After years of work on this and other important vet issues, we in the DAV and other veterans’ organizations have helped get this useful benefit through Congress. Starting Jan. 1, ALL Purple Heart recipients, former POWs, and service-connected disabled veterans, regardless of rating, as well as caregivers enrolled in the VA's Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers program, will be able to shop at Defense Commissary Agency stores and military exchanges. They also will have access to Morale, Recreation and Welfare amenities, such as golf courses, recreation areas, theaters, bowling alleys, campgrounds and lodging facilities that are operated by MWR. For those of you on social media, please be sure to post this to your page or veterans’ groups. Enjoy! SF, Jim
