Worth Reading :
The Burdens of Thought Policing. By Victor
Davis Hanson
Excerpt: It is not easy being a contemporary thought
policeman. No sooner had the radical gay Left demonized the owners of an Indiana pizza parlor,
which does not cater weddings, for suggesting that in theory they might not
wish to cater a gay wedding than all sorts of stories surfaced saying that
lots of Muslim eateries professed that they too would not cater gay weddings.
What can the thought bullies do if one victim should victimize another? Money
complicates thought policing as well. The CEO of Apple is outraged at the
thought crimes of Indiana pizza-parlor owners who offer his trillion-dollar
company no chance of lucre — but he is not outraged at the concretely
homophobic culture of the Middle East or the religious intolerance of China,
which are hooked on i-products. Are theoretical sins worse than actual ones?
Excerpt: Whenever a prominent political figure is indicted
on charges of alleged corruption, serious questions arise. Is the prosecution
part of a growing and dangerous trend toward criminalizing policy differences?
Does it endanger the free speech rights of contributors? Will it constrain the
legislative branch from serving as a check and balance on the executive? These
questions now are being raised in the context of the prosecution of New Jersey
Sen. Robert Menendez, as they previously were in several other ill-advised
prosecutions including those of former agriculture secretary Mike Espy, former
presidential candidate John Edwards, the late Sen. Ted Stevens, former
Congressman Tom Delay, and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry. (Alan Dershowitz is
not remotely a Right Wing activist, in many senses he is a classic Liberal. And
when he finds something wrong with a government action, it's not because he's a
GOP fanatic, it's because he is a really smart guy who really understands
government and can look ahead at problems that arise from abuses. If he thinks
this is a poorly thought out prosecution, I have to believe he's right. Which
means it's almost certainly another politically motivated piece of Progressive
crap. We all have to hope that the prosecution ends up sputtering out in court
to the embarrassment of the people behind it. --Del. I'm not a Dershowitz
fan--which doesn't mean he's necessarily wrong here. ~Bob)
Hillary Clinton's
Official Presidential Bid Turns on RNC, Jeb Bush Afterburners
Excerpt: Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s
team made it official Sunday:
she is making a second run for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Satire: Hillary announces on Saturday Night Live
Too Funny: Hillary Clinton Election Video Cold Open - SNL
Excerpt: More than five years ago, a Clinton confidant matter-of-factly described
for me Hillary’s
Plan. She would resign as secretary of state after President Obama’s first
term, write a book and then run for president again. Check, check, and, with
Sunday’s official launch, check again. Her to-do list is complete. She stuck
like glue to The Plan, which required years of misleading blabber from her and
Bubba that she hadn’t decided about 2016. Fish gotta swim, and a Clinton ’s gotta run, so
there was never an iota of doubt.
Excerpt: On April 11, 1945, at 3:15PM, the U.S. 9th Armored Infantry Division arrived at a
place called Buchenwald . It would be the first
Nazi concentration camp discovered...and the smallest. As Captain Fred Keffer
describes the scene, "we came upon this large concentration camp and,
above the entrance was a German sign that read 'you get what you deserve'. What
we found there scared us more than a hail of machine gun bullets...thousands of
human skeletons walking around...we had never seen such horror...not even the
horror of war could surpass it." The Jewish prisoners, despite their
skeletal bodies, were so overwhelmed with joy that they made frantic attempts
to lift their liberators into the air, shouting with joy at their survival.
Obama, Castro hold
historic meeting, agree to foster ‘a new relationship’
Excerpt: Just before Obama’s speech, Ecuador ’s leftist President Rafael Correa, an
ally of Cuba , railed
against the embargo and recounted what he said were the sins of U.S. multinational
companies in his country. He demanded the return of U.S. occupied Guantanamo Bay in Cuba and
spoke of “North America and our America .” Obama, in what appeared
to be extemporaneous remarks that were not part of his prepared speech,
addressed Correa by name, saying he was “not interested in theoretical
arguments.” (Natural development. Castro hates America
as much as Iran
does. ~Bob)
Excerpt: Cuba 's
President is offering effusive praise for President Barack Obama and his
decision to restore ties with the communist island even as he catalogues more
than a century of grievances against the United States . According to an AFP
report he told the 35-nation summit in Panama City that "President Obama
is an honest man."... In a speech at the Summit of Americas he
thanked Obama for his historic decision to try to overcome the past, beginning
with his consideration to remove Cuba from a list of state
sponsors of terrorism. (The "comments" on this article are
fascinating....they all have drunk the Kool-Aide or the RUM and go on
rapturously about Obama and how honest and sincere and pure and inspiring he
is. Except one who says, "All politicians lie." --Barb)

‘Disgusting,
Sickening’: Sheriff Says Video Shows Spring Break Revelers Watching Apparent Gang Rape Take Place
on Crowded Beach; Two Students Charged
Excerpt: Two college students have been charged with
sexually attacking a woman on a crowded Florida
beach filled with spring break revelers who seemed to do nothing to stop what
authorities called an apparent “gang rape.” Ryan Austin Calhoun,
23, and Delonte’ Martistee, 22, were arrested Friday and charged with
sexual battery by multiple perpetrators, according to the Bay County Sheriff’s
Office. The Panama City
News Herald reports both men are students at Troy
University in Alabama . (Will Rolling Stone do an article about campus rape culture? No way--the
alleged rapists are black in this case. ~Bob)

Kern County Sheriff
A Defiant California
Maverick On Immigration
Excerpt: Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood was hiking along the
bluffs overlooking Bakersfield
last year when he got a call from Gov. Jerry Brown. "What are you trying
to do to me?" the sheriff said Brown asked him. "What
are you trying to do to me?" Youngblood shot back. A
Republican in one of the reddest counties in the state, Youngblood had riled
the Democratic governor when he announced that his department would defy the
Trust Act, a law signed by Brown that restricts cooperation between local law
enforcement officials and federal immigration agents. The sheriff said the law
put him in an impossible position, stuck between a federal program that relies
on local jails to hold inmates who might be deportable and a state law that
says inmates in jail for low-level crimes can't be detained past their release
dates.

Obama’s Iran
‘Framework’ Is a Chimera. By Andrew C. McCarthy
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/416796/obamas-iran-framework-chimera-andrew-c-mccarthy?target=author&tid=900151
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/416796/obamas-iran-framework-chimera-andrew-c-mccarthy?target=author&tid=900151
Excerpt: There is not, nor has there ever been, an Iran deal. The
“framework” the president announced last week was just a stunt. As yet another
negotiations deadline loomed with the president plainly unwilling to walk away
despite Iranian intransigence, Congress appeared poised to end the farce by
voting to stiffen sanctions. The “framework” is a feint designed to dissuade
Congress and sustain the farce. In reality, what we have is simply an Obama
administration assumption and a timetable. The assumption is that Iran will
become a nuclear-weapons power. The timetable involves dragging out the
enervating negotiations-to-nowhere for as long as it takes to inure Americans
to the prospect of a nuclear Iran .
Excerpt: Most Turks had not heard of the
magazine Adimlar ["Steps"] until March 26, when a bomb
blast ripped through its Istanbul
offices. A bomb left at its entrance exploded when the door opened, killing a
writer and wounding three, including its editor-in-chief, Ali Osman Zor. The
dead victim was his brother. Last October, CNN interviewed Zor, who described
himself as an "Islamic revolutionary" and a member of the Great
Eastern Islamic Raiders' Front, or IBDA-C in its Turkish acronym. He spent time
in prison on charges of terrorist activity. In the interview, Zor said he
supported the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), including its extreme
violent practices, and argued that the radical group's violence was a natural
response to what he claimed were decades of Western imperialism in the Middle
East.
Is your city on this
"secret" State Department list for importing Muslims?
Here are a few things about the most transparent government
in history you probably haven’t heard. Apparently, the United States is absorbing
around 100,000 Muslim immigrants ever year. According to Pew, “the estimated number of new Muslim immigrants varies
from year to year but generally has been on the rise, going from roughly 50,000
in 1992 to 100,000 in 2012. (Check cities with WR offices in your state

Is this the real
reason Obama returned that Churchill bust? By Michele Hickford
Excerpt: "The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman
must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or
a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of
Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid
qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development
of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world."
(Interesting point by Allen West's website; that a black President (who decries
perceived racist acts and inserts himself and his DOJ into legal processes
without due process, suckled on the hatred of the black liberation theology of
Rev. Wright for 20 years), should endorse and support the Islamic faith that is
based on the continuation of the institution of slavery and mistreatment
of women (and LGBTs); transforming society backwards into divisiveness,
hatred and mistrust, while screaming "Forward." --Barb. According to
Wikipedia, what follows is the original quote from the first edition of Churchill's
The River War. ~Bob. "How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays
on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man
as hydrophobia in
a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in
many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish
methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of
the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace
and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in
Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute
property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final
extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power
among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know
how to die: Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become
the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen; all know how to die; but the
influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow
it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. [5] Far
from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It
has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at
every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms
of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation
of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome ." --Churchill. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_River_War)
Excerpt: Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent confirmed that
deputy emir Ustad Ahmad Farooq and shura member Qari ‘Imran were killed in
separate strikes in January. Farooq was identified in Osama bin Laden's
documents as an up and coming al Qaeda leader.
http://www.asianews.it/news-en/Nepal,-criminal-organization-that-sold-women-to-the-Islamic-State-uncovered-33943.html
Excerpt: On April 7, the authorities of the Central
Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal
arrested a group of traffickers who sold the innocent victims for the price of
7 thousand dollars each. Following a complaint from a woman who had been
trafficked to Syria
and forced to work in the sex trade, the officers discovered a criminal
organization that deluded girls with promises of work as dancers in bars and
restaurants. In fact, on arriving in countries such as Syria , Tanzania
and Kenya ,
the victims were sold to terrorists, who used them as human shields.
We now have a genocide-enabling President. By James Lewis
Excerpt: Welcome all you good folks to the Obama Presidency,
which came in as a messianic mediagasm six years ago, and which will go out in
22 months as a genuine “first” -- the First American President to openly sign
an “agreement” with the mass-murdering mullahs in Tehran, going along with
everything they want, and getting nothing in return. This is not a joke, and it
is not an exaggeration. It is the sober truth.
Obama’s slow motion
retreat from Afghanistan
will have consequences
Excerpt: For me, the question of Afghanistan’s
future is more than a policy abstraction—it’s deeply personal. From 2006-2007,
I served with the U.S.
Army's 10th Mountain Division in southeast Afghanistan,
leading a platoon in repeated engagements with Taliban fighters along the Pakistan
border. We were deployed 485 days, with one of the highest casualty rates of
the entire war. With the Obama administration’s
slow-motion retreat from Afghanistan, it’s
hard not to look back and wonder what we were fighting for.
