Old Jarhead's Political SitRep for April 20, 2013
Robert A. Hall
No idea of motive
As I worked my way through the back streets and parking lots of flooded Des Plaines , IL Friday morning to get to work, I turned on NPR to see if there was an update on what the TV news had said about Boston . The announcer said that the two suspects were from Chechnya , but that “we must emphasize over and over we have no idea of their motive.” Two murderers from a Muslim country known for Islamic violence. Huh. Not a clue. Maybe they belonged to the Islamic Tea Party of Chechnya? Regardless, if you were a home owner in Watertown MA the last two days, and didn’t own a gun, I’ll bet you wished you did. ~Bob.
Well, this is awkward
I seem to remember Obama claiming the Boston marathon bombing was an act of terrorism. Now we find out the two bombers were from Chechnya . That's right, a couple of Muslims. That means, just like Ft. Hood , it can't have been a terrorist act. But what could it be? Not workplace violence... what could it possibly have been? – LLW
One brother was born in the predominantly Muslim Kyrgyzstan , while one seems to have been born in Russia . Kyrgyzstan was once a republic of the USSR . Chechnya is still a Russian republic but has been sporadically at war with Russia , desiring independence.
I was impressed by the FBI agent interviewed on cable news last night. He said the fact that a circuit board was found as part of the bomb remains suggests foreign involvement since domestic terrorists rarely use circuit boards. I am even more impressed this morning. The leftist press had written extensively of the possibility of rightwing terror.
I am sure they will apologize right away. It's fine, guys, most of us don't read your stuff anyway. --Don Hank
Chechen Bros in Boston ?
Interesting that not one news program so far that I've seen has mentioned that Chechnya is the home of Caucasian Muslims. –Del

Apparently, the terror suspect hijacked a car with a "COEXIST" bumper sticker. Ironic.

Dzokhar Tsarnaev is Chechnyn for “Bill Ayers.” – After spending 4 days speculating about Tea Party tax day terrorism, the media will now switch to "we can never know his motive" mode.

Friend who thinks I’m nuts for owning a gun just asked me to take her to the range to learn. “I’d want one if I were in Boston today.”

Let us never forget the horrific slaughter of school children in Beslan by Chechen terrorists. At least 334 dead incl 186 children
Show me your shocked face. ~Bob. Excerpt: His "World view" is listed as "Islam" and his "Personal priority" is "career and money". He has posted links to videos of fighters in the Syrian civil war and to Islamic web pages with titles like "Salamworld, my religion is Islam" and "There is no God but Allah, let that ring out in our hearts".
Bombing Suspects Lauded Jihad
Excerpt: Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed overnight as police closed in on him and the hunt for Dzhokhar remains active. An MIT security officer was shot and killed in the firefight. This is believed to be Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's Youtube page. Several of the posts feature radical Islamic rhetoric. In addition, a graphic video about Syria appears on Tsarnaev's page on a Russian version of Facebook.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev was probably named for Tamerlane
Excerpt: Tamerlane was a Muslim and great folk hero across Asia and the Muslim world in his time. … Tamerlane has been called the most pointlessly destructive of nomadic horse chieftains of the steppes. He is most famous for leaving behind pyramids of skulls in the places he conquered from Baghdad to New Delhi .

AUDIO: NPR says April “big” month for right wing terrorism. By Ben Howe
Excerpt: Revealing Politics has posted audio of NPR correspondent Dina Temple-Raston who claims that investigators are leaning towards a domestic terrorism because of the “timing.” Specifically that April is big for right-wing terrorism because of things like Columbine & Hitler’s birthday.

Staggering Statistics on Muslims Killing Muslims
Excerpt: “Some 11,000,000 Muslims have been violently killed since 1948, of which 35,000, or 0.3 percent, died during the sixty years of fighting Israel , or just 1 out of every 315 Muslim fatalities. In contrast, over 90 percent of the 11 million who perished were killed by fellow Muslims.”
Jordanian Journalist: The Jews And The American Right Are Behind Boston Bombing, Just As They Were Behind 9/11
Excerpt: "They [the Jews] made an alliance with the Nazi Hitler, who is considered to be the first Western leader who promised Palestine to them. They agreed to hand over the old and sick Jews, to be disposed of as Hitler saw fit, and in return, he allowed them to send the young Jews to Palestine . I do not know if [Hitler] did this knowingly, or was misled by the Jews, because after the war the Jews looted Germany on the grounds that Hitler had burned the Jews…” (This guy would be welcome at an anti-Israel rally on a US campus. ~Bob.)
Worth Reading : Down the Drain: How the federal government flushed away the $833 billion stimulus. By Peter Suderman
Excerpt: The stimulus, Obama vowed, would “put people back to work and get our economy moving again,” creating between 2 million and 2.5 million jobs. Instead, the economy followed the money right down the drain.
What went wrong? Plenty. The stimulus was rushed to passage based on economic assumptions that remain hotly contested. Its implementation was marred by politics, logistics, and red tape. And the aid it directed toward the country’s least well off may have undermined the very recovery it was designed to hasten. This is what happens when politicians insist that something big must be done, even if they’re not sure what that something should be.
Excerpt: Following California , Washington became the second state to institute a Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) in 2006. The RPS requires qualified utilities to pursue cost-effective conservation and mandates that 15 percent of the state's electricity generation must be produced from renewable sources by 2020. A new study by the Washington Policy Center and the Beacon Hill Institute analyzes the economic effect of RPS mandates and concludes that energy prices will rise. … The law will raise the cost of electricity by a minimum of $675 million in 2020, which will hurt Washington 's households and businesses.
Muslim Brotherhood Jihadis Snubbed at Boston Memorial Service. By John Guandolo
Excerpt: Noticeably absent from this event, was any prominent Muslim Brotherhood leader. While one local Muslim Brother was believed to have been spotted at the service, none was invited to speak, nor were any prominent in the service in any way. The leaders of the largest Islamic organization in Boston , the Islamic Society of Boston – an Al Qaeda & Muslim Brotherhood operation - were not invited to attend the event. This is extremely noteworthy as this is the first time since 9/11 that an interfaith event has not had Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood leaders prominently involved in the service.
Send Sirota an e-mail:
Excerpt: Sirota’s repugnant blathering continues:…regardless of your particular party affiliation, if you care about everything from stopping war to reducing the defense budget to protecting civil liberties to passing immigration reform, you should hope the bomber was a white domestic terrorist. Why? Because only in that case will privilege work to prevent the Boston attack from potentially undermining progress on those other issues. (Here is the email address of the kneejerker who wrote that he hoped the marathon bomber was a white conservative who hates big government. His wish did not come true. The bombers were Chechens (Chechnya is predominantly Muslim). How about dropping him a line. Don't be unnecessarily polite. [Example: Hello David: Sorry the bombers didn't meet your expectations. Now could you explain once more why you wish conservatives would kill more people?] David Sirota ds@davidsirota.com --Don Hank)

Perez (Obama nomination for Sec of Labor) Used Private Email for Gov Business
Excerpt: Labor Secretary nominee Tom Perez used his private email account to leak information about official business while he was assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform said in a Wednesday letter to Perez. (Par for the “most transparent administration in history.” ~Bob.)
Excerpt: Europe tried to kiss the Islamist crocodile only to be bitten for its trouble. The poisonous gift of multiculturalism that it brought to its children has ended in blood and tears. Those who want the nations of the continent to keep on kissing the crocodile urge them to empathize with the reasons why he mistakes love for hate and bites, but no matter how much they try to understand him, he refuses to stop biting them.
Mortars, blast hit Iraqi mosques before vote
Didn’t get the “Islam is a Religion of Peace” memo. ~Bob. Excerpt: Mortar rounds targeted a Sunni Muslim mosque in Iraq and a bomb exploded inside a Shi'ite mosque on Friday in attacks that killed at least eight people a day before local elections.
Excerpt: Seven members of a French family kidnapped by gunmen in northern Cameroon in February have been freed. Cameroon 's Communications Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary told the BBC the Moulin-Fournier family, including four children, were in good condition.
Escape Route
Excerpt: It should be no surprise that people are fleeing Illinois . The state is 42nd in personal income growth, is one of two states experiencing economic decline and has an unemployment rate of 9.5%. A recent survey of small business owners ranked Illinois the 5th-worst state for small business. Illinois is home to the 4th-highest corporate income tax in the industrialized world, the nation's 2nd-highest property taxes and America ’s 4th-highest minimum wage. The bottom line is that Illinois is not structured for success, and the state has become the quintessential example of a hostile business environment. Texas Gov. Rick Perry is looking to capitalize on Illinois ' weaknesses.
Excerpt: Now, Republican representative Mike Pompeo of Kansas has penned a letter about Baucus’s fretting to the Nebraska senator, pointing out that he’s one of the architects of the train wreck: “I was stunned, and also saddened, to read of your complaint that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is doing an insufficient job informing the public about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), otherwise known as Obamacare. My shock wasn't because I disagreed: You're right to say this legislation has led to great uncertainty for hard-working Americans, small business owners, and families. No, I was shocked because you wrote this bill. I was saddened because your acknowledgement of the harm caused by PPACA has come so late.” (Maybe Baucus could get OJ to help him find the real Senators who passed Obamacare. ~Bob.)
