Update
Excerpt: Seventy-three years ago today we were “suddenly and
deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan” leading
to our ultimate involvement in the war which the rest of the world had been
fighting for more than two years. Wiki records

Cassidy defeats
Landrieu in Louisiana
Senate runoff

on Saturday when Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy easily defeated Democratic Sen.
Mary Landrieu in a runoff election in Louisiana .
The Associated Press called the race for Cassidy after early
returns showed him leading by a wide margin.
LA Landslide: Republican Bill Cassidy Gains Ninth GOP
Senate Seat in Win Over Landrieu. By Cortney O'Brien
Excerpt: Cassidy pulled in 56 percent of the vote, to
Landrieu's 44 percent. The road was rocky for Landrieu from the start. The
public found out about her improper
use of taxpayer funds, then the fact she doesn’t even own
a home in Louisiana .
Then, she dissed her
constituents.

Congress fast-tracks
bills loaded with special interest projects in year-end rush
Excerpt: Tucked inside the massive defense policy bill now
pending on Capitol Hill is a rewrite of terrorist watch lists, a host of new
national park sites and a land deal that American Indians say threatens to
destroy ancient burial grounds. Meanwhile, several tax break bills speeding
through Congress renew
a controversial credit for wind turbines and end Medicare’s program
to pay for penis pumps for senior citizens suffering erectile dysfunction.
Super Bowl flop: VA
spent $10 million of taxpayer funds on high-profile television ads
Excerpt: The VA inspector general says the $5.2 million that
the department paid a Vienna, Virginia-based advertising firm
called Woodpile Studios for
TV ads that aired during the Super Bowl and the Country Music
Association awards a few years ago did little to increase
awareness about the government’s services for veterans.
Key elements of
Rolling Stone’s U-Va. gang rape allegations in doubt
Excerpt: A University
of Virginia student’s
harrowing description of a gang rape at a fraternity, detailed
in a recent Rolling Stone article, began to unravel Friday as interviews
revealed doubts about significant elements of the account. The fraternity statement
rebutting the story, and Rolling Stone apologized for a lapse in judgment and

Why angry Australian
gamers want to ban the Bible
Excerpt: This week, the Australian franchises of Kmart and
Target stock the video game "Grand Theft Auto V," which came out
last year but was re-released for newer consoles in November. The move followed
an online petition campaign with tens of thousands of signatures, saying
the game "encourages players to murder women for entertainment."
Critics of the game have long complained about its longstanding depiction of women
as scantily clad strippers and prostitutes. ... A new petition in response to the recent ban calls on
Target to remove another incendiary item from its shelves, one which also
"encourages" the murder of women for entertainment. What is it? Read an excerpt of the petition to find out: This is
The Holy Bible.
After 27 Years at

Job
Excerpt: After 27 years with the network, Candy Crowley
is out at CNN.
After the 2012 Presidential Debate she moderated
between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, the State of the Union host was
roundly criticized for seeming to take sides.
Excerpt: It was Christmas season, 1999. In March we had lost
our son and my wife and I had little enthusiasm for celebrating the season. With
Christmas less than two weeks away we hadn't bothered to put up a tree or
decorate the house, as is our tradition. Then we read in the paper that a local
church would be conducting a special non-denominational prayer gathering for
people who had lost a loved one during the year. We decided to go. for our
hearts were still aching so dearly for our loss.
Excerpt: Hillary Clinton is taking heat for saying America should
“empathize” and show “respect” for its enemies. The former secretary of State,
who is considered a likely 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, made the
remarks during a speech Wednesday at Georgetown
University in Washington , D.C.
(I'm sure FDR showed respect and empathized with the Hitler and Tajo. ~Bob.
Yep, there's a great idea, we need to empathize with the guy who gleefully cut
off the heads, slowly with a big knife, of two Americans, with the ISIS
practice of taking for slaves the Yazd girls and selling them, with the Boko Hiram
guys who slaughter everyone on the bus who cannot recite Muslim prayers, with
the guys who shot a teenage girl in the face for speaking out about rights, and
with every other bloodthirsty maniac whose greatest desire in life is to kill
Americans and anyone else he doesn't like for any reason. While we're at it, we
should just cozy up to Putin and accept his need to expand Russia's borders
regardless of who suffers thereby, and now that I think of it, probably it was
a mistake back in 1940 to not empathize with the Greater Asian Co-Prosperity
Sphere of Japan, and just keep selling them oil for their fleet and iron for
their weapons as they marched across large parts of Asia. Hey, look at this as
a great moment, when Hillary made it so obvious that she can never be allowed
to occupy the Oval Office that true blind fools can still want her there. --Del )
Members of the
military return home to reunite with their families
The link will take you to a six minute video that ESPN put
together about our soldiers returning home from Afghanistan to surprise their
families. It is a guaranteed emotional slammer. Terry's comments sync pretty
well with my own feelings, and probably a lot of other vets. --Del. You will be
touched. I think differently than a lot of people, and while these reunions are
touching I’m not a fan of setting them up for the entertainment of a crowd even
though the intent is honorable. What is evident in every scene is the intense
yearning bubbling inside every separated military family to be together again.
But what is foremost in my mind are the stupid assholes in Washington DC who
never came close to serving in the military, and whose political buffoonery
make deployments to a war zone even more dangerous by advertising to our enemy
things like the limits on our options, the timetable for withdrawal, and the
rules of engagement managed by lawyers that endanger our own troops. That
doesn’t make the reunion scenes any less touching, but it does make me want to
smack someone really hard. --Terry Garlicky

who had denied the charges, said he felt "vindicated"

Excerpt: If Mary Landrieu, a Democratic senator from Louisiana , loses re-election in Saturday’s runoff
election, as expected, the Republicans will have vanquished the last vestige of
Democratic strength in the once solidly Democratic Deep

Republicans would control not only every Senate seat, but every governor’s

roughly two miles form the border, saying it will “escalate confrontation” and
cause a war.

UC Berkeley Liberals Won’t Pay Higher Minimum Wage Imposed by Liberals
Excerpt: Remember all those calls by liberals for higher

the beacon of liberalism, has decided to ignore a local ordinance that raised
the minimum wage. The school is claiming they are exempt as a state agency.

Hillary 2.0 Would Be Hillary XX. Frank Bruni
Excerpt: NOVEMBER 2016 is still a long way off, but it’s
hard to imagine that the presidential campaign will provide any bit of
advertising as strangely entertaining and revealing as a video put online
recently by Stand With Hillary, a new “super PAC. ”
... It spotlights a man in a cowboy hat who croons in a country-and-western
twang about how darned much he adores that there Hillary Clinton. “Hindsight’s
always right,” he sings, a clear dig at Barack Obama, the candidate chosen over
her in the Democratic primaries.

She drops off her luggage in her childhood bedroom at the end of the hall and
comes back to the living room.
“Catch Me If You
Can”: Valor Thief Boasts Use Of Fake Military Uniform To Get Free Food
Excerpt: A man who uses the YouTube name johnnyb34434 has
called out all active duty military and veterans to “catch me if you can.” He
claims that he regularly steals valor and there is nothing anyone can do about
it. He describes how he dresses up in uniform and has three day feasts for free
at all the restaurants that offer meals on Veterans day and Memorial day
weekends. This is likely an outright violation of the Stolen
Valor Act of 2013. Warning: this video will incite overwhelming feelings of
rage!
Latest Federal
Mandate On 'Fair Housing' Is Anything But
Excerpt: Patrick Henry, an ardent supporter of a smaller,
local government, once said: "I like the dreams of the future better than
the history of the past." Something tells me that he would not utter such
a statement were he alive in 2014. Henry and many other Founding Fathers are
likely rolling over in their graves as a result of the incessant intrusion into
local affairs by our current president and the federal government. In the eyes
of the Obama administration, Americans are not the best judges of where they
should live and raise their families. At least that's the message coming from
the Department of Housing and Urban Development. (Yep, this is what the society
needs, federal bureaucrats laying out where everyone should live and setting up
rules to make sure that everyone complies. Every time I think they've pushed as
far into arrogance and stupidity as they can, they surprise me again. Hopefully
this will get all the very negative attention it deserves, and will get buried
by massive objections and the House finally deciding it's time to use the
defunding option. --Del )
Interior secretary
disappointed at land swap in Defense bill
Excerpt: The swap is part of a massive federal parks and
energy package that was attached to the National Defense Authorization Act and
passed by the House this week. It would transfer the Arizona site of the proposed Resolution
Copper mine — estimated to be one of the largest deposits in the world — to a
British mining company, enabling its development. The land, currently a
national forest, contains a site sacred to the San Carlos Apache tribe, where
warriors are believed to have leapt to their depth in the 19th century to avoid
being captured by troops. (Bad karma to mess with a sacred tribal site....Years
ago I had the opportunity to ride horseback into the Chiricahau National
Monument area and some very unusual things happened; not sure if old rocks with
ancient memories or vibes or spirits but I would not sell it to Australia,
infringing tribal lands. I think the Apaches would be back on the warpath..... And
the blacks have a chip on their shoulders for what they feel owed for
"reparations".... The Native Americans lost most of it and still have
the government screwing them out of the little they have left..... Where are
the organizations griping about Indian losses? Progressives just gripe about

Excerpt: According to reports, a family saw the robbery and followed the suspect.
The father, who holds a concealed weapons permit, fired a shot into the air.
This was enough to spook the suspect into dropping the cash register and
fleeing. (Not crazy about having the family

Kroger Increases
Profits 21% Despite Anti-Gunner Boycott
Excerpt: Instead of hurting the store’s bottom line, all
those boycotts and petitions and hollering on Facebook and Twitter have
actually helped elevate the Kroger brand. You see, Kroger just posted a
21% increase in 3rd quarter profits compared to the same period last year.
For reference, similar grocery stores around the country saw an increase in
profits of just 5.6%.
12-Year-Old Girl
Shoots and Kills Mountain Lion Stalking Her
Excerpt: Just two days into her New Mexico Hunt Alyssa and
her dad were looking for the prize elk near a meadow. Asking her to stay where
she was, her dad turned back to grab some gear, and that’s when Alyssa felt something
was wrong. “I already had a feeling that something was watching me or
something, but I didn’t see the cat until it was close,” said Alyssa. Without
giving it a second thought, Alyssa knew exactly what she needed to do. “I just
raised up my gun and shot it point blank long ways through the body because it
was facing me when I shot.”
It only took one shot and the mountain lion was on the
ground. “The cat instantly flopped over right there, of course I kept my gun on
it just in case it got up or something like that.”
Ebola and Enterovirus News
Nigerian Ebola
Volunteers Fly Into Liberia ,
Sierra Leone
Excerpt: More than 175 Nigerian medics arrived in Liberia and Sierra Leone on Friday to join the
fight against Ebola, the first of 600 volunteers
promised by the regional giant which contained its own outbreak earlier this
year. ... The United Nations said one of its peacekeepers in Liberia
had contracted Ebola, making him the third infected member of the mission.
The two others have both died.
Ebola czar Klain to

Excerpt: The White House’s Ebola czar is expected to leave
after his 130-day assignment, with the deadly virus now appearing under control
in the United States .
The news that Ron Klain, a veteran Democratic operative and fixer, would leave
was reported first on Saturday by Fortune Magazine and confirmed by
Fox News. Klain was appointed by President Obama in mid-October after the first
Ebola death in the U.S. sparked
widespread concerns about such issues as medical protocol and an outbreak of
the virus on American soil. (He can put it on his resume under "Window

Race Card News
Excerpt: The slogan of the wave of Ferguson protests is “Black Lives Matter”. But
progressives are far more interested in toting around the corpse of Michael
Brown to their protests than in the living man he was. Trayvon Martin, Michael
Brown and countless others like them grew up in broken families, their lives
haunted by fathers and stepfathers with gang ties. The only masculine culture
they had was that of the thug and that culture eventually killed them. ... Missouri has a black
homicide rate that is nearly double the nationwide homicide rate for black
people. And it’s nearly six times higher than the overall murder rate in Missouri . If the
media were really outraged by lost black lives, they would be outraged by those
numbers. (This will not be a popular essay, in fact Greenfield will get slimed for this for sure.
Speaking the unvarnished, gritty truth in the PC world is an unforgiveable
crime. Meanwhile, the puzzling decision of the NY Grand Jury to not even
allow a charge of involuntary manslaughter to be taken up in open court is
keeping the whole storm of emotion about Blacks and cops raging with no end in
sight. Now the feds will jump on the NY case for sure, and we will have at
least a year of waiting before that goes anywhere. --Del )
Balanced Account: In three minutes, two lives collide
and a nation divides over Ferguson
shooting. Washington Post
Excerpt: Brown was 18, big, funny, a marijuana smoker,
religious and, on that summer’s day, a kid who robbed a convenience store of a
$15 packet of cigarillos. Wilson
was 28, big, soft-spoken, divorced, the son of a woman who was convicted of
stealing — an officer with a clean record, an officer who had never before
fired his weapon on duty. (Both Wilson and Johnson had reason to shade the
truth their way. To indict, the Grand Jury would have had to believe a few
witnesses, completely disregard many others. ~Bob)
What the Numbers Say on Police Use of Force. By Steven Malanga
Excerpt: Two decades of data on police interactions with the
public don’t support the idea that something extraordinary is afoot, that the
police are becoming “militarized” as President Obama has suggested, or that
distrust between police and local communities has produced an enormous spike in
conflicts. By contrast, the data show that significant crime declines have been
accompanied by a leveling off and then a reduction in confrontations with the
police, as reported by Americans of all races.
Excerpt: What is difficult to understand, though, is the
benefit that the Ferguson , Missouri , community derives from burning and
looting business establishments in their own neighborhoods, especially when unemployment
is already a problem. In the meantime, the outside agitators in many cases are
sitting in their hotel rooms sipping wine and watching the carnage on
television. Hopefully, people in communities such as Ferguson ,
like people all over America ,
are beginning to awaken and realize that they should be more than pawns in the
hands of manipulators who, in reality, could not care less about them.
Excerpt: Several lawmakers took to the House floor Monday
evening to make the “Hands up, don’t shoot,” gesture to protest the police
shooting of the unarmed Ferguson
teen, Michael Brown. “Hands up, don’t shoot. It’s a rallying cry of people all
across America
who are fed up with police violence,” Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said as he
took the floor. (Never mind that many witnesses, some black, say it didn't
happen. Let's go with, "hands off, don't loot!" ~Bob)

Police Investigate
Possible Hate Crime in Bevo Neighborhood. By Allison Blood
Excerpt: According to a police report, at about 5:30 a.m., a
Bosnian woman was driving on the 4600 block of Lansdowne when three black males
in their late-teens to early-20s stepped in front of her vehicle. When the
woman tried to drive around them, the suspects reportedly pulled out a firearm,
so she stopped the car. After hitting her windshield with a crowbar, the
suspects pulled the woman from her car, threw her on the ground and kicked her.
Christmas 2014: All I Want Is Peace On Earth, Goodwill
Towards Man And A Machine Gun. By Doug Giles
Excerpt: Look, wherever one comes down on the Ferguson
issues, if you’re honest and you live in close proximity to that mayhem, you’ve
gotta feel more vulnerable than a teenage girl being babysat by Lena Dunham,
because the present mobs are three bubbles off-level and they’re
indiscriminately breaking and burning crap and injuring innocent people.
Indeed, across this nation, not only in Ferguson , the fever pitch is hot and I don’t
foresee this dying down anytime soon, especially when you have the likes of de
Blasio and Oblasio passive-aggressively stoking this stuff with lies,
half-truths and innuendo to the easily influenced, low-intel vandals who have
way too much time on their hands.

President Bush
"Doesn't Understand" Grand Jury Decision in Eric Garner Case?
Excerpt: Crowley asked the
former President what he thought after seeing the video of Eric Garner being
killed on the streets of New York .
President Bush replied that, “The verdict was hard to understand. I
haven’t seen all the details, but it’s sad that race continues to play such an
emotional, divisive part of life.”
Excerpt: Clearly, this No True Bill is more difficult to
justify than the St. Louis grand jury’s vote
against filing homicide charges against Ferguson
police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown. Officer Pantaleo,
who is white, is being investigated for killing Mr. Garner, a 43-year-old black
man who was physically imposing but unarmed, and who was resisting arrest (for
a nonviolent crime, the illegal sale of untaxed cigarettes) but not overtly
threatening the safety of the police.
Progressivism Claims Another Life. By Derek Hunter
Excerpt: Still, he never should have died that summer day.
Big government killed Eric Garner. Police were just the weapon. Garner was
selling “illegal cigarettes” that day, or “loosies” – individual cigarettes
from a pack. Why would anyone buy individual cigarettes? Because government, in
this case New York ,
both city and state, have, through exorbitant taxation, made buying a whole
pack too expensive for many.
Excerpt: The fatal use of a banned chokehold on Eric Garner,
an asthmatic father of six and grandfather of two, in New York City seems to have had the opposite
effect — bringing wide condemnation crossing racial, partisan and ideological
lines. Conservatives have joined liberals in denouncing the Staten
Island grand jury’s decision Wednesday as a miscarriage of
justice.
Eric Garner and the
criminalization of everyday life
Excerpt: We all know politicians love their tax revenue. But
is it worth risking killing someone over a few bucks? That's what happened to
Eric Garner in Staten Island in July. He was
confronted by the NYPD for selling loose cigarettes for 75 cents on the black
market — a crime for which he had been repeatedly arrested in the past. Garner,
who was passively uncooperative but did not resist officers with force, ended
up dead.
Excerpt: There's an element of truth to this line of
argument. Violent crime rates are far higher among blacks than among whites and
other groups. One reason cops have a disproportionate number of interactions
with African-American males is that these men commit a disproportionate number
of offenses. Where the argument fails is in its assumption that blacks are
complacent about these realities and that whites are blameless. The gist of the
message is that blacks created the problem and blacks need to solve it. But the
problem didn't originate recently. (I will say again, it's not race, it's
culture. The pathologies of the inner city slums are present in Britain as
well--in the white community. See Life at the Bottom by Theodore Dalrymple. http://www.amazon.com/Life-Bottom-Worldview-Makes-Underclass/dp/1566635055/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1405005974&sr=1-1&keywords=Life+at+the+Bottom

Who Is Killing Off
Black Americans. By Michael Brown
Excerpt: Regardless of the color of our skin or our
ethnicity, we need to listen carefully to these charges of injustice, asking
difficult questions about failures in our system. Simply to ignore them or deny
them won’t do. That being said, it is not the police who are the main culprits
in killing off black Americans. Not a chance. According to the best research
I’ve seen, roughly 100 blacks are killed by policemen every year compared to
roughly 300 whites killed by police over the same period of time.

Obamacare/Government Healthcare News
Excerpt: The Obama administration is actually pleading
with people to shop around before choosing a health insurance plan.
Ordinarily that would be good advice. Ideally, people should comparison shop –
considering the differences in premiums, subsidies, and networks of the
different plans. But as I wrote at Forbes this
week, there’s one big problem: Intelligent comparison shopping is virtually
impossible.
Medicare Can't Fight
Drug Fraud, but a New Bill Would Change That
Excerpt: In 2012, 158 deceased Medicare beneficiaries filled
348 HIV drug prescriptions -- after they were already dead. The prescriptions,
worth $300,000, were recently discovered by the Inspector General of the
Department of Health and Human Services. The report is not the first to find
HIV drug fraud, says Devon Herrick of the National Center
for Policy Analysis: another recently found that 1,600 Medicare beneficiaries
were inappropriately filling prescriptions for HIV. Some of those beneficiaries
were filling multiple prescriptions, while others did not even have HIV!

8,805 of the roughly 180,000 unskilled Central American migrants who flooded

‘Long Overdue’: Purple Hearts for Fort Hood, Little Rock Victims Rolled
Into Defense Funding Bill. The White House threatened to veto such
language before, but is faced this time with a bipartisan, bicameral
compromise.
Excerpt: In May 2012, President Obama threatened to veto the National Defense
Authorization Act because, among other reasons, the bill would have
awarded Purple Hearts to the victims of the 2009 Fort
Hood shooting and Little Rock recruitment office shooting. “The
Administration objects to section 552, which would grant Purple Hearts to the
victims of the shooting incidents in Fort Hood , Texas , and Little
Rock , Arkansas ,” the
veto threat stated. “The criminal acts that occurred in Little
Rock were tried by the State of Arkansas as violations of the State criminal
code rather than as acts of terrorism; as a result, this provision could create
appellate issues.” Years later, persistent lawmakers have gotten the Purple
Hearts for these victims of terrorism into the compromise NDAA for Fiscal Year
2015. (Not treating them as the victims of the war that they most assuredly are
was a total travesty, and has needed to be resolved for far too long. This is
one of those things where Mr. Obama's priorities can be seen to be very poor,
in fact, pretty much insulting to those in the service and those who have
served. --Del )

Excerpt: A Naval engineer was

undercover FBI agent. Federal authorities alleged in court filings that Mostafa
Ahmed Awwad, 35, of Yorktown ,

of the USS Gerald R. Ford to an agent posing as an
Egyptian intelligence officer and talked about where to shoot the vessel to sink
it. (I volunteer for the firing squad. as always, I'll bring my own rifle

always obvious about it. But the FBI needs to be vigilant on things like this. I
hope this engineer will go to a max security prison for the rest of his life. Personally,
I'd be in favor of a much shorter life, but we don't hang traitors anymore. Too
bad. --Del )
Islamic Leader says
Muslims Discovered Earth was Round First
Excerpt: Turkey ’s
Science, Industry and Technology Minister, Fikri Işık was speaking at a
reception for local business leaders last week when he made a somewhat incredible claim. "Some 700-800
years before Galileo, 71 Muslim scientists led by al-Khwarizmi convened by the
order of the Caliph Al-Ma'mun and revealed that the Earth is a
sphere," Minister Işık told the collected group. Implying that
Islamic scholars were the first to discover the earth’s spherical shape is a
rather HUGE stretch, considering the West had known this for over 1,000 years

who were then murdered by gunshots at close range or beheading. Thirty-six men
were killed.
Six Guantanamo
detainees transferred to Uruguay
as Obama works to close prison
Excerpt: Six detainees held at the U.S. military detention center at Guantanamo Bay , Cuba ,
were transferred to Uruguay
over the weekend, months after the South American country had agreed to accept
the men, the Pentagon announced Sunday. The detainees included a Tunisian, a
Palestinian and four Syrians who were captured in Pakistan
and Afghanistan more than a
decade ago and turned over to U.S.
forces. (The price of closing Gitmo will be dead Americans. The media will
blame Bush, or the Koch Brothers, or maybe Global warming--anyone but Obama.

Excerpt: A proposed mega-mosque in the pretty little town of Bridgewater, New
Jersey, was rejected by the town council last year, “citing an ordinance that
limited houses of worship to major roads.” ... But Islamic supremacists and
Muslim Brotherhood organizations like CAIR called upon their lapdogs at the
Department of Justice, who sued Bridgewater .
... This New Jersey town
was forced to pay Muslims $7.75 million to keep them from building a
mega-mosque there. (Per author, "Jizya." --Barb)
Hillary And
The ISIS Killing Fields
Excerpt: As ISIS’ death toll reaches hundreds of thousands,
according to some estimates, and Boko Haram’s killing spree in Nigeria tops 10,000 this year, the former
secretary of state and the leading candidate for the Democratic Party
presidential nomination suggests the answer is women playing a larger role in
conflict resolution. In addition, she told a conspicuously unfilled hall at Georgetown
University this week that the U.S. needs to show such groups “respect”
and even “empathy.”... I’m not sure who’s
crazier – ISIS or Clinton.
Hillary: We must
respect and empathize with those who behead children
Excerpt: Can you imagine George Bush standing atop the
rubble of the World
Trade Center
with his bullhorn saying, “I hear you! And soon the people who took these
buildings down will be getting more respect and empathy from us!”
Excerpt: The US
military turned over Latif Mehsud, formerly a senior commander in the Movement
of the Taliban in Pakistan ,
to the Pakistani government within the past week. Latif was snatched by US
forces from Afghan intelligence officials in the Afghan province of Logar
in October 2013.
Excerpt: Islamic apologists in the West routinely deny that
Muhammad married a child or that Islamic law sanctions child marriage. Stories
like these show that they’re lying. In reality, few things are more abundantly
attested in Islamic law than the permissibility of child marriage. Islamic
tradition records that Muhammad’s favorite wife, Aisha, was six when Muhammad wedded
her and nine when he consummated the marriage: “The Prophet wrote the (marriage
contract) with Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage
with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years
(i.e. till his death)” (Bukhari 7.62.88).

Excerpt: A Lord Mayor walked out of an Islamic charity lunch
after discovering that he would have to be segregated from his female consort. Labour
councillor John Thomas, 70, arrived at the function last Sunday with consort
Margaret Corley, 72. But Councillor Thomas, the Lord Mayor of Leicester ,
was said to be upset at being told he would have to dine in an upstairs
function room with male guests, while his consort would be seated downstairs
with the other women.
