them? -- Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt)

The "77 Cents on the Dollar" Myth
Excerpt: According to the BLS, full-time female workers made just 82.1 percent of the median weekly earnings of comparable male workers in 2013. What's responsible for that wage gap? It's not discrimination, says Perry. He delves into the details of the BLS report, first noting that men tend to work more hours than women. Of full-time workers (those working at least 35 hours per week), just 14.3 percent of women worked at least 41 hours in 2013, compared to 25.5 percent of men. Similarly, 6.3 percent of men worked 60-hour weeks, compared to just 2.7 percent of women. By comparing women who work 40-hour weeks to men who work 40-hour weeks, women actually earn 89.6 percent of male earnings. Age plays another role: comparing workers between the ages of 25 and 34, women actually earn 89.4 percent of what comparable male workers earn.

Cruz: "Our Friends No Longer Trust Us and Our Enemies No Longer Fear Us." By Daniel Doherty
Excerpt: “We’re gathered here today to talk about one of the greatest resources that America’s traditionally enjoyed, which is the power of friendships across the globe,” he began.
“One of the sad legacies we’ve seen over the last six years is the fraying of friendships and alliances across the world,” he continued. “Today, the consequences of the Obama/Clinton foreign policy is that our friends no longer trust us and our enemies no longer fear us. That is profoundly dangerous for America and is profoundly dangerous for the world.”

57,000 Businesses Have Now Put Up This Sign… And Liberals Are Going Crazy

Obama--gun salesman of the century: Growing Public Support for Gun Rights. More Say Guns Do More to Protect Than Put People at Risk
Excerpt: For the first time in more than two decades of Pew Research Center surveys, there is more support for gun rights than gun control. Currently, 52% say it is more important to protect the right of Americans to own guns, while 46% say it is more important to control gun ownership. (I know a woman I always through of as a liberal who carries concealed. ~Bob0

Wisconsin Police Chief Wants Residents to Voluntarily Have Their Homes Searched for Guns
Excerpt:  In an effort to “raise awareness” of “gun violence,” the police chief in Beloit, Wisconsin is asking residents to voluntarily subject their homes to police searches in order to locate guns. How does this exactly “raise awareness?” I have no idea, but the police chief seems to think it’s a good idea. I think it’s just an excuse to search people’s homes. Maybe it’s a training exercise. (Sorta like the Nazis. --JB).

Interesting: Conversation with a black lady
Blog Comment on this post: You would perhaps appreciate this, then. Years ago, at a Boston hospital where I worked, I was once sitting in a lounge area with a new hire from Poland. Well, a black employee there begins in on the "you whites - slavery - you don't understand" rant. The Pole, Jurek, waits until he has wound down, then replies calmly that Poles have been enslaved and re-enslaved for well over a thousand years. And concluded with, "You blacks are amateurs." --Christopher

Worth Reading: 11 Law Enforcement Officers Killed. By Chuck Norris
Excerpt: -"New York City has lost more officers in the line of duty than any other department, with 697 deaths. Texas has lost 1,675 officers, more than any other state." In fact, while citizens have been rallying in Ferguson, Missouri, and New York, in just the past month, a dozen cops have been killed across our country by murderous thugs or unfortunate accidents in the line of duty.

Eric Garner’s Widow Answers Whether Death Was a ‘Black and White Thing,’ Says What Nobody Else Will
Excerpt: In a session with Meet the Press, Esaw Garner laid it all out in a brave interview that went against the popular narrative. She stated that her husband’s death is not “a black and white thing,” but that she felt he was murdered unjustly. Similar sentiments were already asserted by NY Daily News, which reported last week that the NYPD officer who applied the choke hold was overseen by a black sergeant.

Democrat Calls Ben Carson Supporters “Ignorant” and “Like a Lynch Mob”
Excerpt: If you ever needed evidence that liberals HATE black conservatives, Rep. Hank Johnson should be proof enough. In an interview with Michael Smerconish of the Michael Smerconish Show, he said some pretty inflammatory things about Ben Carson, his supporters and other black conservatives. (He's got to be delusional. --JB)

Obamacare/Government Healthcare News

Worth Reading: I’m an Obama supporter. But Obamacare has hurt my family. Obamacare has been far more frustrating than I’d ever dreamed. By Catherine Keefe, Washington Post
Excerpt: I was elated — for Jim’s survival and for Obama’s victory. I looked forward to one of Obama’s major campaign promises: to provide national healthcare reform so Americans with a pre-existing condition could get insurance. ... As it happened, the 2008 election was the first time Jim and I were bitterly divided on candidates. Jim foresaw healthcare reform as an addition to the federal deficit more worrisome than any health benefit.

Worth Reading: What’s in the spending bill? We skim it so you don’t have to. By Ed O'Keefe
Excerpt: The bill once again bans using federal funding to perform most abortions; blocks the use of local and federal funding for abortions in the District of Columbia; and blocks the use of federal dollars for abortions for federal prisoners. Republicans say that there's also new language directing the secretary of health and human services to ensure that consumers shopping for health-care coverage on the federal exchange can tell whether a plan covers abortion services. ... The law is still funded, but there's no new money for it. There's also no new ACA-related funding for the Internal Revenue Service and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the two agencies most responsible for implementing the law. The bill also would cut the budget of the Independent Payment Advisory Board -- what Republicans have called "the death panel" -- by $10 million. (I know we want Congressional Republicans to get rid of Obamacare, including perhaps by defunding the mechanisms that make the law work. But whittling down IPAB is a decent start. --Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt)

The Gruberization of the Democratic Party. By Ed Rogers, Washington Post
Excerpt: After all, remember that then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) famously told us we had to wait until the law passed to find out what was in it. Well, in that regard, she is right. Obamacare does appear to be the gift that keeps on giving. We just keep finding out more and more about the law’s harsh consequences. Most recently, we have seen how Obamacare disincentivizes the practice of medicine and how this affects doctors in America. An AP story included the fact that already, “Nearly 1 in 5 Americans lives in a region designated as having a shortage of primary care physicians, and the number of doctors entering the field isn’t expected to keep pace with demand.”

Obamacare's Destruction of Primary Care Doctors Continues. By Katie Pavlich
Excerpt: Before Obamacare was pushed through Congress in 2010 by Democrats unwilling to consider opposition voices to the legislation, conservatives and doctors repeatedly warned the bill would destroy the ability for physicians to properly function inside a government controlled system. Those warnings went unheeded and now patients and those in need of medical care are experiencing even less access to primary care doctors specifically assigned to them under new healthcare regulations. ... A survey this year by The Physicians Foundation found that 81 percent of doctors describe themselves as either over-extended or at full capacity, and 44 percent said they planned to cut back on the number of patients they see, retire, work part-time or close their practice to new patients.

Another Lawsuit Challenging Obamacare
Excerpt: Among the many lawsuits challenging Obamacare is Coons v. Lew, a case contending the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) -- a creation of the Affordable Care Act -- is unconstitutional. IPAB is a 15-person board whose job is to make recommendations to keep Medicare costs down. Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) and Congressman Phil Roe (R-Tenn.) explain how the board works: . .. The plaintiffs in Coons v. Lew have asked the Supreme Court to hear their case, calling IPAB "a group of unelected and unaccountable administrative officials who exercise an unprecedented amount of unchecked authority over the health care industry."

The Little Sisters of the Poor Just Fought Another Battle Against the Obamacare Mandate
Excerpt: Today the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver will hear oral argument in the Little Sisters of the Poor’s challenge to the Obamacare abortion-inducing drug mandate “accommodation.” The case, made famous by Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s injunction almost one year ago, challenges an “accommodation” the Obama administration has offered to religious non-profit organizations allowing them to avoid directly providing or paying for healthcare coverage of potentially life-ending drugs and devices.

Lots of issues polled--worth reading: Bloomberg Poll: Heavy Public Opposition to Obama's Executive Amnesty. By Guy Benson
Excerpt: As for Obama’s decision to take executive action to give some illegal immigrants temporary legal status, 56 percent say they don’t approve, while 39 percent are okay with it and 5 percent aren’t sure.

Obama Makes Up Bible Verse To Justify Immigration Power-Grab
Excerpt: He said the following in Nashville yesterday, while ineptly defending his completely unconstitutional executive amnesty: “I think the good book says don’t throw stones in glass houses” Obama says. #um This is a new level of dishonest narcissism, even for Obama: Shut up and let him do whatever he wants, because God said so. ("Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me." 10 Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]” Mathew4:1-11 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+4:1-11 --Barb)

"You're Greener than Gore" News

Obama's Epic Climate Change Deal With China Falls Apart
Excerpt: Remember a few weeks ago, when Barack Obama triumphantly declared a deal with China to cut greenhouse gas emissions? We expressed deep skepticism at the time. As it turns out, our skepticism was warranted. When Obama struck his epic climate deal with Chinese President Xi Jinping, we suggested the American leader was engaged in self-delusion while the Chinese were laughing at us. Nothing would stop China from moving full speed ahead with its economic development plans that rely heavily on cheap and abundant fossil fuels. (I wondered how long it would take for the fantastic progress Mr. Obama had made with China, for the sake of the planet, to fall apart. Not long at all, it seems. It's gone completely to pieces already, and that has been noticed by people elsewhere, see the Reuters article. This has always been about extorting money from the "bad guys" who have been burning fuels in higher quantity until recently, which of course is the USA and other Western industrialized nations. People don't seem to realize that in effect, this is China and India and others saying "if you want us to go along with the idea of reducing emissions, you have to pay for it". When if they really believed in the need to reduce emissions, they'd be as eager as the believers in the West to do it on their own. But no, what they want are many billions, trillions really, from the USA and EU, to fund the buildup of their own power grid and industrial base. While they, please remember, have been creating ecological disasters of huge proportions in their own nations, the pollution in China has reached levels that make the LA smog days look like a walk in the park. Truth is, the best thing the West can do is leave them alone and take care of our own needs and capacities, and absolutely don't hamstring our own industries and national finances by paying extortion to these very polished gangsters. --Del. The deal was a success. Obama got the photo ops and the worshipful stories in the kneepad media. ~Bob)

Religion of Peace News

Obama’s foreign policy plans collide with wars abroad and politics at home
Excerpt: Within hours of the report’s release Tuesday, Obama and one of his most trusted advisers released what appeared to be dueling statements about its conclusions. The president said the Senate Intelligence Committee’s investigation had revealed actions “contrary to our values.” His CIA director, John Brennan, countered that the same techniques had helped “save lives.”

Despite Report, Voters Still See Value in CIA Interrogation Tactics
Excerpt: On the heels of the Senate’s scathing report on the Central Intelligence Agency’s interrogation practices, nearly half of U.S. voters are in favor of the harsh tactics used and think they elicited valuable information that helped the United States. Forty-seven percent (47%) of Likely U.S. Voters believe waterboarding and other aggressive interrogation techniques should be used to gain information from suspected terrorists.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney laid into the Senate Intelligence Committee's report on CIA interrogations Wednesday, calling the "deeply flawed" report a "terrible piece of work," and concluding that it's "full of crap." He asserted the CIA's enhanced techniques, such as waterboarding, provided actionable intelligence that proved "vital in the success of keeping the country safe from further attacks." For example, he said, "We've got Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who was the mastermind of 9/11, who has killed 3,000 Americans, taken down the World Trade Center, hit the Pentagon, would have taken out the White House or the Capitol building if, in fact, it hadn't been for the passengers on United 93. He is in our possession, we know he's the architect, and what are we supposed to do? Kiss him on both cheeks and say, 'Please, please tell us what you know?' Of course not. We did exactly what we needed to do to catch those who were guilty on 9/11 and to prevent a further attack, and we were successful on both parts." The most important question, Cheney argued, is this: "What are you prepared to do to get the truth against future attacks against the United States?" On that score, he concluded, "The CIA did one hell of a job."

As US tears itself apart over torture of terrorists, let's just remember who we're up against: ISIS throws man off roof to his death for being gay – and strings up ‘rapists’ in the streets

The Real Islam: Islamic State releases pamphlet justifying sex slavery of infidel women. By Robert Spencer, JihadWatch.org
Excerpt: The seizure of Infidel girls and their use as sex slaves is sanctioned in the Qur’an. According to Islamic law, Muslim men can take “captives of the right hand” (Qur’an 4:3, 4:24, 33:50). The Qur’an says: “O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war” (33:50). 4:3 and 4:24 extend this privilege to Muslim men in general. The Qur’an says that a man may have sex with his wives and with these slave girls: “The believers must (eventually) win through, those who humble themselves in their prayers; who avoid vain talk; who are active in deeds of charity; who abstain from sex, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess, for (in their case) they are free from blame.” (Qur’an 23:1-6) The rape of captive women is also sanctioned in Islamic tradition:

6 Guantanamo detainees transferred to Uruguay were part of al Qaeda's network, files allege
Excerpt: The Defense Department announced on Dec. 7 that six Guantanamo detainees had been transferred to Uruguay. Four of the six are citizens of Syria, one is a Tunisian, and the sixth is from the Palestinian-controlled territories. In its final recommendations, issued in January 2010, President Obama's Guantanamo Review Task Force recommended that all six be transferred "to a country outside the United States that will implement appropriate security measures."

Iran and US Fighting On Same Side Rattles Israeli Defense Officials. By Yaakov Lappin
Excerpt: Confirmation that Iran has joined the air campaign against Islamic State (IS) terrorists in Syria won muted praise from U.S. officials last week. And that development has increased anxiety among Israeli defense officials that budding cooperation between Tehran and Washington will lead to dangerous comprises about Iran's nuclear program and inadequate action confronting the Islamic Republic's global terrorist network.

ISIS Cites Quran for Slavery, Mistreatment of Female Slaves & Child Rape. By Tim Brown
Excerpt: In a newly released pamphlet on female slaves, answers are given as to whether female slaves can be beaten, raped and released or not. The fact that the ideology of Islam promotes slavery is revolting enough, but then to push the idea of raping them, including those who are pre-puberty, is even more devilish. Among the questions asked was whether or not female slaves that had not reached puberty could be raped. Excerpt: The victims were murdered by people who believed themselves to be acting in accord with the texts and teachings of Islam, at a time when Western leaders and mainstream media demand that everyone believe that this has nothing to do with Islam, and brands you a “bigot” and a “racist” if you dare think otherwise. This willful ignorance and complacency hinders our ability to deal with this problem realistically, which essentially ensures that we will one day look back on the carnage of November 2014 as the good old days when there was peace.

Trey Gowdy’s select committee on the attack, a new timeline emerges that puts the video in Secretary Clinton’s hands.
