Random Thoughts for July
2021
Robert A. Hall
Feel free to post or forward.
Health update: My hip replacement is working out fine, about
90% back to normal. Much less pain than the year before. No longer using a
walker, take a cane out for balance. Walking about ½ mile a day.
Had two iron infusions supposed to help with my fatigue and
restless legs. Improvement in incremental if at all.
Here’s a woke
observation for the DoD idiots … Try fielding a U. S. military without white
males. Considering the necessity, the government sure has a peculiar approach
to courting them. –AW.
I can identify
your gender expression by your Starbucks order. –George S.
If Walmart forces you to use the self-checkout, it’s okay to
take a couple of items free as compensation for your time.
If Biden drives up the price of lumber anymore, taking
wooden nickels will be a good investment.
My wife said, “Remember when old people were up at the crack
of dawn? We’re not that kind of old people.”
Liberals neve learn. Reward a behavior, get more of it.
“The right to search for truth implies also a duty; one must
not conceal any part of what one has recognized to be true.” –Albert Einstein.
From the Internet: If you don’t believe there are two
genders, try milking a bull.
Biden is so soft on the border that even aliens from other
planets may be coming through. -National
Review
If someone says, “I don’t care who you are, this is funny,” you
can bet it’s not funny to half the folks.
From the net: Never trust your tongue when your heart is
bitter. Hush until you heal.
When someone says, “You got this,” it sounds to me like they
aren’t sure.

“We will never have peace with the Arabs until they love
their children more than they hate us.” Golda Meir
Real science welcomes and discusses new theories and new
discoveries. “Settled science” is an oxymoron.
The “Juneteenth” holiday is just the latest government
giveaway of your taxes to buy votes. It’s easy to make gifts if the costs don’t
come out of your pocket but hard to take things away. So next year while
government employees are enjoying a day at the beach on your dime, enjoy your
day at work paying for it.
Annoy progressives. Pray for them.
“You cannot allow any of your people to avoid the brutal
facts. If they start living in a dream world, it’s going to be bad.” --Gen. Jim
Mattis
“Find the
enemy that wants to end this experiment (in American democracy) and kill every
one of them until they’re so sick of the killing that they leave us and our
freedoms intact.” –Gen. Jim Mattis.
In 2008, I took a job in IL and registered to vote there.
Three years later I found I was still registered in WI. Anyone could have voted
in my name before voter ID. But removing people from the rolls is voter suppression.
UW-Oshkosh
professor Duke Pesta on CRT: “Ten years ago you had to go to college to learn
how to hate your country. Now … it’s in the elementary schools.”
To be an American means something noble and good. It means
treasuring freedom and embracing the vitality of self-government. We are
shaped by the beauty, bounty and wildness of our continent. We are united by
the glory of our history. And we are distinguished by the American
virtues of openness, honesty, optimism, determination, generosity, confidence,
kindness, hard work, courage and hope. Our principles did not create
these virtues, but they laid the groundwork for them to grow and spread and
forge America into the most just and glorious country in all of history. –1776 Commission
From the National Climate Assessment issued by the US
Government, 2016: “There has been no significant trend in the global number of
tropical cyclones nor has and trend been identified in the number of US
Land-falling hurricanes.” (P.769, appendix 3)
So many political predictions are just wishful thinking.
The only time I’m not tired is when I’m asleep.
Some people don’t know how to take a compliment.
