Obama makes joke about Special Olympics

President Obama compared his poor bowling to being in the "Special Olympics."

After which, a Special Olympics bowler who has bowled three perfect games challenged the President to a bowling match:

It certainly won't hurt him with his supporters among the "Palin is a bad mother for not aborting her Downs Syndrome baby" crowd.

Okay, it was an off-the-cuff joke, and I think we should give the President a pass. I mean, if Bush had demeaned the Special Olympics in a joke, we'd have never heard of it again, from Democrats or the Media, right? Like we never heard that Dan Quayle misspelled "Potato" reading from a card the school gave him that used the sometimes-given second spelling "potatoe"!

So we should be as charitable to President Obama as the left and the media always were to President Bush and other Republicans. Maybe even a tad more.

  1. btw, obama, if you will recall (you DID watch it rather than get the info second hand), apologized IMMEDIATELY on leno as soon as the words left his mouth! thank god for repentance/apologies! maybe your mind has been too poisoned by your rhetoric to remember.

  2. TartanMarine-just from an Air Force guy who is 61-you said it well, I wish we could get more to wake up, look around and actually decide to do something about what is taking place in OUR country. Good words-could we get you to run for office, unforunately, I pity anyone who does. We only get to vote for the best of the rest, certainly not the best of the best.

  3. The media is the problem. I say again - the media is the problem. Imagine if Bush had appointed a tax cheat to head the Treasury. Would we ever hear the end of it and yet nothing is written about Obama's choice?

When the darling of the media makes a gaff it will be glossed over like never before.

    Can you feel the hope?

  4. Hmmm..I just watched the video and didn't see an apology immediately. He was too busy laughing.

But you know what, it doesn't matter. That is NOT something you joke about, no matter your position.

Bush wasn't perfect. None of our past presidents were. But I am pretty confident that he never would have made such a horrible remark.

I am sick and "tired" of the media talking about how great President Obama is and not pointing out his flaws. And let me tell ya, he has flaws.

I wonder if it's ok to be outspoken about my dislike of our new president like it was for others during the Bush administration?
