Berlin: Capital of European Antisemitism
Apparently the guilt accepted by the German governments from 1945 to this new century was superficial and resented. Otherwise how could societal antisemtisim have organically emerged among Germans? To be sure, the influx of prejudiced Muslims stimulated by Merkel's policy has contributed to some of the more violent aspects of antisemitism. But not only have the beliefs and sentiments of Germans contributed to and abetted antisemitic acts, German governments, local and national, have seem to lip service to re-education and punishment of offenders. Moreover, these governments pay lip service to the support of Israel while being hospitable to if not craven in support of Iran and Muslim terrorist organizations. I'm sure that in the wake of World War II there were many who argued for the dismemberment of the German state. Were it not for fear of Soviet communist designs on Europe, it might well have happened. Maybe, in light of this widespread unrepentant culture of antisemitism, it would have been what the German nation deserved. Yours truly, Larry Greenberg
