Excerpt: Trump’s massive strength should also come as no surprise. He has always been doing better in states with large numbers of non-religious and Catholic voters, and New York ’s GOP electorate have large shares of both. He also does much better with moderates and somewhat conservatives than with very conservative Republicans, and New York ’s Republicans are decidedly to the left of the national party. Simple demographic analysis would always have suggested he would win with well over 40 percent of the vote; add in the home state advantage and you get the landslide margins that are about to unfold. (Okay, but it's not really as bad as it sounds. We used to have, between the Army, the National Guard, and the Reserve, arms enough for about 30 divisions plus floats. Excerpt: One word that’s really getting a workout this cycle is “loophole.” Basically, all of life is a giant loophole until Democrats come up with a way to regulate or tax it. In its economic usage, “loophole” — probably more of a dysphemism — creates the false impression that people are getting away with breaking the law. Mr. Obama has pushed the power of the Executive Branch and the office of the President further than anyone since Andrew Jackson, and this absolutely must stop.
