Today's not-to-be-missed political news and opinion

Book Recommendation: Hardtack & Coffee or The Unwritten Story of Army Life by John D. Billings
This interesting little book, written in the 1880s, was only 99 cents on Kindle. The author was an artilleryman in the Army of the Potomac. This is not an account of battles, strategy and combat, but rather everyday life for the union soldier. It details food, shelter, clothing, animals, hospitals, the different types of men in ranks, and much more of the mundane usually over-looked by historians. I was surprised how much matched my experience in the Marines a hundred years later: shelter halves, wall tents, barracks, making a coffee cup from a can and wire (I had one at Khe Sanh!), the troops' jokes, shirks, etc. I loved the more erudite language of the times: "To enter (a tent) ... of a rainy morning from the outer air, and encounter the night's accumulation of nauseating exhalations from the bodies of 12 men (differing widely in their habits of personal cleanliness) was an experience no old soldier has been known to recall with any great enthusiasm."  I think veterans, history buffs and Civil war enthusiasts will all like this book. My wife, who has been watching the TV series "Mercy Street" about a Civil War hospital, was interested to read that chapter.

The First Year of President Bernie Sanders. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: On January 20, 2017, President Bernie Sanders was sworn into office. The elderly Vermont politician, who had always made waves, refused to use a bible, instead taking his oath on a smudged copy of his own economic five-year plan. He also unilaterally modified the presidential oath from “preserve, protect and defend” to “enhance, enrich and humanize the Constitution of the United States”.

Worth Reading: Obamacare Exacerbates the Tragedy of the Healthcare Commons (Can We do Better?) By Devon Herrick
Excerpt: It is common sense that people take care of their own property better than community property, often times referred to as “commons.” Because community resources are finite (say, grazing land in a pastoral society), overgrazing (and too little maintenance) is bound to occur absent any collaborative agreements. Moreover, one person’s conservation efforts cannot overcome all the other self-interested parties’ perverse incentives. Economists call this the tragedy of the commons. Unfortunately, Obamacare proponents (and LBJ for that matter) did not understand how the tragedy of the commons would boost health care spending. Medicare, Medicaid and Obamacare plans are all examples of attempts by government to expand the health care commons — rather than encourage individuals to sustainably manage their own health care resources with appropriate incentives.

Worth Reading: The return of appeasement, collaboration and isolationism. By Victor Davis Hanson
Excerpt: Yet Western appeasement did not alone guarantee the outbreak of World War II.
The Germans invaded Poland only after a guarantee from Josef Stalin that the Soviet Union would soon join in attacking the Poles from the east. The two dictatorships could then divvy up the country. Stalin’s communist Russia had foolishly gambled that by making a deal with Nazi Germany, Hitler would leave the Soviets alone. At first, Stalin hoped that Germany would turn its war machine loose only on the Western European democracies. Yet Stalin’s collaboration with Hitler eventually guaranteed that Russia also would be double-crossed — less than two years after signing an agreement with the Third Reich. Germany surprise-attacked the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941. Due to Stalin’s collaboration, almost 30 million Russians would die on the Eastern Front over the next four years.

Worth Reading: It’s Time to End the Federal Minimum Wage. By Tim Kane
Excerpt: Sweden has no minimum wage. Nor does Denmark. Nor Finland. Nor Italy. Nor Austria. Does its absence affect the unemployment rate? Yes, the average unemployment rate is about four percentage points lower in countries with no minimum-wage laws than in neighboring countries, according to data collected by professor Stephen Hanke of Johns Hopkins University. This fact confirms Economics 101 — Yes, Virginia, there is a downward-sloping labor-demand curve. If you prefer to ignore such realities, indulge the logic of the editorial board of the New York Times, who must believe the prime minister of Sweden to be a callous enemy of the working man. Just Wednesday, the Times  published a willfully ignorant editorial that said doubling the federal minimum wage would have no negative impact:

Tragedy and Choices. By Thomas Sowell
Excerpt: Amid the petty bickering, loud rhetoric and sordid attack ads in this year's primary election campaigns, the death of a giant — Justice Antonin Scalia — suddenly overshadows all of that. The vacancy created on the Supreme Court makes painfully clear the huge stakes involved when we choose a President of the United States, just one of whose many powers is the power to nominate justices of the Supreme Court.

Worth Reading: Hillary Clinton's Dead-End Campaign. By Victor Davis Hanson
Excerpt: Hillary Clinton may yet win the Democratic nomination—if she is not indicted. After all, it is hard for a New England spread-the-wealth socialist like rival Bernie Sanders to appeal to working-class southern whites, minorities, or the wealthy Democratic establishment. It is still likely that the Democratic Party will find a way to aid an ailing and scandal-plagued Mrs. Clinton, rather than turn over its future to a 74-year-old scold, who for most of his voting life was not a Democrat and whose redistributionist agendas and Woodstock fables about the 1960s make Obama seem centrist in comparison. All that said, Mrs. Clinton’s campaign rhetoric is coming up empty—largely because it is at odds with the way she has lived her life and conducted her various careers over the last two decades. Voters, even younger ones, are now sorely aware of those flagrant contradictions.

Worth Reading: Trump, Lies, and Bankruptcy. By Kevin D. Williamson
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/431420/donald-trumps-2016-debate-lies-he-went-bankrupt
Excerpt: A pattern emerges. Donald Trump is a habitual liar, and the thing about habitual liars is that they lie habitually. In a testy exchange with former Florida governor Jeb Bush, Trump insisted that he’d never gone bankrupt, and that claims to the contrary are a lie. That’s the Trump magic right there: Lying about your business history is one thing, lying that your critics are lying about it is another. Trump has a peculiar way of speaking about bankruptcy: He has a deep aversion to the word itself. He speaks of “putting a company into a chapter” without ever answering the implicit question: “Chapter of what? Moby-Dick?” The answer, of course, is the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, to which Trump has taken recourse at least four times over the course of his business career. (If he is, Heaven forfend, the GOP nominee, Hillary or Bernie will use this. And justly so. ~Bob)

Obama
Helps Trump: Obama Says Trump Will Not Be President
Obama knows that the Republican base hates him. He also knows that Trump would be crushed by Hillary. Thus he wants to help Trump win the GOP nomination by saying, "Trump will not be president." If you can't see that, I' like to talk to you about a great waterfront property deal in Florida. ~Bob

Believe it or Not, The Republican Obamacare Replacement Plan Might Come Together. By John R. Graham

Uncle Bernie Sanders Is Brainwashing Our Uneducated Youth. By Roger Simon
Excerpt: Bernie Sanders is a nice, avuncular character who seems to be harmless enough -- a nostalgic throwback to another era -- but his espousal of socialism, "democratic" though it may be, misleads an entire generation of American youth who have absolutely no idea of the economic or social ramifications of the senator's ideology. Lovable Bernie is essentially propagandizing a generation of gullible American young people who don't have anything near the education or experience to understand what is happening to them. His task is made simpler because his Democratic Party opponent is demonstrably and obviously corrupt and in danger of prosecution. She has also been pushed so far to the left by Bernie's success (and her own fears) that no serious questions about socialism are even asked. (Roger Simon does a very nice job on this.  It's really a simple thing, real socialism has never, ever worked, and the examples of that are so very clear, and numerous.  But he's packaging it like a new Christmas present for everyone, in beautiful paper wrapping.  And no doubt he believes it all, but that doesn't make it any less false. --Del)

The Gander Squeals: Obama Filibustered Justice Alito, Voted Against Robert. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: Obama and his media allies are now making all the expected noises about the Senate's obligation to confirm nominees if they're qualified without partisan interference. That is the exact opposite of what he did to Bush's Supreme Court nominees. (Oh that pesky history of what he actually said and did in the past.  But we're not suppose to pay any attention to it. --Del)

Dems in Senate passed a resolution in 1960 against election year Supreme Court appointments. By Thomas Lifson

Worth Reading: The Lure of Socialism. By Thomas Sowell, PhD
Excerpt: Many people of mature years are amazed at how many young people have voted for Senator Bernie Sanders, and are enthusiastic about the socialism he preaches. Many of those older people have lived long enough to have seen socialism fail, time and again, in countries around the world. Venezuela, with all its rich oil resources, is currently on the verge of economic collapse, after its heady fling with socialism. But, most of the young have missed all that, and their dumbed-down education is far more likely to present the inspiring rhetoric of socialism than to present its dismal track record. Socialism is in fact a wonderful vision — a world of the imagination far better than any place anywhere in the real world, at any time over the thousands of years of recorded history.

Trump Surges To 2-1 Lead Among Republicans Nationwide, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Clinton, Sanders Locked In A Tie Among Democrats
Excerpt: In the Democratic race nationwide, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has 44 percent, with Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont at 42 percent, and 11 percent undecided, unchanged from February 5. The top three Republicans are closely matched in terms of voter opinion as Trump gets a 62 - 31 percent favorability among Republicans, with 64 - 17 percent for Rubio and 62 - 23 percent for Cruz.

Interesting: Who dislikes Obama more — conservatives or liberals? By Kyle Smith
Excerpt: As President Obama prepares to carefully fasten his bike helmet and ride off into the sunset, how do we know his presidency has been a total failure? Because even liberals say so. The famous thrill going up their legs (in the words of Chris Matthews) is now forming a cold, embarrassing puddle in their shoes. There’s a reason why Hillary Clinton, campaigning as the guarantor of Obama’s third term, just got smoked by a kooky geriatric. Bernie Sanders is catching on in part because he tacitly concedes that Obama has been a dud. “We voted for hope and change, Mr. President, but what did we get?” asks progressive radio host Bill Press, a longtime voice of the left on CNN shows such as “Crossfire,” in his new book “Buyer’s Remorse: How Obama Let Progressives Down” (Threshold Editions).

Hillary Clinton’s History: How Huma Abedin Went from Intern to Top Adviser
Excerpt: In Part One of this series, we looked at the people and events behind the history-making first White House Ramadan dinner, held in 1996 and hosted by Hillary Clinton — an event that revealed the shocking ignorance both Bill and Hillary Clinton had about Islam, especially in the light of events such as 1993’s attack on the World Trade Center. As we detailed in Part One, that “Eid Dinner” event was put together by an organization called the American Muslim Council that was founded and headed by a man named Abdurahman Alamoudi. Alamoudi, who is now serving a federal prison term for funding terrorism, was a political mover and shaker with ties to not just the Clinton White House, but later to the George W. Bush White House via Republican lobbyist Grover Norquist.

China 'has deployed missiles in South China Sea' - Taiwan

Debunking the 9/11 Myths: Special Report
Excerpt: There exist a truly amazing (and depressing) number of people and entire organized groups who are deep into conspiracy theories about 9-11.  It wasn't Arab terrorists on the planes, it was Mossad or CIA dupes, the buildings didn't fall down from structural weakening by the intense fires, they were blown down by special shaped charged planted on the beams, it was a missile not a plane that hit the Pentagon, and a few more equally far out ideas. National Geographic did a documentary tearing all this to pieces with real science, but that doesn't matter to the believers.  Now Popular Mechanics has done a really neat article on this as well.  If you have any interest at all, I recommend this. But I warn you, do NOT bother to try to reason with any believer you may encounter.  Remember the old maxim, "never wrestle with a pig, all that happens is you get tired and muddy and the pig is having a fine time". --Del

Antonin ‘Nino’ Scalia The Great, And The War To Come
Excerpt:  Antonin Scalia was one of the greatest jurists in history because he used his formidable intellect to insist that law is law, not license for activism.  It will be total war replacing him. Justice Scalia, who died Saturday, for decades had been a leading hate figure for those seeking to transform American society. That’s because the left had found that the courts were a means of enacting its agenda whenever the voters refused to cooperate. For anyone who values rule by the people, politicized courts should be a chilling thought. Yet it’s been accepted and promoted by the Democratic Party for many decades now. (This article sums up the whole situation with the Court and the idea of judges using their authority to reshape society as they think best.  I have personally witnessed judges imposing their own personal views on major lawsuits, and it is most definitely not the Blind Justice that was and should be the ideal of jurisprudence.  Scalia was a true hero for truth and the rights of the people to decide how the nation should go, not any elite in courts or political offices taking that power.  To replace him with a Liberal/Leftist judge would wreck the Court's balance.  We must now pray that the appointment of a new Justice will be delayed until next January. --Del)

Confusion over Scalia’s death stirs sideshow debate, conspiracy theories
As congressional lawmakers and presidential candidates battle over the late Justice Antonin Scalia’s potential Supreme Court replacement, a sideshow debate has developed over the circumstances of his death. Questions linger over the precise cause, after the 79-year-old Scalia was found dead Saturday at a remote Texas ranch. Conspiracy theorists jumped on an apparently mangled quote from the ranch owner about a pillow supposedly being found over the judge's head. But even as that quote was walked back, the ambiguous ruling of “natural causes” -- after a TV station initially reported the cause of death as a heart attack -- combined with the decision not to conduct an official autopsy has at the very least raised eyebrows among seasoned investigators. (Now seasoned homicide investigators' questions are being deemed a "sideshow" by FOX.  Drink the Kool-Aid. --Barb. So, if you’re one of those conspiracy theorists who thinks Antonin Scalia was murdered . . . why would the sinister powers wait until now to do it? --Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt)

Constitution Little Help to Obama Bid for Vote on Scalia Vacancy. By Greg Stohr
Excerpt: President Barack Obama suggested that even the late Justice Antonin Scalia would have thought the U.S. Senate was duty-bound to consider whether to confirm his successor on the Supreme Court. The problem for Obama: The Constitution doesn’t say that, at least not explicitly. The pivotal words say the president “shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint" Supreme Court justices. It doesn’t actually say the Senate has to do anything, and in a separate provision the Constitution says both houses of Congress can determine their own rules. "The text nowhere requires the Senate to hold hearings or give a vote," said Ilya Somin, who teaches constitutional law at George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia. "The only requirement is that a nominee can’t actually take a position on the court unless and until the Senate gives its advice and consent."

Congress? We don't need no....Obama Admin Vows To Sign UN Global Warming Deal Without Senate Approval
Excerpt: The Obama administration has vowed to sign a United Nations global warming deal in April despite intense opposition from the Senate and a Supreme Court ruling derailing the government’s green regulatory scheme. “We’re going to go ahead and sign the agreement this year,” Todd Stern, the U.S.’s climate envoy told reporters Tuesday, brushing aside questions about last week’s Supreme Court ruling against the Environmental Protection Agency’s key climate regulation. “It is entirely premature, really premature to assume the Clean Power Plan will be struck down but, even if it were, come what may, we are sticking to our plan to sign, to join,” Stern said of the EPA’s rule. (The body's hardly cold.  The "glitch" has been removed. --Barb.)

Obama Broke a Chilling Regulatory Record in 2015

Excerpt: The scariest part? Many of Obama’s rules sidestep the public review process. Even though procedures are in place to ensure government accountability, Obama's administration is "in a class by itself," The WSJ writes, in issuing "underground regulations”—quietly released recommendations that can hold small businesses liable for certain actions. (How Hitler reportedly took control of Germany. --Barb)

Wisconsin: Assembly passes voter integrity, ‘sanctuary city’ penalty bills. By M.D. Kittle
Excerpt: Calling it a victory for truth, justice and voter integrity, Republican lawmakers hailed Assembly passage of two bills Tuesday tied to immigration issues. In party-line votes, the Assembly passed a bill that would prohibit local identification cards, such as those proposed in Milwaukee County, from being used for voting.  The Republican majority also approved legislation banning “sanctuary cities” in Wisconsin from receiving state funding.

Our Inability to Confront Our Immigration Crisis. What America’s immigration infrastructure lacks – with a dire cost. By Michael Cutler
Excerpt: When immigration is discussed publicly, most of the news reports and most of the statements made by politicians focus on the presence of illegal aliens in the United States while problems within legal side of the issue are ignored.  Additionally, most of these discussions begin by talking about the lack of security to be found along the U.S./Mexican border while ignoring the other dysfunctional components of the immigration system. (Written by a long time INS agent, so he really knows what he's talking about. --Del)

Worth Reading: Fact Checker: Trump’s truly absurd claim he would save $300 billion a year on prescription drugs. By Glenn Kessler
Excerpt: Why would these numbers be so much lower than Trump’s estimate? Well, for one thing, total spending in Medicare Part D (prescription drugs) in 2014was $78 billion. So Trump, in effect, is claiming to save $300 billion a year on a $78 billion program. That’s like turning water into wine. ... Once again, we are confronted with a nonsense figure from the mouth of Donald Trump. He is either claiming to save four times the entire cost of the Medicare prescription drug system – or he is claiming to make prescription drugs free for every American. Neither is possible, so he once again earns Four Pinocchios.

Hillary's Hardship: The Goldberg File. By Jonah Goldberg
Excerpt: It’s hard being a Clinton. And while I have every confidence that I could get a solid 300 words’ worth of Viagra jokes out of that statement, I’m not even going to go there. No, it’s hard being a Clinton because Clintons lie. They are liars. It is what they do. It is who they are. They lie about big things and small. They lie about lying and they lie about having lied about lying. As R. Emmet Tyrell Jr., an almost unhealthy student of Clintonian prevarication, once said, “The Clintons lie when they do not have to lie, and they tell a gaudy whopper when a little white lie would be perfectly satisfactory.”

What if Hillary Clinton loses in Nevada? By Jennifer Rubin
Excerpt: Democrats have been deluding themselves for months. Hillary Clinton, they say, remains the “overwhelming favorite.” Really? Over the past couple of weeks we have seen that her legal problems are significant but that her political predicament is worse. In poll after poll there are signs that the momentum is with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). A Fox News national poll has Sanders ahead by three percentage points, while Clinton’s lead in Nevada is now within the margin of error, according to the RealClearPolitics average. The most recent polls show Sanders ahead by seven points in Massachusetts and by six in Colorado. Clinton remains more than 20 points up in South Carolina, but that may change if she manages to lose Nevada on Saturday.

Interesting: TWITTER TURNS 'BIG BROTHER' OVER SPEECH. 'Trust & Safety Council' called ominous sign for conservatives on social networking
Excerpt: Twitter apparently is going “Big Brother” on users over speech.... Some of the “40 organizations and experts” making up the council are frequent critics of conservatives and Christians, including the homosexual rights group GLAAD, the Anti-Defamation League, the feminist organization Feminist Frequency, and the Islamic organization the Wahid Institute. In its official announcement, Twitter claimed the council would attempt to “strike the right balance between fighting abuse and speaking truth to power.” The rules say they are designed to prevent online bullying, including death threats and encouragement to commit suicide. (CenturyLink and Google already censoring emails, refusing to forward; some claim denied internet access to websites.  Regime's "fairness" standards a Marxist double-speak for censorship of what doesn't agree with their goals, looks like being implemented.  Mind you, Twitter let folks say okay to shoot Trump, Trump voters.  Interesting combination of "experts."  Wonder what will happen to GLAAD and Anti-Defamation League and FF when Islamics, seeded throughout US by Regime, take over and establish sharia law....Barb. The government has no right to censor speech. Private companies, like newspapers, magazines, book publishers, TV and now social media companies have every legal right to censor what is on their platforms. Miami Police Union Boycotts Beyoncé Concert
Excerpt: In a statement Wednesday, the police union said it had voted to boycott Beyoncé’s April 26 concert at the Miami Marlins Stadium over what it called the singer’s decision “to divide Americans by promoting the Black Panthers and her antipolice message” during the halftime performance....“While Beyoncé’ physically saluted the 50th anniversary of the Black Panthers movement at the Super Bowl, I salute NYPD Officer Richard Rainey, who succumbed to his injuries on February 16, 2016 from being shot by two Black Panthers who he had pulled over in a traffic stop,” Miami FOP President Javier Ortiz said in a statement. “I also salute the dozens of law enforcement officers that have been assassinated by members of the Black Panthers,” he added. Sanders Campaign Staffers Admit Using False Address To Vote [VIDEO]

Western Society Must Stop Migrant Crisis To Survive

Interesting: Charles Koch: This is the one issue where Bernie Sanders is right
Excerpt: Even so, I see benefits in searching for common ground and greater civility during this overly negative campaign season. That’s why, in spite of the fact that he often misrepresents where I stand on issues, the senator should know that we do agree on at least one — an issue that resonates with people who feel that hard work and making a contribution will no longer enable them to succeed. ... Democrats and Republicans have too often favored policies and regulations that pick winners and losers. This helps perpetuate a cycle of control, dependency, cronyism and poverty in the United States. These are complicated issues, but it’s not enough to say that government alone is to blame. Large portions of the business community have actively pushed for these policies.

Police release video of attack on Iraq War veteran outside DC McDonald's
Saw a black DC detective on Fox News yesterday commenting on this case.  Said he wasn't sure that he believed the vet's story.  Said he wasn't sure that BLM figured in it.  I had a light bulb moment--These blacks denying the anti-white racism of BLM, the BP, those wearing the red/black like gang colors--are just like POTUS denying that ISIS is a threat and evil.  They figure if they SAY it is so, it is so, despite what an unbiased reality would dictate....just as rules and laws seem to no longer apply to those with black skin, just to whites, whether it is disciplinary measures in school, getting pardons for drug trafficking, murder or parking in handicapped spots and fire lanes.  The detective interviewed was asked if there weren't surveillance films and were they making any effort to ID the people involved and again he dissed the question, saying he wasn't sure and it was hard to ID folks from those films...or something to that effect.  In other words, don't ask, don't tell and pretend those blacks beating the crud out of a vet (Hispanic with light-colored skin) were just funning and playing and joking.  (Like the "Pigs in a blanket; fry 'em like bacon" was "a joke.")  WH, VJ, POTUS, Michelle, all silent on increased police deaths.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060665/quotes Sir Thomas More: Not .... Religion of Peace News

Worth Reading: Speak Loudly And Carry A Twig. By Victor Davis Hanson
Excerpts: Nations in the Middle East that once aligned with America are now indifferent. Interests who opposed the United States grow defiant. Fence-sitting countries that calibrated their policies to the perception of U.S. strength are leaning toward our adversaries. Chaos is the result. The recent splashdown in the Straits of Hormuz of an Iranian missile near the USS carrier Harry S. Truman, along with the January 2016 detention and humiliation of a U.S. servicemen off Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf, is a reminder that the recent non-proliferation deal in no way mitigates Iranian hatred of the United States. The release of some $100 billion in impounded Iranian funds will only encourage these staged humiliations. Israel and the Sunni bloc fear tepid American reactions to Iranian provocations are harbingers of likely Iranian violations of the nuclear agreement.

Israel Looks Beyond America. How many allies does President Obama think the U.S. can afford to squander? By Bret Stephens
Excerpt: Talk to Israelis about the United States these days and you will provoke a physical reaction. Barack Obama is an eye roll. John Kerry is a grimace. The administration’s conduct of regional policy is a slow, sad shake of the head. The current state of the presidential race makes for a full-blown shudder. The Israeli rundown of the candidates goes roughly as follows: “Hillary—she doesn’t like us.” “Cruz—I don’t like him.” “Rubio—is he done for?” “Sanders—oy vey.” “Trump—omigod.” As for Israel’s own troubles—a continuing Palestinian campaign of stabbings; evidence that Hamas is rebuilding its network of terror tunnels under the Gaza border and wants to restart the 2014 war; more than 100,000 rockets and guided missiles in the hands of Hezbollah—that’s just the Middle East being itself. It’s the U.S. not being itself that is the real novelty, and is forcing Israel to adjust.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/14/opinion/sunday/the-sexual-misery-of-the-arab-world.html?utm_source=nextdraft&utm_medium=email&_r=0
Excerpt: The attacks on Western women by Arab migrants in Cologne, Germany, on New Year’s Eve evoked the harassment of women in Tahrir Square itself during the heady days of the Egyptian revolution. The reminder has led people in the West to realize that one of the great miseries plaguing much of the so-called Arab world, and the Muslim world more generally, is its sick relationship with women. In some places, women are veiled, stoned and killed; at a minimum, they are blamed for sowing disorder in the ideal society. In response, some European countries have taken to producing guides of good conduct to refugees and migrants.

Sniper Decapitates ISIS Leader Teaching Beheading Class. By RUSS READ
Excerpt: In a stroke of irony, a sniper from the elite British Special Air Service (S.A.S.) took the head off an Islamic State leader who was teaching recruits how to behead prisoners. The terrorist was probably not expecting to become his students’ example, but the sniper armed with a large-caliber rifle made him one after landing a head shot from over 3,000 feet away. The man was reportedly teaching 20 recruits when he quite literally lost his head. (Unfortunately, no video of the actual event.  But it sure sounds like a neat thing to happen. --Del)

Excerpt: These emails also point to a State Department fine with a potential shift of a major player within the Middle East mosaic from an Israel-cooperative stance to a frostier relationship. The emails and public actions of the U.S. State Department show the Obama administration was enabling, funding and fostering a party with a declared goal of Sharia law. In the ashes of the Arab Spring, the democracy push by Clinton’s State Department has turned formerly stable nations into warlord run anarchy, Islamist statelets or war ravaged wastelands.
