Still more interesting political news and conservative comment

Update

Health
Been feeling fine. Had a low-blood-sugar hit Wednesday, couldn't finish PT Rehab, but was fine at PT on Friday. The lung doesn't like the cold air--lots of mucus, coughing and a drop in the FEV numbers, but I'm feeling okay. Bonnie and I baked two apples pies for church today. she rolled out the crust after I made the dough. They look good--we'll see tomorrow if they are.~Bob

The Old Jarhead Blog
I try to make this blog your one-stop-shop for political news and conservative opinion. founded in October, 2008, it gets 5k to 7k page views a week, most from the US, but hundreds from many countries worldwide. Feel free to post or forward to friends who need to be better informed. The news posts are created from several news feeds, from US and international websites, from twitter when I have spare time to follow it, and by many readers who send me items for inclusion, which I would have often have missed or skipped. We owe them thanks and appreciation. I try to include foreign sources and info you won’t get in the MSM, but I often use links to pieces in the Washington Post, New York Times, Politico, Reuters and other left-of-center sources. No one is required to read the blog, or any of the links. Trust me, no one reads everything posted, but scanning the headlines will keep you informed, and you can click on stories you want to know more about. I post articles because I think they are of interest and will stimulate thought and discussion. Doing so doesn’t mean that I necessarily agree (or disagree) with every—or any—opinion in the posted article, or that I was able to verify the information presented, which is the responsibility of the author. I try not to post things that are false, too far a stretch, or viciously inflammatory, regardless of the view point. I also try to avoid items that will turn off thoughtful centrists and leftists or low-information independents, including “red meat” pieces with intemperate language or wild speculation, conspiracy theories with no supporting facts and silly distractions like the so-called “birther” issue (which I correctly predicted years ago was going nowhere, and wasted time and energy), but I don’t always succeed. I use maybe 50% of the conservative pieces sent me, probably less than 5% of the liberal opinion sent, usually to illustrate their views. Readers who don’t like that are welcome to start their own blogs. Readers who send formatted pieces (title, link, and a fair-use excerpt of no more than three sentences unless the piece is very short, than fewer) to tartanmarine(at)gmail.com have a higher chance of my using them than people who just send a link. A piece without a link has a much lower chance of being used—it depends on how interesting it is and how much time I have right then to search for it, and my time is limited right now due to managing the lung transplant I received on December 23, 2013, which has developed complications. I understand if you don’t have the time to format or even to find a link—please understand I don't either. I often include thoughtful comments from contributors. (Tell me if you want your full name used.) There are no ads on my blog, no fees and I receive no income from it. Now that I've retired, that might need to change, but for now, that’s how it is. I do promote my books, with the royalties going to charity. As always on the Net, as in the legacy media, you must read these posts critically and with skepticism.

Book Recommendation: American Freedom, American Slavery: The Ordeal of Colonial Virginia by Edmund S. Morgan
Published in 1975, this well-written history of the Virginia colony from Jamestown to the
Revolution and the foundations of American slavery is straightforward and very readable. It explores the historical contradiction between slavery and the struggle for freedom. The revolution was led military and politically by Virginia slaveholders. At that time, 40% of slaves in the colonies were in Virginia. The Virginia colony was hardly the bucolic paradise some might imagine. Mortality was high, corruption rampant, life difficult and the large men oppressed the small men. Early labor was provided by indentured servants, whose lot was little better than slaves. They were beaten, sometimes fatally, though probably not as bad as slaves. Their contracts could be sold, and investing in them, as later in slave, was highly profitable. They were better off in that their contracts could expire if they lived, and they became free, but the planters sought every excuse to have the Council extend the contracts for some violation, often trivial. Morgan made me glad that my great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather, John Hall, emigrated not to Virginia, but to Massachusetts in 1630, where he became one of the "First Comers" in Yarmouth on Cape Cod and lived into his 90s. Some interesting takes from the book that sound current: In the 1600s, the Virginia Assembly complained that an act of parliament affecting their trade was the result of avaricious men "whose sickle has been over long in our harvest." I laughed out loud--nothing changes. Government is still where "avaricious men" go to put their sickle in your harvest. Other good quotes: "Men with guns are not as easily exploited as men without them." p. 240. "(People) wanted an end to fruitless government expenditures. Much of their tax money, they suspected, was going to line the pockets of a pack of public officials. ... they wanted a public accounting of public funds--they wanted specifically to be told what their taxes were paying for." P.276-277. " But (John) Locke made it clear to Englishmen that the legislature must be supreme and that the executive must be limited by the laws that the legislative branch enacted." P.347. "Firearms were great levelers, and the use of them by ordinary men against established authority was in itself enough to generate leveling thoughts." This book is well worth reading.

Not me: Nashua man arrested in assault of police officer
Excerpt: A man was arrested in Nashua, New Hampshire Wednesday evening after assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. Officials said they responded to a residence for reports of a domestic disturbance and found Robert Hall, 36, damaging the front door. Hall saw officers and proceeded to try and run. (Besides, I'm over 40. A little. ~Bob)

Worth Reading: 'Obama's insurance policy': DC chuckles after GOP congressman rules out impeaching Obama because – 'Have you met Joe Biden?'

Excerpt: A Republican congressman known as a pit bull in Washington said Thursday that he doesn’t support the idea of impeachment proceedings against President Obama because winning that fight would elevate the vice president to the Oval Office. ‘Have you met Joe Biden?’ South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy asked during a Fox News Channel interview. (Impeach Obama? To budge senate Democrats and convict, you need more than a smoking gun. Maybe a body, on video, and 100 angels as witnesses. Maybe. An effort to impeach helps the Dems raise money, and a vote helps Obama the way it helped Clinton, because the media will blame the GOP and politics. But suppose you did convict? First, there would be riots in the cities, with hundreds dead and millions in damages. Which the media would blame on the GOP, not the rioters. Then you'd have President Biden. Who would go into 2016 with a united party, tons of cash, and 100% turn out among blacks itching to punish the GOP. Think about President Biden through 2020. Get over it. ~Bob)

Video: MSNBC Reporter’s Seriously Blunt Question to Dem Candidate in Senate Runoff
Excerpt: Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) may have been caught off guard when a reporter asked her a seriously blunt question on Thursday about her chances in an upcoming Senate runoff election against her Republican opponent. “Your leaders are not standing with you today. Are you a lost cause?” MSNBC political correspondent Kasie Hunt asked.

Sen. Harry M. Reid sees dissent but holds onto Democratic leadership role
Excerpt: Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid faced the first internal opposition to his grip on power Thursday as at least six Democrats rejected his bid for another leadership term during an emotional meeting following last week’s drubbing in the midterm elections. Quelling a small but vocal rebellion, Reid (D-Nev.) won reelection to another term atop the caucus, now as minority leader after eight years in the majority. But his victory came only after a 31 / 2-hour meeting that became a forum for political grievances and a rollout of an expanded leadership team meant to balance the caucus’s ideological and regional diversity.

Worth Reading: 7 women to watch in the new Congress. By Nia-Malika Henderson
Excerpt: While 2014 was not exactly "the year of the woman," this new Congress will feature a number of new women and women in new roles. Here's a list of who we're looking out for:

Caught on camera: Pregnant beggar with boy drives off in a Mercedes Benz
Excerpt: An outraged viewer contacted Team 10 after she watched a pregnant woman and a boy beg for money in a shopping center and then drive away in a Mercedes Benz. ... "I noticed they grabbed their little boy and they got into a Mercedes Benz," Smith said. "I thought, 'Wow, a Mercedes Benz. It's not even used -- it's not old. It's a new Benz.'" ... "Lo and beyond they were in front of us," she said. "Here they are counting money, laughing and their little boy is not in a car seat or seat belt. He's all the way in the front seat with them."

Excerpt: Should we really be worried about war between the United States and China? Yes. Over the last four decades of studying China, I have spoken with hundreds of members of China's military, the People's Liberation Army (PLA), and read countless Chinese military journals and strategy articles. Chinese military and political leaders believe that their country is at the center of American war planning. In other words, Beijing believes that the United States is readying itself for the possibility of a conflict with China -- and that it must prepare for that eventuality.

Very Interesting: “Mook Mafia” email leak casts Hillaryland in a negative light. By Jose A. DelReal
Excerpt: A cache of emails from a private listserv maintained by Democratic operatives Robby Mook and Marlon Marshall — contenders for top positions on Hillary Clinton's potential presidential campaign — was leaked to ABC News and published Friday. But rather than coming from Republican rivals, which wouldn't be terribly surprising, the leak reportedly came from within the group's ranks.

Joe Biden claims middle class devastated during Clinton years
Excerpt: Vice President Joseph R. Biden took a swipe Thursday at the Clinton administration — and at possible presidential rival Hillary Rodham Clinton — by saying the middle class declined “all through the ‘90s.”

Texas Lawmakers Should Stick to Policies of Growth
Excerpt: The state of Texas continues to outperform the other 49 states, writes J.D. Tuccille at Reason.com. In September, the state saw a 3.2 percent increase in employment, compared to 2.2 percent among the country as a whole. Its unemployment rate is 5.2 percent, 0.7 percentage points below the national rate of 5.9 percent. Why so successful? The state is routinely ranked as having one of the best environments for business. And according to a recent study from WalletHub, Texas has the seventh least burdensome tax system of all 50 states. Similarly, the Fraser Institute ranks Texas as number two for economic freedom within the United States.

Worth Reading: Life Under the Victimocracy. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: The oppressed oppress the oppressors. And everyone including the oppressors agrees that this is only fair because the oppressors deserve to be oppressed. After all they are the oppressors. They deserve to have the money they earn taken away. They deserve to be sent to the back of the line when applying to a college or looking for a job. They deserve to be beaten, robbed, raped, and taunted with slurs that would lead to national outrage if it were directed at the oppressed.

Elizabeth Warren gets rock-star reception at liberal donors confab By Kenneth P. Vogel
Excerpt: Elizabeth Warren insists she has no interest in running for president in 2016, but the rich liberals to whom she spoke Thursday afternoon seemed unwilling to take ‘no’ for an answer. The Massachusetts senator got a rock stars’ welcome during a closed-door speech to major donors, one of whom interrupted her by yelling “Run, Liz, Run!” (If elected President, will 1/32-native-American-by-family-tradition Warren ban "Hail to the Chief" as racist? ~Bob)

Parody: The Case for Idolatry: Why Evangelical Christians Can Worship Idols. By Andrew Wilson
Excerpt: For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to worship idols. It’s not that my parents raised me that way, because they didn’t; I was brought up in a loving, secure, Christian home. But from childhood until today, my heart has been drawn to idolatry. In fact, if I’m honest, one of the defining features of my identity has been my desire to put something else – popularity, money, influence, sex, success – in place of God. That’s just who I am.

Saw the pickets Friday: Postal workers protest plans to close Wisconsin mail facilities
Excerpt: The U.S. Postal Service plans to close four of its sorting facilities in Wisconsin next year. Centers in Madison, La Crosse, Eau Claire, and Wausau will close, with the mail typically sorted in those spots sent to other facilities.
Standing in line at the post office might make you second guess your view on free markets and privatization.

Loretta Lynch Belonged to Jew-Hating, Pro-Terrorist Harvard Group
Excerpt: Attorney General nominee Loretta Lynch belonged to a student group that brought Jew-hating Palestinian terrorists to Harvard Law School every year she was a member. Lynch belonged to the Harvard Black Law Students Association (BLSA) from 1981-1984 when she was a student. During those years the radical black group brought representatives from the Palestinian Liberation Operation (PLO). The group’s leader, Mohammed Kenyatta, called for the “liberation of Palestine” and expressed support for the terrorist organization.

150 Years Later, Wrestling With a Revised View of Sherman’s March. By Alan Blinder
Excerpt: Historians have increasingly written that Sherman’s plan for the systematic obliteration in late 1864 of the South’s war machine, including its transportation network and factories, was destructive but not gratuitously destructive. Instead, those experts contend, the strategy was an effective and legal application of the general’s authority and the hard-edged masterstroke necessary to break the Confederacy.

Corps to tackle gender bias as combat jobs open to women. By Hope Hodge Seck
Excerpt: New training will ask Marines to question their unconscious gender biases as the Marine Corps opens thousands of new positions to women. Marine officials announced in a Nov. 12 administrative message that female Marines in the ranks of corporal and above were now eligible to fill some 2,600 previously closed jobs in active and Reserve units as the Corps continues to study the integration of women in combat units. This effort is driven by a Pentagon directive to the services to open all military jobs to women by 2016, or be prepared to seek specific exceptions. (In order to appease their feminist base, composed almost entirely of people who never wore the uniform, much less were under fire, the PC left is willing to accept a lot of grieving families in the future. This will end badly. ~Bob)

This is True: The Meek Won’t Inherit the Earth
Police in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., responded in force to an illegal act: the group Love Thy Neighbor showed up next to Stranahan Park — as it has been every week for 23 years — to feed the homeless. The city recently enacted an ordinance to restrict “public food sharing” and other acts considered “life sustaining” to the homeless, but the group’s founder, Arnold Abbot, 90, vowed not to be deterred. As he handed a plate of food to one of the “well over 100” homeless and hungry people standing in line, a police officer ordered, “Drop that plate right now!” Abbot, as well as the Rev. Canon Mark Sims of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church in Coral Springs, the Rev. Dwayne Black of the Sanctuary Church in Fort Lauderdale, and Irene Smith, a Love Thy Neighbor volunteer, were issued summonses to appear in court to answer to their lawlessness. They each face fines of up to $500, and 60 days in jail. (RC/Palm Beach Post) ...“Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat.” —Jesus (Matthew 25:41-42)

The Transparency of Obama’s MalignityBy Edward Cline
Excerpt: Opportunities repeatedly have been overlooked by the media and even by many blog news sites to more properly assess the true motivations of President Barack Hussein Obama, based on his character, policies, behavior and public mien. The scandal that has erupted over MIT economics professor Jonathan Grub’s remarks during a panel discussion about the machinations behind getting Obamacare drafted, and then enacted in Congress and signed by Obama, can serve as an important guide to what Obama is “all about.” Judicial Watch focuses on the “transparent” contempt Gruber has for Americans: (This writer is not holding back, he is just letting it all go, every bit of fear and frustration and rage that the past six years have engendered in him. I wish I could say for sure that he's wrong, and Obama is just an arrogant, ignorant, socialist ideologue and narcissist, who is also utterly incompetent, but not an evil man in any sense. But it's hard to dismiss the discussion that has been given here. On the other hand, whether the driver of the car drives over you because he's malevolent, or because he's an idiot and has no business behind the wheel, may not make any difference to your body once the car drives over you. Excerpt: I usually don't leave the house in a T-shirt to run errands. This morning I did - blue jeans and a black with 2 1/2 inch white block letters USMC tee - for a quick trip to the grocery store. (see, Andy was an officer. Except for Church or other occasions requiring dress up, I wear jeans and a USMC tee shirt or hoodie almost every day. ~Bob)

Of course, Pipkins should have called ahead with a break-in warning, so...~Bob)

Ebola and Enterovirus News

Patient cured of Ebola in Germany treated with biofiltration device
Excerpt: The Aethlon Medical team has created a device called the Hemopurifier, which works on the established infrastructure of dialysis machines already located in hospitals and clinics. “It works within a dialysis machine, but the mechanism selectively targets viral pathogens and immunosuppressive toxins that they release,” James Joyce, the CEO of Aethlon Medical, told FoxNews.com. The Hemopurifier is an extracorporeal biofiltration device that converges hollow-fiber filtration technology with immobilized affinity agents to allow for the rapid physical removal of virus and soluble viral glycoproteins from the blood.

In Scathing Letter to Obama, Former FBI Assistant Director Slams Holder as "Chief Among Antagonists" in Ferguson. By Katie Pavlich

Excerpt: According to KTVI-TV, a meeting billed as a training session was held Thursday to prepare for the grand jury decision on whether or not to indict Ferguson officer Darren Wilson.

Great: KKK Threatens Deadly Force in Ferguson
Excerpt: As if it weren’t enough of a burden for the good people of Ferguson that hundreds of outside agitators have descended upon the town, now there is one more agitating, outsider group threatening violence in the streets of the beautiful Missouri town. The Ku Klux Klan. (I'd be willing to issue the Klan and the protesters baseball bats, and lock them in the Rams" stadium, the Edward Jones Dome, to fight it out. But I bet the KKK doesn't show. These days, the Klan are all alligator mouth and hummingbird ass, but they give the SPLC something to be enraged about to raise funds. ~Bob)

Darren Wilson's radio calls show fatal encounter was brief
Excerpt: The records, obtained by the Post-Dispatch via Missouri’s Sunshine Law, provide the best timeline yet for the events surrounding the shooting of Michael Brown Jr., 18. Also released were police station surveillance videos that provide the most recent images of Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, who has stayed out of the public eye since the shooting. Wilson left the police station for the hospital two hours after the shooting, accompanied by other officers and his union lawyer.

Dems' path after Obamacare: Down, down, down. By Byron York
Excerpt: The question of whether the post-Obamacare Democrats will remain loyal to the law will be tested. There were 60 Democrats in the Senate on Christmas Eve 2009, when they voted in lockstep to pass the Affordable Care Act. Soon there will be 46 Democrats in the Senate, or perhaps 47, if Sen. Mary Landrieu manages to eke out a win in Louisiana. In plain numbers, the post-Obamacare trajectory has not been good for Senate Democrats. The 46 or 47 Democrats in the next Senate are a bit different from the group that passed Obamacare. Sixteen of them took office after the Affordable Care Act was signed into law. They never had to vote for it and have never had to defend voting for it.

USA Today: Obamacare "Accelerates Demise of Rural Hospitals." By Katie Pavlich
Excerpt: As Gruber-Gate continues and as Obamacare heads back to the Supreme Court over the validity of federal subsidies in states that do not use federal healthcare exchanges, the legislation continues to take an extremely negative toll on the nation's healthcare system and hospitals.
In a piece published yesterday, USA Today writers Jayne O'Donnell and Laura Ungar detail the devastating effect the Affordable Care Act is having on rural hospitals.

Worth Reading: The ACA's Broken Promises
excerpt: The Affordable Care Act was touted as a measure that would lower health care costs and expand access to care, but the reality has not been so rosy. In a new report, Heritage Foundation researchers Edmund F. Haislmaier, Robert E. Moffit, PhD, Nina Owcharenko and Alyene Senger highlight five of the law's broken promises, while offering their own model for health care reform that utilizes the free market. What promises has the Obama administration broken with regard to the Affordable Care Act? According to the report:

Challenging Obamacare’s health care rationing: IPAB represents an extreme consolidation of power. By Christina Sandefur
Excerpt: A new petition will be filed Wednesday, asking the court to review the most sweeping government power grab in the law. The case, Coons v. Lew, involves the unaccountable health care rationing agency that the act establishes. The Independent Payment Advisory Board, or IPAB, is charged with controlling Medicare costs. To achieve that goal, the law gives IPAB broad authority to implement price controls, levy taxes and take whatever action its members consider “related to the Medicare program.” The law makes this group of unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats immune from control by the president, Congress or the courts.

EDITORIAL: Jonathan Gruber’s payday
Excerpt: The MIT economist who is the brains behind Obamacare has made quite a stir with his admission that President Obama’s health care takeover was built on lies. Mr. Gruber says he was willing to say and do whatever it took to advance the scheme, and now it’s clear why. Obamacare made Mr. Gruber a multimillionaire, and at the expense of the taxpayers.

Jonathan Gruber’s stature at liberal think tank/Web site: From expert to guy who’s ‘lying.’ By Erik Wemple, Washington Post
Excerpt: There was a time when progressive think tank Center for American Progress (CAP) and its affiliated Web site, ThinkProgress, wrote in positive strokes about famous health-care economist Jonathan Gruber.

President Crafted Obamacare Deception With Gruber At White House Meeting. By Patrick Howley
Excerpt: President Obama personally crafted a major Obamacare deception with Jonathan Gruber at one of Gruber’s numerous White House meetings, according to a 2012 Gruber interview with PBS. .. Gruber had a powerful partner in his effort to spin or conceal politically vulnerable aspects of Obamacare from the public: the president of the United States.

Melissa Francis: When I Worked At CNBC They Stopped Me From Telling The Truth About Obamacare
Excerpt: During her Friday program on the Fox Business Network, Melissa Francis made a truly scandalous revelation: "When I was at CNBC, I pointed out to my viewers that the math of Obamacare simply didn't work. Not the politics by the way; just the basic math. And when I did that, I was silenced."

Interesting: Did an Obama Appointed Supreme Court Justice Put the Nail in the Coffin of ObamaCare? By John Jordan,
Excerpt: This case does not pose a novel or complex legal question; it came to the court because of inconsistent holdings by lower courts. The issue to be decided in King is whether the Court can edit the language of a law duly passed by the then Democratically controlled Congress, or if the Court must show deference to the law as passed and signed by the President. If the Court chooses to change the language of laws passed by Congress and signed by President Obama, it would in effect be legislating and encroaching on powers bestowed solely to Congress. (Kagan's comments are interesting, but I would not expect consistency from a liberal when Obama is involved. And I fear Roberts is locked in now to upholding the law. We shall see. ~Bob)

The Big Money Behind the Push for an Immigration Overhaul. By Julia Preston, New York Times
Excerpt: A vital part of that expansion has involved money: major donations from some of the nation’s wealthiest liberal foundations, including the Ford Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Open Society Foundations of the financier George Soros, and the Atlantic Philanthropies. Over the past decade those donors have invested more than $300 million in immigrant organizations, including many fighting for a pathway to citizenship for immigrants here illegally.

Impoverishing the US: Large Numbers of Immigrants End Up on Free Healthcare. By Sara Noble
Excerpt: If Mr. Obama legalizes millions of illegals next week, it will put a substantive drain on our health system and our financial well-being. Medicaid is the “free” healthcare paid for by taxpayers and Mr. Obama can’t give it away fast enough. Seventy-one percent of enrollments on Obamacare are due to the Medicaid expansion according to The Daily Signal. A key part of the Affordable Care Act is Medicaid expansion for those with low incomes.

Krauthammer: Executive Amnesty ‘An Impeachable Offense’
Excerpt: Thursday on Fox News Channel's "The Kelly File," Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer said that President Barack Obama pushing forward with his executive amnesty plan is an "impeachable offense." (An impeachment attempt would fail in the senate and, like Clinton, would help Obama. And if it succeeded, there would be riots and destruction in the cities and President Biden...who would likely win in 2016. ~Bob)

Denver cold shatters two records, wind chill warning in effect
Americans are just too stupid to understand that they are burning up from global warming.

Excerpt: That increase is due in large part to oil recovered from the Bakken shale formation centered on North Dakota. So much oil has been found there that the Energy Information Administration notes a 13.4% jump in rail shipments of oil over last year, a trend likely to continue. This is both good news and bad news, for increased rail shipments of oil raise the risk of catastrophic train derailments. A State Department analysis released in June found that rejecting the Keystone XL pipeline project would result in 2,947 injuries and 434 deaths as oil companies shipped their oil by means, including rail, that are demonstrably less safe.

Interesting: Five principles that should govern any U.S. authorization of force. By Jack Goldsmith, Ryan Goodman and Steve Vladeck
Excerpt: Jack Goldsmith is a professor at Harvard Law School and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution. Ryan Goodman is a professor at New York University Law School. Steve Vladeck is a professor at American University Washington College of Law. Goldsmith contributes to the Lawfare blog; Goodman and Vladeck edit the Just Security blog. President Obama has stated that he wants “to begin engaging Congress” over a new Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) against the Islamic State and also that he wants to “right-size and update” the 2001 AUMF “to suit the current fight, rather than previous fights.” It appears that Congress, too, is finally getting serious about putting U.S. counterterrorism operations on a contemporary and more rigorous statutory footing.

Worth Reading: The U.S. strategy against the Islamic State must be retooled. Here’s how. By Max Boot, Washington Post
Excerpt: President Obama’s strategy in Syria and Iraq is not working. The president is hoping that limited airstrikes, combined with U.S. support for local proxies, will “degrade and ultimately destroy” the Islamic State. But while U.S. actions may have blunted the Islamic State’s expansion, they have not shaken the terrorist group’s control of an area the size of Britain. If the president is serious about dealing with the Islamic State, he will need to increase America’s commitment well beyond his recent decision to deploy1,500 more advisers. (Obama doesn't want to criticize a Muslim entity, and so he says that ISIS "is not really Islamic." He justifies that statement with the fact that ISIS has committed atrocities, such as beheadings, which, Obama says, no "truly Islamic" entity would do. Once again, Obama has uttered sheer idiocy, although very articulately. Obama has enticed Saudi Arabia into a coalition to combat ISIS. Obama must consider Saudi Arabia to be a "truly Islamic" entity. But, Saudi Arabia, like ISIS, practices Islam, follows the Quran, and adheres to the Sharia. Saudi Arabia has been beheading those who it considers guilty of crimes against Islam, since its inception as a country. In addition to beheading, Saudi Arabia practices amputation, mutilation, lashing and stoning as punishment for crimes. Saudi Arabia forbids public practice of any religion other than Islam. Yet, Obama deems ISIS as "not truly Islamic", and Saudi Arabia, as "truly Islamic". Obama's criteria must not be based upon what is done, but rather, on who does it, and who they do it to. All Muslims follow the Quran, which establishes Islamic doctrine. And, Islamic doctrine includes "death to infidels". Obama, and other Western leaders, never mention the doctrine. It would not be "politically correct" to mention it. But, the Muslim World takes it very seriously. The two major branches of Islam, the Sunnis and the Shia, each consider the other to be "infidels", and they have been killing each other for centuries, for that reason. They still are, and, of course, they are killing non-Muslim "infidels", as well. But, Obama, President of a nation of "infidels", ignores the Islamic death sentence for the American people, and instead, fantasizes that "Islam is the religion of love", and, Islamic terrorism is the work of a tiny minority". However, any fool can see that the Sunnis and the Shia are hardly "a tiny minority", and any fool can see that "death to the infidels" is hardly a message of love. --Syd Chaden in the comments section.

The Islamic State and Jabhat al-Nusra: A Looming Grand Jihadi Alliance? By Aymenn Jawad Al-Tamimi
Excerpt: The international coalition- led by the U.S.- against the Islamic State [IS], with additional American airstrikes targeting the 'Khorasan' al-Qa'ida group in Syria (in reality just al-Qa'ida veterans from the Afghanistan-Pakistan embedded with Syria's al-Qa'ida affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra [JN])- has prompted media speculation of a wider truce, alliance or even merger between IS and JN. For example, on 28 September, Martin Chulov of The Guardian cited a "senior source" claiming "war planning meetings" held between JN and IS leaders.

Why the US Is Losing Yemen
Excerpt: “The Yemeni government is under enormous pressure from multiple fronts,” he said. “And we’re in danger of losing a key partner in our counter-terrorism allies.” It was not the statement itself that was surprising for those who have been paying attention to events in Yemen. Rather, it was a rare admission from a U.S. official that things weren’t going well in the country, which the Obama administration has cast as a key success story in the battle against al-Qaeda.

Excerpt: The US targeted al Qaeda's network in Syria in one of the 20 airstrikes that took place between Nov. 12 and Nov. 14. While the US military has said the strike was carried out against al Qaeda's so-called Khorasan Group, the targets indicate that local infrastructure used by the Al Nusrah Front were hit. US Central Command, or CENTCOM, noted that it "struck terrorists associated with a network of veteran al Qaeda operatives, sometimes called the 'Khorasan Group,' who are plotting external attacks against the United States and our allies" in one of the attacks.

Excerpt: A Saudi teenager, told she would marry a handsome young man whom she had been allowed to meet, was shocked when she discovered that her father had tricked her and that her groom was a man in his nineties. She is 17-years old. Amazingly, the girl bolted and called the police. Headlines, and a social media campaign, condemned her father, accusing him of "selling his daughter to an old man." A court just ruled the marriage "null and void."

Al-Shabaab kidnaps residents, beheads 2 women in Kudha. By Fuad Ahmed in Mogadishu
Excerpt: Al-Shabaab beheaded two women and kidnapped more than 20 civilians it accused of spying and opposing its views after briefly re-taking control of Kudha island on November 8th.
Al-Shabaab militants went door-to-door in Kudha, rounding up young women and men they accused of spying for the Interim Jubba Administration. Above, residents who fled their homes in Bulomarer are able to return home August 31st after African Union Mission in Somalia troops liberated the town from al-Shabaab. "I can guarantee that the two women beheaded by al-Shabaab and the more than 20 civilians they [kidnapped] had nothing to do with the accusations levelled against them of spying for the Interim Jubba Administration (IJA)," said Colonel Urdan Kilas Gurase of the IJA security forces. "The women were under the age of 20, and what these men are doing is barbaric," he told Sabahi. (Funny how many Muslims think that beheading is Islamic, unlike Imam John Kerry. ~~Bob)

  1. I am really sick to death of "we can't impeach because... ... ... ... ... ... ". The cities will burn, we'll get biden, or worse, it will help the dims.

It is fucking over when we "can't" deal with the lawless for whatever reason. We have laws by the shitload anymore but justice is just dead and gone, because the bullies would only be offended if not further appeased...

The late great America, sigh, cry,,,,
