Too Late: William and Carol Stewart of Salem, N.H., did a lot of things together. “They’ve known each other since they were four,” said their daughter, Melissa Noke — “been together 45 years, married 44 years.” They refused the Covid-19 vaccine together, and got the virus together; their whole family got it. Carol was in ICU for two weeks; William, 8 days. His lungs and kidneys were failing, and the hospital summoned the family to come see them. “Placed both beds side-by-side, placing my mother’s hand into my father’s hand,” Noke said. “As soon as they touched hands, my father took his last breath, and then my mother [did the same,] 10 seconds later.” Why did Noke talk about it to a reporter?
