Obamacare Changes in One Infographic. By Katie
Pavlich
Excerpt: The announcement came after a long list of delays,
27 of them, that the White House has unilaterally made to the law without the
consent of Congress. Now, the RNC has released a handy infographic to keep
track of it all.
Excerpt: More than two months after the White House declared
Healthcare.gov "fixed"
-- and four months after it was rolled out in spite of failed
tests -- the site is still causing "vexing"
problems for an untold number of potential consumers, according to USA
Today. Health insurance expert Bob Laszewski listed
the waysin which the website remains under construction or buggy, but for
some customers, basic functions aren't yet operating properly:
Why the White House Is Panicking. By John C.
Goodman
Excerpt: All of this is lawlessness of course. The statute
clearly says that the mandate is supposed to kick in this year. So why is
President Obama taking the extra-constitutional step of letting employers
temporarily off the hook? The reason is not hard to understand. Millions of
workers are in danger of losing their jobs or their other fringe benefits (such
as matches to a retirement savings plan) or being forced to work part-time. Many
of them are employees of hotels, restaurants and large retail stores.
And these workers just might take out their anger on Democratic candidates in
next fall's election.
Excerpt: The disgraceful abandonment of our Ambassador and
those brave ex-SEALs who fought to their deaths to save others in that compound
is nothing short of dereliction-of-duty. Additionally, the patently absurd
cover-up scenario that was fabricated in the aftermath was an outright lie in
attempt to shield the President and the Secretary of State from responsibility.
... Colonel Phil “Hands” Handley, USAF (Ret.) is credited with the highest
speed air-to-air gun kill in the history of aerial combat. He flew
operationally for all but 11 months of a 26-year career, in aircraft such as
the F-86 Sabre, F-15 Eagle, and the C-130A Hercules. Additionally, he flew 275
combat missions during two tours in Southeast Asia
in the F-4D and F-4E. His awards include 21 Air Medals, 3 Distinguished Flying
Crosses, and the Silver Star.
Important: Obama soliciting new policy options for Syria
from top aides as peace talks flounder
Excerpt: With U.S.-backed peace talks floundering, President
Obama is soliciting new policy options for Syria from top aides, American
officials said Friday, as the administration also tries to assure delivery of
desperately needed humanitarian supplies. (So much for the great diplomatic
triumph of Syria .
See, the Syrians, Russian, al Qaeda, Iranians, and assorted Jihadist would all
be cooperating nicely if Obama wasn't black. ~Bob)
Important: Senior al-Qaeda figure leaves Iran amid a
series of departures by terrorist suspects
Excerpt: A senior al-Qaeda figure with close ties to the
terrorist group’s current leader has left Iran ,
where he had lived for years after fleeing American forces in Afghanistan in 2001, according to former and
current U.S.
intelligence officials. (He is probably the "new, moderate Iran 's peace
envoy. After all, Obama's great diplomacy has made Iran
moderate, and his lead-from-behind, unauthorized war in Libya has made
it a safer place for the world, right? And they won't learn. Obama's foreign
policy would be funny if it didn't mean that rmericans are going to
die--perhaps a city full. ~Bob)
Excerpt: Just when you thought relations between the US and Afghan governments couldn't sink any
lower, along comes the spokesman for Afghanistan 's
High Peace Council, who blames the US
for insecurity in Afghanistan
and praises Osama bin Laden.

Radical Syrian Deletes
Suicide Bombing Fatwa

website.
Excerpt: Suspected Islamist militants have raided a Nigerian
village and murdered dozens, according to witnesses. The gunmen reportedly
rounded up a group of men in Izghe village and shot them, before going
door-to-door and killing anyone they found.
Excerpt: The unimaginable horror of this is compounded by
the world’s indifference. The few who dare to call attention to jihad attacks
like this one are vilified, mocked, shunned, ridiculed, and defamed, even as
such attacks multiply and the body count mounts ever higher. Right now Western
governments have apparently decided that jihad attacks like this one can’t
happen in their countries, and so don’t matter, and that when they take place
in faraway lands such as Nigeria, they need not disturb the comforting fictions
about Islam’s jihad doctrine that form the cornerstone of so much of their
domestic and foreign policy.
Pakistan: Devout Muslim students stone other students for
celebrating Valentine’s Day, fire on police, set hostel ablaze. By Robert Spencer
Excerpt: Islamic supremacists don’t just want to bypass and
denigrate Valentine’s Day. They want you to do so also, and if you
don’t, the stones and bullets will start flying. Here again we see that
morality in Islamic culture is not so much a matter of virtue freely chosen,
but of people living in terror of committing a transgression that could get
them killed. Contrary to the fond of imaginings of non-Muslims such as Robert
P. George and Dinesh D’Souza, it is not a Republic of Virtue ,
but an Empire of Fear.
Christian threats
force Muslim convoy to turn back in CAR exodus. Peacekeepers prevent crammed
cars from leaving Bangui for
fear of attack, and evidence emerges of village massacre.
Excerpt: Thousands of Muslims tried to flee the capital of the Central African Republic (CAR) on
Friday, only for their mass convoy of cars and trucks to be turned back as
crowds of angry Christians taunted: "We're going to kill you all."
The drama unfolded as Amnesty International said it had uncovered evidence of a
fresh massacre in a village where the sole surviving Muslim was an orphaned
girl aged about 11, and France said it would send an extra 400 peacekeeping
troops. Some cars were crammed with as many as 10 people as the convoy made its
way through Bangui ,
the second such attempt to escape in a week, the Associated Press
reported. (When you sow the wind with religious based violence, you reap the
whirlwind, as it produces a reaction. And neither side makes a distinction
between the guilty and the innocent. See the next article. ~Bob.)
13 bodies found in
former rebel camp in Bangui
Excerpt: Thirteen decomposing corpses have been discovered
in a camp housing ex-rebels in the strife-torn Central African Republic , a
prosecutor said on Friday. The corpses, some mere skeletons, were found in a
disused fuel tank at a camp of former fighters of the mostly Muslim Seleka
rebel group whose coup a year ago sparked the country’s descent into chaos. Killings
and pillaging by ex-Seleka rebels following the coup led to the formation of
mainly Christians, whose attacks in recent weeks have led many minority Muslims
to flee the country.
"Islamist groups

"Ansar al Bayt al Maqdis", one of the Sinai Islamist groups fighting
in Egypt , have admitted to
plotting to blow up synagogues in Cairo and Alexandria .
Seattle: Muslim who tried to burn down crowded gay
nightclub said “homosexuals should be exterminated.” By Robert Spencer
Excerpt: Pamela Geller is spot on: “Where are the left wing,
the gay and LGBT organizations denouncing the Islamic texts that inspire such
mayhem and murder of gays? Where is that fierce gay leadership condemning
Muslim oppression of gays under the sharia? Where are those brave activists who rushed to condemn me when I ran an ad
campaign highlighting Muslim oppression of gays under the sharia? Gay
organizations in America

‘honour’ in Pakistan each
year, making Pakistan one of
the most dangerous countries for women,” said Dr Muazzam Nasrullah, a public
health specialist teaching at Emory and West
Virginia University , USA ,

border was struck by an explosion today that killed at least three people and
wounded more than a dozen. The targeted bus, which was carrying tourists who
had recently been at the famous St. Catherine's monastery in central Sinai, was
preparing to cross into Israel .

How Al Qaeda Is Winning the War on Terror. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: The debate over whether Al Qaeda is on the path to
victory or defeat is also a debate over what Al Qaeda is. A vocal school of
thought among some foreign experts of the left was that there was no Al Qaeda.
The updated version of that thesis was embraced by Obama and some of his
subordinates looking to do an end zone dance and hang up the Mission
Accomplished banner by celebrating victory over the core of Al Qaeda and
dismissing its affiliates, some of which number in the tens of thousands and
are fighting to take over entire countries, as Obama put it, as Jayvee players
in Lakers uniforms. (To be fair, Obama should know a JV player when he sees
one. Say, in the mirror. ~Bob)

clear path to success, captured in a Guide, to preclude bankruptcy - of
all sorts.
Excerpt: This weekend the Associated Press posted a news
item about a national survey indicating Americans are more prejudiced toward
Blacks and Hispanics than they were four years ago when Obama took office. Surveyors
were amazed that the election of a Black President had failed to bridge the gap
between caucasians and Blacks and Hispanics. The surveyors, in an effort to
find answers, turned to social scientists and academic elites. Both of these so
called experts attributed the increase in prejudice to Americans just being
"slow learners". Not one of these "elite" experts were
willing to consider that, perhaps, the actions of this President might have
been a causative factor.

By Charles Moore

Excerpt: Last week, David Cameron said that we have ‘seven months to save the most extraordinary country in history’. He meant theUnited Kingdom . It was a powerful
speech, part of a welcome and overdue campaign to make us all think about what
is at stake in the referendum on Scottish independence. It seems strange to
argue that the loss of less than 10 per cent of the population would bring this
country to an end, and yet I do really suspect it might be so. Mr Cameron did
not touch on the question of what the nation, minus Scotland , might be called, perhaps
because he does not know and is fearful of making plans for such an
eventuality.

An Executive Unbound:
The Obama Administration’s Unilateral Actions
Excerpt: In our constitutional system, Congress is charged
with enacting the law, and the Executive is charged with enforcing it. The
individual liberties of all Americans are at stake when one branch usurps the
role of another. As the Framers knew well, the “accumulation of all powers … in
the same hands” is the “very definition of tyranny.” (As we well know, the II
Amendment was made law by our founding fathers, thereby confirming our
God-given, inalienable right that individuals would have the
ability and final recourse of defending themselves against a tyrannical

the Barack Obama presidency is an intentional corrosion for its own political
gain of public faith in so many American institutions, among them Congress, the
Supreme Court and the media. If numerous sectors of society are feuding or
distrustful of each other, then a well-controlled central authority like a
chief executive can more easily rule the pieces. It's classic Chicago politics, the way the mayor there
controls the city's feuding neighborhood fiefdoms of Democrat pols and workers.
(Another incisive article, perfectly zeroed in on the strategy and tactics so
effectively used by Mr. Obama et al. Moving to intimidate media outlets with
a nationwide "study" of newsroom values, etc, is absolutely
beautiful practice of the principles used in so many dictatorships. And a very
independent body, Reporters Without Borders, fully credits the sharp drop in
press freedom in this country. Can this awaken even classic Liberal thinkers to
the downsides of our current government? --Del )

Hoffman’s selfish

sad, certainly not tragic. It was just the death of a selfish man who
decided that mainlining heroin for the zubby buzz was more important than his
three young children, ages 10, 7 and 5; more important than his work as a
superb actor; and in the end, even more important than his life. He didn’t

and government sales, because, like the War on Poverty, government has screwed

habits. But if I could push a button and kill every drug dealer--murderers all

'Zero Tolerance'
Strikes Again. From The Patriot Post
So-called "zero tolerance" policies are all the
rage in our nation's public schools, as educators try to come up with some way
to deal with cultural degradation that they themselves play a large part in
creating. The policy usually ends up making administrators look stupid,
however, as was the case when a Chicago sixth-grader was recently interrogated
and suspended for voluntarily turning in to security guards a toy gun
he accidentally still had in his jacket pocket. While Barack Obama's city
suffers a perpetual blood bath from real (and, we might add, often illegal)
guns in the hands of gangbangers, the school has ensured that at least one
"dangerous criminal" is off the streets.
One of the great leftist causes of the last few decades has
been the minimum wage. We're told that the only way for the economy to take off
is for businesses to be forced to pay more for labor. Yet in at least one case,
it's a "do what I say, not what I do" proposition. According to the
Bureau of Labor Statistics, Hollywood pays at or
below the minimum wage more than twice as often as the national workforce in
general, and the median wage for hourly workers in Hollywood is $2.74 per hour less than the
national average. Hypocrisy, thy name is Hollywood .

Economic Gains from
Eliminating Travel Visas
Excerpt: By eliminating travel visas, the United States
could see an increase of 45 million to 67 million tourists each year, which
adds up to somewhere between $90 billion and $123 billion in visitor spending.

restrictions hurt the economy, visa policies that restrict travel to the United States
prevent important economic activity and wealth maximization. 9but for security,
you'd have to keep them for some countries. That the Left would never permit,

Primer: Earned Income Tax Credit and the Minimum Wage.
By Ben Gitis
Excerpt: Would a hike in the minimum wage help those in
poverty? This remains highly contested, especially in academia. Several argue
that increasing the minimum wage would do little to combat poverty and that
further improving the earned income tax credit (EITC) would be much more
effective. The EITC better targets families in poverty and incentivizes people
to work, the key to moving out of poverty. Those without jobs are four times
more likely to be in poverty than those who are employed.
Excerpt: On September 9, 1965, Navy Cmdr. James Bond
Stockdale was flying his A-4 Skyhawk on a mission over North Vietnam , just days after the Gulf of Tonkin incident, when his plane took
fire and hurtled down. Forced to eject with seconds to spare, he landed with
severe injuries: his left leg bent sideways by 60 degrees and his kneecap
smashed; his left shoulder dislocated, rendering his arm useless; his back, he
thought, likely was broken. Stockdale was quickly discovered by villagers, who
beat him and dragged him through the streets until he was delivered to his
ultimate destination: the Hoa Lo prison, or, as it was derisively known among
the American POWs held there, the Hanoi Hilton. (The title is inaccurate,
everybody broke at some point, skillful prolonged torture will break anyone
eventually. But they all recovered and always fought back, they never caved in
to the dominance of their captors. How they could do that is almost beyond
understanding. They were the best ever, and should be a source of enormous
pride to all Americans. (Not to mention total contempt for their torturers, who
have never paid any price for their barbarous acts. Interesting the the world
worries about men living in comparative luxury in Gitmo, but never paid any
real attention to what the communists did to our men during the war.) --Del )
Excerpt: The cause is no mystery. An aging population and
higher health spending automatically increase budget outlays, which induce the
president and Congress to curb spending on almost everything else, from defense
to food stamps. Over the next decade, all the government’s projected program
growth stems from Social Security and health care, including the Affordable
Care Act.

Excerpt: If you've been keeping up with Obama's attention
grabbing executive order to raise the minimum wage you know that only 4% of all
jobs are paid at minimum wage. You should also know that every economic study
done over the past 70 years shows that raising the minimum wage more than a few
percent always results in fewer minimum jobs available. As we've mentioned here
before, minimum wage jobs are meant for young folks; it has always been
intended for kids without works skills. No rocket science required here…..it
simply teaches a kid how to show up for work on time, work as a team, and learn
a few basic skills.
Excerpt: On February 6, 2014, NPR listeners heard
this report about the voting rights act. A portion of the story
involves Macon , GA , where I live. NPR did its listeners a
great disservice in how it presented the story. But don’t believe partisan
conservative me. An
attorney for the local Democratic Party is calling foul too. As Dave Oedel,
the local Democratic Party attorney (who, being that Macon is Macon and it is a
small world, is also my neighbor and constitutional law professor from law
school), points out a number of facts that directly contradict the premise of
the NPR story. (NPR is liberal. Facts don't matter, only intentions and feeling
good about them. ~Bob)
Do you know more
about science and technology than the average American?
13 for 13. ~Bob. The sad things is that with a quiz that
easy, only 7% of adults in this country can get them all right. Science is not
taught anywhere nearly as well as it should be. And scientific reasoning and
the cultivation of objectivity are hardly even taught to science majors. Nor is
the proper use of Statistics. And we spend more per pupil in public education
than most other Western countries. What a lousy situation. --Del

Chick-fil-A's Christian Charity in Ice Storm
Excerpt: Audrey Pitt, manager of the Chick-fil-A
described the conditions: “Our store is about a mile and a half from the
interstate and it took me two hours to get there. It was a parking lot as far
as I could see. At one point there were more people walking than driving.”
Meadows and his employees fired up the kitchen and began preparing
chicken sandwiches as fast as they could. They prepared several hundred
sandwiches and then Meadows and his staff headed out and began distributing the
hot meals to the stranded motorists on both sides of Highway 280. (OK, here are
some very Christian Americans acting out the highest principles of Christianity
and American generosity to the needy, and somehow, it never made the front page
of the NYTimes. Or any page. Or NBC/CBS/ABS/ et al. Just got totally lost in
all the many stories of the stranded motorists in the horrible weather. But you
might have thought it was newsworthy, wouldn't you? Somehow, all those editors
and reporters and TV talking heads just couldn't find time or space for it. That's
our media, thoughtful, conscientious, always seeking the truth, utterly
unbiased..... Sure. Right. And maybe you want to buy this nice bridge I
have available up in
