Marine Corps Rips Reid: "Pure Political Posturing
On The Backs Of Those Dead Marines"
Excerpt: …Marine Corps officials
this afternoon are taking a strong exception to what Harry Reid implied.
Didn’t get the memo. ~Bob. Excerpt: Yesterday a pair of
suicide bombers killed 22 Nigerians and wounded an estimated 65 more in an
attack at a bus station in Kano ,
according to reports from the African country. The suicide bombers attacked "Kano 's
Sabon Gari district, an area mostly inhabited by migrants from the southern
Christian Igbo ethnic group," according to Bloomberg.
The blasts were large enough to destroy five buses.
Excerpt: On March 17, the Egyptian Army warned citizens to be
wary of people posing as army officers after authorities had discovered fabrics to
make police and army uniforms in a smuggling tunnel with Gaza . The following day, Egyptian soldiers in
Suez were
given new uniforms as a
result of the discovery of the fabrics. According to the Associated
Press, Egyptian authorities are now investigating whether the
Palestinian terror group, Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, is linked to
the seized fabrics.
Obama honeymoon may
be over. By Amie Parnes and Justin Sink
Excerpt: The second-term honeymoon for President Obama is
beginning to look like it is over. Obama, who was riding high after his
reelection win in November, has seen his poll numbers take a precipitous fall
in recent weeks. A CNN poll released Tuesday showed Obama’s favorability
rating underwater, with 47 percent approving and 50 percent disapproving of
Obama’s handling of his job. (Golly
jeepers! Look at the source! CNN. Is the world ending yet? Too bad the
50% couldn’t figure it out on November 6. ~Bob.)
Reports of chemical
attacks in Syria
raise pressure on Obama
Excerpt: Pressure on the Obama administration to use
military force in Syria
intensified Tuesday after reports that President Bashar Assad’s government had
crossed a line drawn by President Obama by using chemical weapons. The reports,
which were denied by the Syrian government and unconfirmed by third parties,
triggered a growing number of lawmakers to call on the White House to at least
arm the rebels fighting Assad. (Any arms given to the rebels will eventually be
used against infidels. That likely includes you. ~Bob.)
Lawmakers deeply

House lawmakers are deeply divided over proposals to arm rebel groups in Syria , amid
unconfirmed reports that President Bashar Assad has used chemical weapons against
opposition forces. At a hearing Wednesday, lawmakers pushed back on
legislation from the top Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs panel, Rep.
Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.), that would provide $150 million in military assistance,
including weapons, to forces looking to topple Assad's government. Rep. Ileana
Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), the panel’s former chairwoman, warned that the arms
could fall into the hands of groups hostile to the U.S. or
Western interests. (Yeah, R-FLA. At least someone is looking at Benghazi-gate.

“Russia 's
president Vladimir Putin announced he was bringing back the Soviet
Union 's old physical fitness program for young people. It's
obvious why they want to raise the population's physical endurance. In three
years, it's their turn to invade Afghanistan again.” --Argus Hamilton
Star Parker on Gun
Control
Excerpt: The top U.S.
military commander in Europe said Tuesday that several NATO countries
are working on contingency plans for possible military action to end the
two-year civil war in Syria as
President Bashar Assad's regime accused U.S.-backed Syrian rebels of
using chemical weapons. (Let's sit this one out, okay? It's THEIR civil
war! Let them fight it out. There are no good guys involved, just bad guys
fighting bad guys. – LLW)
Excerpt: Now a left-wing activist and former minister,
who bears major responsibility for the failed Oslo Accords that
caused the deaths of over a thousand Israelis but did not bring peace, has
cited top American officials in saying that Obama does indeed have a new plan
for Israel-PA talks. Speaking at a Geneva Initiative event, former minister
Yossi Beilin said that U.S. Secretary of State John
Kerry recently asked European leaders not to publish a peace plan for Israel and the PA at
the present time, because America is
planning to lead with its own plan.
Excerpt: When someone reaches the limit of how long one can
spend as a county supervisor, then it is just a question of finding another
political office to run for, such as a member of the state legislature. And
when the limit on terms there is reached, it is time to look around for another
political job -- perhaps as a mayor or a member of Congress.

Excerpt: After reading Dr. Thomas Sowell's latest book,
"Intellectuals and Race," one cannot emerge with much respect for the
reasoning powers of intellectuals, particularly academics, on matters of race.
There's so much faulty logic and downright dishonesty.
Many intellectuals attribute the behavior patterns of blacks
to "a legacy of slavery" or contemporary racial discrimination. But
when one observes similar behavior patterns among Britain 's lower-class whites, which
can't be attributed to "a legacy of slavery" or discrimination, it
calls into question the explanations for black behavior.
Sheriff warns of
second American revolution if gun confiscation laws pass
Excerpt: Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke warned of a
second American revolution if gun
control and gun
confiscation passed and said he would not enforce laws
requiring confiscation in his county while speaking with Alex Jones, Infowars reported Tuesday. (This possible
outcome has been apparent for many months. Let's hope that more effective
government for our Republic can be obtained. –RW. A revolution implies two
sides. I think more likely collapse, chaos, riots, local gangs and warlords,
and as many sides as you can count. ~Bob.)
#MyJihad in Israel :
2-year-old Israeli girl in critical condition, mother wounded after Muslims
throw stones at car
Didn’t get the memo. ~Bob. Excerpt: This is the bloody
reality behind the "Palestinian" victimhood propaganda. … "The
2-year-old baby is in critical condition. We are not giving up. We are doing
everything in our power to save her. We are optimistic," Dr. Oleg
Kaminsky, a senior doctor at Rabin
Medical Center ,
said Thursday.
Special Travel
Benefit for Saudis a "Slap in the Face"
Excerpt: Saudi Arabia ,
the nation which produced 15 of the 19 hijackers in the 9/11 attacks, is about
to become one of a handful of countries whose travelers can bypass normal
passport controls at major U.S.
airports. Sources tell the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) that this
will mark the first time that the Saudi government will have a direct role in
vetting who is eligible for getting fast-tracked for entry into the United States .
Worth Reading : Growing Up on Missile Defense: The Obama
administration, by restoring interceptors to Alaska , seems to be more serious. By Michael
Auslin
Excerpt: The Obama administration has been mugged by reality
(again) — last week it announced that it would reverse its 2011 decision to
close Missile Field 1 in Alaska ,
and would instead complete the project with 44 ballistic-missile interceptors,
as originally planned by the Bush administration. Newly minted defense
secretary Chuck Hagel explained that growing threats from North Korea and Iran mandate the reopening of the
missile-defense site and the deployment of the full amount of interceptors.
The Death of
Physician-Owned Private Practices
Excerpt: The days of doctor-owned medical practices are
probably over now that the Affordable Care Act ("ObamaCare")
increases the costs for doctors to practice individually. Physicians are now
becoming hospital employees more frequently, which reduces quality of care and
productivity, says Scott Gottlieb, a resident fellow at the American Enterprise
Institute.
‘Not One Dime’: Health Care Law Projected to Add $6.2
Trillion to U.S. Deficit.
By Christopher J. Conover
Excerpt: Congress is likely to follow precedent and bypass
the new health care law’s draconian payment cuts to doctors and hospitals,
causing the law's cost to balloon by trillions of dollars. It turns out
President Obama was right when he said his health care law wouldn't add one dime to the
federal deficit. Figures from the Government Accountability Office suggest
that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will in fact add 62
trillion dimes over the next 75 years.
Excerpt: The federal government has been spending billions
of dollars on health care pilot programs and demonstration projects. President
Obama has explained their purpose: "We need to find out what works and
then go do it." In other words, the exercises are supposed to discover how to lower costs and raise quality so that
everyone else can copy them. There are five problems. First, three
Congressional Budget Office reports (see here, here and here) have found that
these programs are not working. Second, even where there is evidence of
success, the gains are usually too small to warrant much hope for meaningful
change. Third, no matter how successful a project, it is not of much value if
it cannot be replicated -
which appears to be generally the case. Fourth, even in the rare instance where
a pilot program is remarkably successful and there is every reason to think the
results are replicable, Washington will ignore the project if it does not fit
into the bureaucratic vision of how health care should be delivered.
YouTube: Nigel Farage on
Cyprus
Farage nails it. The best path for Cyprus is to get out of
the EU and default on the bonds (the really RICH are the institutional bond

North Korea Preps for
War
Excerpt: There are many hardships to living in North Korea,
but food shortage is a category of hardship that has prompted public riots in
the past that required troops to suppress. Government action to avert them by
limited food allocations is an indication of the gravity of the internal
situation. The leadership cannot afford to divert military resources to riot
control when it is risking general war. (Comparatively short, this report is
very revealing about ordinary life in the DPRK. Also worth reading is the
section on Cyprus. --Ron P.)
Landmark gun bills
signed in Colorado
Excerpt: Gov. John Hickenlooper signed bills
Wednesday that place new restrictions on firearms and signaled a change for
Democrats who traditionally shied away from gun control debate
in Colorado - a state with a moderate streak and pioneer tradition of
gun ownership and self-reliance. (I have it from the second-highest authority
in the land, that all you need for home defense is a double barrel shotgun and
two shells. He claims all you have to do is step out onto your porch, fire both
barrels into the air, and those gang members will flee into the night. Sleep
safe, Colorado. – LLW)
Guantanamo hunger
strike grows
Excerpt: Guantanamo prisoners are frustrated by the
government's failure to close the detention camp and have launched a
growing hunger strike to "turn the heat up," an American
general told a congressional committee on Wednesday. (I'm scratching my head
trying to figure out why this is considered a problem. It saves money, and it's
voluntary. Sort of a win-win. – LLW)
Ben Carson’s most
surprising policy positions
Excerpt: Dr. Ben Carson is a conservative star on the
rise, but at least one of his policy ideas might cause the Republican
leadership to do a double-take. In an interview with The Daily
Caller, Carson said he opposed the invasions of
both Iraq and Afghanistan.… “I actually wrote President Bush a
letter before the war started and I said, you know, what I would do is I would
use the bully pulpit at this moment of great national unity and, very much in a
Kennedy-esque type fashion, say within 10 years we’re going to become petroleum
independent,” Carson told TheDC. (What’s wrong with not buying the 9/11 story
of Bush, Cheney and Co and being energy independent versus wrecking our homes
and economy buying oil from those who burn our flag and wish us dead and hate
our Jeudo-Christian culture—or what’s left of it? I don’t find this position
“surprising.” How about smart? –Barb.)

Excerpt: One of President Obama’s specially-designed armored
Cadillac limos — called “The Beast” — broke down in Israel after it
was filled with diesel fuel by mistake. The eight-ton vehicle “stalled shortly after the American
president landed in Israel,” according to News 2,
an Israeli news service. News 2 emphasized that the mistake was the “result of
incorrect refueling conducted by U.S. personnel accompany[ing] Obama
during his visit here.” (Guess he shouldn’t have thrown the Secret Service
under the bus, blaming them for cancelling White House tours for school kids.

Families raided the family home when Moore was away from the house …
They told me they were going to get a search warrant. I told them to go ahead,”
he said. An online poll at the Newark Star Ledger indicates
80 percent of the paper’s readers believe the police visit was “a clear
violation of both the 1st and 2nd Amendments.” (Per article, police have
not returned. Father ,a firearms instructor and NRA member, called his
attorney, who told him to demand a search warrant before complying with
raiders’ demands to view his guns and gun cabinet. –Barb)
Obama delinquent with
budgets, always on time with NCAA brackets, say Republicans
Excerpt: Republicans have seized on President Barack Obama’s
NCAA Tournament bracket release to point out that for the fourth time in five
years the president has failed to submit a budget on time. “It’s a
shocking failure of leadership that hard-working taxpayers can see President
Obama’s Final Four bracket picks, but they still can’t find the President’s
budget, which is late for the fourth time in five years,” Republican Study Committee
Chairman Rep. Steve Scalise said shortly after the bracket’s release.
US oil
production set to surpass imports
Excerpt: The U.S. oil production boom will soon hit another
milestone: monthly domestic production is on track to surpass crude oil imports
later in 2013 for the first time since 1995. And then the gap will keep
growing, according to the Energy Department’s independent statistical arm,
which provides a look at the soon-to-cross lines here.

ICE Admits 200+
Serious Criminal Illegals Released
Excerpt: On Tuesday, House Republicans quizzed Immigration
and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton on why he hadn’t tried to
direct sequestration cuts toward areas other than release of illegal immigrant
detainees. Morton attempted to blame “career agency officials” rather than
political appointees. In February, 2,228 detainees were released and placed
on supervised monitoring in an attempt to frighten the American people about
the upcoming ramifications of sequestration.
