Agreement Reached to Retract Story that Decorated Vietnam War Hero Participated in Civilian Massacre
I am SO glad this has come up, only wish I'd seen it last year when it came out. Turse got caught publicly and legally for utterly false material in his all-too-famous book. Which one would hope would make all those who think it's such a great piece of reporting reconsider their opinions just a bit. After all, when you catch a total falsehood inserted into the text by the overeager writer out to "prove" how horrible we all were, maybe that suggests his work was somewhat less than scrupulously objective in the first place. Here's another well done review of his junk book. All this should be passed on to every professor who uses the book in teaching about the war.
