Comment on The Coming
Collapse of the American
Republic
.... just finished reading it. It is quite a sobering piece
of literature and I will definitely promote it to any an all who will listen.
Thank you for raising the alarm. --Tom (All royalties go to The Injured Marine
Semper Fi Fund to help wounded veterans. --Bob)
Excerpt: The
equivalent of about 2.5 million Americans will quit their jobs,
cut their hours or stop looking for work during the next decade because of new
benefits available under the health-care law, according to recent Congressional
Budget Office estimates that have renewed debate over the program’s effect on
the economy. (the Left apparently thinks that 2.5M people stopping work and
getting health benefits--and likely other forms of the dole--is a good thing.
And when the economy tanks and the country collapses due to debt, they will
blame Wall Street, rich Republicans and the corporations that used to employ
these folks. ~Bob. Now we are at a point where some sociologists are mentioning
that the benefits of ObamaCare for the lower level income people may be good
enough that they will be able to choose to not work, or work less. Since
working more would raise their income and get them off the subsidies that get
them ObamaCare cheaply. We have seen examples in other nations where the dole
is good enough that people do choose to work less or not at all and enjoy life
in relatively good settings. Is this what we want to have happen here?
Interesting times, interesting questions. --Del )
Civil Disobedience
May Cure Obamacare. Scott Rasmussen
Excerpt: the law intentionally to do the right thing is an
act of civil disobedience, and it's possible millions of Americans will pursue
this path. Would the IRS really go after Brown because she did what was best
for her son? Is there a jury anywhere that would side with the government? he
numbers show that very few people without insurance are signing up under the
president's plan. There were tens of millions of uninsured before the law was
implemented, and there are tens of millions after. (ere is the thought that
I've had in the back of my mind as a question, for some time. If Rasmussen is
right, and the number of Americans who decide to do what is right for them and
their families, in violation of the ACA, is large enough, the system does
crash. The IRS can't bring hundreds of thousands of people into court, and if
they start levying the huge fines on that many people, the screaming across the
country will wake the dead. It'll even wake the dead of heart, those
politicians wrapped in the comfort of being in Congress, and they will have to
act, and again, the system will go down. don't know if he's right, if there
will be enough people in revolt to trigger the collapse. But it's possible, and
we can hope. --Del )
Fact-Checker: 'Four Pinocchios' for Latest WH Obamacare
Claim. By Guy Benson
Excerpt: The president says his signature program has signed
up more than nine million Americans so far through the state exchanges and
Medicaid expansion. ... From the WaPo Fact Checker: Even if one took the high
end of these estimates, the most one could claim is that about 4 million
people have gained insurance because the Affordable Care Act, but that’s being
extraordinarily generous. ... This has now become a Four Pinocchio
violation.
Administration announces
another delay in ObamaCare employer mandate
Excerpt: The Obama administration announced another delay
Monday in the requirement on businesses to provide health coverage, giving some
employers a reprieve next year while phasing in the mandate for
others. The administration had already delayed the implementation of the
so-called employer mandate by a year, presumably pushing the requirements off
until 2015. (For "settled law," Obamacare sure does change a
lot. Probably because they don't want more disasters until after the fall
elections. ~Bob)
Accenture, hired to
help fix HealthCare.gov, has had a series of stumbles
Imagine that--who would ave guessed? ~Bob. Excerpt:
Accenture, the contractor urgently tapped to help fix the federal
health-insurance Web site, is a favorite of corporate America but has
a record that includes troubled projects and allegations of ethical lapses, a
review of the consulting giant’s history shows.

School sorry for
Black History lunch menu of watermelon, fried chicken. By Ashley M. Williams,
and Jolie Lee
Excerpt: A Northern California
private school apologized for a lunch menu that offered fried chicken, corn
bread and watermelon to celebrate Black History Month.
School administrators for Carondelet
High School , an all-girls Catholic
school in Concord , Calif. , said they did not approve the menu,
and it remains unclear who came up with the idea.
New law offers
protection to abused Native American women
Excerpt: For decades, when a Native American woman has been
assaulted or raped by a man who is non-Indian, she has had little or no
recourse. Under long-standing law in Indian country, reservations are sovereign
nations with their own police departments and courts in charge of prosecuting
crimes on tribal land. But Indian police have lacked the legal authority to
arrest non-Indian men who commit acts of domestic violence against native women
on reservations, and tribal courts have lacked the authority to prosecute the
men.
Excerpt: I'm a "boomer". I am among those born
between 1946 and 1964. Just about every day I read something from a boomer
criticizing the "younger" generation. I also see some pretty dim Gen
X and Gen Y'ers complaining about having to fund Social Security for the
"blue hairs". There is more than enough blame to go around for
everyone but Gen X and Gen Y do have a few points.
Christian Arab IDF
soldier: “I would sacrifice my life for the sake of the State of Israel.”
By Robert Spencer
Excerpt: This video gives the lie to the “Palestinian” jihad
propaganda about Israel
being an “apartheid” state, as well as to the all too common characterization
of the Israeli defense against the “Palestinian” jihad as the “Arab/Israeli
conflict.” Many Christian Arabs do not support the jihad against Israel , and
many non-Arab Muslims do support it. The conflict that Israel faces is not with Arabs as
such, but with Islamic jihadists who believe that its existence is an insult to
Islam.

tourists triggered Jama Masjid attack

Excerpt: Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorist Yasin Bhatkal
organized the attack on Delhi 's
Jama Masjid in 2010 as he was upset with tourists entering the mosque in skimpy
clothes. This is what Yasin told the National Investigation Agency (NIA)
following his arrest from the India-Nepal border last year.
Excerpt: The couple had fled in order to get married, but
the girl’s family lured them back. This is an Islamic phenomenon, and can only
be stopped if it is confronted as such. Muslims commit 91 percent of honor killings worldwide. A
manual of Islamic law certified as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy by Al-Azhar University , the most respected authority
in Sunni Islam, says that “retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a
human being purely intentionally and without right.” However, “not subject to
retaliation” is “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing
their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.” (‘Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2). In
other words, someone who kills his child incurs no legal penalty under Islamic
law.

senior official source told Egyptian daily newspaper Al-Masry
Al-Youm, noting that the Egyptian and Russian sides reached agreement on
all details of the agreement over the past few weeks. The source, who asked not
to be named, said the two Gulf kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and the UAE
played a “vital role” in sealing the deal. The official revealed that the first
tranche of Russian weapons to Egypt will be delivered before
mid-2014. (The result of "leading from behind" is increased

Simulates Attack on Israel ,
US. In latest belligerent move, Iranian state television airs documentary

How's that peace deal with Iran working out for you, Barack?
The rest of us are scared. ~Bob) Excerpt: Iranian state television ran a
documentary showing simulated air attacks on Israel and
the United States Friday, as revealed in an inflammatory clip
uploaded to YouTube. The clip shows Iranian drones and missiles carrying
out simulated strikes on the American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln,
striking American military targets in the Persian Gulf and
downing US aircraft. It was aired just one day before Iran 's Revolutionary Guard issued
threats Saturday, warning the US that
its drones and missiles could reach American vessels in the Persian Gulf .
Excerpt:….Parchin has long been suspected as a site where
nuclear bomb triggering devices are being tested, a suspicion
supported by repeated satellite evidence
last August and in August 2012.
The denied access is particularly concerning following a
Pentagon report last week, that acknowledges the US would have no clue if Iran
acquired nuclear weapons. The declaration that Parchin will be
barred comes just nine days before negotiations over a long-term agreement
between Iran and
world powers begins. (Good thing Obama freed up all those millions of dollars
for them to make them more cooperative. ~Bob)
Bill Would Turn
Employers of Illegals into Criminals
Excerpt: The Ministerial Law Committee on
Sunday authorized for a Knesset reading a law that would substantially
increase the punishments meted out to employers of illegal workers….The law
would increase the level of offense in employing illegals, turning it from a
civil offense to a crime. The new law would allow judges to sentence not only
employers, but those who transport or house illegals, to up to four years in
prison plus a large fine.

An Immigration Morality Tale. By Victor Davis Hanson
Excerpt: are executive orders overriding federal immigration
law to extend amnesty to foreign nationals, without legal residence, and to
continue their educations, there are also de facto all sorts of un-Dream Acts
that simply allow anyone wishing to enter the United States without much audit.
In other words, one of the strangest things about illegal immigration is that a
nation that is monitored, taped, videoed, and bugged, that is struggling now
with the AP, IRS, and NSA scandals whose common theme is excessive government
intrusions in our private lives, knows absolutely nothing about those who
arrive illegally into the U.S. (A detailed study of an event involving an
illegal immigrant, which really serves an important purpose, to demonstrate how
costly illegals are to society. As someone wrote recently, the nation that went
in three years from being unprepared for war to producing hundreds of tanks and
planes every single day most certainly can arouse itself and find ways to
tighten our southern border to where the number managing to get in will drop
from hundreds per day to perhaps dozens per month, or fewer. What is needed is
a President and Congress with the will to wake up and get it done. --Del )
Excerpt: Historian Victor Davis Hanson recently gave one of
the finest and most memorable presentations on the subject of immigration. America could
be on “a path to Armageddon,” given the blend of relativism, racial
preferences, and nullified immigration laws, he warned in an interview with
Mark Levin. Hanson is a military historian who taught the classics and is now a
Senior Fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution. Winner of the prestigious
National Humanities Medal (2007) and the Bradley Prize (2008), his writing is
generally seen as well reasoned and insightful. (Another common sense
commentary on immigration. --Del )
Chilling legal memo
from Obama DOJ justifies assassination of US citizens
Excerpt: Since then, senior Obama officials including
Attorney General Eric Holder and John Brennan, Obama's top terrorism adviser
and his current nominee to lead the CIA, have explicitly argued that the
president is and should be vested with this power. Meanwhile, a Washington Post article from October reported that the
administration is formally institutionalizing this president's power to decide
who dies under the Orwellian title "disposition matrix." (I don't
think Stalin called it that, but the action is the same. --JB)
Illegal Immigrant Sentenced For Sexual Abuse of 11-Year-Old

Excerpt: An illegal immigrant from Honduras ,
39-year-old Hernan Ramirez-Ortega, has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for
sexually abusing an 11-year-old Tohono O'odham girl. He was also sentenced for
sexually abusing a woman living on the Gila River Indian Reservation. (Just a

AR-15 Cosmetic Redesign Makes Gun Suddenly Legal in New York , Doesn't Change
Firing Power. By Christine
Rousselle
Excerpt: The manufacturers of the popular AR-15 rifle have
made some slight cosmetic changes that have made the gun legal in New York state. The
actual firing power of the gun has not changed, but the gun no longer includes
a pistol grip and now resembles "an odd paintball gun." The modified
gun also lacks a bayonet lug. 9as long as it doesn't look like a scary military
rifle, no sweat. ~Bob)
Communism Was the Worst
Mistake in Human History. Do NBC Sports Anchors Know This? By Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt. (Worth subscribing to. It's free. ~Bob)
Excerpt: What you think depends upon what you know. You're a
smart, well-read, well-educated audience. (And handsome, too!) When I say
"Communism," or more specifically, the "Soviet
Union ," a lot probably comes to mind. You may think of
the occupation of Eastern Europe. Or themassive internal forced migrations. Or the Ukranian famine, which killed 7 to 11 million people in a
two-year period. Or the system of several hundred gulags and labor colonies, which imprisoned and in many cases killed 14 million people. Or
the extensive, brutal, far-reaching and ruthless secret police,
the KGB, the NKVD and others. Or the Katyn Massacre, killing about 22,000. The treatment of German civilians after World War Two. The
deployment of nuclear missiles to Cuba , bringing the world to the
brink of nuclear conflict in 1963. The KGB's active support of terror groups around the world. The unprovoked invasion of Afghanistan. Or the shooting down of KAL 007. Or their callous attempt to cover
up the catastrophic disaster at the Chernobyl
nuclear plant, not mentioning anything to the public for nearly three days.
I'm sure you can think of other glaring examples of the Soviet
Union 's epic, unparalleled, brutal reign of terror over a large
chunk of the globe for decades. The point is that a LOT
comes immediately to mind. Friday night's opening ceremony of the Olympics
in Sochi
offered a ludicrously rewritten version of Russian history, in which some of
humanity's most bloody chapters were reimagined as Mardi Gras in Candyland.
"A bittersweet moment," declared NBC anchor Meredith Vieira. And I
lost it, needing to break character on Twitter from my persona of a
staunchly loyal Russian apparatchik. Can it really be that Vieira genuinely
believes the end of the Soviet Union was a
"bittersweet" moment? If one of Putin's goons was in the booth with
her, glaring at her menacingly with his hand on the grip of his silenced
pistol, I'll forgive her.
Excerpt: Forgive and forget? Not Bill and Hillary. A system
of political rewards and punishments devised by the political power couple set
aside “a special circle of Clinton
hell . . . for people who had endorsed [President] Obama,” according to “HRC,”
a new book by Politico former White House bureau chief Jonathan Allen and Amie
Parnes of The Hill. The most helpful Clintonistas were rated “1” under the Clintons ’ rating system,
while turncoat former allies, such as John Kerry, received “7’s.”
Excerpt: Eurosceptic anti-immigrant movements across Europe received a boost on Sunday
when Switzerland voted by
the slimmest of margins to impose quotas on newcomers to the country, thrusting

Virus Advances
Through East Caribbean
Excerpt: A painful mosquito-borne virus common in Africa and
Asia has advanced quickly throughout the eastern Caribbean
in the past two months, raising the prospect that a once-distant illness will
become entrenched throughout the region, public health experts say. (Well, the
sick, like the millions dead in Africa from malaria, can thank the Progressive
ban on DDT to save the birds--so the birds can now be chopped up by the
Progressives' green wind farms. ~Bob)
American al-Qaida
Member Is Potential Drone Strike Target
Excerpt: The Obama administration is debating whether to
target an American member of al-Qaida for a drone strike, according to U.S. officials. The Justice Department has not
finished building a case against the alleged terrorist, who is said to be
actively planning terrorist attacks against Americans overseas. President
Obama's new policy states that American suspected terrorists abroad could only
be killed by the military, as opposed to the CIA. This policy shift creates a
dilemma for the administration since the suspected terrorist is located in a
country that refuses American military action on its soil.
Obama Lied With Every Word. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: Some of the policies that Obama kept insisting were
neither liberal nor conservative, neither Democrat nor Republican, included
raising the minimum wage, raising taxes and yet another stimulus plan. These
policies may be archetypically liberal, but Obama carries his own reality with
him, his own mathematics, his own history, his own dictionary and his own moral
code which he adapts to the moment.
Senator Tom Harkin —- Once Bitten Twice Duped. By Humberto Fontova
Excerpt: If Justin Beiber had returned from Cuba smitten
with its healthcare and calling it “awesome!” most Americans would
understand. But Iowa Senator and Obamacare champion Tom Harkin serves
as chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. He just
returned from an official tour of Stalinist Cuba hailing
its healthcare as “quite remarkable.” (Harkin was exposed by Barry
Goldwater as a phony Vietnam
"hero," but it didn't hurt his political career. http://instapundit.com/archives/017246.php.

The Affordable Care
Act and the Rule of Law
Excerpt: The Affordable Care Act (ACA) represents disrespect
for the rule of law, say Christina and Timothy Sandefur, attorneys at the
Goldwater Institute and the Pacific Legal Foundation, respectively. The
Affordable Care Act has not merely been a Web site disaster. Its problems began
at its passage when it mandated the purchase of insurance or imposed a
"penalty." When the law reached the Supreme Court, five justices
recast that penalty as a "tax," thereby upholding the law. (Tax bills
must originate in the House, according to that "out dated, living
document, the US Constitution. Obamacare originated in the Senate. ~Bob)
Castro Eyewitness to Oregon Senate: “Marxism
is Not Coming, Marxism is HERE”
Excerpt: Imagine fleeing a Communist regime to escape to
freedom…and then watching that freedom slip away. (Imagine how those from the
former USSR
feel seeing the same thing. --JB).
Excerpt: This week the Republicans all but ruled out passing
immigration reform this year. They cite a lack of confidence that any
immigration laws passed by Congress would simply not be enforced; especially
the punitive aspects of the law that might stem the wave of invasion. I'm not
surprised. It was only last week, during the State of The Union speech, that Obama pledged to
issue executive orders to achieve any socialist goals that the Congress should
fail to act upon. As he has done for five years now, Obama has declared himself
Emperor and used his dozens of Czars to circumvent both the Judicial and
Legislative arms of our republic.
White House's Senate
strategy: Keep Obama away
Excerpt: The White House and Senate Democrats are preparing
an extensive midterm campaign strategy built around one unavoidable fact:
Hardly any candidates in the most competitive states want President Barack
Obama anywhere near them. POLITICO spoke with nearly every incumbent up for
reelection and aspiring Democratic Senate candidates across the country, but
only a handful gave an unequivocal “yes” when asked whether they wanted Obama
to come campaign with them.
